"In terms of effort, Alison Roman’s lasagna recipe is about the same amount of work as Chandler’s, but its makeup sits at the midpoint between his and Nosrat’s recipes — it’s red-sauce forward, but has more creaminess and cheese. It’s vegetarian, unless you opt for the very Roman inclusion of an anchovy in your tomato sauce. That said, I don’t think the anchovy is essential, but the optional tomato paste is worth including for a richer flavor." - Bettina Makalintal

We ate here for the first time this evening and we were very impressed. Beautiful fresh pasta with beautiful handmade sauces. We tried three different dishes and all were excellent. Furthermore the owner was friendly and passionate about his place of business and the kitchen area that you can see right from the door was emaculately clean. A family run restaurant with so much love in every bite of their food! We will absolutely return!

Google
What a wonderful experience! The food was delicious! Normally I don’t like tiramisu, but this one was so creamy, I ate the whole thing! We were also able to buy some made-to-order pasta to take home. We’ll definitely be back!

Carolyn Murphy

Google
Delicious! Each plate of pasta comes with a side salad and a warm roll. We had the cannelloni and the zucchini ravioli with a tiramisu to go. I appreciated how fresh everything tasted. Note: There are only 4 tables inside, lots of people coming in to pick up to go orders, no wine or beer served.

Google
By far one of the best Authentic Italian Restaurants. I recommend every dish because they are all so amazing. The owners are very nice people that make sure you are always satisifed!

Valerie Viola

Google
In this place you will find authentic Italian food! the flavor of the sauce is perfect! The attention was excellent… I ordered a lasagna that was incredible… and the tiramisu cannot be stopped!

Google
We took a course here to make gnocchi. The instructor was knowledgeable, but more importantly, extremely passionate. We had incredible ravioli to sample that they made, and our gnocchi came out Delicious with an incredibly tasty sauce. Absolutely loved our time here!

Google
Absolutely incredible!! The best Italian restaurant, hands down, no contest. I wish I could eat here every day. The owners provide excellent service, and they serve real, authentic, Italian food. I have been missing my Nana’s cooking and Eataliana makes me feel like I am sitting at her kitchen table again. Thank you.

Google
We ordered to go and the food was amazing! This is the third time we’ve eaten here. The butter sage sauce with the sunflower ravioli was to die for! Easily in my top 5 best meals ever. The owners are great people too. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Yelp
This is the best best Italian restaurant in MI.. we been going for every special occasion to Eataliana. Food is just amazing and delicious. Eataliana is a family owned restaurant from Italy So it is more authentic food. It is a small restaurant with 4 tables and very casual. Owner is very friendly and love to talk to them when we go there. Such warm and happy environment they have created at that place. They make best tiramisu and must try. Their pasta is simply delicious as they make everything fresh. This place has spoilt us as we don't like to go anywhere for Italian food but only to Eataliana.

Ned I.

Yelp
All of the pasta served at Eataliana is made in-house. The antipasto salad is the real deal. Some places use ham along with pepperoni or salami, but Eataliana uses prosciutto. The fettuccini chicken alfredo, halfmoon (pesto) ravioli, square (salsa rosa) ravioli, and 4 cheese (marinara) ravioli were all worth trying. Of those, the salsa rosa, which is a palomino sauce, was definitely my favorite. The lasagna is a good option, as well. To top things off, my wife and I had both the regular and fruit tiramisus. Both were good, but I did prefer the regular. If you're a fan of traditional Italian cuisine, this is a place you have to try at least once.

Brett W.

Yelp
This is now our go to spot for carry out dinners. The pasta and sauces are executed so well. Loved everything we have tried.

Becca W.

Yelp
Moved to the area so now I'm super close to Eataliana so I'm super stoked. Decided to go for carry out dinner tonight. Of course Zack got Lasagna which was divine I even took a bite. I ordered the ravioli and the Amatriciana with the four cheese was absolutely delicious! So happy to be close to great pasta!

Sohaib L.

Yelp
Finally made it to this place after trying for a long time. We ordered spaghetti with angry sauce, and ravioli with salsa rosa. The spaghetti was my favourite. Spaghetti was thicker and slightly tougher, kind of like lentil spaghetti. Angry sauce was great and I loved how much cheese was on the spaghetti. Overall great flavour. With ravioli it just felt like I was missing something in the dish. Miguel helped us, he was super friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming. It's a small place for dine in, they were very busy, but it was cozy. I would come back for a quick bite again.

Boris D.

