Great public library. There is so much to see and do here. Truly grateful to have visited here last Thursday thanks to a new local veteran friend. I was able to view the exhibit displayed at right of entrance. I look forward to returning in the near future to partake in upcoming events.

This is a Spectacular library. Not only is it huge, but it's quiet; as it should be. It is also beautiful and well taken care of. The library staff is helpful and knowledgeable. The first floor is the children's section that often has different events for kids to attend. If you take the stairs to the second floor you will see tons of computers to use, study rooms for groups, or if you prefer, there are personal study corners ducked off in various places along the walls by the books. If you take a right once you're off the stairs on the second floor you will see an extremely tidy room consisting of Louisiana archives for genealogy searching. It's especially quiet in that room. If you decided to take the elevator instead of the stairs, when you step out of the elevator on to the second floor you will notice a couple of commercial Multi-function machines for all printing/photocopy needs. (I believe it is pay-per-page). Of course, my brief account of the library floor plan could never do it justice. You have to go check it out for yourself.

Awesome library! The smell of the books brings a nostalgic emotional experience that's so peaceful with a warm feeling and they have PLENTY of resources! Don't talk about the private study rooms! OMG I can really focus on my homework!!!

Google
Perfect place overall. Everyone is always friendly, the children section is beautiful and full of life and the teen section has snacks. Plus the bathrooms are wonderful and super clean. More people should come. They host a lot of events. Recently there was a Lebanese festival.

Google
I love this library. Lots of light, separate spaces for kids of different ages, a rooftop garden and the gardens around it all add up to a lovely place to get your media. Not just for readers, they've got a wide collection of things!

Great library! Baton Rouge did this one right. Kind and professional staff always willing to help. I'm in the process of writing a book and the staff at both the River and Main Libraries could not be more helpful!

Stopped by to return some DVDS and recheck out others. Didn’t see the Farmers Market there. Just revisit library today. Checked out new movies. Everything else was great as usual. This library is convenient. Telling It Like it IS! TerryB 🦼

Yelp
Best hidden study spots are in this library! Been going here since college. Plenty of space and rooms for everyone in the family to enjoy. The windows on a sunny day make it fantastic. They even have a seed library for the green thumbs in the making. Second floor bathroom can get a little scary sometimes.

Yelp
We come to the library every two weeks or so to check out books and just explore. There's always events and activities going on. Tonight was the Valentine's Day event. We made bracelets, there was a dyi nail bar with all the colors and cute stickers. You could adopt a dog with the fees waived. There was also a cute photo prop area. There was also a food truck/snowball truck outside. The wind was blowing pretty heavy so you could watch the movie inside or outside.

Yelp
Josh is very good! Go here. Read books. Play games. Have fun! Cubing is pretty cool if you ask me.

Yelp
The EBRP library system is the crown jewel of Baton Rouge. It's shockingly good! So much going on here and of course, books. You can also check out paintings and other art work! Neat!

Yelp
The main location of the EBR library system got a major renovation recently. The interior is clean, modern, and inviting. The kids' section is the back of the first floor and full of adventure. Computer games, coloring sheets, and other hands on activities are available. I am grateful to have such a wonderful resource right in our backyard.

Yelp
Best library in Louisiana!! I have been here a few times. It's a wonderful place to study with WiFi, outlets, printers, clean bathrooms and easy parking available. If you want an undistracted place to study, go to the second floor! They have a big quiet area with tables, reading lamps and comfy chairs. However The first floor is home to DVDs and CDs. The children's area is big and colorful. The teens area is also on the first floor. (It's not really quiet on the first floor) They use Libby app so you can access online resources including audiobooks and movies. It's fantastic. Very helpful staff!

