How This Female Hotelier Makes Activism Part of Her Company's Mission | Condé Nast Traveler

"Though the brand will have the usual bells and whistles expected of any hotel also angling to be a community hangout—think rooftop bars, restaurants, and extras like an in-house radio station, meeting rooms, and a work-sharing space—Lo has prioritized a series of talks and events that focus on the issues such as equal rights and gender equality as part of the brand's weekly operations."

I have to say trying to book an all day conference room a week out from the needed date has been an exercise in frustration. I have submitted an online request, emailed, and called multiple times either to be rolled over to the hotel or redirect to a full voicemail box multiple times. Not sure how they expect to function without a reliable way to make reservations or respond to requests in a timely fashion.

It's such an amazing vibe. Great people, music, and drinks. Eaton is welcoming and amazing.

Beautiful space. Came here from out of town to get some work done. Rahim was extremely helpful and made sure I had a great experience. The staff at the hotel front desk was wonderful as well.

Google
My rating is based on service, because I never actually had the chance to try their food. The only reason that I am not giving the restaurant 1 star is because I honestly have no idea what was going on before I arrived to the 14+ member party I was with. I was significantly late because I opted to drop a couple of members of my party off before hunting for parking on a Friday night. When I finally arrived, there was no space for me, so I requested a table to be added to the group. The waitress told me that wasn't possible, then made made a big show about asking her manager when I requested to at least have a chair so that I could sit with the large group. He accommodated me, but neither one ever bothered to give me a drink or food menu. After about 15 minutes, my cousin announced that everyone should pay their checks and move to the party she was hosting upstairs. So I opted to just drink my dinner upstairs, rather than beg for food service. At the very least, they should have asked me if I wanted to order food to go rather than ignore my presence. The very natural of the gathering guaranteed them reasonable gratuity. That said, the guests that I dropped off told me that it took the restaurant a while to sort out everyone's bills anyway.

Google
The one thing that distinguishes the Eaton is its state-of-the-art concept. It's more than a stay-the-night hotel. It has harnassed today's pulse and created a venue that invites community involvement. One nice feature is the visual On Air LIVE radio station complete with an announcer broadcasting both music and talk shows. It's really quite trendy and exciting ...especially dancing on the rooftop lounge.

Yelp
Location was conveniently located downtown near the Moxy rooftop and near by restaurants, coffee shops and historical landmarks. Story has it the owner's wealthy father gifted it to her in honor of her passion for social justice. They also had events like Listening session for Juvenile 400 degrees which i hate I missed and many other things to mix and mingle. Ambiance 5/5 From the lobby which has a restaurant and coffee spot, a speakeasy, and rooftop with live music that day! The band and ambiance was wonderful. It has a social justice and music themed décor w/ record player and vinyl records. I was fortunate to have Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, and Run DMC, among others records. The décor was beautiful, bed comfortable and a seating area near the window. It's such a trendy hotel with overall great décor. Price: N/A I was there on a complimentary fellowship so unsure of the price. Service 5/5 Great check-in service, late check-out despite it being booked, and service on the rooftop, drinks were refreshing

Yelp
My recent stay at Eaton in Washington, DC, was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the hotel's unique charm and the high standard of service. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel welcome right from the start. The hotel is immaculate--everything was spotless and well-maintained, contributing to a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are a standout feature, especially with the addition of a turntable in each one, which adds a really cool, nostalgic touch. It's details like this that set Eaton apart from other hotels. The boutique in the hotel is also a gem, offering a well-curated selection of items that are both stylish and reflective of the local culture. One of my favorite aspects of the hotel was the speakeasy bar in the lobby. It's a hidden gem and the perfect place to enjoy a drink in a cozy, intimate setting. I want to give a special shoutout to Manager Sofia, who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. Her kindness and attention to detail truly made a difference. Eaton DC is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city and look forward to returning on my next trip.