Yelp
I have been buying home made pasta and various sauces from Eataliana for the last 3 years and all I have to say is everything I had was nothing short of stellar. I had Italian cuisine all over major cities in the US and in Italy as well - it simply doesn't get better than that. As a last test we decided to cater my daughter grad party from those guys - and once again it was a hit! I had two people came up to me and told me that this was the best Chicken Parmigiana and pasta they ever had. I don't eat poultry but sausage with peppers was arguably the best I ever had. The owner is a fantastic guy from Italy and we always have a laugh every time I stop by.

Victor A.

Yelp
The place is a pasta factory and a restaurant for fun. The best pasta in Macomb county. You can't say enough about this place I have been twice now and I have to say both times it was amazing! The last time I was there I tried 5 different dishes and all of them were . Yes I tried 5 dishes I know it sounds very glutinous but I was with another greedy person my partner JR and he tried a bit of each one as well. He actually came there after I ordered and didn't know what was coming. It's a small 3-4 tables inside the ambiance is fast casual. It's a place you go to so you can purchase pasta ravioli and lasagna to make at home and show off like your a gourmet! I didn't discover this hidden gem I owe to my friend GJon who kept ranting and raving about it. He literally tried convincing me to open a restaurant and use his pasta and sauce to make it successful. All in all this place rocks and you should try it but for me the spicy rigatoni was amazing the meatballs are unreal and the lasagna..... forget about it! How you doing! The owner is straight from back home and he makes sure you are welcomed properly. Great service and great food. Manga

Holly H.

Yelp
We have eaten here twice. Once for carry-out and once dining in. I would highly recommend the chicken fettuccine. You can't go wrong with any of their desserts.

Kaylee C.

Yelp
Ohhh myyyy goddd, this place is such a gem. It's that little family run spot that's humble, but packs a hell of a punch. It's very unassuming when you walk in, but when you get that pasta home you'll wonder how such cuisine came out of such a little secret store. This place has to be run by little Italian grandma and grandpas, because I cannot express to you in words how good the food is. This food turned a long hard day at work into a little slice of peace. Eating this pasta felt like being home (spoiler: I'm not even Italian...). I'm coming back. I'm bringing friends. I'm shouting it from the rooftops. Very friendly folks, too. YOU NEED TO HAVE THIS FOR DINNER, as soon as you see this review.

Joel W.

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing! I don't usually do reviews but this place is outstanding! So much so that I'm leaving a 2nd review! I went here again to have some pasta and was met by the very welcoming staff (the owner and his wife are very personable and pleasant!) They make you feel very welcomed; the space is very warm and inviting. The owner urged me to try something different so as to experience the variety of flavors they had to offer. I asked him to surprise my wife and I (taking into account that I'm allergic to shellfish). He prepared a dish for me comprised of linguine, anchovies and sweet blistered cherry tomatoes with a light sauce made with premium, flavorful olive oil! The dish was balanced and light! Very tasty! My wife had fettuccine and chicken Alfredo with fresh made pesto! The pimentos and fresh basil in the pesto really shined; it transformed the dish from being a simple Alfredo preparation to something bursting with freshness from the basil that was plucked from a basil plant sitting on a shelf in the dining room!) This restaurant has the best Italian food I've had in a very long time! This place is a must try!

Rolf K.

Yelp
Always spectacular food. Anything you order you will really enjoy. Friendly owners too.

Razeen G.

Yelp
just adding on to the already 5 stars this place has cuz it deserves it and i've been here many times. veggie lasagna. GAS. chicken alfredo. GAS. mezzemaniche or penne with arrabbiata or palomino sauce. GAS. even the tiramisu. GAS. pasta is always cooked al dente and handmade in the back, and you can tell. only gripe is there's too many pork options but that's italy for you

Christina G.

Yelp
The family is amazing. Friendly, funny and just good people making good food. You won't have pomp and front of the house here 3 four top tables, 1 2 top all booths. Kitchen door is open and the women in the back are on the food. Which is simply divine- there are few other Italian places where everything tastes this amazing- and the unassuming atmosphere really makes it like your Italian neighbors from Roma, Italy let you come in their home. We had lasagna, linguine with clams, and seafood ravioli. Three salads with Italian- the other choice is balsamic. But that's the question Italian or balsamic. Drinks are all bottled. No liquor. The family is warm, and the food is amazing- takeout is used a lot by regulars. They also have an extensive freezer section- looking forward to all our frozen pastas later! Yum!

Linda D.

