"Best for: Dads who are foodies Why we love it: In the past few years, Boston has emerged as a top culinary and cocktail destination. Here’s your itinerary: In the Italian-centric North End, check out Tony & Elaine’s, a new, kitsch Italian-American joint that pays homage to mom and pop holes-in-the-wall of yesteryear, with colossal mozzarella sticks and heaping plates of perfected chicken parm. For a more sophisticated take on Italian, reserve a table at Terra, the flagship restaurant of Boston’s Eataly outpost, set in a stunning rooftop garden. Dishes like the house-made squid-ink cavatelli and coal-roasted beet tartare impress in both taste and presentation. At Shore Leave, a subterranean tiki bar and restaurant, dishes are an eclectic, gastronomic tour through Asia-Pacific (hello: scallion pancake with spicy King Crab dip). Finally, for a night spent sampling forward-thinking cocktails and calorie-rich bar snacks, head to The Longfellow Bar at Alden & Harlow, led by award-winning chef and restaurateur Michael Scelfo. Overnight at the just-opened Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, a striking glass skyscraper that stands as the Boston’s third tallest building." - Paul Rubio

This isn’t a food place! This is a tour in Italy 🇮🇹! Here’s where I ate one of the most authentic Italian food! This is where Italians immigrants come to eat and shop! I wish every large city in US had one of this! The variety of food offered here is simply impressive and everything with so much quality! And plus they have a deli, sandwich 🥪 shop, hundreds of dessert 🍮 and all kind imports from Italy. Even the most famous espresso ☕️ coffee maker! If you’re in Boston you need to come by and try!

Bustling activity and narrowly spaced seating amid interesting surroundings create a high-energy sort of social atmosphere. Interesting menu creations provide nicely varied options among pizza and pasta offerings. Among our pasta selections, one seemed rather salty and the other a bit bland, but both were enjoyable overall. Calamari was slightly chewy but I'd try it again on another visit. It was flavorful, especially with the accompanying dip.

I’ve been enjoying the Pizza Burrata e Pesto at Eataly Boston for over five years I think, and it never fails to impress—always fresh, flavorful, and consistently excellent. However, today I was pleasantly surprised by their new addition, the Garden cocktail (Gin Dimi di Milano, lemon, and edible flowers). It’s easily one of the most delicious cocktails I’ve ever tried, perfectly balancing the refreshing citrus with floral notes. An amazing complement to the pizza I’ve loved for years. Highly recommend both!

One of my favorite stores in prudential❤️ Eataly provides a unique and immersive experience for those interested in Italian cuisine, high-quality ingredients and Italian culture. the higher price point might be a consideration for some customers.

Google
Eataly truly never disappoints no matter what city you’re in. The food is always top notch and consistent. Depending on the time of day though you may want to make a reservation for lunch and dinner since it can get busy in the sit down restaurants. The prices are always comparable to those elsewhere for the quality of meal you get. If you’ve never been to Eataly, I highly recommend giving it a try, even if it’s just for a quick grab and go bite

Such a great spot for authentic Italian dishes and specialty imported items. Be sure to try the focaccia bar, grab a gelato, and buy some unique wines from their store. Amazing!

Wish I could give 50 stars! If you love everything Italian, (as I do), this is the place for you! Go in the morning and grab a cornetto or other pastry or breakfast sandwich and a coffee from Cafe Vergnano 1882 direct from Italy. Experienced the one in Venice. Recommend the dopio macchiato. Then walk around and shop for amazing Italian foods. Everything from homemade pastas, large variety of sauces, pesos and sausage and cheeses. An amazing seafood counter. Shop for a special stove top espresso maker, glasses, utensils and plates and bowls. There is also a fantastic cheese counter and wine shop with everything Italian. Then stay for lunch. Choose from pizza at Rossopomodoro an authentic pizza brand direct from Italy with the freshest of homemade dough. Brought back memories of Rome. If you don't want pizza, there is IL Piazza for lovely assortment of cheese, seafood and fresh pasta dishes. There is also a separate restaurant Terra? Upstairs with a wide selection of beautiful food. Don't want a restaurant, just a sandwich? You can grab a great selection of handmade to order sandwiches, pastry and beverages and gelato and grab a table to enjoy. Truly an experience for the senses. Stay the day!