Yelp
20 stars. Absolutely loved this hotel! The location was excellent, especially as someone who drove to DC -- easy in and out of the city. They have valet parking, and as you would expect from anything that starts with "valet," it's expensive. But they took good care of my car, and if you text or call in advance, it's sitting there waiting for you! The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the record player and vinyl -- this was technology when I was growing up! Also loved the books with social justice themes on the shelves. How often do you get to stay at a hotel that has social values beyond, "Put this card on the sheets if you'll save us the trouble of washing them and we'll tell you it's all about the environment"? The one drawback I'll say was the business center -- it's kind of like a "We Work" space, located on the other end of the hotel. I went to print something out and the instructions for using the printer were incorrect (I found this out from someone at my meeting who said, "Yeah, don't follow those -- they're incorrect"). So just a heads up that you shouldn't depend on it for a last minute "I need to make copies!" if you can help it. But I'm not taking away a star for that. Can't wait for the next time I get to stay there.

Yelp
Sounded like a great place but it wasn't! Yes it was close to the convention center, and it had this vintage flavor with vinyl records player in the room and people bringing boxes of their vinyls here. But in regards to patron needs: zero. Not only did they not address the clogged sink despite being told but the shower only had cold water. The lack of responsiveness is telling more than a friendly welcome.

Yelp
Ah, the Eaton. It's a vibe due to the coffee shop (Baker's Daughter but real ones remember Kintsugi!), Wild Days (lovely rooftop bar), and the focus on wellness throughout the space. Okay, but you want to know about the hotel? It met all the must-haves: safe, clean, and with good temperature control. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet for a restful stay. There was a record player in the room and even though I didn't know the artist, it was a nice listen. The rooms don't have a mini-fridge or microwave but there are so many eateries around, including some onsite. Breakfast, lunch/dinner, and happy hour are all in different (aforementioned) venues within the Eaton. Room rates are reasonable and you're within downtown. There's also a fitness center (can't speak to the quality). The lack of a full 5 stars is that there's some artwork that may be offputing for folks, elevators are small, and the wifi wasn't secured. Overall, a solid stay option if you're in the area!

Yelp
I've stayed here a few times and always procrastinate on leaving a review. There's definitely a vibe here and I appreciate its progressive focus on diversity and inclusivity. You'll find a little market in the lobby across from check-in. There's also a DJ booth across from the elevators. Connected is the Baker's Daughter cafe. Lots of great seating areas for conversations and vintage decor. The speakeasy Allegory is in the library area, just check-in with the host as it fills quickly. I like that the hotel is not so huge in size and number of rooms as it gives a more intimate experience. The staff was very helpful although I didn't have any issues. They have a wellness gym, and spa area upstairs on the 2nd floor, just up the stairs from the DJ booth. I took a chi gong class after a long day of meetings and they offer other therapies as well. It was both relaxing and invigorating and a little bit of a workout with some great stretching and breathing as well. It's offered 2x per month and you can just register online. Can't wait to visit and stay here again so I can take it again. The retro-cool hotel room was pretty spacious and the bed comfortably dressed. The turntable in the room was a nice touch, and you can always swap out vinyl downstairs if your tastes run different to what's in the room. Same for books! The rock salt lamp was a nice soothing 'nightlight' with various settings. I had a room that was not street-side, so very little street noise and I slept very well. Note that if you like making coffee in-room (which I don't, ask for a coffee-maker and amenities when you check-in. Price-wise, it's a little higher than DC prices for a 4-star hotel but tops out amenities compared to others. There's a great breakfast included deal when offered. Definitely will come back and recommend!

Yelp
I've always driven by Eaton, but never stepped in until they started offering Yogalates with Kaya. It is so refreshing, physically challenging (in the best way), and I enjoy how she's intentional about meditating and journaling to get our minds right. I'll continue to come here as long as this class is offered.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel in December as part of a conference. I have been to DC many times for work, but never heard of the Eaton. Or at least, I thought I hadn't! Because they Eaton has a super sneaky secret bar and I was so taken by the bar the last time, I didn't realize it was in this glamorous hotel. Anyways! Hotel gave great rates for the conference, and I really enjoyed my stay. Firstly, the location was great, right on the circulator (free) bus route which was helpful. The lobby is stunning. I didn't have a chance to try the restaurant, but they have very high reviews. If I have more time the next time I stay here, I will certainly try them. The room itself is beautiful. Slightly on the small side, but it didn't matter because it was so artfully decorated and felt more like an experience than a plain hotel room. The record player in the room (with the Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson records) was such a nice touch. a Himalayan sea salt lamp, which was neat. The shower had great pressure and the design of the bathroom was very nice. The gym was adequate and there was even a recording studio in the lobby! I will definitely look at staying at the Eaton in the future, I had such a great experience.

