5 New Restaurants to Try Right Now in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"I note that Encinitas sensation Eat Crispy Burger has opened on Convoy Street as part of an ongoing expansion that includes new locations coming to Oceanside and Chula Vista; owner Ramzy Rahib is cooking up his popular smashburgers, including the “OG” Double Crispy Burger with American cheese, grilled onions, and Thousand Island dressing on a brioche bun, along with avocado oil-fried crispy chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, sides, and milkshakes." - Candice Woo

Google
As always this is my own way of rating places I visit for a meal. If the restaurant is clean and the staff is nice it’s 5 stars as long as the food is decent. Thursday around 130pm July 10th. Rolled up to the joint for an afternoon lunch and got the Bigger Better Mac Crispy Burger as a double and some crispy fry’s. The gentleman that took my order was super rad … like genuinely nice. Not like put on an act in n out nice that some of them do. Took about 10 minutes to get my food because the lunch rush probably had ended and tbh probably a few minutes too long as the burger patty was pretty dry. Bun wasn’t soggy… sauce was delicious and lettuce onions fresh. Hashbrown seemed lost in this burger and didn’t notice the cheese really. The idea of the burger seems like it should be a freaking banger but it was just okay. Service - 9.1 Atmosphere - 6.5(FastFood/Corporate/Chain Vibes) The Burger - 7.4 The Frys - 7.7 (Hot, Crispy nothing to complain about) Would I go back… probably not. If I want a smash type burger I’m going somewhere else.

These burgers can revive somebody. These burgers can cure cancer. These burgers can fuel my car. These burgers are so immaculately tasty. I love how crispy the edges of the burgers are, hence the name, and the seasoning and sauces in the burger itself make it so much better. They have wild loaded fries that were also super good, and so crispy. Onion rings are great too, just get them with sauce. All the sauce is on a tray when you walk in, free for grabs, and the prices aren't so high. PLEASE check this out, top burger choice of mine in SD.

Google
Came here with my wife and daughter, The Cowboy Crispy Burger was legit, it was an automatic 10/10 in my opinion. The flavor of the meat was on point and the bread was nice and soft, fries and onions stayed crispy! Overall you gotta check out the Crispy Burger on Convoy!

Google
The burgers are huge! I couldn't finish half of a double all american. The smash was great and crispy. However, minus 1 point for been over-salted. I love salt on my patties, but the patties were too salty. Fries are spot on. Super crispy. Will be back!

Google
Located in a small strip mall and we just managed to get in before the area got packed. More tables inside and out than the Encinitas location, so we got a table inside. Awesome Smash Burgers and fries - highly recommend. Much better than In and Out… but they haven’t figured out how to make this great quality with a drive through. Be prepared to wait when they’re busy at either of their locations. They are good - so they are popular.

Google
Not your typical American burgers. The food cooked with avocado oil! The cook and server were very nice! Crispy and fresh! The sauce is not overpowering. Just the right amount of grilled onion and dressing. Not a soggy burger and doesn’t fall apart. No vegetables, unless you want. Top it off with Mexican coke and you’re golden.

As a new Hybrid student at CIAT, my post-final stop at Crispy Burger was a delightful discovery. The restaurant's cleanliness was immediately noticeable, setting a positive tone. The old-school R&B music created a fantastic, laid-back vibe that made me feel right at home. But the real treat was the food itself, which lived up to the welcoming atmosphere. Everything I ordered was delicious and satisfying. Crispy Burger is definitely going to become a regular stop for me whenever I'm in the area. Keep up the excellent work – you've got a loyal customer now!

Google
Found this GEM! As close to perfect as it gets. The burger was epic, the onion rings were chef’s kiss good, and the service was amazing! They even have all the sauces you could want waiting for you to grab. They even had great music playing at the perfect level. Great job, guys!! You are crushing it!!