Yelp
The best pasta ever! Homemade by this wonderful, warm, friendly, and funny family! Recently, we ordered trays of food for a family party from here....everything was divine! And, they are so helpful and try to accommodate your needs. The Chicken Parmigiana was the best we have ever had! Italian Sausages with Peppers (and potatoes) were top notch. We also ordered a tray of Halfmoon (no meat) Pasta stuffed with ricotta cheese, parmigiano reggiano and spinach, paired with Salsa Rosa sauce, and a tray of Strozzapreti Twisted Pasta with Salsa-mia (Italian sausage, ground beef, tomato sauce and wine) and parmigiano reggiano cheese. Everything was so delicious! We had several guests compliment the food and ask where it was from. Mostly a carry-out catering place, but they do have a few tables to dine in. We get the homemade pasta and sauce to go from here. They also have items in their freezer section to take home and bake for later. And, chatting with the charismatic owner is the best part!

Richard W.

Yelp
How about another update just to wet your appetite. If you need your Italian meal fix today or any day, stop here!! No need to drive any further! This is not just a restaurant...it's the owners extension of his home! They treat you as if it family sunday and you're their guest. They have your needs covered from salad to rolls to dinner and end with dessert! If this doesn't satisfy your need for Italian then you didn't come to the right place! TRUST ME,,YOULL LOVE IT! MANGAAA

Melissa J.

Yelp
This place is not for the foo foo folks But I felt like I was in Italy, no frills warm hearted italian eats. The best!!

Deanna T.

Yelp
Food amazing.. service amazing.. and ambiance it's exactly what I was looking for no frills.. super casual

Adam L.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner, had the spaghetti and meatballs. It was perfection. Can't wait to come back and try something else. Believe the hype, this place is pure fire. Definitely recommend.

Liz P.

Yelp
This place has awesome pasta. A friend had been talking about it and we had takeout at her house tonight; it's in Shelby Twp. near her. We ordered: -standard linguini with red sauce - great al dente pasta (all are homemade!) but I probably wouldn't order it again since everything else was so spectacular. -zucchini ravioli, with prosciutto. Delicious and interesting. -lasagna with meat sauce - she mentioned it has some sort of veal in it. Also amazing. -fettucine with mushrooms - I'm a huge fan of mushrooms so I really enjoyed this one too. -side salads, though maybe it came with the pasta? Not sure. Also bread, which I was expecting to be garlicky or something but it was not. And for dessert: -tiramusu. Good but too much coffee... I'm weird in that tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts but I don't like coffee, so a strong coffee-tasting tiramisu is not my preference. -fruit tiramisu. I liked this a lot more but it just tasted like a very fluffy fruit cake. -cannolis. These were good and very authentic-tasting but I had just had a different cannoli earlier in the week which was better, I would still recommend these though. My friend offered me leftovers to take home and I declined and now I am wishing I took her up on her offer, especially with the lasagna and fettuccine as both were fantastic. This is not in my neck of the woods but I'm hoping to come back at some point, I believe they also have half-baked pasta that you can continue baking at home. My friend also said the restaurant itself is a little market and there are a few tables and chairs there but not a ton, so it sounds like most of their business is takeout.

Kathy D.

Yelp
So happy my SIL and I decided to live on the wild side and try a new Italian restaurant! Enjoyed the zucchini ravioli and my SIL loved her cheese ravioli ...oh, and the fruited tiramisu!! Yum.

Wolverine J.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem!! The food is excellent. There is no better pasta place around:)-

Brad P.

Yelp
It's literally the best. Carry out or sauce and pasta to take home. Great people and better food

Marlon Y.

Yelp
Absolutely the best pasta in Mi. Super authentic super friendly. I had the chicken parm and id eat it everyday for the rest of my life. Im not a salad person but his balsamic is to die for i could drink it out of the bottle. The sauce is out of this world i cannot think of a better italian place that i have eaten at. Mind you i have ate at plenty of italian friends homes and this just knocks them all out. Bravo wish you the best will definitely be coming to eat on the regular.

Nancy S.

Yelp
Best Pasta you can order in the area, all made from scratch! Sauces are authentic and everything is made with love which you can taste. Try the desserts too, and take some frozen pasta home from their freezer. They have a small outdoor patio when the weather is nice and the service is very friendly.

Kaleigh W.

Yelp
Pasted on the corner of a hardware store in a small lot, you wouldn't do a double glance at this place if you drove by it. But did their food absolutely blow my mind once I tried it. This is as authentic Italy outside of Italy as it gets. We ordered two pastas, the Half Moon Ravioli and spaghetti with meatballs, with a side of bread to go. While waiting for our order, we talked for a bit with the owner who was very kind. You could tell this business was his life and he truly cared about his food. I really love to see that in a restaurant owner. The food was so incredibly good and filling, each dish made for two meals at home. The breadsticks were hard to put down too. Next time you're in the mood for Italian, THIS is the only answer!