Yelp
We had a red eye flight and arrived to the hotel at 10:00am. They let us check I early!! Wow very rare for a hotel to do that!! This place is nicely located next to restaurants and walkable to everything! Well my husband and I love to walk so this was perfect for us! The rooftop bar was nice and the cafe downstairs was convenient! The hotel details are pretty dope too! There is a recording studio that was used a few times and there is a work place lounge area nicely decorated! Loved our stay!!! Cheers!!!

Yelp
I recently stayed at the Eaton while on business and was impressed with my stay. I was greeted warmly by Simone at check-in and my room was ready, even though I arrived a few hours early. The rooms are comfortably appointed and everything feels very curated - almost like I'm living inside someone's Instagram feed. My room had a record player and a collection of books in addition to a TV that allowed me to stream my Netflix account. I love a firm mattress, so I found the bed super comfortable. I appreciated that the bedside lamp and salt lamp had dimmer switches so I could lower the lighting as I got ready to sleep. There are lots of outlets and USB plugs near the bed and throughout the room. The location is great too. Most of DC's attractions are within walking distance and there are quite a few places to eat nearby. My biggest issue was with the bathroom. In order to turn the shower on, you have to be in the shower standing directly under the spray. It warms up pretty quickly, but those first few seconds aren't nice. The towel hook is also in the shower, so I felt like my towels didn't really have a chance to dry out. The toilet also ran a lot and was incredibly loud. Check out was easy and they were kind enough to hold my bags for me so I could explore the city before my flight out. I would highly recommend staying at the Eaton.

Yelp
We had a great staycation with Eaton. Would highly recommend. In the perfect location for exploring the city (walkable and metro nearby.) We love all the hotel has to offer, including a coffee shop, restaurant, rooftop bar, wellness center, etc. It's all in one place which is so nice!

Yelp
Have you ever stayed at a hotel where the number of "quirks" adds up to an irritating total? Where there's nothing truly bad about the hotel, but you wouldn't stay there again if given the choice? That's the Eaton for me. I stayed there for four days, and while the room had a nice decor, the list of tiny frustrations added up to a sub-par experience: - Two slow elevators that you'll spend a lot of time staring at, one of which failed while I was there - Stairs marked for emergency use/staff only, so taking the stairs to avoid using the slow elevators isn't an option - The bathroom door is huge, heavy, requires quite a bit of force to move, can't be kept open, and slams shut loudly - Low ceilings, so the light in the shower is inches from your face and it feels like you're showering on a lit stage - Ridiculously powerful water pressure from the bathroom sink taps, so much so that I splashed myself multiple times on the first day - A very tiny table, not big enough for both a laptop and any food/drink - Brutally uncomfortable chairs (I took to sitting on a pillow on the chair) - No bedroom coat hooks/bathroom towel hooks - No ice machine, you need to call down and have an ice bucket delivered - The safe is too small for a 14" laptop, which is odd as most are bigger - The in-room fridge is in a non-vented compartment, so it gets so hot it actually heats up the top surface of the wall unit - No top sheet on the bed; when I called to ask one be put on the bed, they simply placed a folded top sheet on the bed so I had to strip and re-make the bed (I'm not lazy, but come on...) - No automatic emailing of my room invoice, I had to call to ask for it days later Nothing truly terrible, but it added up. The rooms were clean, the AC worked great, and it was a fairly quiet stay as well.

Yelp
Eaton Workshop DC was the host for a recent two-day conference I organized, and for the most part, it was a solid experience. Working with the conference service manager was smooth sailing, and they were responsive and attentive to our needs. Any issues that popped up along the way were swiftly taken care of once we flagged them to the team's attention. On the day of the conferences, the staff was welcoming and accommodated our needs, which was greatly appreciated. However, there are a couple of areas where Eaton could improve. Firstly, let's talk chairs. We spent two full days in conference spaces with two different types of chairs, and both were akin to sitting on bricks. Investing in some comfier, ergonomic options would do wonders for long events like ours. Secondly, the food. The catering menu left a bit to be desired. Options were limited, and what we did get wasn't exactly top-notch. Even the cookies were disappointingly small, barely bigger than Oreos, which left us scratching our heads. A menu overhaul would be a wise move. Despite these critiques, everything else about Eaton Workshop DC was pretty good. Attendees enjoyed their stay, and surprisingly, the bathrooms garnered quite a positive buzz. So, if you're looking for a venue with impressive lavatories, Eaton's got you covered.