Google
Eatly is an interesting concept. Walking through can be a little hectic and over-stimulating, depending on the time and day. Food selection is amazing. Grab and go is fresh and delicious. The sit down restaurant is good, not great. They seem to push you through. Our server treated us rudely. Wouldn't offer answers when we asked questions and at on point, told us NO and walked away. The manager tried to step in and help. She was nice, but our server never returned to our table between us ordering our food and requesting our check. Huge Hint-The menu doesn't have any kids' menu, BUT if you ask, they have one.

Yelp
one of my favourite groceries and place to order some quick pasta when i'm craving hehehe :3 located right at the prudential center entrance, didn't take long at all and the pasta was made fresh with the chefs right in front! kinda pricey but i am a brand loyal customer!

Mylinh V.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick bite before continuing my exploration downtown. It is located in the mall so you can enter through the mall or the exterior entrance. It is very busy inside and you can easily get lost because of all the turns and twists but there is a ton to look at! The lines go by super quick and you can also utilize the self checkout line. There are tables inside for sitting and enjoying your food or you can also walk outside or into the mall. I loved this grain bread that I found near the bakery! It was so perfect and full of seeds just the way I like it! There are restrooms located in the corner! You don't have to go into the mall for the restroom which was nice!

Paula A.

Yelp
I know that Eataly is a tourist place, but as a born and bred Bostonian I love it. I am presently sitting comfortably alone at the bar eating a pizza and enjoying a glass of wine! The food and service are winners here! Plus their Olive Oil section!!! As a person that likes first pressed cold pressed olive oil (not supermarket) I absolutely love the selections!

Selena H.

Yelp
The worst past I have ever had in my life ... this is even the first time I give one star review. I felt like I wasted my money so much. We did not finish the pasta because it was so bad even we were starving. Both pasta and ravioli were not fully cooked. Aglio e olio, I tasted water and oil simultaneously and pepper, flour. That was only I could taste... At least bruschetta and arancini were good so I give one star. Server was nice so left tips but I am still very angry at pasta qualities... I WOULD NEVER VISIT AGAIN.

Kristen K.

Yelp
Wow! The place was packed! Food everywhere you looked. Cheeses galore! Pasta! Pizza! Meats! Seafood! Desserts! Gelato! Seriously your one stop shop! The food was good. The pasta was fresh. I wouldn't say it's my number one go to. But I will say that I am glad to have finally tried it. The pizza, ravioli and the bucatini was my favorite. Not pictured were mozzarella bites - disgusting! Mushy and lacked flavor. At least check the place out once.

Yelp
Brief Summary: - Different floors with different restaurants and desserts - Review of a dessert I ate and the past restaurant - Pasta texture was tough - Pastries are unique and delicious Eataly is a fun place because it has different floors filled with restaurants and groceries. The focus on this review will be the pasta restaurant on the second floor and the dessert we bought from the food area that focused on desserts. We visited the evening to get the pasta restaurant. This is located in the center of the restaurant. We added ourselves to the waitlist, and after a few rounds of walking around the grocery we received a text message that our table is open. We ordered some pastas and raviolis, and I had the mushroom pasta. The pasta was tougher than al dente, so it required more chew. I thought this was just my dish, but it turns out all of the pasta were on the tough end. For the sauce, the raviolis and the mushroom sauce is rich but not too salty. For some of the tomato sauces, the tomatoes packed a sour kick to the taste buds. My relative had a vegetable ravioli, and they mentioned how there was something missing with the sauce, and it tasted better when they ate with the bread that came with the olive oil. After eating, we went to the dessert food area and tried out the "pick and choose" box of four. We picked some that looked like cheux (I like the name tiramicheux) and some of the chocolate puffs. I was mostly interested with the rum covered mini cakes. It was strange to see some of the little insects flying around it, but out of the many pastries it was the only one the insects were flying over. Since they weren't large flies, I let that pass and order that one as well. After making an order we carried this box at the hotel to eat. As expected, the rum covered one was my favorite, drenched in rum. This is probably not suitable for palettes that don't like bitter or alcoholic tastes. My other favorite was the tiramicheux, I enjoyed the coffee flavor and the fluffy texture of the cheux. I think it's a very good combination!

