This is my go to place for next level chocolates that are guaranteed to make my wife smile. Anything made with this much care and attention is worth the splurge so go for it and venture out to try all that they offer. Eclat will not disappoint and your taste buds will thank you.

SerpAPI
Delicious treat. The staff was very helpful in helping me pick out chocolates. Good prices for such high quality products. Especially the hot chocolate which was so rich and creamy.

SerpAPI
Excellent chocolatier! Always fabulous and enjoyed beyond words. This is our first choice when ordering throughout the year for our website and our display in a Victor, NY studio.

Cassandra Sheller

SerpAPI
The best chocolate in the world! Can't wait for it to be a bit cooler so I can have some of their amazing hot chocolate and homemade marshmallows. 100/10 every time!

My husband kindly brought me home chocolate from Eclat after I may or may not have begged him to bring me home chocolate, any chocolate, from anywhere. I am a dark chocolate lover. He brought me (3) of their bars. Wow. Huge fan. Very complex chocolate with wonderful textures. The quality of the beans is on point. The packaging is very premium and it came in a lovely gift bag. Highly recommend.

SerpAPI
A very good premium chocolate company. Their bars are excellent, especially coffee and cardamom as well as the dark chocolate pretzel one. Reasonably priced too. The single origin bar is excellent as well. Have had a variety of their other chocolate products which are also good. Truffles are some of the best I have ever had. I was extremely disappointed with the pate de fruits, however, which we tried for Christmas this year. Fairly expensive (45 dollars) with just mild fruit flavors and just overall very unimpressive. Not that they were bad, they just weren't very good. Disappointed in that but overall happy with their chocolate products.

SerpAPI
Absolutely the best chocolates I’ve have had the pleasure to eat! Chris is incredibly knowledgeable and still had time to walk me through my purchase. Do yourself a favor and stop into the shop and check it out….if you love chocolate, you’ll thank me later!

SerpAPI
Picked up their coffee+cardamom chocolate bar from Suraya in Philly and absolutely love it. Their chocolate is amazing! Flavorful without being overly sweet.

Joe G.

Yelp
Best chocolate so it's worth the trip. Very clean and the people are helpful. Good selection of different types for different tastes; I personally like the Ancho Chile. They source the best ingredients both locally and when necessary worldwide. Tony Bourdain loved them, and I do too.

Mike C.

Yelp
High quality chocolate, knowledgeable staff. Great selection of chocolate and free samples.

Karen H.

Yelp
The chocolates are amazing! High quality and a great selection! The service was excellent. Great explanations of the variety in the store. The store was spotless and the chocolates are all visible!

Payal P.

Yelp
Looking for a good chocolate place? Look no further than Eclat Chocolate. They offer a variety of different types of chocolate.

Alison V.

Yelp
I stopped by this beautiful small chocolate boutique after seeing their chocolate featured in a dessert at the restaurant within the hotel I was staying at. I am gluten-free and purchased the following chocolates made without gluten: -Eclat Reserve Blend Mendiants -Desert Rose Chocolate Bar -Reu Caramelized Hazelnut Bar -Zuta & Orange Bar -La Colombe Morning Break Bar Everything was wonderful, the mendiants were my absolute favorite. My husband, a big coffeee drinker, adored the La Colombe bar.

Yelp
I've been a big fan of Eclat for sometime now. My first interaction was by being impressed by the wrapper at a Whole Foods. Bought a chocolate bar and was hooked. The CUZ toasted corn is one of my absolute favorite treats. I've never been to their physical location though and technically, I still haven't. With my anniversary just passing over Memorial Day and a lot of the food options I was looking for had ribs, I decided to cook for my wife. This is not a special treat at all, since I probably cook dinner 330 nights out of the year. The rest of the nights, we're trusting you yelpers to point us somewhere good... trying to support local businesses, I decided to place a pick-up order from Eclat. I placed my order and a day or so later received a call to finalize my order and arrange a pickup time. At my pickup time, I opened the door to Eclat, and my bag was right there with my name on it. I think three workers were in the store, giving me a friendly hello. I was off, back into my car, and on my way to the next destination. For a great, I went with Peruvian truffles. Such amazing flavor, by far the best truffle I've ever eaten. I also went with an assortment of mondiants, unique to Eclat. It's their take in a mendiant, but instead of toppings on the outside, the flavors are hidden inside. By far amazing flavors too. You can't just pop this in your mouth. You need to savor each bite. Appreciate each part of your mouth as you chew. Although I've never been in the store, I have sent over a dozen people there. When I'm asked for a good gift for someone who won't accept cash for a favor, I say Eclat. When someone wants to say thank you, Eclat. When you messed up and need something really special, the largest box of Eclat you can find. It truly is artwork.

James T.