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while, and it's not what it used to be pre-pandemic. The roach infestation on the rooftop is an ultimate no-no! Hope this gets fixed soon.

Yelp
Valet parking is available for $35 a day and you can use the rooms for various events. There is a decent restaurant downstairs and a coffee spot near the elevator. This place is very eclectic and it has various rooms for Co working, meetings, and trainings.

Yelp
I had a fantastic stay at the Eaton. Simone at the front desk really made my experience great. She was so warm and friendly and made sure to tell me all the information about the hotel. I wish the hotel had a bigger gym, but that is okay because they had many other amenities. I was able to book an appointment at the sauna in the spa and it was very relaxing and a similar price to other places in the DMV area.

Yelp
Eaton is a DC must-visit and cultural hub. There is always an amazing event, film screening, dance party or wellness retreat happening. The hotel is beautiful, welcoming and everyone you meet has a great energy.

Yelp
3 stars because the rooftop is a very nice space. Service was slow because we were attending a party. We ordered two margaritas with no salt. We got two margaritas with salt. The server apologized and said she would replace them. She then brought us margaritas in tiny juice glasses. About half the size of the original glasses (5-6oz). She said the dishwasher was behind. I then paid $40 for those two margaritas. I didn't order top shelf or anything special. It was an absolutely ridiculous price. Don't know if I'd go back but I'd check the prices more carefully if I did.

Yelp
Good space! The decor of the Eaton is fun. I attended an event the spirited sole garden , it was so much fun. The Eaton offers great art just a great space overall! Staff was very pleasant!

Yelp
We went to Eaton on Friday night around 10:30 pm to enjoy the rooftop. The vibes were great, but it was chilly and there is only 1 fire pit and 3 of the outdoor heaters were out of propane. I ordered margaritas which were $23 each but they were good so I couldn't complain. I didn't like the bartending staff though. That night they had all males bartending and they weren't friendly at all. They weren't attentive to customers and almost made it seem like I was inconveniencing them. When you are adding 20% gratuity to my drink purchases, the very least you can do is be friendly. I don't think I would return to this establishment.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at the Eaton Hotel in Washington, D.C. From the moment I arrived, Von's positive energy ensured a smooth checkout. He even offered water and shared details about their daily coffee options. The room was a delightful blend of vintage and modern, with a record player and my favorite albums. The hotel felt like a piece of modern history. The downstairs cafe served a delicious oat milk latte, and my two-night stay was truly pleasant. The small yet effective gym provided a great workout. Highly recommend this charming hotel and looking forward to staying again!

Yelp
Went down to DC for spring break with the family and stayed at Eaton on a recommendation. Well I must say everything impressed! We needed two rooms and the set up was awesome. We had rooms 921 & 923 (suite) and there's a private door to lock off both rooms. Which was awesome! Our suite was spacious, a few complaints, size of the bathroom. Certainly not suite-like, lacking perhaps a tub or just larger. Also, the couch was cool, but not comfortable. I liked the vibe of the room. Extremely clean and stocked. Perhaps without jeopardizing the vibe, some lamps with USB ports would be cool. On the low, I was hooked when I saw the Thelonious Monk book. Love him. Wild Days on the rooftop is a must. Gets packed at times and this can cause issues with the elevators. They have security on busy days to try and control. Although, we were staying there on 4/20. Nuff said...lol. Allegory is definitely worth checking out. It's a Speakeasy in the library so look behind the fireplace. Baker's Daughter has decent food. The chocolate croissants and natural orange and grape sodas were the favorites. Not the best latte, but so many other places. Plus they didn't take cash. Unfortunately, our schedule didn't vibe and we never made it to Michele's. Looks awesome so a reason to go back. Location is awesome and probably a 10/15 minute walk to the White House. Certainly will be our choice when visiting the area and Eaton DC definitely scores a touchdown!