Yelp
I was bit disappointed in the portion that I received at one of the eateries. I paid a little over 15 dollars for spaghetti with parm on top. Portion was very small and did not fill me up. The guy at the register was very nice and helpful with menu items . Everything here is very over priced but if you are looking for anything authentic Italian goods, dishes, wine ect , this is definitely the place to get that kind of stuff. I will give a rave to their Burrata cheese. That was really tasty. They have fresh flowers , gelato and plenty of options for everyone for a bit to eat.

Kim V.

Yelp
When I first walked in, I was amazed by all the sights and smells. The place is a grocery, restaurant, gelato shop, and coffee shop, all in one. There were stands with paninis, desserts, meats, and cheese. One of the restaurants in there, you pick a table, scan a barcode, order food/drinks, and they bring it out to you. When I think of Italy, this place shows me a snapshot of it (never been to Italy). Now why did I give it three stars? The woman at the counter that helped us get out paninis was not pleasant; she was impatient, rude, and not customer service friendly. The panini I ordered was the premade mortadella and cheese; it just was okay. The products in the stores overall seems quality. They had self checkouts and security. In conclusion, a nice place but seems that some of their employees may need customer service training.

Yelp
TLDR: Great ambiance / food, long wait times, and somewhat pricey. Man, this place is MASSIVE! If you can't wait to get through the Pizza + Pasta line, you can always pick something up around the shop. I'd say the food is pretty solid overall - consistent 7s or above! However, there are some dishes that may get advertised and not be as good (for example, our waiter recommend the meatballs - they were NOT too good and rather expensive for what they were). Stick with your gut! ... and feed it well here while you're at it!

Kristen E.

Yelp
It's fine, similar to other Miyagi. Got a focaccia sandwich at a reasonable price in order to have something on my stomach before our table was ready for drinks at Earl's.

Yu Y.

Yelp
There is so much to see with counters selling everything from raw meat to gelato. Taking a trip to Eataly is offers a nice sampling of foods and goods from Italy. My favorite counter has to be the desserts and they sometimes open up a cannoli stand outside. It's pricey but the cannolis are on par with what you would find in the north end It is usually packed and a little hard to navigate through all the people. Even worse if there is an event going on. There are often wine tastings or samples that let you try out items before purchasing.

Jamie S.

Yelp
Expensive and a bit hit or miss. The space is beautiful and most of the food is quite good, but I'm not sure the portion sizes and quality justify the cost (esp when there are many other delicious places that cost less in Boston). To start - they don't offer any milk besides full on regular dairy whole milk. Found this quite weird given they're part of a grocery chain. No 2% when we asked, of any non-dairy options. I get that this may be a choice, but also not one that I agree with. Seems like an easy to lose customer tabs on drinks, especially when there are so many coffee spots nearby (like the blue bottle steps away in the mall atrium?) The food itself was good although some dishes were much better done than others. I found the carbonara to be a flop - overly salty, not that silky and didn't have much flavor. In contrast, the tagliatelle alla norcina was divine and everyone was clamoring for a bite of my plate. The frittata was also unexpectedly delicious (I usually don't expect much from frittatas eating out). The burrata portion we share was good but microscopic for nearly $20. I think this place has a lot of potential- the terrace seating is lovely and there were some real stars in the dishes! But would love some more refinement and options (like dairy free milks...), as well as a right sizing on pricing (which is hard to justify as i

Yelp
I had the potato gnocchi, followed by a cappuccino. Both were excellent, nice atmosphere, friendly staff mostly from Italy. There's a nice outdoor patio to sit on, and the merchandise looked great.

Elizabeth Y.

Yelp
Popped in here for a quick bite while I was in the area for work. It's a super cool place with a lot of different options. I ended up getting a prosciutto sandwich and a Hazelnut chocolate pastry. Both were excellent! I would definitely recommend coming here. There's a ton of things to pick from, and they all look so delicious!

