Cook Steals $1,875 in Lobster from the Bellagio | Eater Vegas

"A second outpost of the butcher-and-steakhouse concept is planned inside The Sawyer with a patio overlooking the Golden 1 Center; it will feature an on-site butcher, serve breakfast and brunch with a coffee bar as well as lunch and dinner, and offer a 50–60 item dinner menu that includes seafood and vegan options when it opens at the end of the month." - Susan Stapleton

Google
Echo & Rig was actually a pretty decent restaurant to visit. I’m in town hanging out with some friends and they made this suggestion on a good place for a sit down meal. Totally worth it. As far as a stake restaurant in Sacramento, this was a good choice. They have a pretty decent selection of different kinds of meats, whether you’re looking for a ribeye, skirt, steak, salmon, or even swordfish; it’s a good selection. Every steak comes with a handful of potato chips. I decided to have a ribeye and it was cooked almost perfectly. Based on my tastes, it was a little under salted, but totally worth it. I also got the brussels sprouts as well as the mac & cheese, and was not disappointed. The atmosphere was dim and spacious. They’ve done a wonderful job at keeping it simple and clean. They have a decent selection of cocktails and mixed drinks. We were even able to watch part of the football game up on the TV while waiting for our seats at the bar. I was able to have a great conversation without feeling like others were overhearing it. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. The only critique I have was that my waiter was so busy he didn’t make it to our table as often as I think we needed him. But that’s understandable. If you’re looking for a really good place to eat downtown and your Jonesing for a steak, choose this place. You’ll be glad you did.

It’s pretty rare to find places that serve halal steak. We took our friend out for her birthday and I was pretty disappointed. Meat was undercooked and I couldn’t even finish it. I didn’t want to complain openly in courtesy of my friend’s birthday. Also what’s up with the lame sides. Stale chips and a sad mushroom? Maybe I don’t know fine dining food but the food was not worth what they’re charging. The only good thing we all enjoyed was the Mac n cheese. One of my friends had the chicken which was also dry. They do offer complimentary birthday dessert. Our server was sweet. Won’t be back though.

I took my wife here for her birthday dinner, this was our first time here and let me start by saying, if you come here... ask for Isa to be your server, she was amazing. Very well informed, gave great recommendations and was attentive but not pestering. Then came the food. We ordered the avocado humus, split a ceasar salad and each ordered the filet, blue cheese sauce (at Isa's recommendation). Topped it off with the hot coffee cake desert. The best meal we have had in a really long time. We will for sure be back.

This restaurant’s Sunday brunch menu and brunch are pretty good, but the slow service made the experience not so good. The food was good, not great. When we arrived, we had reservations (which we had to confirm twice in the week prior to our reservation date) but we were told to wait while they prepared our table for us. We waited 15 minutes before we were seated. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable, but the actual service was extremely slow. Our starters took 15-20 minutes to come out and our actual brunch came out about 45 minutes after that. Eggs, scrambles and toast were all room temperature, not warm and definitely not hot. The attached video shows how empty the restaurant was, so there wasn’t an excuse for slow service and cold food. Also there were four tables that had not been cleared when we walked in, which is really not inviting. We will not be returning to this restaurant and we’ll not recommend this Echo and Rig restaurant to anyone.

Google
We had an absolutely perfect evening at Echo and Rig. Even though we were running late, we were greeted graciously and sat quickly. The manager greeted us as soon as we were sat, and then the waiter introduced himself and consistently provided incredible service throughout the evening. The menu offered a lot of great choices, so we tried several items that were all delicious. They even brought out a small portion of the bacon for us to try. The cocktails were incredible, and the food was perfect. It is one of the best dining experiences we've ever had, and we will definitely be back. I have to say the exceptional staff made our experience at Echo and Rig a truly memorable experience.

Google
BDAY dinner for two was delicious with calm atmosphere. Unique menu with good choice of steaks and other food. Drinks from the bar are good as well. Quick and good service. They took care of the desert bcz of the special occasion. Short distance from the parking garage.

Google
The filet tenderloin was spectacular, what a great cut of meat and cooked perfectly. Also ordered the fingerling potatoes, cauliflower and gnocchi. We were offered the fried spinach salad as a surprise from the chef, which I enjoyed far more than I expected. The staff was friendly and attentive, couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Google
My server Sebastian was awesome food is good and came out fast. The reason for the 4 star overall is that I don't feel the restaurant is worth the high price tags. My Cap steak cost around $58. For that you get 8oz of steak with a plate full of potato chips and 1 single mushroom cap. If it was plated with two proper sides such as mash potatoes and brussels sprout as an example. I would feel better about the price. As a hotel restaurant, it's good your out of town nice place to grab food. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the quality is there for the food and service.

Yelp
What went well - service was amazing, seating and ambiance was comfortable and inviting, food was very well flavored and tasty. Love that there are vegetarian and seafood options, provides variety for those who don't eat meat. Delicious cocktails. Room for improvement - parking isn't the most convenient. Located inside of a downtown hotel. E&R does validate for 2 hours though which is nice or there's 10$ discounted valet but again this also only covers 2 hours. we ordered steak with a few side dishes. Our sides came out cold. Not even a hint of heat to it, it literally seemed like it had been sitting out for 30+ mins. Our waitress was very apologetic and heated everything up for us but i was surprised that that would happen at a restaurant this nice. Lastly no creamed spinach at a steakhouse is beyond diabolical !!

