I can't tell you how much I love Echo church I have been going for four years. I am so happy that I found the church. It really strengthened my relationship with God. I felt his love and presence ever time go to church. I never felt judge or less than by majority of people. The people are welcoming and loving. The church reaches out to the community and homeless people. They do not discriminate people based on race economic statues or you intellectual ability. Everybody welcome at Echo church nobody your background. They have a good amount of small groups attend and be apart of.

We’ve going here for years now. Good worship music, open to those who are debating God or new to Jesus and very friendly. Pastors are friendly, can relate to the audience and speak from the word. My kids of all age groups love going here.

Google
A super friendly church. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome whether that's through handy car parking, great coffee or the brilliant children's programme. The service is really accessible to people exploring faith as well as those who are more established. I loved meeting people from all around the world who regularly attended services.

Very welcoming church in every way. I’ve been attending on and off since 2018 but recently I decided to get more serious and get involved and they encourage people to come, join, volunteer and feel part of the community. I’ve been attending the Alpha group on Tuesdays and the sermons on Sundays and my experience has been great. Everyone I met has been extremely supportive :)

Had a awesome time here. The band was praising their best and the preaching was good too. The venue is big and for first timers you get a little gift too.

Cannot say enough good things about this church. Ive been regularly attending for the past few years and i love this church, the pastors, the staff and volunteers. It gives me so much joy whether it is attending service, serving in different ministries or leading a small group. Finding this church, growing closer to God and building community has been a dream come true! I look forward to keep coming back here, Echo like my second home ❤️

Brought 2 family members who, like me, don’t often attend church for Easter and it was wonderful. Thank you all so much for the AMAZING sermon and friendly greeters. This church goes all out. It inspired me to go all out in my personal life when I saw how they don’t leave anything to chance- Greeters, things for children to do, and spirit-led sermon with practical application and stories. Wonderful music that doesn’t drone on forever in the first part.

Google
It's one of my most favorite places to be. The people are fun, loving, inviting, and helpful. The word, the music, the classes for children, youth, men, women. There is something for everyone. Whether you're a non-believer and just curious or you've grown up in the church and just want to teach and/or share God's word. No need for awkwardness or being uncomfortable ... come as you are, grab a cup of coffee and find a seat. It's awesome!!!!

This is the best church that I have found. I love that I can attend live on YouTube or in person!

Yelp
Very welcoming church in every way. I've been attending on and off since 2018 but recently I decided to get more serious and get involved and they encourage people to come, join, volunteer and feel part of the community, which is amazing! Yelp
I love this church! I have been attending since 2018. One of the few churches that held afternoon services. Having to work on weekends, I decided to go after work. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Jesus is truly in the center of this church. I especially love how they truly love on our kids at this church! They hold a massive easter egg hunt every year, my kids make it a point to invite all their friends from school and everyone always has such a blast! I am also part of a womens group that meets on Tuesdays, it was birthed during the pandemic, and truly was the saving grace to stay connected to community and not isolated. We still meet now, and I appreciate how we can do life, and pray for one another. 1st Wednesdays aka encounter night is something I look forward to every month It is an awesome time filled with worship, and prayer. God has used this church to reach me during a low point in my life, and my kids lives have been changed as well. Five stars!!!

Yelp
A safe and loving place to explore faith and grow to know more about Jesus and how much he cares about all people.

Yelp
I pray for the leadership at this church. Poor things are just concerned about money and trips to Europe. I pray that they seek God and the real meaning of church. I pray that they make God the center of their lives. I pray that God can shape them into real leaders. May God bless you all.

Yelp
I feel the team leaders and campus pastures need to first of all be happy with confidence and spend tine with the community they serve to make real life changes on important issues like gender inequality, racism, endurances, to gravitate with those who fear the lord as well not just to make a difference in individual lives that are already seeking the lord; but making major reforms in social society accomplishing lasting friendships with that of the experienced professionals w/ the young professionals so that everyone's contribution can be explored, evaluated, and considered. Any app updates need for guidance should be mastered. I do say that Pastor Felipe Santos and his wife Mandy is an inspiring team and very much appreciated their daily efforts to reform a nation undergoing conflict in different zones and stating the purpose of a Protestant viewpoint always prioritizing to make amends with individuals who are struggling is very admirable. I dropped tears a few times in the auditorium over a few ppl who spoke openly about their commitment to Jesus and those that went on their knees on stage, it really made me realize how real it is to commit to the kingdom of God and I hope more ppl can stick it through for eternal life with God and to spread positivity and good energies for those who suffer in pain as well.