Yelp
met one of the owners at Costco. she told me about crispy burger. I had never heard of it. she suggested I try it. so my wife and I did and am I glad we did. The burger, fries and onion rings were great. burger was One of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend this place

Yelp
It's really good!! The burgers are made to order. I had the Bigger Better Mack burger and yes it was better! I would suggest ordering a double patty since they do cook their burgers smash burger style to get tray crisp. I ordered with a side of half onion rings and half fries which I appreciated that I could do because I wanted to try both. Onion rings were crispy and your typical style onion ring. The fries were shoe string style and perfect fried. There are quite a few variations of burgers to order, but the staff was very patient & friendly as we stared at the menu for a bit. There are spots to eat. It's pretty casual and clean. I'd definitely come back and try the other burgers they offer.

Yelp
Came here at the suggestion of a friend. Burgers in the middle the best Asian restaurant of San Diego?!?!?‽ Menu was relatively simple, Burgers. Ordered the OG burger w pastrami. Egg was also an option! Kids ordered the grilled cheese. Kids meals came w/ fries and a drink! Burgers were delicious. Smashed burgers w a nice crispy edge. Didn't realize you had to explicitly add lettuce; tomatoes; and pickles. Thankfully I was able to add them. Onion rings were perfectly fried and super crispy. Fries had some coating in them. Extra flavor and crunch. 10/10. Overall the restaurant is greats. Would actually consider this place over local favorites.

Yelp
Yo, Let me start by saying the Carl's Jr. Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger (DWBC) has been the gold standard for me when it comes to an onion ring/bbq sauce/bacon burger situation. Tonight, the tides shifted. My DWBC North Star is slowly fading and a new contender may be stealing the shine. This double cowboy burger was everything - crispy bacon, crunchy onion rings, Maillard on 100. And then the jalapeños to cut a bit of the richness. This thing was thoughtfully built. Adding this to the repeatable meal list - I'll be back

Yelp
A friend of mine needed a ride up to Kaiser, so after his appointment, he said he owed me lunch. Looking around, I found Crispy. I also brought Cako so I needed some place that had outdoor seating. The area has changed, and driving over, I passed it, but I knew the area because I had been to the Japanese place next door. There are three small tables out in front. When I went to order, I was going to order everything separate, but the friendly cashier said, "You need a combo." It was my first time and I didn't see that option. I recommend the combo with double patties, which includes fries and a drink. I added bacon, so for a little over $15, I felt it was a great deal! The burger was a good size and I liked the crispy edges of the burgers. Nice crispy fries! They have serve yourself fountain drinks which was great! Quite a number of people coming in and getting food to go. Cako loved it here! Especially when one of the workers came out and gave her some bacon! She has a new best friend! I'm adding Crispy to my rotation! Cako Approves!

Yelp
I love burgers and when new burger places of the "best burger place" lists come out I want to try them. My husband decided he wanted to get this for his birthday. We ordered online and he went to pick up. By the time he got home the food was only mildly warm. The burger is a smash style burger (thin and flat). To be honest the flavor of the burger was so hard to taste because the bun is so thick. I modified my burger from having: melted white american cheese, grilled onions, crispy sauce (thousand island dressing). I don't get what California's obsession is with thousand island dressing on burgers but I digress. I left the cheese and onions on my burger and pickles (taking off crispy sauce) and added mustard. The pickles were flavorless and did not add anything to the burger. I had fries and they were very crispy on the outside but were still a bit too mushy on the inside for my personal preference. I got the single burger, fries and a drink for $12.98 which I felt was a reasonable price considering meals at McDonald's cost more than that. Overall a mid experience. I don't forsee myself coming back since there are better burger options out there.