Yelp
We went for our anniversary, and the location didn't disappoint. From the door to our table, the entire staff was perfect. The menu offers an extensive selection of shareable appetizers. We ordered max and cheese, fried spinach salad, the crab cakes, and grilled thick-cut bacon, all of which were 10/10. For our mains, my wife ordered their Branzino, and I ordered the Duroc pork chop. I was really excited as I wanted to compare the flavors between Kurobuta pork and Duroc pork. My wife loved he fish, it's her new favorite. My pork chop came out underdone, they offered to remake it and brought out a new one, but honestly, it was done but overcooked. I finished it as well, you never waste protein, need those gains (lol) Here is why the rating was still a four: mistakes happen. Our waiter took care of it; he removed the app and the chop from the order as compensation for the trouble. The manager then brought the plate to our table and waited until I cut into it, and it was cooked thoroughly. 10/10 for the service and handling of this. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Overall? Really impressed. They delivered the full package, ambience, attentive service, and a menu with some standout highs. The space strikes a nice balance between elevated and approachable, and the experience felt thoughtfully curated from start to finish. I'd absolutely return for another round Parking? Valet available, street parking with various garage options We had: House Bread (5/5): Phenomenal. Crisp on the outside, light and fluffy inside, this bread was unexpectedly one of the best parts of the meal. Served with a lightly whipped butter that melted perfectly into each bite, it was dangerously good. Honestly, it could've been an entree on its own. I had to actively stop myself from going back for more Sweet Fire Cauliflower (5/5): Absolute standout. Perfectly crispy, with a texture that felt straight out of a Korean fried chicken joint. The sweet and spicy flavor was bold but balanced, coating each bite without making it soggy. Hands down the must order dish Fried Spinach (4/5): This dish had great potential and mostly delivered. The spinach was lightly fried and flavorful, with a nice savory base. The combo of red onion, cauliflower, and broccoli gave it some body, and the chile lime vinaigrette added a zippy, tangy brightness that kept it interesting. But what it really needed was more crunch. A little more texture would have taken this from good to amazing. Still, it's a creative, bold side that's worth a try Bone Marrow Carne Asada (2/5): This dish felt like it came from an entirely different kitchen, and not in a good way. The bone marrow was barely there, both in flavor and portion, and the generous heap of onions on top made it seem like they were trying to hide that fact. The carne asada itself was fine at best, underseasoned and forgettable. The bread it came with was serviceable, but I actually ended up using the house bread instead (which says a lot). Definitely the weak link of the night and an easy pass next time Zabuton (4.5/5): Tender, rich, and packed with deep beef flavor, this zabuton cut delivered. The marbling was spot on, and it melted beautifully with each bite. Just a touch more char or contrast would've made it perfect, but was still a top tier steak worth savoring

Yelp
Located in the DOCO plaza and connected to the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel is Echo & Rig. Been wanting to try this place for a while and since it's pretty pricey, wanted to wait for a special occasion to come. (They validate parking for 2 hours.) We made reservations online and arrived a little early. Didn't realize there was a Kings game the same day and the bar was busy, however the restaurant itself was okay and had plenty of seating available for dining in. The Ambiance: The front entrance doors were opened and stayed open because it was physically smoky (most likely from the kitchen in the back) and had a bbq like smell. Wasn't a fan of the smoke or smell but it is what it is. I feel bad for the employees if it's like that everyday. The service: We were seated in about 10 minutes. The hostesses were friendly. Our server was Jorge, he was nice. One of the Food runner's Jahee, was great (sorry if name was misspelled). I appreciate that the staff were great about refilling our water. The food: It was our first time here and we tried the: (Complimentary) Bread & whipped butter 10/10 Samosa cigars 6/10 Portobello mushroom fries 10/10 Burnt pork ends 8/10 Broccolini 7/10 Fingerling potatoes 6/10 Tomahawk 6/10 I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it didn't quite hit the mark for me. I was disappointed most in the tomahawk steak. The smallest size available was 50 oz and for a $155 steak, I thought it'd be the best steak I've her had. It was tough and chewy and the outside crust was burnt. The chips that come with it were good, they look like they're made in-house. The stars of the show were the bread & whipped butter (both were light and fluffy), the portobello mushroom fries (juicy mushrooms and perfectly fried), the burnt pork ends (fatty, tender, and perfectly cooked).

Yelp
Very good food. For being the only 2 people at the bar for a while, took a min to get a cocktail. Steak frites were $26 and always great. Cooked medium. NY egg sandwich ($14) comes with bacon which is fantastic! On a nice toasty bun. Fantastic! Lovely atmosphere for people watching.

Yelp
Dined here when in a business trip and staying at the Kimpton Sawyer. It was conveniently located inside the hotel and just off the lobby. It was busy but was still seated and able quickly. Drinks were ice cold and strong. I would have liked to enjoy my meal at the bar but it was packed. Ended up consuming everything at the dining area. The place is beautiful, clean and comfy. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again when in town. Thank you Echo and Rig for the experience.