Rachel H.

Yelp
Homey and warm unassuming with an authentic Italian feel that's unique in the sense it's not Americanized Italian food we're so used to. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente with a lovely mouth feel and bite, dressed perfectly with simple yet delicious sauces. Friendly front of house. Speedy service. Dine in space is limited maybe 5 or so tables.

Gerry M.

Yelp
Does not look like much on the outside and has very limited seating. But omg!! The authentic and amazing homemade sauces and pasta could be in New york at twice the price . Legit fresh pasta! I had the MeZzaemananiche pasta with the Amatricana sauce. Bacon tomato and olive oil. If the lady in the kitchen was my grandma I would be 300 pounds. The need to open a full sized place. Get a carry out too.

Shelley B.

Yelp
Wonderful choices for carry out. Accommodating service-eager to assist with entree choices.

Jason T.

Yelp
I have always been an honest Yelper and cannot lie about my dining experience at Eataliana. The reason I preface that statement before my review is that upon entering the establishment the owner was very kind and friendly. You have to rate the entire experience. I ordered the Linguini and clams in a white wine sauce. It had no flavor at all even though I ordered it spicy. Very little clams were found. My wife said her ravioli was nothing special. She did not like the mixture of cheese and meat. My friend had the spaghetti and meatballs which he thoroughly enjoyed. I tried a meatball and it was tasty. For dessert my wife ordered the cannoli but felt that the cream didn't taste real. Both vanilla and chocolate ones tasted the same. More of a carry out spot than dine in as there are only 3 tables.

Thomas B.

Yelp
This place has been on my WISHLIST for a few years now. Finally after golfing 15 mins from the restaurant, my wife and I decided to visit. The food quality is amazing and the service received from Mihal early this evening was courteous, friendly, and prompt. We can easily understand why YELP recently recognized this restaurant as the Best of the Best in the Detroit area. For anyone who truly loves pasta, you must make the trip to this location . Keep in mind that they only offer 4 inside tables for table service but being summer, there are a few more tables outside as well. They say a picture paints a thousand words, so we have included a few for your viewing pleasure as well. Mangia!!

Sukhmani B.

Yelp
The pastas, salads, and desserts always taste so divine. The staff is nothing but kind and thoughtful. Every interaction with them makes me want to come back every week for a meal. Best italian restaurant around.

Nomita R.

Yelp
We loved all the vegetarian options. The angel hair and penne pastas with 'Angry (Spicy Arabiatta) sauce were lip smacking delicious! Both the pasta and sauce are home-made are very fresh. We also had the veggie lasagna. Not too cheesy, plenty of veggies and cooked to perfection! The ambience was cosy and the owner and his family very friendly. What a pleasant experience! Can't wait to go back!

Anna R.

Yelp
Love their food here!! So goooooood! Stopped in and wasn't sure what to expect. Everything is made fresh. Will definitely be back again soon.

Bruce B.

Yelp
Very good. Very small. Pretty much carryout. Food was hot and ready when they said that it would be.

Sandy L.

Yelp
Came here with my boyfriend after a long bike ride. I was craving pasta and this was a great place to come. We were greeted by the owner who was very nice. Overheard a customer say the lasagna is the best so I had to get it and indeed it was delicious but very heavy. Couldn't finish it all so had to take half of it home. My boyfriend had the mushroom pappardelle and it was creamy and light. The owner wanted us to take the homemade dessert home but we were too stuffed!

Joe T.

Yelp
No frills spot for excellent homemade pasta. There is limited seating here but it's perfect as a takeout option.

Ashley L.

Yelp
Eataliana Homemade Pasta is INCREDIBLE! You absolutely have to try it! They have some tables and do a ton of carryouts/ catering meals. You can even buy bulk fresh homemade pasta for later! This place is truly a hidden gem...

Lily C.

Yelp
This was amazing I got the 4 cheese ravioli and the kids got the spaghetti and they loved it and the 4 cheese ravioli was awesome to service was great also! I really recommend coming here!

Kim Y.

Yelp
I heard a lot of good things about this place so decided to check it out ordered two dinners $40 for carry out the food was OK not worth $40

Christal P.