Nancy A.

Yelp
Great place to order a variety of things. There are so many options to choose from like dessert, coffee, cheese, bread and so on. Within this area, there are different stalls for the different types of food and there is a market like area. I ordered dessert and it was good. I bought cannolis (customized nuts and chocolate), cookies, and another dessert. They were tasty and wish I had ordered more.

Jin S.

Yelp
Eataly is an Italian market that brings a unique twist to the Prudential Center. It's in a great location for shopping where you can knock out a one stop shop! The price is high but they have fresh cheeee, meats, pizza, gelato, and produce. They have a restaurant called Terra upstairs and an oyster bar on the main floor.

Rita V.

Yelp
On average we visit at least 8-10 times a year. Yes, we trekk from Hudson just to enjoy seeing Amy and learning about the new food items and drinks, and luscious wines. She knows us so well, she knows what we drink and eat. This woman deserves 10 stars! The FOOD IS SPECTACULAR! Delicious. Authentic flavors, no matter what the menu beholds. It's a little "trattoria" inside a larger Piazza di merkato. Fun and laid back ambiance. And did I mention Miss Amy? THE HOSTESS WITH BEYOND THE MOSTESS, a huge heart, a beautiful personality. You just have to LOVE her. So why the 3 stars? Well, understanding that the cost of eating and living is increasing, it is still DISGUSTING how the prices have jumped and portions, such as the measly 3 pieces of beef in the carpaccio could cost $21. ARE YOU INSANE EATALY? SERIOUSLY! If the plate had been a bit larger, maybe 6 of the perfectly THIN slices (around a 29th instead of a 35th of a normal piece of filet mignon), I wouldn't have been so horrified. Pasta dishes normally hovered under $29 IF you were having seafood dishes. But $32? AND YOU HAVE ALL THE INGREDIENTS UNDER YOUR ROOF! I don't know what's going on, but that is very disrespectful. Will it keep us from coming? NO WAY! We love to see the wonderful Miss Amy, shop for goodies (EVOO, guanciale, meats or seafood on sale, canned goods, pasta...) and walk around. Will I stop eating here? Nope. But dangit people. You are highway robbers.

Isha R.

Yelp
We enjoyed dinner at the Pasta & Pizza restaurant! The food was delicious and our server Miguel was AWESOME! He made our special occasion extra special and a wonderful experience. Will be back again!

Jessica C.

Yelp
We had an underwhelming experience at the Eataly Boston location. We stopped by to have a light dinner before heading to Fenway and were able to get seated at a table immediately. For our meal, we got the Arancini, Prosciutto Burrata, and Tagliatelle Bolognese to share. We got the arancini and prosciutto burrata at the San Jose/Silicon Valley location and it was great there! However, this time, the arancini was kind of stale and stuck to my teeth and the amount of burrata that was served compared to the prosciutto was almost laughable. It was like the size of the butter scoop you get at IHOP compared to a plate full of prosciutto. I ended up added the leftover prosciutto to the bolognese as to not waste it. The bolognese was fine. Aside from our dining experience, the marketplace looked fully stocked full of yummy ingredients.

Paula S.

Yelp
I enjoy the space Eataly has to offer, the service was great A member of the party stated a serious allergy and it didn't seem important - although nothing happened it just felt like a shrug. We got one thing at a time even if it was multiple orders. I ordered the special pasta with the live service-the plate I got was dirty. Old pasta and crust on edge. The pasta was undercooked- $30 for a spoonful of undercooked pasta was not satisfying.

Haylee M.

Yelp
I had really high expectations because gelato in Eataly would be amazing, but I think it was just okay. Mint stracciatella was delicious. I haven't always been a fan of mint ice cream but this was really nice. It was like the vanilla ice cream with mint chocolate shavings around. Really good. Panna Cotta was nice as well. Overall good gelato but not something extraordinary for me to go multiple times. Got a really good salad bowl here though, and some good foods too. Loved the aesthetics of the place as well.

Liz G.