Yelp
This was our 2nd time attempting to eat at Echo & Rig, first time the wait was too long but the 2nd time I made a reservation and got in! So on to the visit, we had a reservation at 6:30 and was sat at 6:30 which was great! The food, we loved the bread and the Caesar salad. The oyster were smaller the expected but the mignonette was delicious. I asked the waitress which steak she would suggest and she suggested filet tenderloin or the Spencer, I went with the Spencer it was cooked well but under seasoned. The chimichurri added a lot of flavor, the roasted garlic mash was good but also under salted. My husband got the swordfish and he enjoyed it. The restaurant is beautiful and the wait staff was really good. The manager even came over to welcome us since it was our first visit. I would go back again and try a different steak.

Yelp
My significant other and I made a reservation for 8:45pm on a Saturday night and we only waited for a few minutes to be seated! The interior was sleek and modern imo and it gave good vibes. i was seated facing towards the kitchen and i like the open kitchen concept, it's kind of fun to peek over once in a while to look! For appetizers we got the: - 1/2 Oysters: i honestly don't remember what the name of the oysters were, they were on the smaller side but veryyyyy fresh and veryyy goooood!! i also liked the small attention to detail they had because the lemon also had a covering so the seeds wouldn't fall out! - Burnt Pork Belly Ends: i thought the pork belly itself was good but the sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste so it wasn't my favorite - Mac and Cheese: We got this complimentary from our waiter which was soo sweet because we were debating on this and the pork belly ends and he said it complimented each other and he was right! it was sooo good and sooo cheesy and creamy and the breadcrumbs on the top helped give it a lil bit of texture! chefs kiss hehe I got the: - Ribeye Steak Sandwhich: first of all, the chips in the side were so addicting lol you can tell they were freshly made and i just loved the crunch. The sandwhich itself was also delicious, the steak was cooked well and i had some fatty parts (which are my fav) and the aoili complimented it very well. I would probably get it again LOL For drinks, I got the Hot Mess and my significant other got the Cucumber Cooler but with tequila added. Both were good and quite refreshing. Shout out to Isa for giving us recommendations on which drinks to get, she was very sweet and talked and took care of us a bit before she had to leave! Huge shoutout to Jorge for being such a sweet server! He came by and checked on us constantly to make sure everything was okay and made sure we didn't need anything. He gave us solid recommendations and gave us the mac and cheese and dessert on the house! Such an unexpected gesture that was very appreciated and made our date night feel so much more fun and special! THANK YOU JORGE!! I definitely recommend checking out this place when you're around the doco area, and there's also so much things nearby to check out too so perfect for a date night typa night :-)

Yelp
The Mrs. wanted to have a nice steak dinner date before seeing a movie at the DOCO. Upon walking in, did notice some of the booths have some massive tears and patched up with duct tape. Upon being seated, 3 people came up to us to ask us if it was our first time and we were also asked by the hostess who walked us to our table. Seemed excessive and shows lack of cohesion with the front of house. We ordered some cocktails, a gin city and a dress to empress. My wife liked her cocktail ok but quickly switched to wine. My gin city was not well balanced. It sat with 2 sips taken almost the entire service and no one asked me about it. We started with thick cut bacon, roasted broccolini, shrimp cocktail, fried spinach salad (I know, but someone recommended it), a bavette steak, and a ribeye cap steak. What I liked: cook of the steaks were on point. The thick cut bacon was solid. What was fine: The broccolini had a decent smoky quality to it. What needed help: The shrimp cocktail came with 3 shrimp for $18. Kind of a weird number for an item often shared between 2 people and certainly not a good value at $6 per shrimp. I don't like that they include zero weights for the steaks. Most great steakhouses will do this. What I hated: The sides that come with the steak are poorly executed and unnecessary. The potato chips were burnt and completely unseasoned. The stuffed mushrooms were dry and tasted of almost nothing (very underseasoned). So much prep and cost to have these sides just drag down the overall value/experience. They just became a nuisance that I had to eat around because there was no way I was gonna eat it all. The fried spinach salad was a greasy over-dressed mess. Would have never ordered this without a recommendation, but this thing isn't even a salad nor is it executed well. I see that this place wants to be upscale, but it's not. The front of house hasn't improved since they opened (2019??). The cocktails aren't great but they are just as expensive as anywhere else. The sides for the steak are a crime. Just leave them off! This still feels like a place that can't quite figure it out. Granted, Sac is kind of a terrible steak town so that has worked in favor of weaker steak experiences à la Echo and Rig, but I doubly this place has what it takes to truly last. I wouldn't come back at this point.