Yelp
Eataliana is one of the best mom and pop Italian restaurants in Macomb County. You'll find authentic Italian food made in-house as well as fresh cut pasta sold by the pound. The owners are Italian and the man who runs the operation is always friendly. As you see from its five-star Yelp rating, people who discover this hidden gem love it. It's literally a small shop hidden next to an Ace Hardware Store. You wouldn't expect to find amazing food in a location like this. For what you get, the prices are a deal. The portion sizes are pretty large. Take a look at my photo of the #8 Lasagna as an example. Most items on the menu cost less than $14, and each pasta order comes with a fresh side salad and these amazingly tasty bread rolls. Pasta like this at a fancy restaurant would certainly cost two times more. If you are craving authentic Italian pasta during the pandemic, this is the perfect place for take out. Just call in your order and pick it up in 20-30 minutes. The menu can be found here on Yelp and at http://www.eatalianapasta.com. I've enjoyed everything I've ordered here, but my favorites are the #2 Sunflower Ravioli - a simple pasta with delicious butter sage sauce - and the #13 Pappardelle with sausage and creamy mushroom sauce.

Jeremiah T.

Yelp
Food is great. Everything fresh. Took the wife out for our anniversary since we love Italian and fresh homemade pasta. I have tried the fettuccine Alfredo and the half moon ravioli. TERRIFIC. Tried their fruit cake as well and it was delicious. Great place. Friendly staff. Recommend

Emily B.

Yelp
My fiancé and I ate this together while house sitting. The fettuccine alfredo was some of the most fantastic pasta I've ever had! This place makes the best pasta! I love the tiramisu too

Raagini Y.

Yelp
Super good. Tiny place with not a ton of seating but honestly extremely delicious food. Very fresh pasta and ravioli and good bread. Good service - it was really nice to chat with the owner. Recommend.

Lily N.

Yelp
I came here quite some time ago and forgot to write a review, but I'll never forget how delicious and fresh the pasta was! And not to mention the amazing customer service I had. I ordered the half moon ravioli, mezzemaniche, and the penne. All of which were amazing! The sauces were all so flavorful, but the penne was my favorite. The penne had the amatricana sauce and it was so flavorful and bold I couldn't get enough of it! I wish they included meat in the pasta but I could look past it. When I was talking to the owner he was such a friendly man. He was telling me the options of what I could do next time. He told me that I could order pasta in bulk and the sauce and it would be cheaper and I could make it at home, so I'm definitely going to try that next time! Highly recommend, 10/10 try the pasta!

Judith B.

Yelp
This tiny family run restaurant is in an odd location next to an ACE Hardware store. It has 3 booths inside and does have outdoor seating. Most of their business seemed to be carryout. The owner did seem genuinely sweet. As a person of Italian heritage, I had really high hopes when I noticed the owner was from Italy. My husband and I both ordered lasagna and cannolis. The lasagna was good and looked delicious. I so wanted it to be great. My only criticism was that it was too bland for my liking. I expected it to be bursting with flavor. However, it was still good and the cheese on top had slight burn spots which is how I like it. Due to a slight language barrier, I ended up with chocolate cream filled cannolis instead of chocolate chip cannolis. So due to that, I most likely wouldn't order them again. I will say the shell was delicious. It is a good meal.

Rachel F.

Yelp
Incredible homemade pasta. The mushroom sauce was outstanding and the ravioli was great. We bought some to-go as well and it cooked well. Definitely the best Italian I've had in the northern Metro Detroit area.

Jen B.

Yelp
I didn't expect to be leaving this negative of a review, but here it is. This place has been on our list for awhile, based on all of the amazing reviews. I'm sad to say that we were extremely disappointed. I don't get the hype. We were greeted by the owner and were really impressed with how nice and friendly he was. We were hopeful the food would be out of this world since he had a pretty strong Italian accent. I had the Pappardelle and it was just okay. Not a lot of sausage or mushrooms in the dish. My boyfriend had the spaghetti and meatballs and we couldn't believe how bad it was. The meatballs were very weird, almost worse than frozen from the grocery store. The sauce was strange as well. I am giving 2 stars because of the nice owner and it seemed like the pasta was well made/fresh. Hopefully it was just an off day for them, but we will not be back. It's really disappointing to spend that much money on food and we threw it away.

Ibrahim M.

Yelp
By far the best pasta I have ever tried in 15 years living in Detroit metro area. This is true Italian flavors. Don't miss this place!

Alicia P.

Yelp
Best homemade pasta and sauces. Owners were fantastic, even told us how to prepare our pastas to-go.

Pat B.

Yelp
Very small facility for eating in, but great carry out. Food is delicious and the staff very courteous .