Yelp
Stayed a full week here in early April. The interior is beautiful - there's a bakery attached to the hotel which was very convenient and had decent food. There's also a French dinner restaurant attached that we did not visit during our stay. On the rooftop there's a bar - events happen there regularly on weekdays & weekends. As a hotel guest you have direct access. Drinks are a little steep - but the rooftop space is nice enough. As far as the hotel room itself goes - we stayed in the queen artist studio. The internet lags a tad but that's my one complaint. The bed was soft & comfortable. AC worked just fine. Shower water was hot & lasted forever - never ran out once. Room service was on point, had our room cleaned daily and they always did an excellent job. The shampoo, hand soap, conditioner & body wash are AMAZING. Knowing I would be here for a full week, I brought my own shampoo & conditioner because I'm rather picky and hotel shampoo/conditioners normally dry my hair out. The products they have here did not dry my hair out, in fact my hair felt incredible every time I washed it! I did not have to use my own products once during my stay. Best hotel bathroom products I have EVER used. They also come in large bottles so running out was never a problem. The room was quirky & I enjoyed it. The water glasses are made out of recycled wine bottles. The record player was a cool touch. The lights require key card access which I think is a great energy conserving measure that other hotels should consider trying. There's a seating area & table big enough for 2 which was handy when we would have food in the room with us. Overall, an amazing stay. It was located perfectly in the heart of DC that we were able to walk, Uber, or use the metro to get wherever we needed to go.

Yelp
100% save your money and stay elsewhere in DC. The Eaton hotel's philosophy and values are stellar, but their hospitality was so disappointing. We pulled into the valet and didn't see anyone, so went inside to check-in and hopefully find a bellperson. The front desk people were nice, but when we asked a security guy if there was someone with a luggage cart who could help us with our bags he said no. I got my luggage from my car and was clearly struggling with all of my stuff. When I got back into the lobby the front desk woman asked if I'd like help from the bellman. Not sure why a different employee told me something different. The rooms are very tight and not efficiently designed. I was also sad to see that there was no bottled water in the rooms. The worst part was that our TV and phone didn't work our entire stay. The first night we just decided to let it go because we were tired. The second evening we waited 45 minutes for someone to come fix it. I went down to the lobby just to get a time estimate and the woman said it would be another 20-30 minutes at least. Just an overall disappointing stay with no attempt by staff to resolve the issues or make us feel taken care of.

Yelp
We had an issue with the bottle of wine we initially chose (it smelled and tasted strongly of cork) but luckily we had Mauricio, Marcus, and Bobby who not only let us choose a different bottle at a discount but also took excellent care of us in general with attention and care throughout our dinner. The whole Michele's Team was super professional, so thanks guys!

Yelp
Giving this 5 stars for the bartender Ashley! I came in on this past saturday (9/17) and had been on the hunt for Kathy Hiltons latest investment project Casa Del Sol Tequila. and while Eaton did not have it Ashley asked me if i knew what the tasting notes were in it so that she could tell me what she had that most closest resembled that. Well before settling on el velo blanco i was able to taste a few options and Ashley explained each one to me! I really appreciated the time and care that she took with me to make sure I was able to still have a good experience even tho this place didnt have what i wanted! but its people like Ashley giving service like that , that leads me to write reviews like this! Great job !

Yelp
Eaton DC is a really unique, mission-driven organization that really has a special boutique atmosphere that highlights the BIPOC community, arts, and really truly embodies a socially aligned organization that you can feel good about. Eaton is a hotel that has wellness spaces, eateries and bars, and next door, at Eaton House, a modern co-working space. I had a mixed bag of experiences and encounters throughout my stay, which was a business trip. But let's get down to brass tacks, the location is unbeatable. It's so close the the Union Station, walkable to almost any point downtown and next to so many great eateries and those famous DC museums, so location-wise, it's a five all around. Upon checking in, I had not a so smooth experience with the associate who struggled with my reservation, not sure if it was just an off day or they were still learning the ropes but it was definitely on the more casual, spattered with ums, and needing a manager to help them through the process situation. I had to ask how to navigate and find things like the elevator, but once I finally got my keys in hand, I was relieved to get to the room. The room itself was fine, I had to ask for the front desk the next morning (again, another deadpan, angry stare, really lacking on professionalism and customer service here...) but was able to quickly get the little rock lamp, note pad (totally written all over), and more bath soap replenished once asked. Was initially disappointed by the lack of attention to detail by housekeeping, but quickly got to get to know their crew after running into them each morning and was able to get what I needed from them each day by the end of my visit which was nice. However, the room itself was clean, and comfortable, and the bed is firmer than what I'm used to when staying with Marriott (tried out of brand this time, not sure if I'd ever do it again...) and got the job done. Checking out was a bit of a process since I had two reservations linked together and apparently asking the front desk associate to print out my invoices was an "i have to ask my manager for help doing this" job, I got my invoice via email and of course, it was missing a few days which resulted in a few calls back to Eaton to get the full folio. My organization was also hosting events with this space, honestly, if I could rate an organization negative stars for their customer service, professionalism, and ability to deliver, I would for our overall experience trying to coordinate and plan with them. Fortunately, it all worked in the end, but the number of last-minute fire drills and shuffling to get the events to the finish line was just so disappointing at the end. I could not recommend people to take their business elsewhere for event spaces as I learned that we were just one of the three organizations that had triple-booked meeting spaces, etc. and the list could go on and on. Overall, the hotel was just okay, the customer service was seriously lacking by their staff, the food was solid within the space, and the location was a win. Other than all that... I'd say take your business elsewhere.