Yelp
WHY WE WENT HERE: - dinner THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - we parked in one of the parking garages off J St and walked over; we entered through the main entrance of Kimpton - we were greeted at the hotel entrance and asked if we were looking for Revival or Echo & Rig; we were then taken through the lobby entrance into Echo & Rig THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - once inside Echo & Rig, we saw that the seating is generous; booths, bar seating, and a semi private dining experience in the rear THE (DINNER) MENU: - small plates & vegetables - soups - chilled seafood - salads - sandwiches - from the butcher - bone-in cuts - sauces - signature burger & fries - seafood - entrees WHAT WE ORDERED: - Blueberry Bliss - Hibiscus Haze, - pineapple with casamigos - sweet fire cauliflower - roasted broccolini - samosa cigars - brussels sprout leaves, pistachio, lemon - bone marrow carne asada - bavette with chimichurri - zabuton with charred onion THE TASTE: - cocktails were good; on the strong side - all of the small plates & vegetables we ordered were stellar (if we were to dine here again, it would be strictly for this portion of the menu) - the steaks were underwhelming - chimichurri was disappointing - charred onion sauce was good - it was different seeing the steaks come with garlic chips and the mushroom Rockefeller; the garlic chips were made in-house and reminded me of Terra vegetable chips, but there were way more of those than the steak itself; the mushroom Rockefeller was very plain CUSTOMER SERVICE: - forgot the name of our server, but he was attentive but not overbearing

Yelp
Cool spot right next to the arena. The service was great and the restaurant has a great vibe. I got the ribeye steak and it was perfect. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. We had broccolini, garlic potatoes and cauliflower sides that were all delicious. This is a great place to eat well in a fine establishment.

Yelp
Right outside of the golden 1 center , the ambience was very elegant. Came to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday . They gave us a complimentary bread and butter. We also got a kale salad , that was really good! Very light and refreshing. We all ordered the Spencer cut that was served with chips and a stuffed mushroom Rockefeller . The Mac and cheese was good. The only thing I would complain, is that I did not like the chimichurri sauce they had. It lacked so much flavor and I only tasted the olive oil . Was very upset about that , gratefully our server was very calm and understanding and replaced it with the charred onion sauce. It was better , had more flavor than the chimichurri . Our bill overall was 186$ which was not bad at all ! For 3 with all the food we ordered Definitely worth coming back!

Yelp
Amazing... that's all I gotta say. The location is in a nice place.... The ambiance is great, dark and dimly lit... modern vibes... it isn't a traditional steakhouse and not over the top fancy, but the food was amazing. The salmon was perfectly crusted and tasted amazing, the brussel sprouts were so good too... but the stars...the Mac n cheese and the portobello mushroom fries.... probably some of the best things I ever had. I wanted to go back the next night for this meal again... but I had to leave Sac... anyway... this place is a must... the only thing, service was great but slow... it was a Monday night so not too worried about it... I'm definitely coming here every time I get to visit!

Yelp
Sadly not blown away by this place. Yes the service was great but the food was just okay for being a top rated steakhouse with multiple locations. Ended up getting a ribeye but the flavor wasn't even there. Had multiple items for dinner to share, but ended up getting a bite to eat on the way home. It seems like steakhouses will fill your eyes but not your stomach.

Yelp
After trying to find a good Steakhouse to celebrate a new job we settled on going to Echo and rig especially since I love their Las Vegas location and the steaks are amazing. Upon entering the restaurant on a Tuesday evening they asked if I had a reservation and because I did not it would be a wait even though the restaurant was mostly empty. We sat in the bar area and ordered drinks to wait on a table. During that time I quickly got on the app and made a reservation for the restaurant. I informed the serving staff and they came to seat me in 15 minutes after I closed up my tab at the bar. We were seated in the back and then it took an additional 15 to 20 minutes for our server to arrive. Overall me and my daughter were quite frustrated because we had been sitting for almost an hour without food or service at a restaurant that comes highly recommended. I brought my frustrations up with the waiter who quickly tried to change the atmosphere by allowing us to order quickly. Our waiter made sure that the salad was great and the rest of our drinks were done appropriately. I ordered a ribeye cooked to medium how well it came out well done. My daughter appreciated that her Burger was well done. Overall I was not satisfied with the quality of food although my waiter tried his best to make us extra comfortable and even brought out an extra dish because we were there for celebratory reason. I will probably go back just not to the Sacramento location.

Yelp
Ambiance decor nice modern, but too LOUD!!! That's the problem with new interior restaurante designs. Jorge great server, but had to wait for a while to find out they no longer had muscato. Food- 2 of the oysters were too fishy tasting. The fresh bread was good with the soft butter. First time dining on rib eye cap (who knew). Cut was small considering the cost. Taste was same as a regular rib eye cut, but with the rib eye cap there was a lot of fat which the server suggested I order it medium and not medium rare. The cut was overly over powered by the charred prep. Would O order again -No. Especially not for the price of such a small cut. There was a side dish of cauliflower and other veggies that was absolutely delicious and was probably better tasting the awful potatoe n/garlic chips(ugh).

