"Whether you want to learn the secret to filleting fish, cook a traditional Istrian dish like žgvacet , or explore the peninsula’s top wineries, look no further than Eat Istria, run by food blogger Goran Zgrablić. The outfitter picks guests up in Pula and brings them to a family farm between Medulin and the village of Ližnjan, where they can enjoy a highly personalized cooking class on dishes like handmade Istrian pastas, or simply have a marenda (light lunch) in an olive grove. If you wish to travel farther afield, Zgrablić can also arrange for tours of Istria’s small, family-run wine cellars."

Perfect experience! Goran was a wonderful host and teacher, extremely knowledgeable about the region including of course its food and wine. We created some delicious homemade pasta with chanterelles and a extremely easy but delicious dessert - all in a open air kitchen right beside the olive grove. Combined with some great Croatian Music, we had the best time. I would recommend to anyone that wants to experience the Istrian Culture more intimately and learn something. Hope to be back.

My friend and I didn’t know the absolute treat we were getting into when we signed up for the wine and truffle tour. We had the friendliest tour guide Goran whose knowledge knows no bounds. We were discussing all about the various grape varieties for the wines around Istria as well as the truffle hunting process, along with other lovely anecdotes about life in Istria and best dishes to try. We were brought to Miro tartufi for the truffle hunting experience (mostly the work of their hunting dogs and Miro) and were treated to an amazing brunch with their truffle products. The scrambled eggs were definitely a hit! The whole atmosphere was very welcoming and homely, and it made me feel like I was a part of their family too. We next went to Benvenuti winery for some Istrian wines and had a great time with the various wine varieties and food pairings. While the next winery was suddenly unable to accommodate us, Goran made a few quick calls and off we were to Dobravac in Rovinj for the next wine tasting. Overall, I’d say I had an amazing experience with Goran and I appreciate the work that EatIstria is doing to promote the local producers in Istria. This is a must do if you’re in Istria.

My wife and I had a phenomenal time with Goran on our Wine/Truffle tour. We were amazed at Goran's wealth of knowledge and his passion for everything Istrian! The food and wine were beyond our expectations. Furthermore, Nikola provided top notch customer service with helping us set up the tour from the beginning to the end. We definitely look forward to future tours with EatIstria!!

We had an absolutely great time! The team was very kind and they catered to our big group of 14 people. We asked for a veggie class, which was no problem for them. They chose to make sone pasta with tomato sauce, with local produce. The location is nice, too! We cooked in an oitdoor kitchen among olive trees and the sound of nature. Just a great experience!

My husband and I had the most amazing day with Goran II. He is kind and knowledgeable and passionate about all things Istrian. We made a delicious 4 course meal and he managed to arrange a late night wine tasting due to the public holiday the next day. He went the extra mile to ensure we had the best day in Istria. Can’t recommend this activity highly enough. We will be back for sure.

What a wonderful experience! Probably one of the best birthday I could imagine. My girlfriend organised a surprise there for my birthday, I recommend you to come here ! The explanations were so good, the wine was very good, and all the moment spent here were so nice! I would definitely come back when I’ll be back here in Istria! You only deserve 5 star. We all need more experience like this! Thank you again Nicolas ! (Also my girlfriend to find this amazing experience 🥰)

Nikola was a fantastic chef for our hands on, half day traditional fish cooking class. He was friendly, patient, and worked with us to develop a delicious menu! The menu included fish soup, risotto with mussels, crispy anchovies, and brioche with sheep's cheese and poached apples. The location was beautiful, private, and Nikola also shared EatIstria's balsamic vinegar and wine making process. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
