Eckert

We went there the first time in quite some time. Both had the full menu + wine journey (pick it if you get the chance, it really lifts the whole evening to another experience). All the courses were delicious and came with perfectly selected wine (and in one case Sherry). Service was spot on, for me exactly the amount of attentivness to the guest. So, we'll be back for sure.

The Restaurant is very expensive for the experience. Basically Swiss prices. Also a Rivera del Duero cost minimum 150€ and Up! Food quality is high. Creativity is ok. ROI = so so.

We had a fabulous stay at The Eckert. Our room was fabulous, lovely and clean. We were near to the little pool, which I would have loved to have had time to use as it looked great. There was a lovely garden area to relax in, too. All the staff here were lovely and made us very welcome. The breakfast is very tasty with lots of choice. You can get to anywhere using The Eckert as a base because the local transport is excellent, so France, Switzerland and Germany all on your doorstep. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Excellent value for money upscale dining option within a 15-minute drive from Basel city center. Awaiting the summer to try the beautiful Terrasse

Our third time here and now are go to en-route from England to Italy. The owner and staff are very helpful. We had the most fabulous meal. The service is excellent and the quality of produce first class. They made sure I could charge my car. Our room was a little warm but we could have got out of bed to open a window! Very clean and comfortable. Nespresso available in entrance.

Hotel Das Eckert, breakfast was very good, this was expected as they also have a fine dining restaurant integrated into the hotel. Unfortunately they had an outside catering and dinner was not available. We booked the room because of the restaurant. Approx. 7 km from Basel. We ate at the old town in Basel which was lovely. Room pictures were a bit more promising then the room itself but still better than the average.

Stayed one night on a stopover from Italy. Our room was very nice, with free extra bed for our daughter and swimming pool as a fun extra. Breakfast very good. Price for room and breakfast was reasonable. Restaurant was absolutely fantastic. Very professional staff and the food was great. Michelin star is very much deserved. Great service for our 6-year old too. Thumbs up.

Check-in is at the desk inside the restaurant. The staff were all so kind!||There are several buildings to the hotel. Our building had four steps to get inside and to the lift. The lift was small and old, but fast!||Our room was large and nicely appointed. Unfortunately, there was no air conditioning in our building (the new building has), but there was a small fan, which helped. The bed was rather firm and not so comfortable and had a scratchy bottom sheet, but had non-feather pillow options--great for allergy sufferers! There were power outlets on each side of the bed--excellent for two people to charge phones & devices at bedside. The room had a minibar, electric kettle, and a safe in the closet.||The bathroom was a small but adequate, and had a shower/tub combo with no mold--good job, housekeeping! The shower water pressure was good and the hot water stayed hot. There was a hairdryer, and a wall-mounted magnifying mirror, which is a great touch!||The free WiFi worked well. The hotel has some free parking spaces on-site, but they filled up quickly. Regardless of the few issues, I would definitely stay here again.|