Yelp
Beautiful community. Passionate about Jesus. Great life groups to connect. We've been here for the last 9 years. It's our family.

Yelp
I wake up every Sunday looking forward to spending the morning at Echo Church North San Jose. I have been attending Echo Church for right around 3 years, and from the first moment I walked up to the church I felt very welcomed. Their Dream Team are amazing! Always there to say hello, welcome you, and guide you. Not to mention...they make the BEST coffee!! They have a wonderful worship team! Great music and singers. They have nice colorful lighting and a huge LED screen behind the band. It's always a powerful experience being in worship. The Pastors are very creative! The message series are always well thought out and structured and themed. They always make sure to cover and unpack messages straight from the Bible in an easy to understand way. They are also great at covering some tough topics, they don't shy away from having those discussions with us. I enjoy all of the pastors! All are great speakers and they deliver their messages in their own style. The church is very diverse. I truly do feel it's a place everyone is welcome without judgment. I love Echo's vision to have a thriving church 10 to 15 minutes from everyone in the Bay Area! And they are working to fulfill that with partnering with local churches and helping plant new ones and support their growth. They also have a fantastic media, audio visual, and marketing/design team! Their promo videos are always professionally done and their online church service is fantastic. If you want to get connected, you can always try out one of their many small groups. Sooo many options for every site location. If you haven't checked them out yet...give them a try! I truly believe you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The service on gender was very off base and misleading unfortunate. I had really high hopes and just wish they did a better job on educating the public.

Yelp
Very welcoming church! Everyone greets you with a smile when you walk in. I especially enjoy the time of worship, great worship team blessed with a variety of talents. Love the messages shared and there's plenty of opportunities to get involved. Love the diverse community!

Yelp
I'm glad you read the mandate as it appeared from our initial conversation that you hadn't yet. They key here is "limited duration" and "necessary". That would imply communion as one cannot partake without taking off their mask for a moment. But people can listen and pray and sing with masks on. Also as I witnessed and you told me and another person has reported, folks aren't wearing masks in the lobby (where food is served) nor in childcare nor is leadership. That is hardly leading nor encouraging mask wearing. This isn't about pleasing everyone, it is about following the laws of the land and following Christ's loving example of caring for one another.

Yelp
I not only attended this church for over a year, I was a leader. I left the church for numerous reasons. Rather than say anything regarding Echo church, I am attaching a photo of a flyer that was sent out by their leaders. I will let the picture speak for itself. Anyone who has a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be able to determine whether or not this church is for real by the flyer. So, so sad.

Melissa R.

Yelp
Worship songs are wonderful! They have life groups for you in anything to go through life together. Child care for all ages is provided during service and kids do worship and Bible study. Guest experience is amazing, people are so kind and welcoming! They make going to a new church so exciting!

Yelp
Our family started attending Echo two years ago. We knew right away that God was calling us to Echo. In the two years since all if our kids 19, 17, 16 & 12 have grown in their faith. Our oldest is now a missionary! We believe this is because of the impact Echo had on them. God has used this community to bless our kids so much! Echo is an outwardly-focused church, seeking to help people know Jesus intimately. If you're looking for a church with real people who really love Jesus, this is it!

Yelp
We found our local church family through Echo church. The church is led by leaders of integrity that truly walk the talk. The music is wonderful and the congregation is full of youthful energy. Our daughter was dedicated at Echo church and had a memorable celebration. Echo does a lot to serve the community and celebrate the congregation. Our experience at Echo is always joyful. We thank Echo church for the privilege to serve and to be part of a parent life group. God bless you, Echo Church family!

Yelp
It seems strange to me to be leaving a review for a church - generally, an experience does more justice than a review/explanation can provide. But I did want to put throw some perspective on here in case it could help anyone who is on the fence about exploring their faith. My husband and I began more actively attending Echo Church as they transitioned from "South Bay" to Echo. We both grew up Catholic and as we entered college, felt completely disconnected from faith. It always felt like rules and traditions mattered more than a deeper understanding and relationship with God. A few friends invited us here and we've received nothing but warmth and compassion from those who serve and attend. There was never a sense of pressure to stay or join groups, but a welcoming dynamic to explore more about God & our relationship with him. I once listened to a podcast talking about how to evaluate a church's pastor, and I can confidently say Pastor Andy passes with flying colors lol. While there are churches out there whose pastors flaunt material possessions, make grandiose statements, and stray from biblical truth, this church is far from those things. Pastor Andy and the entire staff are humble, have a growth mindset, and have a genuine heart to serve the community. There are plenty of service times (8:30am, 10am, 11:30am, 4pm, and 5:30pm) at the North SJ location, and they do provide live streaming & posted sermons on their site for convenience.

