"Ecco Zürich is a restaurant led by executive chef Stefan Heilemann, renowned for earning two MICHELIN stars in December 2015. The restaurant is known for its French-based, uncomplicated, product-focused, and Asian-inspired dishes. Signature dishes include buffalo tartare with poached oysters, radish foam and mustard; white asparagus and crayfish with peas, calamansi and hazelnut; and a dessert featuring rhubarb, coconut, ginger, and pandan. The restaurant is located within the Atlantis by Giardino hotel at the base of the Uetliberg mountain and offers a unique dining experience that Heilemann describes as 'a journey around the world.'" - Aaron Hutcherson

One of the best experiences I have had in Zürich! We went there for our anniversary and chose the “Surprise Menu”, which was composed of five courses plus dessert. You can choose the main course among fish, meat and vegi: we ordered the fish option, which was roasted turbot filled with lobster and it was simply amazing. Everything was perfect: every single dish was delicious, starting from the three small duck plates that we got as a pre-starter. Each course was slightly tastier than the previous one, making the entire menu delightful. The champagne, white wine and digestive were also quite good. The staff is very kind and always available to explain you every recipe. At the end of the dinner, the chef came to our table to greet us. The location is beautiful and cozy, the dining room has about 10 tables and every detail of the furniture is well thought. From a price perspective, considering the entire experience I would say we didn’t spend much more than in other restaurants in Zürich. Quality-price is totally worth it. Highly recommended!

Great fine dining experience. Course options 3-5-7-9 and drinks. Food and service was amazing. Located a bit outside Zurich centre but reachable easily by train.

A wonderful experience at the restaurant Ecco. The team was attentive to all our requests. When we booked our table, we mentioned that it was for a birthday and the Chef prepared an exclusive dessert for us. Definitely one of the best fine table in Zürich.

One of the nicest restaurants in Zurich. Great modern cuisine, open and friendly staff, lots of pre- and post- menu greetings from the kitchen.

From the very first bite to the last it was a travel through the finest flavor of the world. In each course we could experience the hands of Stefan’s team and a huge range of top quality ingredients. We will never forget our tuna belly.. This restaurant is a bit far from the Old Town Zurich and you have to take a taxi there. It’s modernly and airy decorated. There were limited dishes to formulate a 3 or 5 or 8 tasting menu of your choice. All the dishes we chose were outstandingly delicious with a big wine list to choose from. The service was very good. It was probably the best choice of this trip.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for dinner the one night while we were in Zurich and had a lovely evening. The service and food were outstanding and I am glad we were able to visit during our trip to Switzerland. The hotel itself is beautiful, so if you have time for a drink before dinner, I'd come and enjoy the outdoor terraces. They were able to easily adapt the menu to be gluten free for my husband and we both enjoyed everything very much, especially the caviar and truffles on a couple of the courses. We were also able to see the kitchen and meet the chef at the end which was very neat! Highly recommend coming here if you are in Zurich.

Yelp
Exceptional! Everything is just exceptional. Highly recommended for special celebration, or just any reason ( note: even better if you stay at the Atlantis Hotel where the restaurant is located. The hotel is also very nice) Everyone on staff seemed young in age but they were all top notch providing courteous, attentive and very knowledgeable service. The menu is focused with around 8 standard fares and an additional 'special' menu selection of around 5 additional items. The way to order is by selecting from the standard menu a choice of 3 courses, 5 courses, or 7 courses, and one can choose to order additional items from the special menu or to sub one of the courses from the standard. Prices are set per person per course selection, with surcharge for certain items. Pretty straight forward. In addition to the ordered meal, the chef offers a-muse bouche (little bites) of various complimentary dishes, including dessert for the guests so even with three courses, you would have tried so many other things. And even the simple potato bread with creamy butter is to die for. It was also a treat that we were offered to see the kitchen and got to meet the chef at the end of the meal! As we stayed at the Atlantis hotel where ECCO is located, we were even more pleasantly surprised by the chocolate truffles and chef's hand written note left in our room. It was truly a wonderful experience with a restaurant that offers classy, comfy ambiance, exceptional service and cuisine to die for! It's worth the 2 Michelin stars through and through and it will certainly bring me back even if I have to trek around the world from California to Zurich CH... it is already calling me back.
