Ebisu Review - Sunset - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"In a city overflowing with casual sushi spots, Ebisu stands out. This place has been in the Inner Sunset for over forty years, and is still packed with people here for straightforward rolls, nigiri, and handrolls, and superb appetizers, like miso-glazed eggplant and agedashi tofu. Things here also run smoothly: Even though Ebisu is loud and the tables are somewhat cramped, the service is quick and the people running it are always checking in on you. Post up at the sushi counter where things feel less chaotic, stick to the rolls, and pay extra attention to the specials on the board, like half-shell oysters. Food Rundown Miso Glazed Eggplant Thick miso sauce topped with toasted sesame makes this dish. It’s spread over two eggplant slices and is melt-in-your-mouth creamy. Sriracha comes on the side, but you won’t really need it. Behind The Green Door We’re into just about anything topped with maui onions, so we love Behind The Green Door. For the seafood, shrimp tempura on the inside, and bonito on top. The whole thing is slathered with an aioli. photo credit: Krescent Carasso Nigiri We stick to the specialty rolls at Ebisu, but turn to the specials behind the long sushi counter if we’re looking for straight fish. The nigiri is simple and solid—just don’t go in expecting any gold foil or caviar treatment." - Lani Conway

It's a nice place to tour and buy Asian products. There are anime figures, snacks and personal hygiene products. I liked how organized and clean it is. The staff is very friendly and greets you when you enter and wishes you a good day when you leave. They also have a small place where they prepare sushi and ramen, it smells really delicious. Worth a walk here ❤️

A pretty cool mix of services here, an entire section for japanese goods and collectibles, and also a small section for hot foods and bubble tea. They've got their own self serve machine should you really want to use it, and also a couple of tables. The bubble tea was a bit lacking unfortunately, definitely not my first spot for it.

Affordable japanese packaged snacks, accessories and food with great variety at decent prices. They have an in-house restaurant and serve onigiri, sushi rolls, hand rolls, mochi ice cream and milk and fruit teas. Definitely recommend. For snacks, they have all sorts of crazy flavors of lays and variety kitkats and pocky sticks that you find in Japan, most of the classic japanese vending machine canned coffee, japanese cutlery and small toys etc. The onigiri was decent. They definitely reminded me of Japan.

Ran into this little market in SoHo! It was so cute and had a lot to offer with different gifts I was able to purchase to bring back home. Would love to come back and see what else they have.

This shop has the reasonable price for Japanese stuff. From Makeup, toys to snacks. The staffs were very nice and let me use the restroom. I bought some comestic stuff and snacks. I also found the glassware that I like, I will get it next week, I can’t carry it back home this time.

I L💖VE this place! So many adorable and fun things! If you're looking for a unique lil gift from Japan or just something interesting for yourself this place has it! From Shin Chan to a myriad of anime characters I don't know (sorry y'all I only watch Shin Chan, Space Dandy, and Cowboy Bebop) to interesting lil Japanese items like little sheets of hand soap you'll find something cute here. Oh and they have a little restaurant at this location.