Yelp
I love it here! They always take care of you so well and everything is so well organized! This is the church I go to mostly in San Jose and parking is ample and there is coffee, tea, hot chocolate outside. I like how un-strict their approach is and how modern it is as well. The use of technology allows everyone to stay COVID safe while attending church!

Yelp
As a passionate person of Faith, I was looking for a church to call "home", in the South/East Bay Area, for many years. One with a cultivating experience of worship, message, community and culture. Never ceasing to "give up" on what I knew was awaiting me, I waited for God's direction. And did He ever direct me! On three separate occasions, from three different people, each encouraged me to visit #EchoChurch! Let me tell you, I've been living by my motto, "it's about progress, not perfection", and the very first message I heard from Pastor Andy, that God destined day, in which I was finally able to make it through those doors was just that - Progress Not Perfection! Echo.Church isn't a "typical" cookie cutter church in which people come (most after worship), listen to the pastor's message, don't tithe, leave and never give thought to serving or even taking the initiative of becoming a part of that community. This church, this anointed place my family and I now attend, serve and call home isn't "just a church" - it's a loving, caring, non-judgmental, progressive, relevant, welcoming and community/family-filled church, which thrives on welcoming those that have been denied by others and building up those whom already know and love Jesus! Be prepared to be noticed, shed tears while raising your arms during worship, feel the Holy Spirit electrifying the auditorium, being and staying connected through serving, connecting with others in their transition from not knowing or believing in God; through Alpha, building stronger community around you; in your choice of Life Groups, having your middle and/or high school students build upon their own understanding and relationship with Jesus through our Echo.Students Ministry, leaving your child/ren with "Echo.Kids", if you so chose, and listening to the message God has for each and every one of us, spoken through not only Pastor Andy and his amazing wife, but also the multitude of other pastors whom deliver the message we all need, in our own ways and walks with Jesus, at the moment we need to hear it the most! To feel and be loved is something we were all born to crave because God is Love and God definitely loves this church and this church definitely loves each and every one of us! Come as you are: broken, discouraged, lonely, curious, happy, single, married, divorced, suffering, addicted, in recovery, afraid, tormented, at peace, strong, weak and so on! Echo.Church is looking for those that need Jesus the most and keeping those that already have Him in our lives - as community leaders, family, friends and echoers of truth light and love. You'll never regret taking an hour of your time visiting us at Echo.Church, but you will forever regret not answering this call you've been subconsciously and spiritually yearning for - now that the invitation is here, extended to you... "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." ~Matthew 6:33

Yelp
regardless if you're Christian, Catholic, figuring out your next religious move, curious, or a nonbeliever - ECHO church is one of the few places where you will experience the reality of silicon valley, the importance of community, the feeling of not being alone, & of course, the word of the Lord. ECHO church has a great way of preaching the Bible & relating it to current topics of today's society. all the staff & pastors are kind & welcoming (: the main pastors are awesome, all relatable & funny! (i promise you will at least chuckle once during service). this church is also centrally located to coffee, grocery stores, restaurants, & of course, HomeGoods! hehe perfect place to start & continue your Sunday (:

Yelp
I've been here once, The pastor Andy was great. I really felt at home here. Actually I came here thinking it was a chapter of the house church but it was just called South Bay Church , A name so easy I am surprised no one else came up with it. It is a very warm unique feeling church. I felt filled with the spirit, I actually was hungry missing breakfast when I came here but I got filled , that's for sure. There was soo much wisdom and word filled in me when I came here. This place is definitely connected to the spirit. The singing here is amazing too.