Yelp
Yet another 5 star experience at Eat Crispy. I had the OG double, Bigger Better Mack double, large fries, large onion rings. I'm never gonna turn down a burger with a super crispy hash brown inside, but I'll probably save a few bucks (contribute it toward the milkshake I'm dying to try) and just get the OG double next time instead of the Mack. The OG double is delicious, and you should not skip the fries or onion rings. I requested to substitute the raw onions with grilled onions, and MOST APPRECIATED the cashier said she would check to see if that required an extra charge (it didn't). I dislike it so much when restaurants offer you something without letting you know it costs anything & you end up with a stealth charge on your bill (e.g. Smoking Goat with their offer of bread, Abby's BBQ with their offer of ranch sauce on the side). They have a tray with buffalo, BBQ, ranch, and thousand island sauce for FREE. Plus ketchup packets. Their food doesn't need extra sauce (my husband generally doesn't use any, but I personally love drenching everything in sauce so the free sauce tray is very much appreciated). We arrived just before 11AM on a weekend, and there was zero wait. Near the end of the meal closer to noon, several large parties had arrived so it got a bit crowded. Small free parking lot with plenty of spaces when I came. There is a single occupancy restroom that was clean (automatic flush and automatic sink which I like). The hand washing station outside didn't have any soap, but usually I love the hand washing station because my hands and face are always drenched in sauces from my meal.

Yelp
Second time eating here after looking for something different in the area. Burger was really good. Crispy, smashed to smitherines (good thing!), the bun is soft and the dressing and chopped/grilled onions knock it out of the park! Onion rings are good, but nothing to write home about; I would suspect they are the same frozen variety you'd get at many places around town. Really the only thing that brings it down a notch for me is the loud music. The music is fine and there may be a reason it's so loud but it's been that way both times I visited. When you eat in it's hard to have a conversation without raising your voice. Other than that it's great food and great service! I'll be back!

Yelp
Photos speak for this place! Great food, great location and customer service was amazing. First time here and went with the Cali burger. My daughter went with the chicken nuggets which were delicious! I had a few of them myself . Couldn't leave without trying their Oreo shake. Definitely going back this weekend.

Yelp
I was expecting more based on some raving reviews on this place... It kind of hurts to give it this low of a rating but the patty itself is the most bland and flavorless I've had. It's got a really soft brioche bun which was a delight to bite into...however the flavor was just nonexistent. For how much they charge, I fear you'd get a much better bang for your buck at The Friendly or Shake Shack Crazy fries had diced onion and thousand island sauce, cannot go wrong but fries themselves were so stiff and worst consistency sadly. Tasted and felt as if they were frozen still but felt warm to the touch? Service is direct and they keep this establishment clean! Beware of limited parking in the plaza, there is street parking available nearby

Yelp
We stopped in around 7 on Saturday night with only one, maybe two tables with people at it. The staff was extremely friendly and answered any questions we had about the menu. We had one kid's sliders with fries, two all American burgers with fries, and the California burger with half fries, half onion rings. The food was out pretty quickly and was very good. The price was a little high (but most everything is these days). We'd come back if in the area in the future.

Yelp
I always saw this place as i drove by and wanted to try. We stopped by and got the cheeseburger and the cheeseburger salad. it was yummy. Place was clean and AC was blowing. Fast service and their selection of drinks were amazing.

Yelp
Since high school, I can only recall eating a hamburger once. Today was July 4th and I found myself with an ultra rare burger craving so decided to indulge in delivery. Crispy Burger was open and in my delivery zone, so decided to give it a try. Since I like thin, lean steak I figured that I might enjoy a smash burger. When ordering, I appreciated all the customization options, and added free grilled onions, mustard, ketchup and pickle. Also subbed American cheese with Swiss for $0.75 more. The price for this single burger was reasonable, and the flavor exceeded my expectations. Cooked exactly like I requested with not too much meat to bun ratio. The fries and onion rings were both crispy and not overseasoned. I hear they fry in avocado oil and are a local chain, two pluses for me. Will be back whenever my next burger craving strikes, especially since it looks like they have some yummy milkshakes that I need to try.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to have lunch at Eat Crispy Burger. The was intriguing to me. As we entered, we were quickly greeted by a young lady. The menu was a large one on the wall. We both decided to try the Original "OG" crispy burger. ( The double version ). The burger was tasty! The burger patty itself is very thin so ordering a double is like one burger to me. Between the soft bun, grilled chopped onions, and the thousand island sauce, it quickly became soggy and a hot mess quickly!! I didn't notice anything "crispy" about my burger, though. It was also on the salty side for me. I believe it would be easier to eat it with a fork and knife. Don't get me wrong, it was a very good burger! Overall, a nice burger place!! It's clean and modern. The trash area was well maintained. Parking is a shared parking lot so it can be tricky. They have extra condiments for your burger or fries. The onion rings looked tasty!! The employees were nice!! Oh! I saw that they used avocado oil! BONUS!!!

