Google
A fantastic spot for a post-dinner treat with family and friends. The service was excellent, the soft serve was creamy and perfectly balanced—not too sweet—and the variety of toppings and magic shell flavors added a fun twist. The relaxed seating area made it a great place to unwind and chat.

Google
Has been of my absolute favorite places in Portland for years. The most amazing and delicious dessert! My friends and I love coming here even though it takes an hour driving. So worth it - definitely check it out!!

Google
I am obsessed with Eb & Bean and have been since 2017. It’s hard for me not to visit every time in Portland! The unique flavors and quality toppings make it such a fun treat. Amazing for a non-diary eater like myself. Get a shell and the cookie dough if you’re feeling extra fancy.

Google
This place serves up great frozen yogurt and soft serve. I tried the mango lassi topped with raw honey, coconut flakes, and cake crumbs – delicious!

Google
You can tell they make the cones and sauces in house. FroYo is great, always some cool seasonal locators besides the standard van / choc

Lian Prost-Hughart

Google
Soft serve is creamy and not too sweet, and the selection of toppings and magic shell flavors is fun! Loved how chill their seating area is, perfect for a sweet treat and conversation after dinner.

Google
While I didn’t partake as after a few samples I decided it wasn’t for me, my Husband and Daughter really enjoyed it. Prices are as expected for local shop, and they had gluten free ice cream sandwiches which I probably should have tried. 🤦‍♀️ Cute setting and decor.

Google
The frozen yogurt was decent, with a nice selection of flavors, but the topping options were really lacking. The service was fine, and while the shop itself was small, it still felt spacious enough.

Yelp
Vegan and Dairy ice cream offerings. Interesting flavors including Mango Lassi, Amaretto Sour etc... Service was fast, friendly and efficient!

Yelp
Frozen yogurt is a very nostalgic treat for me. It was all the rage about a decade ago so I appreciate spots like Eb & Bean that keep froyo around with an artisanal twist. I appreciate that they provide some recommendations of flavor and topping combos; it really helps narrow down the overwhelming choice of froyo flavor and fix-ins. No matter what, I have yet to be disappointed with anything I get here. This time I opted for the Plum Marzipan (seasonal dairy-free flavor) with Papa Haydn Coconut Hazelnut Crumb. The subtle flavor of the sweet plum with the creamy almond milk surprisingly work well together, I was impressed! The cake crumb added even more nutty flavor that made for such an enjoyable treat. Something I've noticed is that their flavors are never too sweet and with that they do not compromise the flavor profiles. I truly wish there is an Eb & Bean on the West side of town, preferably Beaverton area because I would be frequenting this spot so much!

Yelp
The frozen yogurt here is good but the service is dreadfully slow. They are always distracted and take forever to put together your yogurt. What's worse, often there's a long, barely moving line and there will be a second employee behind the counter or in the back but they won't come out to help the overworked front employee and the line just drags on and on ... management needs to seriously change how this place works or it's just not worth coming to.

Yelp
First time at Eb & Bean. We ordered from the staff pick menu: I had earl gray in a cone with a yummy berry topping and my hubby had the purple cheesecake in a bowl with an assortment of toppings. I loved mine beginning to end and my hubby was enthusiastic about his but he lost interest towards the end - he thought his toppings didn't taste good with his yogurt. Anyway, it's a cute place with a good amount of seating and big windows to people watch.

Yelp
It's been FAR too long since I had Eb and Bean. But still it's my favorite frozen treat. I love tbag I can always rely on delicious non-dairy flavors and vegan toppings!! We went pretty late on a Saturday, arriving around 9pm but there was no line and in all fairness it was pretty cold out so most sane people don't want anything frozen. But I love that it's a super nice treat that isn't crazy filling or heavy. Now that it's back in my mind, and at the front, I envision more winter frozen treat days!!! In the summer it's a busy spot, usually with pretty good lines but they're worth it. It's super chill (pun intended) inside and not loud except for the buzz or conversation. Winter has it SUPER quiet but I don't mind it. As long as I get to enjoy!!

