Detroit’s Best New Bars, Winter 2025 | Eater Detroit

"Once upon a time, the friends behind Huddle Soft Serve, Two Birds, Cøllect Beer Bar, and the former Apartment Disco and Lost River got together and partnered up on a no-fuss, effortless, and casual downtown bar that’s — well, easy peasy and low-key. On the main floor, Easy Peasy serves up white walls, casual conversation, and carefully prepared drinks and snacks, while late-night guests head downstairs to Lowkey for live music, DJ sessions, and dancing on weekend nights, plus more wine and creative cocktails." - Mickey Lyons

Wow- such a fun unique spot in Downtown!! Very bright, low-key bar with great cocktail options, beers, and non alcoholic beverages. The atmosphere is inviting and open, with great views of the city. They have food pop ups which is great for a drink and dinner. Must try if you’re visiting downtown!!

A group of about 10 of us stopped in on a Monday for happy hour - there was a nice crowd, music was playing, sparsely decorated. They have a great patio right on Woodward which is why we came, but it ended up raining. Although only one bartender was working, cocktails came out fast and tasted fresh and good. They have an interesting n/a mocktail made with homemade cordial and soda - I didn't try it this time, but it's good to know they have an option other than soda and lime. The aperol spritz looked good as did the spicy margarita. A good place to catch a quick drink. They have an interesting food menu - sushi during the day and late night, and bbq for dinner. Maybe a little odd, but I remember when this place was Oslo and had the best sushi, so maybe it makes sense? I'll have to come back to try the food. Everyone working has also been really friendly, so I'd come back. An excellent location if you work downtown.

Came to visit for pride And the bartender continuously skipped us and told customers that if they ask, why were they being skipped, he would continuously make them wait longer on purpose. Bartenders do not do well under pressure here. Be careful when there’s a large crowd.

Visited this past weekend and it was a ton of fun. Loved the music they played and our bartenders were great, we had Danielle and Phil and both were extremely friendly and attentive. Drinks were great and the overall vibe was amazing! We can’t wait to go back!

Newly opened bar. Nice selection of beer and cocktails. Definitely looks to have plans to build it out a bit more and do something in the space downstairs. But for now it's a nice, bright, clean space with a great environment and friendly staff. Worth the stop in for a drink.

Yelp
No Sauce BBQ at Easy Peasy I was still very much hungover when I got the oxtails & grits with breakfast potatoes. BUT what I ate was delicious And did NOT upset my stomach. I have been looking forward to trying the oxtail tacos next, but so far I keep missing them. The salmon is seasoned deliciously & the roasted peppers pair very well in the rice bowl.

Yelp
The caipirinha was one of the best I've had since moving to the states. That should tell you a lot because getting a distinctly Brazilian/Portuguese cocktail in downtown Detroit is tonight and they nailed it. Great ambiance and wonderful hipster vibe. Only issue is the music is a bit non-distinct and non-committal. Doesn't add much. I think the bar could gain more personality by settling on the 2010s/2020s indie theme its clearly aspiring to.

Yelp
Review for No sauce bbq in the back of Easy Peasy: It took us a second to figure out there were two different businesses and we stood at the end of the bar to order. There's a clear sign that says ORDER FOOD HERE. -near the back-I ordered the tacos and my son ordered the bacon cheeseburger. The owner, Mich, was personable and helpful. We asked about the city and he was informative and honest. The food was fresh and delicious! My son said it was the best burger he had ever had. Can't wait to try some of his food trucks. The restrooms were down some scary, dark stairs but were very clean.

Yelp
We were walking by and decided to stop in for a drink. This is a unique set up. You order at one end and pick it up at the other end. Similar to a brewery but they are craft cocktails. I chose a French 75 with Cognac. Ohh. It was delicious! Our bartender was great and able to answer all of our questions. It's a small area but there is also another level where they hold events. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Yelp
Such an awesome spot to grab a beer downtown. Great local feel with a clean and cool interior. Really good beer and cocktail options with ample seating. Will definitely be a go-to!

Yelp
If you are looking to grab a beer and people watch, this is a good spot. Not recommended for cocktails or food.

Yelp
I said "Hey how are you doing brother?" To the bartender, he looked me in the eyes, and turned around. Is this McDonald's? Why am I more nice and more friendly than the workers? I'm service industry myself and I'm easily pleased, just be friendly. Idc how long service takes, just be nice. We went to the Brakeman instead.

Yelp
I had a spicy margarita and a rice bowl and added chicken. I was very happy with the quantity and quality of the food!

Yelp
Came in after the Tigers game. They have a solid drink menu, but asked if they could make me a NY sour and Dave was so rude saying "no" super curtly. I thought he was being sarcastic at first and then he continued "no I only make things off of the menu" and walked away. It was super weird/condescending so I ordered a water with lemon which actually wasn't in the menu either but.... We talked to the other bartender, Bianca, who was awesome and was honest in that "we can make anything unless if we don't have the ingredients" but then proceeded to offer alternatives. Vibes made it feel like a Dollar Store version of Queens, which we love. Hopefully they can switch up the staff to make it more inviting/comfortable for patrons.

Yelp
Everything went well! Meech & Angie are fun to be around. I was starving for a good burger & I was NOT disappointed. Great little place! Next time I'll try their sushi. Now I wanna try Two Birds! & The Egg Hunt Food Truck!

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing! I went on my birthday and the shots were delicious and the service was even better! The bartenders invited me to dance with them and they gave me plenty of birthday shots. This place has some amazing kindhearted staff that make me love Detroit even more. A must stop especially on a bar crawl :)

Yelp
Review is for Low Key, no option to review separately from Easy Peasy. I'm rounding up to a 4 versus down. Atmosphere was lacking, room extremely dark (perhaps it's not always that way but the evening myself and partner stopped in, it was. Drinks were okay, garnishment needs improvement if the plan is to compete with other area bars. Bartenders were fine, they had friends in so that could have changed their interaction with us. We plan on giving Easy Peasy a try on another evening. We did notice a baby in Easy Peasy on our way out and thought that was a tad strange.