Yelp
Another stellar dining experience in Sacramento. Echo & Rig offers a wide array of shareable plates and sides. We tried the Sweet Fire Cauliflower, Portobello Fries, Crab Cake, Roasted Winter Squash, and the Bibb Salad. Our favorites were the Bibb Salad and the Portobello Fries. For our main course, we chose the Zabuton steak, cooked to a perfect medium rare. All of their steaks are grilled over white oak, which gives the meat a distinctive smokiness and depth of flavor. I often find that steaks can be either over-seasoned or under-seasoned, but this one was spot on. They offer sauces on the side--we selected the charred onion and blue cheese--but the steak was so flavorful on its own that we didn't want to mask it. The service was first-rate. Managers stop by to greet every table, and our server was personable and very knowledgeable about the menu. All of the staff were professional and friendly. Portions are generous, so we ended up bringing home plenty of leftovers. Highly recommend

Yelp
service was great, it was a nice vibe for my birthday dinner with some friends. I think the cocktails were great and the steak was cooked well. I wouldn't say it was the most outstanding food, and the food did take a while to come out. Not sure if they did that on purpose at my visit. Overall not bad for a date night.

Yelp
This was my first time here and probably the last. We ate here with a party. Drinks were just ok. Not bad but not overly good either. Salads and bread were delicious. All of our streaks were chewy and we all ordered different cuts. Steaks also had no flavor or seasoning with the exception of some salt. Probably the worst steak I've had at a "high end" steak place. The steaks were served with homemade potato chips, with your choice of sauce for the steak. I had the red wine demi glaze which was thin like an au jus consistency, not think at all and not enough to flavor the steak. I was only able to flavor about 1/2 my steak. We ordered the mashed potatoes as a side dish, which were really good. The server was really nice but the service wasn't great. The server took our drink order, food order and that was it. Food and drinks were delivered by others. The server checked on us once during the entire meal to see if we wanted anymore drinks and then delivered the check. No offer of dessert, just here is the check. The overall look of the restaurant is very nice. The seats and table setting were comfortable and inviting. The restaurant very noisy with all of the tile, glass and concrete. The restaurant was a little over 1/2 full and we had a hard time hearing each other.

Yelp
I just so happen to be in the DOCO plaza on a beautiful Saturday and decided that I wanted to grab a bite to eat or should I say grab a bite to take out. My item of choice was their burger with fries one of the best burgers that I've had in a very long time it's like my favorite item to order when I've come to Echo and rig. While I was waiting at the bar, I was graciously greeted and served by Daniel. I feel bad that I don't have any pictures other than the drink that I had but let me tell you that their menu doesn't disappoint nor does their bar. The service is great that definitely accompanies the great ambience of this restaurant. When I have previously came to eat here before,I sit down and enjoy my meal. This is the only time that I think I'll ever do takeout because I like this place so much.

Yelp
We had a great experience! We were immediately greeted & seated for our reservation. We sat on the patio because it was a nice evening. We brought our own wine & our server put it in a decanter which was great. When it got too chilly to sit outdoors, he was kind enough to move us inside to a booth. We started with macaroni & cheese, amazing! Very creamy. I had the ribeye steak sandwich, it was delicious. My husband had the ribeye cap, wow! Perfectly cooked. We also had the mashed potatoes & cauliflower, both were great! They surprised my husband with a dessert for his birthday. He loved it! The food & service were exceptional. We highly recommend!

Yelp
my boyfriend & i have been here several times. we've never had a bad experience here. the workers are so kind & patient. big thank you to the server kim, who made my birthday so special & brought out a couple extra things for us to enjoy. she was also very patient with our party of 12. their service is phenomenal! we always get their skirt steak, & it never disappoints. it's flavorful, it's great alone but even better with sauce. so far, charred onion, chimichurri, & red wine has been our top favorites. we also always get a side of mac & cheese & brussel sprouts which are both so good!! the brussel sprouts come with a hint of lemon & some pistachio which compliments each other very well. i've had their fingerling potatoes & i do think it's better over the mash, & their fried calamari is so so good. not sure what the green sauce is but it keeps me ordering calamari everytime i go back. overall echo & rig is a 100/10 for me! definitely will continue to recommend to friends & family!

Yelp
This place was alright, but not a blow-your-socks-off great steakhouse. Located in the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel at DOCO, this place enjoys prime real estate right next to the arena, and makes it easy to find. Additionally, there's plenty of parking---especially on non-event nights at the arena. While you do have to pay, this establishment will validate your parking, and you get up to 2 hours free. When arriving, we were very promptly seated, but we did have a reservation. I'd suggest getting a reservation, as I've noticed they can get pretty busy. The staff was generally good, although at times it seemed that there were longer waits. You do get a generous portion of bread and butter, and along with that, we ordered a salad, our mains, and a side of mashed potatoes. The salad was good, and we really enjoyed eating that. The mains were interesting; I had seen in previous reviews that there are generous portions of chips served with it. The waiter said it was more of a garnish, but when the dish was actually served, there is quite a generous amount. The chips themselves were alright. The mushroom served alongside was nice, but wasn't too memorable. The steak itself was ok; I had asked for medium rare, but it was definitely closer to medium/medium-well. Overall, just an ok steak. My companion made a comment being surprised on the size of their steak being smaller than expected. You do get a selection of one of the sauces, and I was able to try both the charred onion and the chimichurri . The chimichurri wasn't the best version of it I've had; it lacked a punch that better chimichurri has. The charred onion was better, and I actually enjoyed it. For our sides of mashed potatoes, they were solid. It was a solid-sized portion. I really wished the supposed-to-be star of the night, the steak (I ordered a ribeye) was executed better.