Yelp
When we first walked in, the worker was sitting at a booth eating, she said we are taking orders through the kiosk right now. Not a problem, we didn't mind ordering that way. Pretty easy. The guy who made our burgers served us. Friendly and helpful, letting us know there was ranch and ketchup at the counter. What we ordered - Plain Crispy with onion rings - I liked it. Not greasy which I liked about this smash burger. Onion rings were good. - Cowboy Crispy with fried - bf loved this burger. He ordered it without jalapeños. I thought the fries tasted a little weird and bf said it was probably the oil that was used. Overall this place was good. We would come back.

Yelp
Good burgers and a good price. Can get a smash burger for like $7 and with fries and a drink around $12. They use avocado oil and they let you know they use it when you walk in the store. Love their all day breakfast menu. Never thought I could have a good breakfast sandwich at 7:00pm. It's a typical fast food place, but just a bit nicer.love the sink next to the tables. Everyone I've encountered there has been nice and helpful. 5 stars because it's exactly what you want and a bit more than you expect from a fast food burger place.
google avatar

Yelp
Clean burger joint w/ fast service. The flat and crispy burger patties remind me of a place I love in Houston. The sauces available on the side allow you to further customize your taste preferences. Fries were also crispy and delicious too!
google avatar

Justin C.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this relatively new location of Crispy Burger for quite some time. I love a good smash burger and the Crispy Burger in Carlsbad has been a staple in my smash burger rotation. I got the original "OG" crispy burger double style ($9.99) with French fries ($2.99). This came with American Cheese, grilled onions, thousand island dressing and a brioche bun. My meal was ready quickly much to my delight. The burger patties were crisp on the edges, juicy in the middle, and packed with flavor. Self serve sauces were a must with the fries. I liked the chipotle ranch the most. We sat in one of the booths which was quite clean except for some grease on the ground which is to be expected at a burger joint. Workers were friendly and efficient and helped us get boxes and bags to bring our leftovers home. Parking was very crowded up front but thankfully there were a few spots on the side available.

Arnel D.

Yelp
Finally dropped in to decide on my own if the hype was legit. A few bites in I determined it was valid. I enjoyed the Cali Burger with half fries and onion rings. Definitely worth the visit and walking out from my car. Note they don't have a drive thru. Service was fast from Jonathan. He's super friendly and hard working. The place was clean and bright. I'd definitely return when I'm the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Food here is pretty pretty good. I can't say it comes within range of Swagyu but it is a nice combination of maybe 90% shake shack and 10% jack in the box. Jack in the box is never a bad thing imo. They are accessible, digestiable, well sized and juicy burgeys. The "animal style" fries here are so dang good. Look at that presentation! So much sauce, well mixed with cheese and onions. The fries themselves are a touch bland. They could lose 25% of their girth and be 100% better. Burgers here are decent. They patty has like no flavor or seasoning but that maillard reaction is insane. CWISPY. The burger incredients are top notch, as if they were picked up from the farmer's market. The pickles, the avacado, those lesser prominant items shined.
google avatar

Shauna G.