Yelp
This place was packed, and when I say packed not easy to move around. We were in and out of there quickly. The reason we stopped was for the donut. The donut was very, very dry almost like it was several days old, I was so disappointed. The spinach type pizza was sooo good!!! Wish I only got the spinach pizza and not wasted my money on the donut.

Beth B.

Yelp
Really great restaurant. We came for dinner. Food was good - Pasta freshly made and that always makes a difference. Nice cocktail list and wine selection was pretty good. We sat outside and it was Amazing to be outside upstairs in Boston in the summer. My husband got an Affogatto for dessert yum! We walked around the rest of the area after we ate and the place was really cool. Gelato, Olive oil, Pasta, prosciutto! It was like visiting the markets in Italy. We had a great time.

Melinda M.

Yelp
Spent a few days in Boston with our sisters. Walked by Eataly on our back from dinner at another fabulous restaurant. Our sisters lived in Chicago previously and shopped that location frequently so they were familiar with the place/products. My brain cells were popping with the sheer size and scope of the place. They have everything you could want: pasta, sauce, cheese, meat, fish, breads, take-out, eat-in, spices, etc. Plus a wine shop! needless to say we all bought something (a lot!). Next time in Boston we'll try dining at Terra.

Jackie L.

Yelp
Eataly is such a cute market to grab a quick lunch. It has a ton of cheeses, pastas, sauces and meats. I loved the soppressata sandwich I got. I wished I lived here so I could go all the time! Great place to stop by if you are visiting from out of town.

Jesan A.

Yelp
So many fantastic options. I've been to Italy before, and you really do find similar stuff here! It's a great place to grab a bite, have a more nice meal, or buy Italian groceries! This is a top tier spot and I am very glad that we have an eataly in boston

Kristen S.

Yelp
Just too crowded-omg, i felt like I was at a wwe match. Overpriced, overcrowded-just go to the North End.

Mo G.

Yelp
Love grocery shopping here. Last 2 dining experiences have been poor. Had dinner at Terra a fews ago and the A/C was not working. Hard to enjoy a meal when it's that hot, I'm actually surprised they let staff work when it was that hot in there. Then tried eating downstairs one afternoon and the arancini was so dry and no flavor.

Brandyn R.

Yelp
Every single morsel of food was absolute decadence. Be adventurous, try the Lardo. Order the things that you wouldn't normally order, you will not be disappointed.

Frances L.

Yelp
Love waking through Eataly Boston which is conveniently located in the Prudential Center. It's a three floor foodie wonderland with restaurants, prepared foods, groceries and markets. I love stopping by pizza or gelato.

Ping K.

Yelp
Good spot for rainy day for travelers spend time in Boston. The Eataly inside at the very nice mall the mall also had a exits to the station without going outside the street.Good

Olivia P.

Yelp
Nice area to walk around and browse, but fairly overpriced considering the portions and taste.

Healy J.

Yelp
This is a fun place to get an easy dinner or snack - dessert. Great gelato and a lot of pm Italian pastries and packages cookies.

Tracey M.

Yelp
So disappointed! Food was good - service was poor! Server was so disengaged. Front host stand had one out of three that actually smiled. Find new jobs people !!!

Kasey K.

Yelp
Had the white truffle pasta at Eataly Pizza and Pasta and every bite was heavenly. The buttery sauce matched perfectly with the nutty flavor of the truffle. This was outstanding.

Joyce K.

Yelp
Can't express how much I love Eataly! They have a vast selection of genuine Italian imported groceries and treats. The other day I tried one of their little pastries (semifreddo), which was like a little soft and creamy berry dollop of joy. They also have stalls with fresh pasta, pizza, coffee, and gelato. I like buying their Italian pasta which I swear tastes better than anything in other grocery stores. Visiting Eataly is probably the closest thing to taking a little trip to Italy, if even for just an hour or two. Just removing a star for their prices, which can be a bit high.

Susan R.

Yelp
Not sure if Eataly has lost its charm. Went on a Sunday morning and in spite of the warm weather, the typical crowds were late in arriving. Vendors are certainly offering a plethora of Italian grocery options but no deals to be had. I enjoyed some prepackaged focaccia but was shocked at the prices for puny Panettone. Every Italian Nonna just died a little.