Yelp
Eaton DC is a great spot to celebrate either your birthday or accomplishment but the men who work here are extremely rude, I can't even say the staff was rude because OF COURSE the only individual who wasn't was the woman. Her service was superior. The music at this establishment is TOP TIER but wow the men really ruined the experience as the DJ gave us drink tickets for dancing all night and being respectful guest and the bartenders said "I don't give a f*ck" when we showed them the green tickets given to us. As well as all night they were lazy and seemed to not want to work. Eaton is great place and i have been here several times but please get staff that knows how to provide proper customer service. I will return but will pre-game beforehand and YOU should too because you will be met with low, rude, and inexperienced demeanor.

Yelp
I have stayed here four times in the past few years, most recently over Thanksgiving weekend during the COVID pandemic. Alongside the Sofitel and the Dupont Circle Hotel, this is our favorite hotel in DC. All COVID safety protocols are being enforced at the hotel right now, which we appreciated and made us feel as safe as possible. The rooms are very comfortable and stylish. Most recently we were upgraded to a pied a terre junior suite (thanks booking.com) which was amazing. But even the regular rooms are very good. There are cool touches all over the rooms and hotel generally: record players (with a few albums) and bluetooth speakers, curated progressive books, a coffee shop and speakeasy (currently closed for COVID), a small fitness area (currently OPEN), and more. The American Son restaurant on site is solid (especially its cocktails), but the proximity to City Center and Chinatown gives many other options. Valet parking is available ($55/night plus tax like most places in DC), but we get our parking through Spothero in the Washington Post building on the next block. Paid $20 for two nights parking most recently. There are so many hotel options in DC but we find ourselves coming back to the Eaton for these reasons.

Yelp
I stayed here for a conference around 2017. It was relaxing with a cool vibe that I absolutely synced with. This trip was on the opposite level. The restaurant that used to be high end southern cuisine is barely better than a Creole version of Applebees. And why would you ever think I would return or recommended a hotel that charges me $350 a night but I have to wait on a line to get an elevator to my hotel room. If bridge and tunnel was a vibe it would be the Eaton DC. I don't love this! Disappointing.

Yelp
Simone. at the front desk, is very friendly, helpful and entertaining. The hotel's philosophy about love and self-care is apparent in the small details: LP's and turn table in your beautiful room, great location with easy access to public transportation and parks, and daily room "refresh" that is appreciated after a day of sightseeing. Will definitely stay here again the next time we're in DC.

Yelp
Came here for a drunken Halloween night on the town. Admittedly it was our third stop, however, I was still with it and not drunk enough to completely throw caution to the wind. Pros: The balcony-super cute, seemed heated, lots of seating The drinks -delicious and fairly priced The ambiance-cute decor and lighting The patrons-good looking, good energy Cons: The dueling DJs playing trash music-this was hard to overlook hence the rating Overall I would come back but hope for better music .

Yelp
Really enjoyed my stay at the Eaton for a work trip- loved that they had multiple restaurants connected to the building and plenty of spaces for meetings and events! The rooms were uniquely decorated with light dimmers, a record player, and old photographs. It's located walking distance to a lot of restaurants and a great spot to stay in downtown!