Yelp
The key lime pie with the cookie butter syrup and coconut whipped cream was absolutely delicious! The place is clean with lots to sit, inside or outside. The service was good, the gentleman were nice and laughed at my silliness.

Yelp
I appreciate ice cream places that have dairy free options. This place only had heavy flavors for their vegan offerings. My options were chocolate, peanut butter, strawberry but with hazelnut, etc. I would appreciate lighter, less bitter, possibly fruit flavors. I was unclear which toppings were safe for me to eat so I didn't get any. The quality was good and my friend liked their flavor choice.
google avatar

Af R.

Yelp
Good, but servings are way too small for price! It's such a small portion. Also, some flavors taste kinda watery.
google avatar

Stephanie A.

Yelp
If you're looking for a unique soft serve place with non dairy options then this is it! The creamiest non dairy soft serve I've ever had! I went with a swirl of the Palm sugar peanut and salted chocolate - both made with almond milk, and then got coconut and caramel topping. Amazing blend of flavors, creamy, sweet, salty, decadent amazing.

Yelp
Eb & Bean is honestly a hidden gem in Portland -- so unassuming and small but packed with some of the most delicious frozen desserts in the Portland area. I dropped by on a random weeknight with a friend and was genuinely blown away by the deliciousness~ I was not feeling adventurous so I went with a classic -- vanilla with some hot fudge and caramel crunchy toppings. When I tell you, I INHALED it. I truly mean it -- imagine a short short person morphing into Kirby and destroying a dessert. That's essentially what happened. I'm known to be the slowest eater on the face of the planet and I finished eating this before all of my friends combined. The frozen yogurt was great and the toppings were top notch; good taste and did not taste artificial AT ALL. If you are debating best frozen dessert options in Portland, let me make it simple for you and HIGHLY recommend this as something that should rank near the top!

Yelp
Incredible-- keep walking past the over priced and over sugared salt and straw and come here. Best ice cream in the city served soft serve still with very well crafted topping selection.

Yelp
Best frozen yogurt in the PNW! Great choices for non-dairy as well. The portion sizes are quite big, we were satisfied with our kid sizes.

Yelp
Cute little ice cream place a great area to cool off, especially with the summer heat. We got the Triple Blueberry Chevre highly recommended with oatmeal cookies; and white chocolate chips. Good size portions for a large we paid $5.50 for a bowl. One other note does the side-by-side rather than the swirl due to more ice cream amount. Here is the menu http://www.ebandbean.com/menu They also have an excellent salty Carmel that tastes like bourbon. Friendly staff, wearing masks when serving.
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Fantastic. I love that their non dairy flavors are not boring. Fun toppings and friendly, patient staff.

Yelp
A great assortment of tasty and flavorful yogurts to fill your fancy for a dessert after dinner on the weekend. Never noticed this place before but saw it walking by my wife suggested that we go in and I'm glad that we did. I chose a special kind of chocolate yogurt and my wife chose the salted caramel, of course like always..., but still it was good and the added caffeine bourbon syrup made it all the more taste year and those marshmallows gave it a softness but they kind of freeze when they're in ice cream or yogurt's so unless you're into that I don't recommend it but I do! Cute little shop for sure and recommend it and the pricing is reasonable.

Bryan S.

Yelp
Loveeee this place but the service kinda sucks. I've gone twice and have been served by the same grumpy girl. Both times I was really excited for some soft serve and both times was met with attitude. Other than that, the soft serve here is phenomenal!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious soft serve with a nice amount of quality toppings! I got a cookie butter "magic" shell, which was very tasty! Fast and friendly service, too!
google avatar

Yelp
Just took our kids here! Got the chocolate with two toppings for the kids and I got the passion fruit (non diary - oat). Hand downs amazing! Didn't feel guilty at all!