Yelp
First time visit and very impressed. Service is beyond friendly and helpful, clean inside and out, located in a small parking lot next to Starbucks off Convoy. Food was delivered, hot, fresh and quick, husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Fries were bomb, burgers were juicy and flavorful, they had plenty of seating indoors and also a kiosk up front for convenient ordering. Highly recommend to all!
google avatar

Kaci S.

Yelp
Literally hesitating to write this review until I've eaten here a few more times and it gets super busy. I loved this burger, these fries and the onion rings. I will be back to try the other burgers, and get a full order of the craveable fries. The onion rings are CRISP. The burger was lace thin. Honestly, bravo guys. You're killing it. We ate outside, it was gorgeous like San Diego weather is known for! The inside of the restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly.
google avatar

Ellen V.

Yelp
I've been to the Encinitas location and was excited they open a few more locations! Their onion rings and fries are really good. You have to tried their ranch! One of the best ranch that I have. For the burger, the classic smash burger is the way to go. Keep it classic with just meat and cheese and it will hit the spot. Super friendly staff as well!

Yelp
This was a huge miss for me, I fear :/ I was not expecting to be so let down after reading review after glowing review. Everything was fine--service, ambiance, parking--except the food. On paper, the Cali burger I got (it had bacon and avocado in it) is my ideal burger. I guess I've learned that I am more of a burger purist through this experience? None of these flavors and textures that typically work well were meshing well tonight for some reason. The burger was a bit too saucy and overloaded with stuff to the point where it immediately got soggy and hard to eat. The worst part is that you could not taste any of the beef's flavor; even In n Out's slim patty has it beat in that department. I was also unimpressed by the "brioche" bun, which is typically more pillowy and eggy in flavor. This just seemed like your average potato bun. Also...where is the CRISPY? Is it supposed to be the bun? The meat? I have no answer. Wait, this is the worst part. I have never met a fry I didn't like. But here? It was the first time I had chosen not to clear my plate of fries. The fries reminded me of something you'd get via a cafe that is supplied by Sysco. They were bland, stiff, and very underseasoned. The onion rings were also not much better--I would say they were on par with the panko-coated ones you can get at Jack in the Box. Sorry, but with The Friendly so close, I will not be returning. This meal was so mediocre it pissed me off.
google avatar

Andrea V.

Yelp
Really good burger spot. 100% angus beef on a soft, lightly toasted brioche bun. The burger patty was flavorful, juicy, and had crispy edges. The bun complimented the burger and seemed lightly buttered adding flavor to every bite. The fries were crispy and lightly salted. Everything was made to order, fresh, and tasted good. Worth trying! Parking in this area was hard to find at lunch time. Some street parking available but only a few spots up front in the shopping center. Service was fast and friendly. The vibe was chill and restroom was clean. There is indoor seating only and prices were average.

Yelp
Do as their name says Eat Crispy! Burger? Crisped to absolute perfection. Shakes? So good I considered ordering a second before finishing the first. The bright, fun interior made it feel like we were inside a good mood, and the kids devoured their meals like mini food critics. Only docking a star for two reasons, fries were flavorless (if I'm going to indulge in a fattening burger, I'd like my fries to be the same ) but also the freeze-dried candies that were advertised to come with the kids' meals didn't make it into the bag when we got home (partially my fault for not checking, I know!). But overall flavor, vibe, and crunch factor? Top-tier. Would definitely come back for another round!

Yelp
Good burger at a decent price. Fries crispy and delicious. Service also really good. Quick and friendly. They have a small parking lot with limited spaces and in convoy it can be hard to find parking at times. Good burger. Been here a couple tim e now. It's worth it.

Yelp
I've seen this place before while traversing the Convoy District. I went to get a deli sandwich from across the way but found them unexpectedly closed. So I headed to Crispy Burger. This place is very clean inside and has plenty of seating inside. You can order from their kiosk or from the counter. Either way theyre friendly. Their burgers are wildly delicious. Its kinda dangerous. I would love to come back here again asap! Stop in and support small business!
google avatar

Hanafi M.

