George’s Eastside BBQ Shutters After More than a Decade on LES | Eater NY

"After 11 years of serving Southern-style barbecue plates and sandwiches on the Lower East Side, Georgia's Eastside BBQ closed after service on May 6th. I read a farewell post on Instagram saying the shutdown resulted from multiple reasons but 'principally construction problems'; the restaurant, which was located next to the luxury condo development undergoing construction at 196 Orchard St., had complained about that project in March, and owner Alan Natkiel told Bowery Boogie last August that a temporary DOH closure for vermin issues was the direct result of the neighboring construction." - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya

They were in the process of making more biscuits when we entered. We were willing to wait, and they graciously comped our drinks, which we didn't expect. The chicken biscuit was large and very filling. If we're ever in the area again we will be sure to swing by again. It's the perfect local hideout with simple delicious food.

Super small road side stop in Ellijay GA. We stayed at a cabin near by and drove past this location. Its definitely old school, they have a few tables on the inside of the establishment, but its basically a trailer with some covered seating. Dont expect anything fancy here! Everything is served in to-go containers, but the service was super friendly and the food came out very quick. Biscuits and gravy were so good!! It’s a nice classic and home cooked breakfast meal!

I live here in Ellijay and have for years...been wanting to stop in just never have until today. Great little place. Good food and great service. Guy behind the counter came out asking people sitting at the (very few) tables if they needed anything. We got a gravy and biscuits with egg and sausage. Definitelya lot of gravy... it was all good and decent prices. 2 plates and 2 drinks under $20. My ratings... 4.8 on food 4.25 atmosphere (there's just not much to it) 5 on service

Food was great. Service was excellent and atmosphere was more than expected. I had the pleasure of my car breaking down in this parking lot when they were closed. A lady I assume was the owner had dropped by and she gave me a cold drink and allowed me to wait for the tow truck inside in the a/c. I had passed by several times and always meant to stop. So I finally did and not only do the treat people how they want to be treated they were providing water and food for a stray dog. Good people in my book.

Walked in and the menu on the wall had no prices which was annoying. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was tasty and my husband liked his hamburger very much. The french fries were ok if you like the fat ones that aren't crunchy. It would have been nice to have some music on to cheer up the atmosphere. But the worst thing was as we were eating we started smelling cigarette smoke coming from where the employees were so we got up and left. I don't like being forced to "smoke" someone else's cigarettes. We tipped when we ordered but not sure why. We won't be back.

They didn't know what homefries were but the tater tots were a great sub. Food was good. Service was good. Great little spot.

This is a very basic little Roadside Cafe in a rural community that is very good in preparation the staff are nice the customers are nice sausage gravy biscuit with tenderloin and cinnamon rolls were very good. I'll certainly make this a regular stop as I passed through this community. Definitely a must go to.

They have huge biscuits. I think they are the best in town. Excellent lunch as well, very good burgers. Items cooked as ordered which makes a wait. My only issue here is when tourist attack, the wait is significant, even if called in ahead.