Yelp
South Bay Church has been a great find for my bf and I. I have grown up Catholic, but I have gone to Christian church on and off for many years. It has been kind of tough/a struggle not to go to Catholic mass every Sunday with my family because that is what I have grown up doing (my entire family is Catholic), but I noticed how disconnected I felt at Catholic mass. I knew something was missing. I actually did not know about South Bay Church even though it is literally down the street from me. My bf found out about it and we decided to go try it out about two months ago. I have to admit, it was a little intense at first....loud music, lights, lasers.....it was a whole production.....BUT.....Pastor Andy delivered a great message. Even though it's been over two months, I still remember his message about "Framing Your Life." Pastor Andy delivers a simple, yet impactful message. I absolutely do not think you have to be Christian to come to South Bay because they are very accepting of everyone. I have been back almost every week since then and I really think that I have found a church that I can see myself continuing to go to. I take away something from the sermons every week and I look forward to what other messages are to come.

Yelp
In my search for a new church home, I decided to visit this church. I have a friend that attends here and suggested that I give it a shot. This church reminds me a lot of the churches where it's more of a casual place than it is a worship place. They have what a lot of the "modern" churches have; Coffee, tea, pastries etc. I've never really understood why churches have adapted to this. Is it to draw people in or is it really a part of the ministry? I've read lots of the reviews before attending and I see how many have written how they love the coffee and pastries etc. For me personally, I don't chose to attend church or a church because they serve starbucks or provide pastries. I chose a church based on the message it delivers, its Statement of Faith and if I can sense the spirit of the Lord in that dwelling. Church is different for everyone as it is the reasons why we believe or go to church. While I think all of this is nice, I feel the money can be spent helping missions and other needy areas of the community. Worship: The worship portion of attending church is very important to me. Worship to me is when I prepare my heart to listen to God's message. The songs should touch people's hearts and prepare them. The worship team should engage its church members in singing and worshiping. The worship here was more like a loud concert and while the songs were good, it wasn't songs that people can sing a long to, songs that engage and prepare people's hearts. The message afterwards was good as with any message I receive when attending church but it wasn't enough to make me say, "I love it here. This is my new home church!" I really wanted to like this church. I grew in Socal attending Calvary Chapel and Newport Christian Mesa church where I felt spiritually connected to the hymns and worship songs and the body of Christ that existed in those churches. I also attended the People's church while I lived in Fresno and then Abundant life church in mountain view when Pastor Paul Shepard was Sr pastor there. I believe that there is a church out there for everyone depending on the depth of relationship you want with Christ. I am looking for something deeper with less distractions. A place where it's all about Christ especially on Sunday when our main purpose is to be in worship with him. I'll keep looking until I find a home. To all who attend this church, God bless all of you and may he continue to bless all of you in ways only he can.

Yelp
Fun, welcoming church with lots of amenities. Definitely family friendly. They even have a room for families to enjoy the service together. Overall a great experience

Yelp
Welcoming environment with great teaching. Love the volunteer base and staff. Worship is lively and upbeat - a very healthy church where community is easy to get into

Yelp
I felt as if I was going to a show, like a concert. There was a large audience, all in the dark, all eyes are on the lighted performers on stage. The walls are decorated heavily with lights. Songs are difficult to sing along, so most people just observe. The announcements were pre-video recorded and felt like a commercial. Messages are simple for most people to relate, it seems to be geared for new seekers. The entire worship program is short, in and out, it is like going to see a show, very easy. I noticed the podium is custom made from lighting truss, which is part of the theme décor, the podium is placed on the side to hold water bottle and papers. The speaker does not stand behind it, thus giving a causal feel. I think this would be a great church for young people and new believers.

Yelp
South Bay Church has been such a blessing to me and family. We started going to this church when it first opened it doors at Don Callejon School in Santa Clara a newly develop community aka Rivermark Community. From here our lives has transformed for the better read on.... My family and I has grown with this church in a amazing way unexplainable. The leadership is an amazing group of people that moved out here from the East Coast with the vision of sharing Jesus and reaching the community. The lead pastor, Andy Wood, executive pastor Filipe Santos are truly an amazing, blessed humble men of Christ who teaches the word with the foundation that by God's grace and Jesus' blood we can receive life. Can't forget David and Archie they bring their invidual talents to this duo team as well. South Bay Church is a loving, caring, and community-oriented church that strives to rebuild and society that needs it. When you walk into the church, walk in feeling like you are there for God, and all of his people (us) We are the Church meaning South Bay Church can go and be anyway. Reading the Bible is a must if you can. However, If you can't or cannot afford one. I guarantee the church will gift first time visitors with one with no obligation. There is nothing in life that doesn't involve understanding, and we get that from reading, writing, or speaking. Loving God allows us to emit LOVE endlessly. Not believing in God, leaves us with limited love that dies do to various reasons (fighting/arguing, death, etc. = conditional love). This church teaches you that you are always developing, but wise decisions involve the match-up of God's will, with the judgment/free will He empowered us with, That's the greatest thing to realize. Just because we can, doesn't mean we should. Also here we don't judge people unlike other churches I been too. The church also has a thing in connecting people by Life Groups. Come check us out to find out. This is a place to come to be inspired to be a better friend, spouse, parent. This is a place to come to know Jesus. This is a place to come to know who you were intended to be, and who you are. Give it a try; you'll be amazed!!! Where else could you get this guidance? That's what makes South Bay Church so unique! Oh you also can come to church casually shorts, jeans flip flops etc. Unlike other churches I know they frown to this kind of thing..

