I should have believed all the bad reviews but stubbornly gave this place a try. Unfortunately, the comments about the weird smell in the restaurant are accurate—it’s noticeable as soon as you walk in and sets the tone for the meal.
We ordered the chicken lollipop, which wasn’t bad. The tom yum soup is what I was looking forward to, however, had the same off-putting smell as the restaurant and tasted rotten. After one spoonful, we had to send it back. The chicken red curry was okay, but the portion of chicken was small, and the rice serving was small—we ended up ordering a side of fried rice just to finish the curry. On a positive note, the chicken pad kee mao was good. The Thai iced tea, though, was mostly ice and not creamy enough, which was disappointing.
The service was lackluster, with only one waitress working the whole restaurant. It took forever to get our order taken, and the overall experience felt disorganized. To top it off, the “cash discount” policy penalizes you for paying with a credit card—something every business owner should factor into their cost of doing business instead of passing it on to customers.
Overall, not a great experience. The smell is unappetizing, and it’s hard to enjoy your food when you feel like you need to cautiously sniff every dish. I really hope they address these issues.