Yelp
Staying at Eaton hotel was pretty disappointing. When I asked for an early check in, I was told over the phone that that would be fine. However, when I arrived, they informed me that it was not ready. The front desk also said they would call me when the room was ready, which they did not. I had to go up to the desk and ask them if my room was ready. The room I booked was nice overall and very spacious. My friend booked another room and he said that there were food leftovers in the corner of his room lol. All of our TVs didn't work either. We also went to wild days rooftop bar at the top of the hotel and the bouncers in the elevators were pretty rude. We weren't able to go to the top and when we asked them how to go, they were not helpful and gave us nasty attitude. I think our expectations were high staying at Eaton, but we will probably not be staying here again Update: they ended up charging me MORE than 100 dollars from the original amt I initially paid for. I will be calling today to dispute. They never provided me an itemized receipt either. Pretty shady.

Yelp
Very cute spot! I usually go here to the rooftop bar/club for events but I went here on a date over the weekend. The employees here are very helpful and kind. I got a salad and Prosecco. I have to figure what they did with the dates in the salad because it was too good! lol they also had a cute spot in the lobby that provided a nice night cap for me and my date by a cozy fire where we talked until 1am. The gender neutral bathrooms were very nice and clean with soap that smelled amazing! Perfect for a first date

Yelp
The Hotel was about a year old in August 2019. The space is awesome. You can spend the night, take a free meditation class, get a spa treatment or use the shared work space. If you are a hotel guest, you can get a discount on the workspace. The second floor has a great venue space. The 9th floor has a roof top view. You don't have to be a hotel guest to receive a complimentary crystal. The hotel gift shop is cute. The lobby space is awesome.

Yelp
Pleasant hotel and clean and airy rooms (bravo for being able to open windows). Though my real negative is that the food options at the hotel are really limited. A "grab and go" place and then a high end dinner only restaurant. This was a real issue with breakfast - cold options that were sitting for who knows how long, and high cal cooked items. Oh, and no coffee in the lobby till 7. For a property that focuses on wellness, the food issue is a bit of a disappointment.

Yelp
Browsing through vinyl records at the D.C. Record Fair. It was at the Eaton and, wow, was it packed! My son was happy with his purchase and said he had fun, but it was a little too hectic in there for me.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this hotel. The decor is thoughtful, unique and creates a stylish yet comfy vibe. Plants, crystals, natural wood and brass accents. I also love the turntable and records. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I will definitely return when I am in DC again.

Yelp
So eclectic! Loved this trendy hotel. Also love what they stand for and all of the movements they support. It was fun having a record player in the room too! Bathrooms were spacious and beautiful. Staff was friendly and the rooftop bar played great music!

Yelp
This hotel is amazing! The decor is beautiful. The staff is friendly, courteous, and welcoming. Everyone from the bellman to the front desk staff is so kind and helpful. Simone, from the front desk staff, is my new best friend in my head. She treated me as if we were long-lost friends, always greeting me with a smile on her face. Let's not even talk about the d.j. booth in the lobby or the record players in the rooms. Bonus: The location is convenient to museums, monuments and restaurants. I will definitely stay again when on D.C.

Yelp
Low key, I'm high key prematurely obsessed with this place. A co-working space, hotel, restaurant, wellness center, coffee shop, movie theatre, bar and who the heck knows what else I've missed but that right there is more than enough. I dropped by one night for an event taking place, but ended up in the hidden cocktail lounge and enjoyed every minute of it. First of all, shout out to our bartender, Manny. He was awesome and can make a mean drink with a smile! Second, I love the sexy and chill vibe. Perhaps since the word is still getting, I loved the extra space, dim lights and cozy nooks throughout. It's a great place for a date, catch up, drink alone, grown and mellow ladies night - much like the rest of this place, it's versatile. I'll be returning soon for a friend's bday and can't wait to explore and experience more!

Yelp
I love this place! I did a staycation and it was just a lovely time. The hotel is beautiful of course but my fave part was the customer service and valet staff. The rooms were nice and clean and sound proof and the guests were calm and quiet at night. There's a spacious rooftop bar and plenty things to do in the area. Do check it out!