Yelp
I just moved to this area in May, so I had not yet found my way to ab & Bean, but I finally made it there tonight with my hubs! First, what a simple, cute little shop! Second, ohmygod, the toppings! I'll be honest. I am not a big fro-yo fan, because I've never really had any that measured up to a great ice cream, but this was pretty damn tasty. I'm a purist, so I had the Madagascar Vanilla topped with coconut whipped cream, organic blueberries, and toasted coconut (been lovin' on the coconut since before it was trendy). If you're a vanilla fan, like me, you'll appreciate the way it shines through in this, but good luck with trying to contain yourself when it's time to choose toppings. They have everything from sauces and chocolate chips to cocoa nibs, fresh fruit and candied ginger. PS - I'm egg-, gluten-, and almond-free and still had plenty to choose from. Yes! Next time, getting the v/gf cookie dough. :) My husband also had vanilla, but topped it with bourbon sauce, toasted coconut, and coconut whipped cream. He said his sauce was the "kicker". I know where you go for ice cream around here, but ditch the crazy lines and give this place a try. I'm really glad I did! Organic, diet and allergy-friendly, non-gmo, no preservatives, local, etc. what are you waiting for? They're open late to serve your late night cravings....how thoughtful. :)

Yelp
Beats our salt & straw 10/10 times. The local toppings are what make this place soooo good. Best dessert in Portland- brownies and hot fudge make it.

Yelp
Eb and Bean is the constant joy of knowing that dairy free ice cream will not taste like poo! I had the pleasure of going to the first location years ago on Broadway and now I frequent the SE location on a weekly basis. Eb and Bean is the first place that I have truly enjoyed the dairy free ice cream besides Back 2 Eden. My favorite toppings are sift cookie dough and peanut butter hard shell. Both are vegan and you would not even begin to tell. The flavors are always changing so it is hard to tell you my favorite. I have enjoyed the banana one, a pumpkin one and a vanilla one. I actually pretty much like all of them minus one or two. They have At least 4 vegan flavors at a time though. The service here though is so darn exceptional. These employees they are hire are amazing. I have never had a bad interaction with one employee ever! They are so kind, patient and charismatic. Tip them because they deserve it!

Yelp
Eb & Bean was right around the corner from our Air Bnb. We decided to give it a shot after feeling guilty about all the Salt & Straw and Pip's doughnuts we ate. Unfortunately, it just didn't satisfy my sweet tooth. But I loved the cool indoor hallway space that the businesses share!

Elisa S.

Yelp
This place is good but doesn't stand out from other froyo places. My kids prefer being able to add their own toppings.
google avatar

Yelp
Finally checked this place out. Went on a Thursday evening after dinner and the line was out the door! They have Many declious flavors and toppings to choose from. Place is Kid friendly. Staff is limited but helpful and let you sample the flavors. Loved the non dairy options And twists. Omg so many choices! Kept our orders simple and ate it there by the bear. They even have punch cards. Go check this place out! we learned that Eb and Bean are the owners kids nicknames. :)

Yelp
Super cute space, creatively decorated with models of ice desserts. The staff was very accomodating and attentive. We got the Vanilla Roasted Macademia with SIFT Cookie Dough and Dark Chocolate Chip and the Salted Pistachio Chocolate with Berry Bark and Hazelnuts. I preferred the Salted Pistachio Chocolate more than the Vanilla Roasted Macademia froyo. The taste was made complex with a hint of sea salt, enhancing the chocolate texture. All the toppings were nice. I particularly enjoyed the Berry Bark and the Cookie Dough. However, all the toppings can get a little too sweet once you've had a lot; the staff that served us was very generous with the toppings. Sadly, the Vanilla Roasted Macademia had a very weird, confusing taste. This was made worse by its gritty texture. You could hardly taste any vanilla in this froyo. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Eb&Bean. It really is a nice, open space to relax and hangout. As long as you do your research and pick the "right" froyo, you'll have a great froyo time here.

Yelp
Wonderful ice cream with a variety of toppings and a pleasant ambiance. Service was fine nothing to write about. There chocolate magic shells are what brought me there and I'm glad I went

Yelp
Good non dairy products. Will go back soon to try tart yogurt and other yogurt flavor frozen treats. Very interesting delicious treat side add ons.
google avatar

Yelp
A tasty frozen yogurt place with plenty of non-dairy options. I was really happy with the unique flavor options and all the toppings you could imagine putting on top of a frozen treat. The server was also really helpful with making topping suggestions to help narrow things down a bit. Good dessert and good service - I'd call that a win.

