We found this place just by chance and couldn't have asked for more. We were very well & warmly received by Patrick. When we first went to the reception/bar we got to chat with Patrick and that started off an amazing weekend. He took time to show us different rooms to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. And let me tell you, every single room is very unique and you can tell how much love was put into them. Every object and piece of decoration is thought through very well. We decided to stay in a cabin and wow!! A lot of wood, a lot of light, wonderful but minimalistic decoration, heated floor, nice shower, amazing view, lovely patio, windows in the roof top so you can see the moon from your bed. 5 out of 5! In addition they offer a sauna! This place is absolutely incredible but it would NOT have been the same without Patrick! He is an awesome human being and we are were very glad that we got to meet him.

My mom and I came to Lake Placid for a little winter getaway and the Eastwind Hotel really made this trip awesome! Location was great, right down the road from Main Street and the room was clean. We booked the 2 queen room and it was huge! Plenty of room for my mom and I. On top of that there was a roaring fireplace with huge windows looking out over the wintery landscape making it super cozy. The breakfast basket was delicious and so much food! They brought it right to our door and we ate it in bed in front of the fire. We felt secluded but the staff was super easy to get ahold of and very nice. It was the perfect getaway and I highly recommend staying here!

First visit, we were in town for a ski trip with family. Staff couldn’t be any better, all of them. I’m guessing we met 4 different staff members in the main lounge. Overwhelming nice and attentive. We joined other family members nightly sitting by the fire place, cozy and comfortable. Rooms, well thought out but seems a bit worn. Our shower leaked at the bottom seal each time we used it, caused us to use many towels. Bathroom door wouldn’t close unless you slam it, alerted staff and they recommended we slam it. On the rooms I’d say a 3.8 out of 5.

Had a wonderful stay at the Eastwind Hotel. Our room was very cozy and clean exactly like the pictures and descriptions. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. We were given a tour of the property and a run down of all the amenities. Check in was very quick and easy. I would absolutely recommend staying at this hotel. Can't wait to go back.

Had a great stay at the Eastwind. It is a great spot and I love what they are doing here. Sort of an eco friendly hotel vibe going on. Love all the little outbuilding, the quaint registration building with the bar and seating area and fireplace. The room was big nice and clean, we did room 9 which is the king bed and fireplace room. Only things to gripe about is that communication is conveniently done via text which is great. However when they asked for house keeping to be done which they ask everyday I said yes we could use new towels and replied with a no problem. Came back at 3:00 and it wasn’t done. I replied later to their text saying it wasn’t done yet (around 3:30 pm) they said we are on the list and it will be done shortly. Came back at 6:00 pm and it still hadn’t been touched. Seemed to have been some miscommunication and a quick visit to the registration desk, we had towels in our room within 15 mins, problem solved. Room has a fireplace but this was not working as the gas was turned off, not sure the reason but when you get a room with a fireplace you should be notified if it’s in working condition or not. Also when we arrived we notified them a pillow case was ripped open from previous guest perhaps and asked if it could be replaced, was told someone would be up shortly and that never happened. Sounds like a lot but really minor things I just want the hotel to get better at. It really was a lovely stay and again very clean and friendly people. Great views, they offer snowshoes and boardgames, and the sauna was nice touch as well. Will definitely be back and highly recommend!

The Eastwind Hotel in Lake Placid is absolutely stunning! The venue is beautiful, quiet, and perfect for a romantic couples' getaway, though I’d happily stay here solo as well. The staff went above and beyond, making the experience truly special—every small touch was so thoughtful and appreciated. Plus, it’s within walking distance of the village, which was a huge bonus. Can’t wait to come back!

Absolute gem! The room was spacious and clean with comfortable bed. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try the sauna, but it looked magical. Just like the entire accommodation - like from a fairy tale :). I would also definitely recommend the breakfast basket. And I must not forget to mention the wonderful approach of the host. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Great location, very walkable to Main Street. Staff was laid back and friendly. Room was GORGEOUS, just like the pictures! My jaw dropped when I saw the huge bathroom with the tub and fireplace. I would stay here again!

Yelp
One of the worst places to stay. The so called bar consists on 3 barstools with a selection of craft beers only. They add their own tips on to anything you get for your room. The beers we had was almost $20 for two. The housekeeping staff didn't even make the bed, just emptied one trash can. I will be finding a better place to stay in Lake Placid.

Yelp
I'll assume this place is new and really just getting started. The rooms are fairly interesting, but there's a lot to be desired. Here's the list: No gym. Who doesn't have one of these in today's world?!? No TVs. "It's not something we do." I'm not even sure what that means, but I'm here for a conference and the Euros are on! The lovely outdoor pool with the mountains in the background? Closed! Didn't pass inspection?!? I hate to think what that might mean? Giardia?!? $12.00 drinks at the bar?!? (ok, this last one is fairly average, but still!!!) Deliver people. C'mon, it's game time!

Yelp
One star down right off the bat because the pool was supposed to be open but wasn't being opened this year. It seemed like the staff, for the most part, was lost and didn't know where basic items were. Maybe we were spoiled by the staff at the Windham location because they were on top of everything. At the Windham location, we would ask for plates, utensils and bbq tools and they would have them in a basket, but here it was unorganized and you would get plates(some not fully clean) and mismatched utensils and we didn't even bother asking for bbq tools(good thing we went with our instincts and brought our own) because they probably wouldn't have known where they are. Also, as far as the fire pits near the Lushna, they need a solo fire pit like Windham, along with the grills they have there. Now, onto the grounds, half the grounds look like they are not tended to and I'm sure that's to give it that secluded vibe, but they need to make the walk areas and the fire pit areas by the lushnas bigger by adding more gravel. The lushnas here are good for two reasons, one being they have a fridge and two, the bathroom is in the same building, unlike Windham where you have to walk outside. Now, as far as the patios on some of these lushnas they need steps because it is at least 18in that you need to step off to reach the ground. I saw older people struggling or had to walk all the way around to the other end to safely get off the patio. Even around the lushnas they need to add more gravel in certain areas because you will step into the mud and track it into the lushna. Another issue we saw was that they needed to build a shack to keep the wood out of the elements, because the area they have wood stacked up now to keep it out of the elements isn't cutting it because it was still wet and get some fire starters like windham has because the kindling is a pain in the butt to get going while standing there with a lighter on it. I will give them credit for the suana, bicycles, hammocks and an employee by the name Boujan(I'm sure I butchered it) who I think was the main guy but was helpful and the location was a 10 minute walk to the downtown area. There's also Chubb river, which has an open field if you have kids or want to have a picnic. At the end of the day, we were disappointed overall and maybe it's because the Windham location raised the bar, but we most likely won't be back to this location. Also, don't forget your nightly s'mores kit.

Yelp
Amazing stay with incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. It is a gem in Lake Placid. Saturday night offered live entertainment in a cozy fireplace setting. We will 100% stay here again, for longer next time!