Yelp
This library is so awesome! They have an array of resources and the general design and grounds are aesthetically pleasing as well. Let's talk about the inside first. Multi levels of books are separated according to genre. Especially cutesy is the tucked away young adult section that's themed toward their age groups and also the perfect hiding place for the snacks vending machine. Across the way is a resource center for folks who may be in search of work with job listings and the like. Upstairs where adult fiction resides there are also computers for public use and study/conference rooms you can reserve for free! They also have workshops, classes, and book events you can attend. Now for the outside...They have a beautiful botanical garden and walking path. Great for a day time date when the weather allows. Outdoors in the summer they have family friendly events such as movies they project on a big screen. Soon enough there will be a cafe for folks like myself who like to have a bite to eat while we read. And most days there is a cutesy gelato ice cream bar just in front of the library to tempt you on your way in or out. Did I mention, they also have a drive thru for pick up and drop off of books!? You don't even have to exit your vehicle! It's amaze. I'd also like to praise the staff here for being super helpful. Today, Kelly went above and beyond to locate a couple of books I was in need of. Including taking the initiative to contact another local branch for me. Thanks Kelly!

Yelp
I grew up going to the main public library branch on Goodwood. This library is amazing! As you drive in to park, The modern landscape leads you towards the modern glass and steel building. Props to BatonRouge for bringing in some modern architecture! It's not only cool on the outside but it's cool on the inside too! The outdoor Area as you're walking towards the entrance of the building has tables and chairs set around for people to leisurely read and soak up the sun. There's a water feature. A small grassy area that could be used for theater. As you walk in to your left is where you would check out or return your books. Now in this modern age you can get online to renew your books, no more going to the library to renew them! They have a room for Justines only. Video audio a plethora of computers to use. I could get lost in this place just getting distracted in the stacks

Yelp
This is one of the most beautiful library facilities I have ever seen here in Baton Rouge. It's massive, spacious, contemporary and filled with many resources waiting to fill the minds of all ages. I am diggin' all the modern touches of this library and all of the cool programs they offer there, too. Remember going to those libraries in the past where they were dark and dingy and you were pretty much urged to keep quiet all that time? I'm not saying that it's okay to be loud and obnoxious there, but it's just nice that there are areas, where you can socialize. It's always quite lovely that that it's bright inside with so much natural light entering in. The courtyard is incredibly beautiful, too. It's a nice place to enjoy a good book on a cool, crisp morning or afternoon. So, if you are looking for a library that isn't boring and old, head on down here and enjoy so much of what they offer inside and outside. It was nice to see that the outdoor courtyard opened up to the BREC botanical gardens, too. Great job on this library, Baton Rouge! I'll be coming here more often.

Yelp
Well, no one takes the time to visit their cities' library or libraries because the connotation of the noun simply sounds antiquated. Surely the ability of only being able to access books comes to mind, and it makes the term seem stale. Many people from other cities should think along those lines, but surely not the citizens of East Baton Rouge Parish. This highly-intuitive and cultural center has so many main focuses, that "books" are hardly ever even accessed by many customers, yet MANY INTERESTING and COOL things to do are always present. Nighttime movies, special guests, concerts and more make this Goodwood MainLibrary of East Baton Rouge an absolutely amazing feature available to its residents.

Yelp
This is a massive library with every resource you can think of! I took a tour of the children's section today and can't wait to bring my little one back for story time.

Yelp
I love this library! It's big and beautiful! They have a big selection of DVDs to choose from. Lots of brand new movies too. Upstairs are the adult books. I love how they showcase the news books by categories right when you get upstairs. The staff are very friendly are willing to help you find the books you are looking for. They have a huge selection of books to choose from. They have lots of computers to use and seats that overlook the gardens to read in. The library also has lots of events for all ages.