Yelp
So we had well over an hour before our little table for two would be ready at the ridiculously popular Pok Pok down the block. Meanwhile, our biggest meal up to that point on that special first day in Portland was taking individual bites of four yeast-raised monstrosities at Voodoo Doughnuts, so it would be appropriate to describe Jamie W. and me as feeling peckish anticipating our upcoming green papaya salad. When we passed by this trendy yet spacious shop, we were naturally intrigued. There was a polar bear in a ski cap and ice cream pop art on the wall (photo: http://bit.ly/2ujpQ7l). They had chocolate and vanilla, but of course, it had to be Valrhona Chocolate and Madagascar Vanilla. What was more intriguing to us were the two non-dairy froyo options that were apparently made from almond milk. Something sweet before dinner couldn't hurt, right? Jamie went for the Hazelnut Praline which for a small $3.95 cup, was a generously tall serving (photo: http://bit.ly/2KKa1BF). That meant I had to get a small cup of the Vanilla Latte which plopped over in pure exhaustion from the spigot (photo: http://bit.ly/2KVvBTc). Refreshing and not too sweet. It was the perfect unintended appetizer on such an eventful Portland day. FROYO - 4 stars...smooth dairy-free froyo worth seeking out AMBIANCE - 4 stars...stylish spot that manages to be kid-friendly SERVICE - 4 stars...she was generous with the spigots TOTAL - 4 stars...froyo appetizers make sense to me

Yelp
First time having organic non dairy soft serve. I got the Madagascar vanilla and added the newtella magic shell and the almond toffee crumbles as my toppings. The madagascar vanilla was the best flavor I sampled so I ended up getting it. The other flavors I tried were either tasteless, not sweet or too sour. The flavors were really limited..... The newtella topping is suppose to be like Nutella, but a less sweet version that Eb and Bean made. It was pretty tasty with the crunchy almond toffee crumbles! It went well with the ice cream. Downside was......the girl that was helping us didn't look like she wanted to be there......her facial expression said it all......it didn't make my first experience that great......but it was a cute shop and the ice cream wasn't bad. It is a bit on the expensive side for ice cream.

Yelp
Came across this place while our recent visit to Portland. There was a long queue when we went, so got curious about the hype. We did not wait in the line but the next day we came early at around 11:30 am and there was like one group ahead of us. The staff was friendly and was following COVID protocol. I ordered salty pistachio and vegan chocolate with hazelnuts on the top and my friend ordered salty pistachio with Nutella magic shell. The salty pistachio was extremely salty for our taste buds so did not enjoy it that much. The vegan chocolate was good overall. Positive thing about this place is that they have great vegan and gluten-free options. So anyone who is allergic to dairy or gluten will definitely love this place.
google avatar

Keely N.

Yelp
Amazing vegan frozen yogurt shop! Affordable prices compared to Salt and Straw. The employees have also been super careful about contamination so they're always cleaning after each customer and bringing yogurt one at a time! Love the flavors and always and love the activism of this business!
google avatar

Jenny Y.

Yelp
You know, I've always been indifferent about this place. Unlike your usual froyo places, this is not self-served. You pick from either a small or large size, each topping is additi5. They have the classics: chocolate, Madagascar vanilla, and a tart flavor year round. The flavor that we decided to get was salted chocolate sesame. We picked this flavor because it was unique, as you know, I've been on a sesame crave. Added brownie toppings- a yummy choice. To be honest, for the price we paid, I felt a little deceived. The swirl was pretty, but come on now, fill it up with frozen yogurt would have been nice. As we dug into it, the center was empty. Points for creativity on the flavors, but nothing stands out to me. Walked in and was disappointed with the handful of selection, but felt bad if we walked out without ordering. So we got a small to share. Won't be back for a while...
google avatar

Molly S.

Yelp
This spot is delicious. I got the dairy free vanilla roasted macadamia nut with espresso brownie topping, and it was killer. The sizes are proportioned and their prices are reasonable (especially for dairy free frozen yogurt). I would definitely hit this spot again to beat the Oregon summer heat!