Yelp
The pastors Andy and Felipe are very good. I don't recommend coming to this church alone because it's hard to connect with strangers. I always see couples coming to church together. If you're single, don't mind it. You're here to spend time with God, not your boyfriend or girlfriend. The service times are 8:30, 10, 11:30, 1pm and 5 pm. South bay church has lasers during worship. They emphasize the use of technology to bring people to Christ. Services are typically about 70 minutes. If you want to connect to the body of Christ, I suggest joining a life group because that's the only way you're going to get strangers to say more than a few perfunctory greetings to you.

Yelp
I came across this church via Google search last year when my friends and I were looking for a Christmas service to attend while hanging out in the south bay. You know, it's Christmas time - everyone feels obligated to go to church during this time even if you've shy'd away from it for years! ... Well, that was it for me. Ever since then, I drive myself about an hour each way to Santa Clara every Sunday (unless I'm out of town) so that I can hear the AWESOME messages from Andy (the lead pastor) & others. Their sincere messages speak right to your heart, without ever making you feel like you're at your parents' church which you have found always boring. This actually made me look FORWARD to waking up early each Sunday, and before I knew it, I was calling SBC my home :) Anyhoo - since this is Yelp after all (and not ilovesouthbaychurch . com), I won't bore you with too many details (although I'd be more than glad to share just exactly how great this place is if you'd like to hear more. Just ping me!). But I DO suggest that you give this place a try. Even if it's just for what my first intention was: to actually be not so lazy for a change and go to church cuz it's Christmas time. Trust me, it's good stuff! P.S. - Oh, did I mention the amazing band and delish & (more importantly) FREE coffee & breakfast pastries??

Yelp
My daughters and I hadn't been to church in about 4 years, we had been talking often that we wanted to discover a new church to start attending. Unfortunately, we chose this church to try out. We were all excited to hear what message was going to be taught to us. The people were friendly with greeting us in. The music was great. Then the speakers came out and everything went down hill from there. For being our first time here it was awful. The 2 speakers just spoke of how well they did with growing churches mission trips etc. asking the church to contribute. Bottom line : no message no sight of a bible. As being positive woman we promised we would keep our search going for what we are needing in our life.

Yelp
Our first visit was great. We felt a warmth that carried us throughout the day after leaving. Its a great family church. Yes -its a bit "dark" during service, but it calmed me and allowed me to focus on the Pastor's message. My boys enjoyed attending as well. My youngest gets excited when entering the children's service room. Extremely family friendly -casual, enjoyable, and welcoming. A few days after we attended, my husband and I both received a hand-written card by the Pastor along with a coffee gift card. Wow! We've never received anything like that - and we've been to quite a few congregations. I am extremely happy to have finally found a church that acts as a church should, and is so close to home.

Yelp
We actually attended the Sunnyvale campus but this partly pertains to the main campus. When we first went we were ignored as we came in. We sat in the cafe seating area and still were ignored. It took the second time going to even be acknowledged. We wanted to serve and I wasn't really given much of a choice. I was coming in early to make popcorn. I really wasn't included in the meetings or the such. We were not in a very good place financially but we're trying our best. Pastor Woods did a series called the blessed life. It can be seen on YouTube. The first part at 35:00 into it he asks you to take the challenge. He said that if you don't see any change you'd get your money back. Well after the third time of paying our tithe. We lost everything. Income was cut off and lost our place to stay. We waited the 90 days to see but still has not improved. We tried to contact and ask for our money back. And nothing. I am disappointed that I tried to have faith and listen to the pastor and things have fallen apart and yet no help. When you step away from the church no one even wants to talk to you. Instead of this church helping me they crippled me financially. Especially knowing now that my situation hasn't changed. Still pretty much homeless and drowning. It may not seem like much to most but the amount we gave could put us back in a little better standing. Take it for what you may just be cautious attending this church. Pray on it first.

