London’s New Restaurant Openings

"While you and your sibling still struggle to share a portion of chips, this sister duo has opened a Borough Yards restaurant together. They’ll be serving momos from a takeaway hatch and their riverside terrace. Expect Nepali dumplings stuffed with pork mince, paneer, and chicken. There’ll also be snacks and ice cream sandwiches from Happy Endings. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Eat Momo - Review - Borough - London - The Infatuation

"Eat Momo is not only one of our daily affirmations, it’s also the name of this bright, breezy, yet decidedly mediocre restaurant in Borough Yards. It’s a canteen-type space with plenty of cheery pseudo sunshine accents to help passing office workers forget the rain. The Nepali dumpling headliners are handmade, but their vacation in the freezer doesn't end well. Although we’ve encountered plenty of frozen dumpling success stories in our time, these arrive soggy, molten, or falling apart quicker than us in the midst of a break-up. For a quick lunch in the area, you’re better off risking an encounter with a tourist’s selfie stick for something excellent in Borough Market. video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley photo credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Pause Unmute Food Rundown Pork Momo This is reliable, a bit soft, and has a sincere commitment to structural integrity. Both times we tried this pork number the wrapper was a little congealed but dutifully intact, and the filling has an—albeit very subtle—salty flavour. Fight the good momo fight, little guy. photo credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Paneer Momo The inside is like molten lava that appears to have a vendetta against the surface of our tongue. The milky, mild flavours of the paneer are entirely overwhelmed by carrot. Paging the nearest spice rack, these momo need you. Vegetable Momo Soggy chaos. And we say this as people who are prone to leaving our umbrellas at home, so we’re seasoned experts in the field. The moisture from the white cabbage and soy chunks causes some intense wrapper tears at the slightest nudge of a chopstick. Tomato Achar Although this achar lacks the polite kick of chilli we’re after and has a much creamier texture than others we’ve tried, it definitely does taste like tomato with a little warming, nutty aftertaste. And that’s something." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Tucked away near Borough Market, Eat Momo is a quiet and easily accessible spot from London Bridge. The restaurant serves authentic Nepalese fare — I tried a bowl of 10 large Momos for £16.50, which were genuinely flavorful and well-made. There was a noticeable 25-minute wait, but the quality made up for it. Looking forward to returning and sampling more of their dishes next time.

We had two sides and two large portions of momos, and 2 cans of rosé each. Slaw - fresh though a bit on the pricey side for the size. Spicy Momos are more sweet and spicy in my opinion. We also had the pork fried momos - though it preferred the chill momos. The side of chilly sauce is spicier. The way the half portion (5pcs) Vs large (10pcs) pricing is structured you may just want to get large. I took a few home. It wasn't busy at all when we visited on Wednesday evening. It was the end of the day and food is ordered at the counter, so the server was polite enough.Roadside (though not many cars), quick eats style eating but still pleasant enough to savour a moment of yum food, with friends.

I have been to eat Momo multiple times and enjoyed their food every visit but today I wanted to try something else so I had to e rice which was great like their other dishes. Eat Momo is a must go if you are in this area.

It is a cute place with good ambience. The service was good and staff was friendly. 3 star for food because I am an Indian, I have had a lot of Nepali momos in my life. The momos tasted below average. The price for 10 pieces of momos was £13.5, however the taste was 5/10. We bought two plates - chicken and paneer momos. The chutneys were good, and momos were juicy (mostly watery as the juice was not as good), the filling inside did not taste as good. The filling could use some salt and some more spices. There was more outer layer than the filling which was not at all anticipated. Overall I would rate 5 out of 10 for the prices, as I found it to be expensive, and I wasn’t even satisfied. However for most people, it could be used as a little go to snack place for half plate of momos. This place has accessible toilets.

My expectations for this new restaurant were pretty high. Even still, the experience was incredibly unsatisfactory. I order two variations of momo, which is their speciality. It was totally dry. The stuffing was far from ideal, and the exterior layer was extremely thick. There was absolutely no seasoning on the food!

While on the way to ‘the Globe’- we saw this Nepalese momo joint. Being from that area, my love for momo is still intact, and I changed my direction to this small but cute ‘yellowful’ joint. And the wife did not miss to mention ‘Haven’t you just had your lunch?” Come on, one plate of momo can’t hurt my tummy :P Seems it is newly opened, and the owner (founded by sisters Trishna and Dipa Chamling) did give an intro about the joint. As I had my lunch like 20 minutes back, but I had to try their momo so I only ordered half plate chicken momo. The dumplings are fresh and juicy, with well-spiced fillings, so they’ll definitely satisfy your dumpling cravings. You can get them in half (5-piece) and full (10-piece), so they’re perfect for lunch alongside snacks like chickpea flour chips and spiced potato, carrot, cucumber, onion, and sesame salad. There’s also a takeaway hatch, so you can grab your momos to go, too. There are more tables on the first floor. Trendy décor.!!

Delicious momos, served with two spicy sauces. The paneer momos were divine and were not like any I had tried before. Great eatery for a bite for lunch!

Great find for anyone craving bold, homestyle NEPALI flavors. Spotted this charming Nepali eatery on the edge of Borough Market and couldn’t resist trying their famous momos—both steamed chicken and kothey. They were surprisingly tasty, especially with the spicy, flavorful achars (pickles). The menu also features authentic Nepali bites like pangra, aloo dum, choila, and sukuti. Recommended !