Yelp
Uhmm yes! Yum yum yum!! Eb & Bean is so delicious you have to stop by! Just like all the other ice cream/froyo places you can try any of their flavors on the board (there are 6-8) but the really cool thing about this place is their non-dairy ice cream. IT IS SO GOOD AND CREAMY! Yum! My partner is lactose intolerant and doesn't like the non-dairy options typically but here, he says he can't even taste the difference. And to be honest, I can't either! The only downfall is that it is quite expensive for your small ice cream... and if you end up getting some deluxe toppings (~$0.85 ea).... well you could end up with a $8 bill for one - easily! So just be mindful of that. Otherwise, it's divine.
google avatar

Jeanne Z.

Yelp
I love this ice cream shop!! It has really well-done local and unique flavors, but at the same time not being overwhelming- with too many choices. It is well balanced, and done just right. Including having options for lactose-free people and also the gluten-free lifestyles that are still equally as tasty, fun and unique as the traditional choices!!
google avatar

Jone V.

Yelp
What a win-win: cool location (next door to Bollywood Movies) and great ice cream (without the calories, nomnom). I can imagine it is #hardtoresist this place! Following my normal tradition in ice cream/fro-yo flavors, I tried the raspberry crème fraîche (amazing!) but still went for the chocolate-chocolate combo. I really thought from the taste that I was eating ice cream and not frozen yoghurt! Then after asking around, I learned that the owner went to Paris (yes, Paris, France) to culminate her studies in the craft of making ice cream. How cool is that? So not only do you get organically based ingredients, you also have a chef who has mastered the art of flavors. Allez-vite, allez ici! This store is located on SE Division, meaning parking can be a small search. I got lucky and found a spot close by, off on a side street, even though the weather was gorgeous Wednesday. It's a wonderful store.
google avatar

Louise G.

Yelp
It's really tasty and the staff seem to take such care when they prepare it. . .however, the servings size is small compared to the price. You only get a little tower of fro-yo and then if you add toppings it's like $6.
google avatar

Jessie T.

Yelp
I have no idea how I have lived most of my life not knowing about this place. For some reason, several events in the last few months has had me come in here a few times. Every time, the employee who works there is so present and so joyful about sharing tastes and flavors and engaging in conversation with customers about the product, that the whole experience just makes my day. Close by is a very famous ice cream shop just blocks away with a line that goes for miles it seems, when I would suggest walking a few more blocks, crossing the street, and heading here. Hands-down, the flavors are incredible, mind blowing, and without the fuss and the line. I can't believe that every time I've been there, I've had no wait. Check out my photos and see what I mean. They serve generous portions, interesting flavors, and the people who work there are really chill and want you to enjoy the whole experience.
google avatar

Kodi T.

Yelp
Wow! What a great experience. The person who helped us was so kind as we stood there and tried just about every flavor. The flavors are all so unique and I loved them all. I chose a raspberry magic shell that hardened on the fro-yo with fresh blueberries as my toppings. Unfortunately the toppings were a bit overpowering .. so next time I will probably just go for a simple swirl of the basic flavor! Will definitely be returning.
google avatar

Jermel-Lynn Q.

Yelp
This is my first time here. I heard about this place through a friend after we had a long dinner. We wanted something really sweet but my friend Brooke knew that I have stomach sensitivity issues when it comes to dairy. So, she suggested this place. Since this place is on division you can expect there to be very little availability when it comes to parking. Especially when it's during the summertime. However, it is worth the wait and the effort. I have tasted a lot of sweets in my day. I have a really big sweet tooth. When I arrived at this place, the atmosphere was super cute. What I loved about this place is that they have an array of selection of chocolate that is actually made in Oregon or the chocolate is sourced from other countries that would benefit from someone purchasing the chocolate. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. What I really appreciate about this place is that they have an array of selection for people that are sensitive to dairy or are lactose intolerant. They do you have flavors that switch off every month and what's really great about this place is that it's open late at night. So if you're looking for a place that's similar to the feel of salt and straw but are vegan/vegetarian friendly than you should come here!!! This place makes their flavors with almond or coconut milk. I truly love the taste. Just because it is made out of coconut or almond milk that does not mean that the essence of ice cream is lost. It's so delicious and I will definitely be back for more. I cannot wait to see what other flavors you folks have in store for this summer!
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Eb & Bean because I love tart froyos! It's cool that you get to customize your swirl with whatever toppings you want. The interior is very minimalistic and has that Portland hipter vibe.
google avatar

Cindy A.