Yelp
I always been going to a traditional catholic church ever since I was little. Recently I felt that I need to search something else that could bring me closer to God. I was envited by my neice several times but had my doubts. Well a year and a half a go I took her up on her offer. It was the best choice I made. The moment I walked in you feel the love and welcome. I love the sence of community. The pastor has a new teaching series each month and with that his sermons tie into the bible. They also have a lot of groups that you can sign up. Also if you want to be a part of what they call the "Dreamteam" you can do that as well. The worship band is also great. If you have kids they got you covered as well. You can drop off your kids while you enjoy the service. So grab your free coffee,or tea Yes free coffee. If your in the area during Sunday service. #Echochurch #Youarealwayswelcome

I was so happy to see that this church received such great reviews and also that it had so many services to chose from, I decided to try it out. I wanted to start with this and wonder why no one else mentioned it in their reviews... So... my huge dilemma with this church is this. I have an almost 12 year old son who is going in to the 7th grade. There was no "Sunday School" or an age/grade appropriate service for him, so he had to stay in the adult service with me. Now, there is a group on Tuesday nights, for kids from 6th-12th grade (huge variance), ...but Tuesday?? We are so busy with other things during the week, Im just not sure if Tuesday night is even an option, not to mention this group starts at 6:47pm and ends at 8:47pm. I want my son plugged in. I want him to learn more and more about God, and trust in God especially during this really impressionable time in his life. Im not sure if an adult sermon is what his mind and heart needs. Next, the service we attended was pre-recorded and shown on a huge video screen... I didnt like that. It may be the norm or it may not be... but I have never been to a church that did that. Sadly, I dont think this church will be our home church, although I would recommend for singles, or couples without older children. The live band was great.

Yelp
I was searching for a church that I could call home for a long time. I attended many different churches in the bay area but none of them felt quite "right". It wasn't necessarily due to the sermon or worship, just a feeling inside of me didn't feel comfortable. A friend then suggested I try out South Bay Church, and the first Sunday I went...I knew this church was right for me. One thing about South Bay that seems to stand out from the rest is that they are truly involved in the community around them. They help out every year at Santa Clara's Art & Wine Festival, and Santa Clara's 4th of July Festival, picking up trash, organizing kids events...truly bringing light into the darkness. If you're looking for a church, I highly recommend South Bay. Come to a service, eat the free pastries and drink the free coffee, and speak to one of the pastors after service at the hospitality booth. You won't regret it.

Yelp
My family started going to South Bay church a little more than a year ago. Lots of things to love about this place... My kids instantly clicked with the amazing volunteers at baykids, their child care ministry while adults are attending the services. As for me: I love the relaxed atmosphere and the upbeat music. I love the non-legalistic approach to everything such as choice of music, musical instruments, clothing, technology, etc... I love the practical message that challenges people every week to live passionately for Jesus. I love the way the leaders don't back down from difficult subjects that other churches would sidestep because it makes the congregation uneasy. I love how they use technology to the fullest with live steaming and integration with YouVersion Bible app, as well as all the latest in sound system technology to make the worship experience as best as it can be every week. I love the spirit of community that they encourage through life groups (small groups) within the church. I love seeing the church's commitment to serve the community through its many volunteer efforts at several community events throughout the year. This is a church that really has the anointing of God, and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 Silicon Valley can be all work all week long if we're not careful. We work from sun up to sun down just to make eek out a living here. A 40 hour work week is the minimum, and many of us put in more hours beyond 40 to ensure our continued survival. "I said, "Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest--" Psalm 55:6 Some days I come home so so exhausted. Its all I can do to throw my lifeless body on the couch and recoup my energy. My brain is spent and all I want to do is veg. By the time the weekend comes, I know I need to do something to recharge. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 Somehow, someway, I found myself at South Bay Church. I didn't know what awaited me there that first Sunday. But I found it. Whatever "it" is, it was there. "It" is different for everyone. For some, like me, its rest and respite from this busy world. For others, its a place for them to socialize and create community. And still, there are those who come because they're looking for something greater than they are. Whatever "it" is to you, come and see if "its" at South Bay Church. "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you." Isaiah 26:3 Yeah. Its something like that.