Kelly F.

Yelp
This was the worst box ceasar salad I've ever gotten. And extreme waste of $16. I really wish I could get my money back. There wasn't enough dressing so it was extremely dry. the lettuce was not fresh AND IT WAS SIXTEEN DOLLARS?!?!?

EC M.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME! If you like pasta and/or anything Italian, you HAVE to stop at Eataly! I cannot recommend this place enough. We loved it. They have different food stations to choose from, custom salads, oyster bar, 3 restaurants, bakeries, cheese station! A Mozzarella Lab!!! Whatever you pick at this place you cannot go wrong Pizza and gnocchi were our two favorites, and we also picked up desserts on the way out- everything looked so gOoOo

Neeka P.

Yelp
I got the pesto gnocchi, the gnocchi was very good but the pesto was pretty bland, I could make better at home. It was also very oily, I prefer the caccio e pepe from here

Sherwin C.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere with lots of different restaurant and shop options in the mall and the feel of being in an Italian market. There's a bit of everything for everyone from breads to cheeses to sandwiches to pizzas to Gelato. This location feels a bit smaller than other Eataly locations I've been to, but it doesn't feel too crowded inside.

Moira D.

Yelp
We came in from out of town to attend a private party at this awesome restaurant. We were seated in an open, airy, upstairs area for our meal and had access to the rooftop deck for socializing and a few activities. The event manager, the servers, and the bartenders were attentive and served everything with a smile. Every bite of food was well prepared and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Boston area and to those planning a gathering.

L L.

Yelp
What can you possibly say other than it's an awesome place - so much to explore and so many things to try !! Every time we are in Boston we come here ...it's an experience it's a food destination...we always leave happy, full and with things to take back home! To be honest it's the same with their other locations I'm Sure - we have gone to the NY City location and it's just as awesome!

Shardale N.

Yelp
Store was clean, smelled delicious and their focaccia pizza was amazing! About $8 a slice and very filling. I also recommend the gelato affogato.

Anthony N.

Yelp
I would give eataly a 3.5 stars if possible. The pasta dish was tasty. Fried zucchini was good but a little greasy and the pizza was a little floppy but had nice flavor. It does give off Italy vibes, for the price it's a little expensive for the quality but worth trying.

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
I had their chocolate cake Very strong dark chocolate mousse cake- doesn't necessarily contain bread but mostly chocolate cream. It was super good but also pricy ($45-50)

Ellen K.

Yelp
This is the first Eataly location I have visited so I wasn't familiar with the concept. I'm a fan of Italian Food Markets and this one that includes multiple sit-down eateries, cafe, wine, and a cooking class kitchen offers much more than just an ethnic grocery shopping experience. I was only on a visit to Boston or else I would have purchased some of the local items (for example, Crescent Ridge Dairy) to stock my pantry. We dined at Terra which is located within Eataly (see my separate review) so browsing around the departments/counters is a fun way to pass the time if waiting for a table. Eataly offers a unique concept to the other offerings in Prudential Center.

L M.

Yelp
Really fun place to visit while you're in Boston! Bustling atmosphere. Their store has every imaginable Italian pasta, sauce, oil, condiment, cheese, meat, seafood, vegetable, candy, etc. available -- albeit a little on the pricey side. But no doubt you'll find just what you're looking for! Great gift ideas, especially for gift baskets. The pastry counter was a feast for the eyes! My cake, cannolis and truffles were delish. Plenty of prepared foods available at another counter. My husband loved the pizza slice I brought home, unusual toppings and very very good. We tried 2 of the restaurants on different visits to Boston. We really enjoyed our apps at La Cucina. Service here was PHENOMENAL! Difficult to get a seat, you have to be ready to jump when one empties. Sorry to say I can't remember exactly what we ordered, but I can say that we enjoyed every single bite!!

Cat O.

Yelp
Pasta was delicious, especially the spaghetti. Service was great. It was very crowded and busy.
