"Ebrik Coffee Room closes after six years in downtown Atlanta due to financial hardships stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Located just south of Woodruff Park, Ebrik was a popular spot for Georgia State University students and Atlanta’s gig workers and creative community to gather. Abbas Arman, Basel Nassri, and Ruba Alhenaw tell Eater Atlanta they are exploring a “return to downtown” for Ebrik once they get a “sense of some economic stability” in the post-pandemic world. In a video posted to Ebrik’s website, the partners and shop’s employees announced the opening of a full-service roastery and online retail operation in neighboring Castleberry Hill, starting with two new coffee blends the “Don’t Sleep on Ebrik” and “Bella Ciao: the Solidarity Blend”. One third of the profits from Bella Ciao go to a local charity listed on Ebrik’s website. The partners say they are continuing to negotiate with the landlord on the Decatur shop, which opened in 2016 near Arepa Mia on East College Avenue. Ebrik’s location inside the Carlos Museum at Emory University should stay put. Ebrik’s name derives from the Turkish word for coffee pot and was known for its Turkish coffee. The community-focused coffee shop featured a small reading library and often hosted open mic nights for local musicians and poets." - Beth McKibben

I came to study because I heard there is a good amount of seating, and that there is, but the interior decoration is a bit lacking. The atmosphere isn’t as comfy as I would have liked it to be. The walls and floors were very sparse where there could have been more.

I came here to specifically try Turkish coffee for the first time. My experience was phenomenal. Turkish coffee is made with cardamom and sugar. Well worth your experience if you like bold flavor and trying new things. We also got a white chocolate mocha frape. Very rich but also very sweet! Would also like to try some of the other creatively labeled drinks.

I love Ebrik, it’s the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee and study. The staff is always super nice, they often create seasonal specials which are always soooo yummy. I love the creativity of the staff in creating new menu items. Definitely check this place out!

I'm here every MWF for class. They are phenomenal. Everyone who works there is super nice, and the coffee is always delicious. I'm partial to the Hamza or the Duvez, but everything I've tried there tastes great. They also have an assortment of breakfast foods which are very good. Do try. You may become a regular.

My fancy gf from Chicago found this gem, cus she loves Turkish coffee. I order the same thing everywhere I go (White Chocolate Mocha) & it was delicious. Kinda small, but plenty of seating (go towards the back) & staff were friendly, customer service oriented. Decor was modern & hipster-ish, so it was a cool vibe. Would definitely recommend & go back.

Loved the varieties of coffees and teas they have. Named after the owner's friend, The Deniz is a Turkish Coffee, with cardamom in it. It's more of a coffee shot than a cup of coffee. Cardamom flavored coffee was a first for me and it was a hit.