Yelp
We came to try Eb & Bean today because it offers some vegan choices and its located near the place we went for lunch. When we first walked in there was no one at the counter and after looking around a few minutes we walked out and entered through the hallway door. A lady finally appeared to help us but it was clear she had something better to do in back. We got a small raspberry hibiscus made with coconut milk and a small chocolate peanut butter made with almond milk. While we both enjoyed our selections we agreed that it was a bit over priced for the portion size.
google avatar

L D.

Yelp
As if this place wasn't overpriced and surly already, I quit when I hit 12 on their lunch-card. I should have see it coming; they wouldn't even allow me to get several punches on the card per visit, no matter if I bought 4 fro-yos for folks, they still only allowed one punch, which makes this place one overpriced and rude rip-off. I started going to Salt & Straw instead of here when I met the mean owner at the Broadway location, and when I read the FINE PRINT on their punch card, it says that if you buy 12 fro-yos (you only get one stamp per visit...and most punch cards only go up to 10, dang wtf), you after you fill the punch card, you can only get a free "SMALL with one topping only, or an item of equal or lesser value." That's just rude and scammy to do that to your customers, way before COVID happened and businesses became even more predatory. How could this place become even more of a rip off and predatory idk, but I'd hate to imagine it. Salt & Straw is yummier (and a stone's throw from the Division location of this place) and also courteous and kind; I've forgotten my wallet twice there late at night and they gave me my order for free because that's how you treat a loyal repeat customer! Also, read the review replies from the manager of the various Eb & Bean locations (if they haven't taken them down) - they're so rude! I've worked food service for a long time and I'm baffled by how many bad reviews they get taken down (well, I imagine that bribing and complaining isn't baffling actually...how else do notorious scam moving companies get A+ ratings on BBB when they have multiple legal complaints and lawsuits against them? This place reminds me of that).
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
Excellent organic frozen yogurt. The flavor options here are delicious and not your normal ones, but not crazy flavors. I like the hard shell Nutella sauce on the yogurt...it just makes it better! The decor is nice and simple and also open. The staff was patient and accommodating by allowing me to sample many flavors. I would come here again.
google avatar

Dana K.

Yelp
Really overpriced. They swirl the froyo in the cup and leave the center completely hollow. It's not particularly creamy or special. But it's not like, gross or weird or anything so I guess 3 stars.
google avatar

Tyler T.

Yelp
We got the strawberry frozen yogurt/ice cream here and it was not good. I was expecting something more diverse and rich in taste and while the first few bites were decent, after a while you couldn't really taste or appreciate much else about the ice cream and just kind of wish it would end.
google avatar

Mikhail H.

Yelp
FANCY FRO YO! Woah amazing! I was new here and had no idea what to try or anything So, I asked to try the Garden Mint, Chocolate and the Madagascar Vanilla. The mint, honestly was like toothpaste BUT you can't win them all. The chocolate was much for me that night and the vanilla was perfection. So I grabbed that and topped it with marionberry compote and fresh blueberries...it was perfection. I got my first one for free and now I'm addicted for sure!
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
It's not often that you hear about gourmet frozen yogurt places but now you know of one! The servers here are all very friendly and patient. They let you sample quit a few of the flavors, some of which are fairly unique. Since it's fro-yo, pairs of flavors can come in a swirl and they are very clear about which ones are paired. There are numerous toppings you can add to your dessert all of which are more fancy and gourmet, including options for shells. The cool thing is that they have a lot of vegan options both for their yogurts and their toppings so if you're lactose intolerant you can still enjoy yourself here! The only issue is that getting a dessert here can be a bit pricy as the froyo itself isn't cheap and neither are toppings. But you do get what you pay for, good quality dessert.
