15 Portland Biscuits That Would Make Any Southerner Proud

"The Egg Carton stands out in the popular Carts on Foster food cart pod due to its bright turquoise exterior and stellar biscuits. You can substitute biscuits for bread in any one of their excellent breakfast sandwiches, or, opt for its popular biscuits and gravy plate (which is only available during the weekend — just be sure to get there early before it sells out)." - Michelle Lopez

Portland’s Coziest All-Weather Food Cart Pods

"One of the biggest and most varied food pods in the city, Eastport Food Center has weathered the closure of the neighboring Walmart — and the loss of dozens of employee lunch visits — largely on the strength of its standout carts. Top-notch offerings include Turkish Agha’s kofta-kabab saj, Year of the Fish’s halibut and chips, La Perla del Sur’s Cuban sandwich, and Taste of Afghan’s raisin-adorned kabli pilau. Dine under cover warmed by powerful heat lamps, or inside Eastport’s modest indoor dining space." - Nathan Williams

Very interesting layout. For it to be a Saturday afternoon only 50% of the carts were open for business. There also weren't that many patrons at the location (less than 20) which I found quite unusual. I spent my day food truck surfacing and this was the only location that wasn't full of people. It seemed a quite distance from others but the area seems to represent a mixture of cuisines. Maybe being close to the popular fast food restaurants doesn't help their business although pricing seems appropriate.

The BEST family dinning experience! We ate at the Luton Pinoy for Adobo Chicken and Pancit, Chicken Teriyaki, BBQ Chicken and Jumbo Lumpia; Esan Thai for Thai teas, Taste of Afghan for butter chicken, rice and garlic naan, and Bobablastic for Boba drinks and crispy spring rolls. Everything was just amazing, all prepared fresh and hot and thorough service. We will make this Cart Pot stop our family’s number and one place to go for dinner the next time we come to visit Oregon. Thank you very much for all your hard work and efforts to making delicious hot and quality food for a large family like ours very happy and satisfied. If you are hungry and looking for something Thai, Filipino, Afghani, Turkish, Caribbean, Cuban, Mexican or American. This is the spot! Enjoy an amazing meal, snack or beverage here at the Eastport Food Carts.

Ginja Ninja pizza was some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! We ate it too fast to take a picture, my apologies, but I highly recommend this place. I was pleasantly surprised by the Verde chicken pie…it was like a cross between enchiladas and pizza, so tasty and original. We also ate at the Cuban place, and the Afghan cart. Both were delicious, but I could eat the Cuban food every day.

Great food cart pod with lots of different options. Many of the carts were closed when I came on Monday so you'll want to check cart hours if you're aiming to eat at a specific one. Still, there was plenty to choose from, it was easy to park and they had covered seating.

The Cuban place is sooo bomb and had such great service!! Also this presentation was on point. I could feel the love put into the dish! I love these food carts. There are so many incredible options to choose from! Highly recommend

Extra large portions means you can feed two people for cheap. Everything was clean. Everyone was friendly. There's really a great selection of foods to choose from; Mexican, Indian, Afghani, Ethiopian, Greek, Japanese, etc. There feels like a real sense of comradery between the different vendors. Well worth the stop.

We are not native to Portland so maybe we didn’t plan it well but not many carts were open. Arrived on a weekday and was smaller than expected. We ordered a garlic bread naan ( Taste of Afghan ) that was very dry and not what was expected. The pork skin cabbage salad (during preparado) was delicious. The plantain dessert left much to be desired. (La Isla Antojitos) Edit** Editing review to reflect just the pod! But just wanted to point out that many of these positive reviews are similarly reviewing individual pods as I did before I edited it. The ease of finding information on the carts via website can use some updating, including hours of the carts online next to their names could be helpful! Overall is a nice experience.

Went for ReKoop but it was closed so they need to update their hours. Wound up getting Thai instead from one vendor and an aqua fresca from another. Both were good but not spectacular, and good value for the size. Both vendors were nice and friendly. Some vendors are open late but not many so you have to go to find out since the hours listed are not accurate.

Yelp
Meeting friends from out of town at the Eastport Food Carts means I get to have another burrito from Mas Sabor. My favorite is not on their "regular menu" but they happily created a bean and rice burrito for me with no cheese or sour cream (basically a #37 with a bit of altering). Add some pico de gallo and their red and green sauces, then wash the whole thing down with a big glass of iced jamaica - and I'm in burrito-for-lunch heaven. I can definitely recommend the Eastport Food Carts in general and specifically Mas Sabor for good Mexican food.

Yelp
I ordered food to carry out from this place. I told the owner that I wanted a burrito combination plate (the #29 burrito just I don't know how to call the burrito's name). Paid the order with tips. Then He end up given me a burrito only. So I ordered a side which included some beans and rice. He charged me 4 dollars, after I put my card then he took the machine away. I didn't want to put any tips for the second round, but the owner add tips himself. I found out from my credit card payment list. Very disappointed with what he did. Here I am to post my story. Everyone please beware. The food is not bad. You just have to make sure the order and payment parts.

Yelp
A breakfast burrito that cannot and will not be beat! Definitely try this spot out. The owners and very kind and the location is perfect. There's a place inside to eat and it's close to everything!

Yelp
Some of the most bland tacos in the area. They use lettuce and mozzarella cheese... that should tell you all you need to know...

Yelp
This is a great spot for authentic Mexican food. It's my regular spot any time my family and I are in the mood for tacos or a burrito. Couldn't recommend this place enough and the owners are very nice!

Yelp
Best burritos in Portland! The taste is good and the service is always fast and friendly. This is my go-to spot.

Yelp
How do you make flavorless nachos? Worst nachos I've ever had in the US. They also didn't give me any salsa.

Sterling B.

Yelp
Really good and fresh Mexican food. The green salsa is really bomb which is hard to find. They even put avocado on the tacos. Very friendly service. Check it out.

Yelp
Good food, and very nice couple running the place. Definitely recommend if you are in the neighborhood! My go to meal is their carnitas tacos with a nice cold home made horchata.