Yelp
I came here for dinner and found a modern atmosphere with dim lighting for an intimate night. when the dinner starts out with butter so creamy it melts off the knife then you're in for a night of amazing food! The bread and the butter set the tone for how great this place is. Then the drinks came out and we were impressed yet again by how delicious the drinks were! The lemon drop was a perfectly blend of citrus and alcohol and the Paloma was even better with a perfect crisp! As appetizers we order half a dozen oysters and when I say after the first oyster I whispered wow in amazement at the creaminess that I wanted to tell our waiter Eric to bring me 5 dozen more cause I could have sat there and ate it all! I was impressed with the fact that the lemon had a small yellow covering to prevent the seeds from falling into the oysters and that's how you know attention to details is high on the list for them to make this place a five star fine dining establishment! For the entrees we ordered the New York strip and the ribeye. We were contemplating on mash potatoes as a side but decided to forgo it. To our pleasant surprise Eric our server brought mashed potatoes with our meals on the house. Ooohhh the meat, the cut of the meat the crispy chips the sauces everything was made to perfection! For sauces we chose the chimichuri and the branded mushroom. Both sauces were great however I felt the chimichuri could have had bit less oil was it was too much oil for me. The meat was perfectly cooked to a medium rare which allowed you to cut it easily. A shoutout again to Eric again because those mashed potatoes paired perfectly with the meal! The mashed potatoes were soft fluffy garlicy and creamy with the white cheddar! We got a special dessert of ice cream as we were celebrating a special day! I believe it was pecan ice cream with caramel and whipped cream and was a perfect way to end our meal. So everything was great but I was contemplating on taking a star off but after consideration I realized the issue that happened was most likely not in the staffs hands. The food was amazing and the place was clean but as we sat there in our booth it seemed to get hotter and hotter in the building towards the end of the meal. I felt that I was sweating and we had to step out to cool down, I mentioned it to our server Eric and another server that it was really hot. They agreed it was getting hot in the building and would look into it with management. Luckily it was towards the end of our meal and the ice cream helped. I'm not sure if it was getting stuffy due to it being busy or their AC system really went out but with such delicious food and such great service I felt that small mishaps shouldn't knock star out! Great job to your team and our server Eric for taking such great care of us!

Yelp
I've spent many birthdays and dinner here and finally found the time to post a review. It's classy and modern. As you walk in there is a beautiful bar where all the delicious drinks come from. The servers were helpful and friendly. We ordered a few appetizers, cocktails, and for our main dishes- 2 orders of the "Spencer". I was a little disappointed how small and overcooked the steaks were- we had to send it back. The beef tartare didn't taste as good as I hoped. Wasn't sure if it was prepared properly. Everything else was good and we still enjoyed our night. We also received a complimentary ice cream since we were celebrating a birthday.

Yelp
Sat at the bar on a Friday evening. The service was good. I wouldn't say it was amazing. There were 3 behind the bar and only one was very friendly and welcoming. The temperature in the restaurant was very hot and not comfortable, I made a comment to the hostess and she brushed it off like I was being dramatic, I was not. When you're paying for a steakhouse environment it should be comfortable to dine in and when a customer makes a comment about it I don't think it should be ignored or brushed off. But other than that the atmosphere was enjoyable, the energy of the restaurant was good. And the steak was really good. I got the charred onion sauce which was also very good. Overall it was an ok experience.

Yelp
Came here with seven others for a business dinner and left very full and mostly very happy. We kicked things off with cauliflower, bone marrow, and calamari, plus a side of mashed potatoes that were so good they could have been the main course. I ordered the Zabuton (aka Denver cut) medium rare with bearnaise on the side. Perfectly cooked, tender, and paired with homemade garlic potato chips I could snack on forever. The Rockefeller mushroom cap? Dry and forgettable...we don't need to talk about it again. Everyone else at the table raved about their steaks. Complimentary bread was fresh and fluffy, and my Pig and Lady cocktail (with tequila instead of vodka on our server Kim's suggestion) was light, tangy, and just sweet enough. Kim herself was the MVP -- friendly, spot-on recommendations, and all-around great energy. Ask for her if you can! Only ding: the pace was sloooow. Nearly three hours from start to finish, which felt extra long after a full day. Not a dealbreaker, but next time I'll ask for a quicker pace. Otherwise, great food, great drinks, and service worth coming back for!

Yelp
Exceptional experience for a special occasion! We celebrated our anniversary here and were thoroughly impressed. The service was truly outstanding--attentive, friendly, and made us feel special throughout the evening. The atmosphere was perfect for a celebration, and the food was just as memorable. Highly recommend this steakhouse for anyone looking for a quality dining experience, especially for special occasions!

Yelp
We came into Echo & Rig on a whim and what a delightful experience! I wanted to stop by somewhere for drinks while we were running some errands, we walked in and chose a 2 seater along the wall. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. We ordered drinks - hubby started with a beer and I started with Dress to Empress. We ordered a couple apps: broccolini and fingerling potatoes. Both were like outrageous, for such simple items it was really flavorful. Just so good. We ordered another round of drinks - hubby asked about the "New Fashioned" and it's made with brown butter infused bourbon! What??! He loved it. It made me wish I liked bourbon! I settled up with the Gin City and it was so light and refreshing. The whole place is a relaxed hip lounge and really just a nice place to take a break and get some delicious food and drinks! We'll be back for dinner soon!