Yelp
1. The TV was not working during our entire 3 nights stay. 2. My wife was trying to come back upstairs to our room around midnight, but the elevators were only being used for people going to the rooftop club, which was at capacity and had a line around the block. She was told she needed to go the front desk, where someone would escort her to a separate elevator in the back. This whole process took around 20 minutes. It should not be this difficult to go back to your room when you're staying at the hotel. 3. The lights were counterintuitive. You couldn't turn on the bathroom lights without putting a card key in a slot next to the bathroom. We had to have a maintenance person come up and tell us this as there was no signage or instruction at checkin that did. We were told it is to conserve energy, which doesn't make sense as you can turn on all the other lights in the room without doing this.

Yelp
Amazing is the only word I would use to describe the Eaton DC. I stayed here for 4 nights on business at the convention center conveniently located about a 7-min walk here. There are also a ton of shops and some of DCs top restaurants within walking distance. From the moment I checked in, everything was absolutely perfect. The decor and atmosphere is full of this young, fresh, eccentric energy. I was in a corner room on the 8th floor and I was in awe with all of the wonderful touches they put in the room. There's the beautiful green-tiled bathroom with gold accents, the real record player with vinyls, the super huge and comfy king size bed, everything was great. The staff at the hotel was super friendly and helpful, and always asked how they could 'quench my soul' anytime I called or passed by the front desk. Some things I especially loved were: The actual workshop, located in the SW corner of the hotel, which is a great place to work when you don't want to be confined to the four walls of your hotel room. Kintsugi - coffee/tea shop in the NW corner of their hotel. Service is absolutely wonderful and they have some awesome options (Turmeric latte, anybody?) The library - their cocktail bar that looks like a library. There was a big group when I passed by so I stayed in the lounge area right outside which was very quiet and a great place for quiet conversation (they'll also serve you drinks there, if you ask nicely :) ) The rooftop (WILD DAYS) and their restaurant (American Son) - both SUPERB spots in the DC area, you can check out my reviews on those pages If you are hesitating with staying at the Eaton, please just book that night and you won't regret it. I can't wait til I'm back in DC, I'll most definitely be spending some more time here!

Yelp
Eaton DC is a hotel/co-working space/restaurant/bar/coffee shop/event space/wellness center/library/speakeasy/art gallery/radio station in downtown DC. Seriously, it really is all those things. Eaton DC's owner and staff are artists and activists with a mission to create a gathering space for the creative and activist community in Washington, D.C. With the opening of Eaton DC in downtown DC close to the White House, it will become just that. Eaton is a large building beautifully designed. When you walk in, you enter the hotel lobby with a news stand and library. If you're a guest, you will be guided to one of the 209 rooms each with their own identity (and it's only around $199 per night). Every room comes with curated books, art, and records (there's a record player in each room). Local snacks and drinks are in the room and every room is beautifully decorated. Also on the lobby level is a radio station with 12 hours of daily programming, a restaurant (American Son), a speakeasy (Allegory), a coffee shop (Kintsugi Cafe), a co-working space, and a 50-seat theater. Above the lobby level are several reading areas, conference rooms, and a wellness center with meditation rooms, a dry sauna, and yoga studios. The rooftop has a beautiful event space/bar called Wild Days with rooftop seating looking out on downtown DC. Eaton DC is one of the most beautiful hotels in the city and there's no doubt it's lifestyle will become the life of DC's creative and activist scene.

Yelp
The Eaton DC overall love the aesthetic of this hotel. We came here during Go-Go week. Lol I'm Jamaican so Go-Go to me means something else, but it's was a nice celebration. We had a queen suite, which was beautiful. We also purchase some records to play on the vinyl player in the room (the room come with vinyl records, no need to purchase any) that was just our choice. The only problem we experience was with room service. When we came back from dinner and called front desk for eating utensils, we were told that they will not being it up, we have to come down for it with a slight attitude. Smh Funny thing is when we checked in, we were told "if we needed anything microwave, towel, etc just call and we'll bring it up"

Yelp
High priced hotel for mediocre accommodations. Very poor lighting. Terrible water pressure. Had to pay $4 per bottle in their shop for water when I couldn't get enough cold water from the tap to fill a glass. Absolutely nothing appealing about the rooms. Felt like I was in a dark, old fashioned motel room. Decent location. Nice desk staff. But otherwise? I'd look elsewhere

Yelp
Be advised - I felt afraid staying there. Not a place I would stay again. I reached out to hotel security after my stay and received no response. So they are clearly not not taking this seriously.