Yelp
Super fast and friendly service and the staff is helpful. I could not find the pepper so they brought some directly to my table. Strictly for comparison, it's significantly better than The Jack and $2.00 less! Terrific onion rings and music form the 80's great selection of drinks. Happy to return.

Yelp
The Convoy District is the third and newest location of the Eat Crispy Burger franchise. I think the corner suite used to be an optometrist practice before it was converted to this local burger joint. The parking out front was limited, but there were more spaces behind the building. Smashburgers were definitely the featured products, however breakfast sandwiches and hot dogs were also offered. The latter wasn't available during my visit because the owner said they were still sorting out the logistics of where to source the franks. Using one of the two self-serve kiosks to the left of the service counter, I ordered a Pastrami, Egg & Cheese Sandwich and an Original "OG" Crispy Burger. The breakfast sandwiches can be purchased all day. The version I chose contained pastrami, two eggs, and melted American cheese on a buttered, toasted brioche bun. It was the better of the two products I bought because of the eggs which added a gooey component. The single 100% angus beef patty was dressed with American cheese, grilled onion, and thousand island dressing on a brioche bun. The whole burger looked smashed as it was flat. Most of the menu prices were reasonable except that a Chicago Dog and Chili Cheese Dog were each one dollar more expensive than the single patty Crispy Burgers. The inside of the suite could seat about two dozen customers and was well-kept. My overall experience at Eat Crispy Burger was quite positive so I gave a four star rating.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food there. The burger was delicious and I got half fries half onion rings also on point staff super the place is super clean. Definitely coming back for round two come check that out.

Yelp
I I had a pretty good breakfast sandwich from this Eat Crispy Burger. I picked the bacon and eggs with American cheese for $7.99, and I added a hash brown for $2.99 and tomatoes and onions for free. There's actually quite a bit of items you can add to your breakfast sandwiches: some for free and some for a fee. The breakfast sandwich came with a couple of fried eggs over medium and hidden underneath, which were several slices of thin cut bacon. I liked the addition of the crispy hash brown for added texture and flavor. The onions were of the chopped variety and were crunchy, and the tomato slices were fresh. It was a very good size and tasty breakfast sandwich. I was quite full afterward. The white American cheese came well melted and the bun toasted and warm. They don't offer coffee because of Starbucks being in the same strip mall. The service was very good. The ladies and gents at the counter had a good sense of humor. Even Ramzy, one of the owners, was there setting up a new printer and talking to the employees. Good breakfast.

Yelp
Excited to try this place out! Parking lot is small but there are additional spots around the back. The service was incredible - everyone was super friendly and welcoming. There are 2 tablets for ordering but it wasn't super busy when we went so they just took our order at the counter. Love the flexibility to make things more efficient when it is busy! The environment was clean with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. I had the single OG burger, small combo with onion rings. We also ordered the Cali Crispy burger, large combo with fries. The burgers were tasty - patties were well flavored and juicy. The bun is brioche so definitely on the sweet side. I think I would prefer if the bun was toasted and slightly less soft, which it was good regardless! Both fries and onion rings were great. There are an assortment of sauces like ranch, thousand Island, BBQ, and buffalo you can grab. I think the small combo is sufficient unless you are sharing the side. The large fries were HUGE! There is a soda machine was Pepsi products and a fridge with canned and bottled options as well. They did not have milkshakes available yet when I visited, so would be curious to check them out next time!

Yelp
I was craving a good burger and I like the crispness of a smash burger. My coworkers and I decided to order online for pick up. I decided on the original double smash with a small side of onion rings. I will start off by saying these burgers are priced fine. It ended up being $10 for the burger and $5 for 5 onion rings. The burger was okay. For some reason it ate really dry so I added more mayo and then poured ranch on my burger. This made it taste better but also not as dry. The onion rings were okay. There was nothing special about them, just plain panko breaded style. The ranch was at least good to dip them in. I'll be honest for the price, I expected more. While better than some of the other smash burgers in the area, I still don't think I'd visit again. Nothing was special or unique that makes me want to come back.