Yelp
This past weekend, I attended my 1st Sunday service at South Bay Church and I truly enjoyed my visit. Pastor Andy began his new series on Relationship Reboot: How to bring new life to our most important relationships. Great teaching and sharing time from Pastor Andy as I sat and soaked in the anointed message. I had the opportunity to witness several people getting baptized during service and I couldn't hold back my tears. It wasn't by accident that I decided to attend South Bay Church on a rainy day. The message really hit home! Thank you Pastor Andy!! It was a pleasure meeting you in-person.

Yelp
I actually started going to this church after reading Lindsey's review on Yelp a few months ago! Thanks, Girlie!! Long story short, I was engaged and was sort of expected to change my religion. I felt lost, and troubled as I felt I should have a relationship with God on my own accords. I attended a church that my fiance's family went to but it didn't feel right. It felt forced. I turned to Yelp and found this AWESOME church. I've laughed, cried, and more importantly, found a relationship with God through Pastor Andy and Felipe's messages. I went here by myself the first time and felt so welcomed by the greeters, the people I was sitting by and of course, the Pastors. I am excited to attend church on Sundays now and it should be that way! Now, my husband and I are regulars here. I am grateful to be part of this wonderful community and I invite you to join us! The Pastors are totally approachable. Last but not least, a HUGE thank you to Pastor Archie, who was been very supportive by helping my husband and I through our pre-marriage counseling. He is also very talented and leads the amazing band! Hope to see you there!

Yelp
I have been regularly attending South Bay Church for well over a year now and am floored when I think about what a positive influence it has been in my life. The message series are accessible to people from any walk of life - you don't have to be a Christian to leave with immediate actionable item for improving your daily life. The music is moving and one of my favorite parts of the service. Yes it's loud, but in a way that makes you want to get up and tap your foot, sing along and smile a bit more widely. Bay Kids is one of its strongest points. Moms of children as young as 6-weeks old can come to church and have a safe place to entrust their kids while they take in the message series. There is a mix of play and structured activities for even the toddlers. The children's staff all have background checks ran on them and if there is ever any sort of problems (like if your child is hungry or too unhappy in a new environment) you are called from the service discreetly. Additionally, the church makes a huge impact in their local community. One day a year they host a "Beautiful Day" where morning services are canceled and instead they entire church goes out into the community to volunteer together. This year one of their projects was to beautify a local elementary school. This is a place to come to be inspired to be a better friend, spouse, parent. This is a place to come to know Jesus. This is a place to come to know who you were intended to be, and who you are. Give it a try; you'll smile.

Yelp
The church services and messages are excellent. It is very important for me to attend a church that is not judgmental and South Bay is NOT judgmental, but very welcoming. Pastor Andy and Pastor Felipe always have interesting antidotes to go with their messages. They show that they make mistakes and are not perfect, which in turn, helps build a level of trust that helps me get through what I experience in life. I have been attending the church for a little over a year and can say that 99% of the messages are applicable to my life in some way. I have visited several other churches in the Bay Area, but this one great for me (friendly community, technologically savvy)! Your relationship with God will grow through the real life examples that South Bay uses the Bible to teach.

Yelp
Love this church. You can actually relate to Pastor Andy and he got jokes. I'm so glad it's not all about giving money and give money so we can pray for you kind of church.

Yelp
I really love this church. I had been getting cards in the mail for months advertising the church and have always wanted to check it out. But life was too busy for me. And the times I wasn't busy, I was a bit hesitant to attend. I didn't want to go to a church that preaches God loves everyone except for............... and begins to list people that God doesn't love in THEIR opinion. Easter 2010 was the first service I attended. And I have been attending ever since. The service was incredible and the pastors/staff are amazing people. Lead Pastor Andy Wood's sermons are educational, light hearted and entertaining. They are a non-denominational church which I love. They aren't pushy with religion like most churches are and truly welcome people from ALL walks of life . They simply just want to share God's word. I always leave the services feeling wonderful. What I also love about this church is the music. They don't have the standard church choir, but a band. And the music is amazing. Very uplifting and modern. The lead singer, Archie, is also one of the pastors. I think having the band verses a choir is more appealing to teens and young adults who find church otherwise boring. I know my teenage daughter really enjoys the music and the church as well. She willing attends with me every Sunday. As a previous reviewer said, after my first time attending, I received a thank you letter in the mail with a coffee card for Peet's. I also received a phone call from Pastor Andy welcoming me to the church, telling me if I had any questions or ever needed anything to not hesitate to call him. In subsequent weeks, I received welcome phone calls from Assistant Pastor Felipe and Associate Pastor Archie. I really am grateful for South Bay Church. I look forward to attending church every week.

