"Two hours northwest of Seattle, this National Historical Reserve celebrates the early pioneers who came to Whidbey Island for its rich soil and promising seaport. The reserve also shelters one of the area's most stunning all-season hikes: 5.6 miles round-trip, with just 260 feet of elevation gain. The path threads through wildflower-dotted fields for a mile before bursting onto high coastal cliffs fringed with golden prairie grass. (Bird buffs should pause here for a peek down into the lagoon.) Continue another mile before descending to a wide beach, which offersepic views of Puget Sound as well as the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges. (Note:Hikers starting from the Ebey's Landing parking lot need a Discover Pass, good for all state parks, discoverpass.wa.gov)."

Absolutely wonderful hike! We took the scenic route through the preserve down to the beach. If my smart watch is to be believed, about 5 miles round trip total. Definitely recommend it to any that can handle traversing some decent inclines + declines with a bit of loose sand. Great lookout stops and photo opportunities. Photos are in reverse order; from finish to start.

Gorgeous hike (we hiked the Bluff trail) with fantastic views all around, and the whole time. Easy hike overall but long enough that you feel that you get enough of a workout. We recommend starting by going up and then looping back on the beach. In addition to the views, we loved the flowers and the birds (so many of them). It took us about 2 1/2 hours to do the hike, with many photo stops and a stop to eat our picnic along the way. Highly recommend! Discover Pass required but you can also park along the road for free.

Visited on a May weekend. It was chill and windy. Place was scenic and you can do a short hike for stunning views.

Beautiful beach walk under the bluffs and to a big lagoon, and a stunning hike atop the bluffs overlooking the lagoon and sea with views of the Olympics.

Ebey's Landing is a breathtaking blend of history and natural beauty on Whidbey Island. The coastal bluffs offer stunning views of the Puget Sound, Olympic Mountains, and nearby farmland. The hiking trails are well-maintained and provide a serene escape into nature. The area’s rich history, reflected in preserved historic buildings and landscapes, adds depth to the experience. Ideal for hikers, history buffs, and anyone seeking a peaceful retreat.

We hiked this at sunrise! And although it was cold and wet the views were breathtaking! I highly suggest checking out this hike. Walk the beach and look at all the pretty rocks!😍

Beautiful hike and beautiful views. An amazing sunset and you can do it with a relatively short hike (30 minutes or so). You can also do a longer hike if you’d like. There is space at the bottom to enjoy the beach and views while grabbing a bite. Overall, a beautiful park.

This place was so incredibly beautiful. A 5 mile hike, with a beach at the end of the trail to walk down too. We ended up walking along the beach to get back up to the other side, and back up to our parking spot which was shorter to go this way then the way we came. The ledge is pretty narrow, and I do not recommend this hike for smaller children, for there are no safety rails. Recommend hiking in sunny conditions and not when it is windy or raining out. Happy with this hike, so worth it.