Yelp
The beautiful, hip looking new Main Library is now open and there is a Grand Opening celebration scheduled for mid-April 2014! I enjoy the BREC gardens adjacent to the new structure, so I watched this wonderful place being built! Parking is a challenge because the old structure is still in place. I suggest you park by the rose gardens (you get to enjoy them) and walk thru to the entrance. This is the shortest distance right now! The main floor features a wonderful kid friendly section loaded with great books, videos and computers! There are plenty of places for kids and adults to read and study! Our son loves the characters that are featured throughout the space! There are plenty of activities scheduled for young readers so be sure to ask. Everyone is extremely friendly and ready to help! The teen section is in it's own enclosed section. Last week I noticed groups of teens studying for exams in the study rooms! There are vending machines in this section for the young folks to enjoy. Also on the first floor there is a large collection of music cd's and movies. You will find everything from Jazz to Rock in the music section. The DVD's feature popular movies and many TV Series. I noticed an audio book section as well. You can take the elevator or the stairs up to the second floor and that's where the fiction and non-fiction books are housed. There is a comfortable reading room that overlooks the park as well as plenty of table space for you to spread out and work, read or study! The surprise is the third floor "rooftop" that has plenty of contemporary looking chairs and beautiful plantings to enjoy. It overlooks the park and is a great way to enjoy nature and read at the same time! Our family visits the library at least once a week and we love it!

Yelp
Wow, the new updated main library is she's a beauty! There are so many events hosted here! There seems to always be a group to join of some sorts, a class to take to being up on your skills, or a story-time going on for little eager ears to enjoy. This library is truly an enjoyable experience and makes you want to visit it in all its majestic glory.

Yelp
I never knew this library existed for awhile but it's a really great resource for the community. They always have something going on there whether it be for adults, kids, of families. It's nicely kept and the staff is friendly. Very comfortable environment.

Yelp
Great library with great programs for the community. The customer service was wonderful and the library itself is impeccable.

Yelp
Beautiful library. Regards to the architects for the open plan, stunning sight lines. And to the men and women who got it paid for. A great bonus is that you can print up to twenty pages from the computers for free. Only four stars because a few of the staff people there are cuckoo. First time I went here, I commented to the woman at check-out, "I grew up here and I never thought Baton Rouge would have a library like this." She replies, indignantly, "Well, our taxes paid for it." I say, "Great, I'm glad." There's a sour apple Christiany pill around every corner in this town. Sheesh.

Yelp
Great library with ample amount of seating (outside and inside), computers, $2 of free printing per day (with library card) and multiple meeting rooms. There is free wifi that is high speed and the reference employees are very nice and helpful. You get free checkout with book for 3 weeks. They also have language books, audiobooks, DVDs, and thousands of various books. Well cleaned and very quiet. Note, if you have a child in HS they have a private section of he library for teens only and it is monitored through the day.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere! Plenty of desks and chairs with natural lighting here, which makes work a whole lot easier when you can be in a comfortable seat with a view. I get an insane amount of work done here. Helpful staff, clean bathrooms, outdoor seating with a fountain... I just wish they had a cafe!

it definitely becomes my favorite study + reading spot.

Yelp
This library has everything. It is brand new with lots of books. You should stop by and view it

Yelp
Som libraries are good. Others are better. This one is the best. All the library's are great in Baton Rouge. Did you know that we have over fourteen different libraries? It's crazy (and great!). The main library is the best. It was just built (early 2014). It is modern, clean, and huge! It has a great atmosphere. There are lots of valuable resources, like a genealogy department, with free Ancestry.com! If you want to know practically anything about how to use a computer, they got at covered. They helped a friend of mine get set up with Pinterest. This is a very impressive library. It is a nice place to go online. They have tables right next to a 100% glass wall on the 2nd floor. It is overlooking a big garden with lots of huge trees. There is a great staff, and they are all friendly. If you are ever near, at least drive by the library and take a look inside.

Yelp
I love this library! 3 stories, quiet room, cactus terrace, rent books, CDs, movies, ART, etc

Stephen P.

Yelp
This is the loudest library I've ever been to! People are on their phones speaking loudly as if they're working on a construction site, babies are crying, etc.

Jack X.

Yelp
This library is a decent one, although it definitely has a late 60s timestamp on it! There are "newer" libraries, some of which offer a better selection of books and resources, around Baton Rouge, so one should not judge the entire EBR Public Library system just on this library (or any other library) alone.