Yelp
Couldn't feel any more welcome. My boyfriend and I live across the street and have been meaning to come by and check this church out. Easter Sunday we finally made it out and were pleasantly surprised. Everyone was super friendly, welcoming and genuine. They offer free beverages and breakfast at every service..9, 10:15 & 11:30 am. For first timers they give out a free gift, resources and a bible if you don't have one. They were super nice and sent us a thank you card after coming with a Peet's Giftcard. The free stuff isn't what will keep me coming back but ultimately the interesting and engaging sermons that you can tell they put forth a lot of effort for. Can't wait to go next Sunday!

Yelp
I was "sold", for lack of a better word, on South Bay Church from the moment my cousin took me here a few Sundays ago. I was inspired by the message series titled "BOLD" that was being taught, so I decided to take my best friend here yesterday and she too loved it! I can't get over the energy I feel when I walk into the church and I'm floored by the helpfulness of the volunteer staff. I am excited to learn more and to possibly join a Life Group this fall. The current series is "Relationship Rehab" and I strongly encourage people to attend any of the four services they hold (9:00am, 10:20am, 11:40am, 1:00pm) because Pastor Andy's messages are truly relevant and inspiring. I can't forget the Music Ministry, which is supremely talented!

Yelp
Amazing place to worship. Andy, and the other pastors really know how to dig deep into scripture and connect it to our everyday lives.

Yelp
I love this church. I love this church. I love this church. Did I mention that I love this church? After living in the South Bay for a few years now and attending several different churches, I finally found one to call "home." How did I discover this church? YELP. Yes, thank you Yelpers for reviewing this awesome place and linking the page to the church's website so that I could check it out. The intro video on the churches website was helpful because I was able to get a sneak peek at the two lead pastors give a little background on the church. I could tell right away they were easy going and pretty funny. I was right. My first time at the church, I was surprised to find it at an elementary school site. I quickly learned that the church has only been established in the last few years and were in the process of obtaining a location for a permanent facility. In the last few months, the good news was announced that a building site was found and construction was commencing immediately for a permanent facility. So next week it's moving! Anyhow, back to the church. The worship service was great because the band is so lively and it reminds me of my home church a lot. The crowd is diverse in age and ethnicity, which I absolutely love. Lead Pastor Andy Wood is hilarious. His anecdotes are honest, real, and funny. He does an amazing job analogizing his stories to the Bible. I've loved every sermons he has given. He's only in his early 30s (from what I gather of what he's revealed during his sermons) but don't let his age fool you, he's wise beyond his years. Check it out if you haven't found a place to call "home" yet. Am so thankful to have discovered this gem of a church.

Yelp
I started attending South Bay Church in April 2009. It was during a time in my life when I really needed to reconnect with God. I was brought up in a Catholic home and attended a Catholic church but I never felt quite at home at that church. There was always something missing. I will never forget the first service that I attended on that life-changing Sunday in April. Pastor Andy's message really moved me; I felt like he was talking to me. I was moved to tears because he had given me so much hope. I knew right then and there that I had found my church. Many things have happened in my life since that day. Some good, some bad. Through it all, Pastors Andy, Filipe, David and Renan and the entire staff have always been so supportive and encouraging. I love them and this church whole-heartedly.

Yelp
I love this church! I had been searching for a new church since moving to Santa Clara in 2007 and I just never fit in at any of them I visited. Fortunately, in the fall of 2008 I started getting mail fliers for South Bay Church. I went to their bowling event and met two of the pastors' wives and they were so welcoming and sweet. I started attending their preview services as well as their launch team meetings. The pastors are young and really aware of the issues of the society today. They are passionate and love to help the Santa Clara community. Everyone is approachable and you can tell that they love to be there. God is truly moving mountains through this church and they have grown so much ever since their launch in February 2009. I absolutely love being a part of this church!