Yelp
My boyfriend & I came for Valentine's Day & I was a bit underwhelmed I've heard good things about this restaurant so I was excited to try. The bread that came out was my favorite thing I ate that night. The calamari had good flavor but it was a pretty small portion. My boyfriend got a steak & he enjoyed it. I got the Mac & cheese & burnt ends The burnt ends had good flavor as well just a pretty small portion as well. Mac & cheese was just okay didn't have much flavor. The service was okay our waiter was nice but was not very attentive. The vibe inside is nice & it was nicely decorated for Valentine's Day!

Yelp
We enjoyed an excellent lunch here last Tuesday afternoon, July 1st. Food was delicious! I had the filet Mignon and my wife the roasted chicken sandwich. We shared a side of the Kennebec French fries. They have a fair selection of wines by the glass, though surprisingly few big reds. Service was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is pleasant.

Yelp
Excellent Steakhouse with a wide menu. Don't let the fact that it is in a nice hotel deter you. The food was excellent and the Service was 5 star. While the top dog Rib Eye is somewhat overpriced at $58.00 a la cart, everthing is on par with what one would expect. My Rib Eye sandwich at $20 was fantastic. I was a little suprised at the somewhat limited selection of Rums and Vodkas, but all was good. Park in the Sawyer garage (validated parking) or use the Valet option (which I did and was most appreciated with a mobilty impaired partner) again, validated. Worth a trip. I would rate 4.5 if possible.

Yelp
Delightful dinner downtown. Found this steakhouse nestled in the Golden 1 shopping area. It was triple digit weather when we arrived but quickly we were removed into a dark , quiet (and much cooler) vibe. It was right around 6p & The bar was lined with fresh off the clock downtown personnel. The tables were also filled. It was cranking but nonetheless, quiet. The staff is very attentive. Our water glasses never went half full which was a nice change in service. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu which helped us to make several decisions on how to fill out bellies. We started with the burrata appetizer. Not a fave as I didn't care for the sweet smoked chili marmalade or the toast. Our main was a porterhouse cooked to perfection and it was amazing & the sauces were to die for. We opted for sautéed spinach and Mac n cheese, which to date, is the best I've ever had. 9 cheeses tossed into this bad boy and it was amazing. Highly recommend Echo & Fig.

Yelp
Echo & Rig has a cool, modern vibe and friendly service. The pork belly burnt ends were delicious crispy and packed with flavor. Mac and cheese with bacon was creamy and yummy. The Spencer steak was so overcooked it had to be returned. Old fashioned was good, perfectly bittered. Worth a visit if you have never been.

Yelp
This is a love letter to Echo & Rig. I'm writing this while salivating over my leftovers from last night. Not to be dramatic, but every moment was fantastic. The hostess was friendly and able to get us a table pretty quickly. The bartender made the best dirty martini I've had in a while - and he even used castelvetrano olives! We ordered the cauliflower (crispy and tangy), mac and cheese (crispy onions on top omg!), and mashed potatoes (creamy) - all absolutely delicious. I had the New York Strip (medium rare) and it was perfection - flavorful and crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Still salivating. Paired it with a Malbec. The manager even stopped by to greet us, which was a nice touch. The cherry on top was our server, Sebastian! He was prompt, professional, warm & friendly. Ambiance was comfortable, up-scale but not stuffy. I wish I had photos, but I was clearly too enamored with the experience. In conclusion, this seems to be a really well-run restaurant. HIGHLY recommend! P.S. Please give Sebastian a kiss on the forehead or a free steak or something.

Yelp
Echo and Rig is an experience that everyone should have. The restaurant is located in the lovely Kempton Hotel. Reservations are recommended. I love how this upscale restaurant brings its own version of feeling like home in the best possible ways. It's a great place to have date night, brunch with friends, a meal before a King's basketball game, or just because. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I decided to order a burger with fries. Something I've been craving, especially with all my travels. There's a lot to be said for a really tasty burger, and this absolutely exceeded my expectations. The burger was made to perfection. Medium rare, melted cheese, and tasty crispy fries. Yes, I had champagne with my cheeseburger. Why? Why not! I'm extra like that, and the champagne was delicious as well. Service was top-notch. The staff is super friendly, and yet they provide a quiet space so that customers enjoy their meals. This is a great spot again for brunch, lunch, or dinner, and their menu while it doesn't have an enormous list of choices, the choices that they have are perfect.