Yelp
Been planning to go here since I saw the name posted on the building. It's a block away from the Clairemont Mesa and Convoy intersection and shares the building with Starbucks, Koli, and Yakyudori. There is construction in the area so parking is not as abundant as it once was. I went around early lunch when there was no line. Service was fast and friendly. Order at the counter or at the kiosk, which I did not use. Love the fact that they use avocado oil and even have a separate fryer for the french fries to keep it truly gluten free for those who have dietary restrictions. Had the cowboy burger and onion rings. Jalapenos gave the burger a good kick. Normally the flavor of onion rings gets old after 2 but I didn't feel that way with theirs. Pretty awesome food!

Yelp
Look at this! Day 2 of me posting a review consecutively, lol. Now.. Onwards to the food....! We've tried the Encinitas location (once) sometime last year and was quite impressed. Little did we know, one was about to open up on our stomping grounds (Convoy). It's clear the restaurant just opened. In fact, the worker we spoke with mentioned it had just been a few weeks since its opening! It's bright and clean inside, with massive and comfy seating booths. They also have a self-serve kiosks you can order through. One of the main inconveniences I see for this location is parking. To be specific.... there are currently: a Japanese dessert place next door, a Japanese restaurant (ramen/yakitori spot), a Starbucks, and, of course, this place (side note: I've been to all these restaurants and they're all solid!). Plus, it looks like there's housing units being built right next to this complex where Dixieland used to be (RIP). Get the picture?! Looking beyond yet another complex with not enough parking spots... The food itself is delicious, but it doesn't come without flaws. We both got the OG Crispy Burger. In the Encinitas location, however, we had The Plain Crispy Burger. Interestingly, I prefer the latter. I found the thousand island sauce in the OG somewhat... clashing with the savory-ness of the burger. I do think Crispy burger is a lot like The Friendly (which is a HIGH compliment). For sides, we ordered Crispy Crazy Fries and small (onion) rings. The Crispy Crazy Fries is tasty but I wouldn't be ordering it anytime soon. Although, I suspect it is the perfect munchy meal. It's massive and perfect to share. The onion rings fell a bit short. We found the batter just slightly too thick/too much "bite." If you prefer that, then this is for you! The staff were efficient and amicable. Easy 5/5. I do think we would come back here again soon. Their hotdogs and shakes have peaked my interest and I'm hoping they'll deliver. They also have a "burger bowl," which could be perfect for those that may be cutting calories or doing keto. Hurry and come check out Eat Crispy Burger before they become too popular!!! PS-- AN ENDEARING NOTE TO EAT CRISPY BURGER MANAGEMENT: "CLAIM" YOUR BUSINESS, SO I DON'T PUT YOU IN MY "THEY'RE RAW DOGGING THIS ON YELP" CATEGORY!!!

Yelp
Parking - slim, shared with a Starbucks so it's busy. Construction going on so street parking is taken by workers. Spots on side and back but again, taken by construction workers. Homeless sit outside at the tables. Staff were friendly and greeted us. Place order and register or kiosk. Self serve drinks. Seating inside and out. Tried: Food was hot and fresh! Onion rings - hot but a little overcooked. Taste was great. Western bacon burger - got a double. It was good. Jalapenos were nicely spicy. Didn't like the bacon as it was kind of hard and chewy. $20 for the double Western burger with a combo small onion ring/drink. For those who are gluten free, they have a separate fryer to prevent cross contamination! I'll be back once all the construction in the area is done.