Yelp
I came here for the first time for a friend's work lunch. It is connected to the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel lobby which is quite luxurious. They also share bathrooms with the lobby, which is a bit of a trek, but it worked. There was a group of about 15 of us and the rest of the restaurant was pretty empty, so we had premium service. Everything I tasted was pretty good, my only critiques: -A few of the main entrees don't come with sides - like the salmon (you have to add them on and pricing can add up) - the steaks and filet mignon come with house chips (which in my opinion was kind of a weird pairing) -they were out of mashed potatoes

Yelp
Food: I think this is a very average steakhouse, but, perhaps, good for what's in this area. I think I've been spoiled by my Chicago upbringing, so keep that in mind. I find the steaks to be on the leaner side, so that may add or detract from the review here depending on your preference. I've had the hanger, Spencer, ribeye, and Bavette cuts here. That being said, this could be a 4 star for the value. The steaks are in the $40-$55 range. That being said, they have a nice selection of beers. They have some nice signature and especially cocktails available to those that like those. I have feeling that Echo and Rig may be a better more for their non steak options. My later review will be more representative of that. I bring that up, because they have a pretty large menu and when I ask the host or waiter/waitress what they like here, they typically say non-steak options. Service: i've actually always found the bar service to be slow on average. The dine-in is pretty solid. It's generally pretty easy to make a reservation here especially same day, Ambiance: I would describe it as modern and chic. I think it definitely has a better vibe at night, when there's a darker vibe. To me, that's the vibe I like out of a steakhouse. That being said, it's a nice place for lunch or even drinks before the King's game. Very heavy masculine vibe to the decor. It is cool, but feels a little cheap, especially when it's very bright.

Yelp
I've come here both for brunch and dinner. It is a cool and swanky restaurant in the Kimpton hotel. They have nice decor and furniture. Personally I liked the Las Vegas original one better but food here was still delicious. We ordered the porterhouse which had come with all the sauces for us to try! My favoritas was the charred onion and brandied mushroom

Yelp
Very classy. Great service. Great food! I love that they have outdoor dining. Perfect place for date night, or if you want to grab a quick drink and appetizer before an event at The Golden 1 Center. I've never had a bad experience here.

Yelp
Echo & Rig is seriously one of my favorite spots. The steak cooked medium rare is the best in town. Calamari is crispy and delicious without being too heavy. The fruit salad is super fresh and refreshing. The ambiance is amazing. It's got that cool, upscale feel without being stuffy. Perfect place to start a fun night out since there's a lot going on around the area. Parking is easy with all the garages nearby. Always a win!

Yelp
Not. Just. For. Steak. We all know they are considered the premiere dining establishment in Sacramento, and famous for the incredible quality of their steak. I heard this from everyone when I moved here. What I DIDNT know is even on a pescatarian diet this was the best dinner we have had in Sacramento. We could have eaten vegetarian and done well here. Located in hip DOCO, it's a fun dinner destination, plenty of parking, lots to do after you eat. FOOD. The swordfish and branzino were excellent! Perfectly seasoned with solid portions - delicious! The appetizers, we had the avocado hummus with toast and the fried olives, were out of this world. The Bibb Salad was very good - I found the strong balsamic dressing with the radicchio to be a bit sharp, but offset by the sweet nuts and the blue cheese, it was excellent. Dessert was a fruity ice cream whipped cream butter cake delight. OMG Next time I have a short break downtown I'm going to the bar just for a drink and the fried olives. SERVICE. Top flight. From our hostess inquiring if it was a special occasion, to exemplary waitstaff, to the manager Matt, to the GM Shawn, everyone was super considerate and engaging. This place is run EXTREMELY well. The atmosphere is beautiful, upscale without being fussy. Lots of people there celebrating; just as many people there for a nice dinner out, equal parts dressy and casual. Nice bar scene, beautiful outdoor seating available. The big surprise? It was shockingly well priced. Go online and check out tonight's menu for yourself and you will see what I mean. Luxurious 5 star dining and quality for a 3-4 star price. Shocked us. This is 100% our go to dinner out spot moving forward. I don't even miss LA or NY food now!

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Sacramento. Everything was excellent. The restaurant is elegant and clean. The staff was very friendly and willing to go over the menu with us. Special shout out to Mark and Micah who took care of us. The food was excellent. Oysters were fresh, and the mushroom fries were delicious. You can never go wrong with the rib eye and it comes with chips. I love going here and looking forward to my next visit. Thanks Echo & Rig.

Yelp
My friend recommended this place to me; my bf and I decided to come for our anniversary. My favorite appetizer that we had were the portobello fries. The crunch on them & sauce for them was amazing. We also really loved our entrees- the short rib grilled cheese & ribeye. The entrees came with garlic chips and my first reaction was chips?? but I was so shocked that the chips are made in-house and super airy, crispy & flavorful. I also loved the sauces for our steak- we got a mushroom sauce and the charred onion sauce. The complimentary ice cream they gave us was also really good. The only thing that I wouldn't get again was the steak tartare, it was dry (surprisingly) and underwhelming. Aside from food, all of the servers and bussers were super friendly! The service was amazing. Note: you will have to find parking since it is downtown! We ended up parking in the underground garage, and it did cost $4 per hr.

Yelp
Great experience overall! The ambiance was upscale but still relaxed, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The steak was cooked beautifully and full of flavor. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars is the wait time for our food was a bit longer than expected. Still, totally worth trying -- I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I visited with a friend on a Sunday afternoon for cocktails. The hibiscus haze was delicious. It consisted of hibiscus infused tequila, lavender, lemon, and sparkling wine. The cocktail tasted like a tart, fruity, and fizzy beverage. I highly recommend this drink.