Yelp
Woo-hoo! It's now open. We usually eat at the Eninitas location and decided to try this new location. Parking lot was pretty crowded, but there is also street parking. Drum roll...dine in seating!! Service was fantastic! The food is just as delicious as the other location. Decided to get the Monster breakfast sandwich. This thing is HUGE. Definitely more than one meal. It was delicious, bacon was crispy and everything tasted fresh and hot. You can order breakfast sandwiches any time they are open. We also went with our usual. The Double OG. You can't go wrong with that. It is hot, juicy savory and delicious we definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Was great to have a gluten free burger, bun, and fries to eat safely. However, I see why the burgers are crispy-they are so thin that they barely hold together. I advise getting TWO patties to have a regular burger depth. Note there are no ketchup and mustard bottles on the table and it's difficult to squeeze out sufficient ketchup from individual packets to use on fries. Ask the counter person to give you a squirt. Music is a bit loud and parking is a nightmare with limited spots and no street lights or crosswalks when you don't get one of the spots...but worth it to have a tasty safe burger! Confirmed fries have their own gf oil in separate fryer.

Yelp
I was a big fan of the OG location in Solana Beach, and was very happy a location opened up near me. Been here a few times for both breakfast and burgers. Staff was very hospitable. Service was excellent and super quick.

Yelp
It's small inside, but there is still some seating. Staff is very friendly and the food was excellent. The kiosk is definitely the way to go. It makes ordering it makes it more efficient and you don't realize how many options there until you use the kiosk.

Yelp
I refuse to check my to go order because I just want to assume people can do their job. But now multiple times they've forgotten something. There's nothing more frustrating than getting home and not having your food. I don't even care about the money, it's the fact that I didn't get my entire order. I also wasn't able to put in my points the last two times I went here.

Yelp
The food is great and tasty. Family ordered a OG double, OG single and a kids meal sliders. Only having on kiosk can make the line long but I understand how doing that saves manpower to be used with actually getting food out to the customers. Smaller sitting space but very clean and orderly even with all the people coming and going. Only issue I had was that we had was that we got a kids meal and when we asked about the crispy candy, they told us it does not come with crispy candy and never has. Their menu needs to be updated then because it clearly states Crispy Candy coming with the kids meal.

Yelp
Quick simple burger place. Food was good. Typical stream line operation these days. Kiosk ordering, which is efficient but lacking in customizing. I had a plain burger added hash browns and an egg. Hash brown is a paddy, I would not have added it if I knew that. I also added an egg, it was over hard. My preference is over easy to make the burger moist. No fault of the preparation as there is no place to specify. Next visit I plan to interact more with the staff to get things to my preference. Potentially trying the chili next time. Overall a good experience with a courteous staff.

Yelp
Our obsession started with the OG location in Encinitas a couple years ago! Then National city, and now the closest one to us which is Kearney Mesa! Never been happier to have one of my fave burger places close by-literally takes so much to not go there for lunch all the time! Service 5 stars-- staff is so friendly and they give great suggestions to newbs. Food 5 stars, would be a 10 if I could. If you like smash burgers, these are legit! My go to is the all american single (it's still huge), no onion for me. Lettuce is crispy and goes so well with the burger, which is juicy instead of dry like so many other smash burger places. The hubby loves the Mack burger with hashbrowns, and I finally had a bite last night and can see why it's so popular. Maybe next time for me... we always get the half fries/onion rings- so crispy and flavorful. Shakes are so rich & creamy too.

Yelp
Good spot to satisfy a burger craving. Staff was super friendly and welcoming, food came out in no time. The OG burger was delicious, just a little plain. The All American burger was even better with the fresh veggies. Fries and onion rings were fried to perfection. I appreciate having a sink in the dining area, it made it easy to wash up quickly. Unfortunately, the paper towels gave off an odd smell, which made me wash my hands again. This location did seem a bit understaffed needing to use the kiosk to order food. It was noticeable that this place was not very clean. Tables were kind of messy and the kitchen didn't look the most sanitary. Other than that, I enjoyed my visit here :)