Yelp
At first I was hesitant to pay $5 for a small hot chocolate but wow, was it worth it. Their chocolate really is a cut above the rest in terms of flavor and richness. Take advantage of having a master chocolatier in the area and try this place out.

Meghan C.

Yelp
Went there with friends. Wonderful staff that was very helpful and accommodating to me being dairy free. Everything was delicious. Definitely on the pricey side, though!

Daria D.

Yelp
My dad and I sampled chocolate from Éclat at their vendor booth at the Philadelphia Flower Show. There we bought 2 bars and an Easter egg set. The chocolate is so delicious and creamy! Our purchase came with a promo code to use for a future online order so I then purchased another set of the Easter chocolates as well as 2 Wine Lovers chocolate boxes. The chocolate box sets have a short expiration date, as they are very fresh and should be eaten within a few weeks (a note on the box says they are preservative-free). The price is a bit high but you definitely taste the high quality of the chocolates. Also, shipping was extremely quick!

Julie T.

Yelp
Bought assorted small box(they are pricey ) as a gift and 2 pieces for my ride home. They ARE TO DIE FOR! Plan on treating myself to a box. Employee was kind and nice. You have to try this place. Parking a problem, but loading zone right out front if you feel lucky. Please support their business.

Yuki F.

Yelp
AMAZING chocolate! The truffles, caramels and chocolates from here is highly sophisticated, well-balanced, and delicate. The dark chocolate bar/bites with cacao crunch was exceptional, and the chocolate piece such as bourbon pecan and passion fruit was absolutely stunning. It's nice to pair with single molt, red wine or a cup of coffee. It was a pleasure surprise to find a chocolatier like this because most of the chocolate topically found is overly sweet, not tasting cacao but sugar and other mixtures. This place has became one my favorite among the accessible quality chocolatiers in PA, NJ, and NY areas.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Éclat has amazing chocolates! I've gifted and been gifted many of their chocolate creations in the past. A friend and I were at lunch in west Chester and decided to stop by for an after lunch chocolate. We walked in and a man( I believe was the owner) and a woman were standing behind the counter at different ends talking to a woman. It seemed like they knew her personally. It didn't seem like she was a customer. They have a small retail space but neither people working there acknowledged us, they just kept talking. I eventually said hello to them and then they finally looked at us. The owner never spoke to us. I was looking at stuff on a wall and he actually walked in front of me so I had to move back to make room for him to get through, he could have gone behind me, but never said excuse me. The associate was nice but the owner made us feel not very welcomed. West chester has many places to feed a sweet tooth. We chose to go somewhere else.

Kimberly J.

Yelp
Walking around Dean & DeLuca in SoHo, we came across the chocolate section and decided to try the Good & Evil Chocolate Bar by Christopher Curtin, Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert. The chocolate was smooth, bold, bitter and packed with cacao nibs. A lot of attention was put into the packaging. First thing we noticed was how light and thin this chocolate bar was compared to other dark chocolate bars we have tasted. Though it was thinner, the flavors were still all there. So what's so good about this bar? It has a clean and rich chocolate flavor. Die hard chocolate lovers will enjoy themselves. What's evil about this bar? The price! A bar will set you back $18. I appreciate the flavor of these rare Peruvian cacao beans, but do you guys really have to charge that much for this bar? Regardless, I'm glad we got to try it.

Rusty R.

Yelp
Really disappointed in the chocolate bar I had. It was Peruvian Milk Chocolate with Cacao Nibs, made to benefit City Harvest NYC. I'm just glad my money went to City Harvest, that's the only consolation I have. Perhaps it is because it was milk chocolate, and perhaps it was because (according to the ingredients) there is so much added to this product, but the inherent flavor of the cacao is almost indistinguishable. The fact that this is from Peru and should taste unique is lost. The nibs were nice, but didn't make up for it. It was, however, creamy, I will give them a star for that. I'd be reluctant to buy this brand again. I'd be curious to see if they have any purer chocolates, though. (not so much "stuff" added in so that the flavor is purer)

Vanessa P.

Yelp
Yum, we truly enjoyed sampling these delectable chocolates! The owner is an interesting gentleman who has been on Anthony Bourdain's shows. He definitely loves what he can create with chocolate!

Sarah P.

Yelp
The. Best. Hot. Chocolate. Ever. Get an 8 ounce cup from Jennifer, the production manager. Drink. Feel euphoric. Repeat as needed. Lots of samples, too. Just go there.

Michelle H.

Yelp
Every chocolate I have bought from there has been delicious. Truly superior chocolate. My favorite local gift to give - or receive! I especially enjoy their spice bars.

Margaret F.

Yelp
Whether you are looking for some of the finest chocolates available, trying to introduce someone to a new level of flavor, or looking to send a special gift, then look no further than Eclat. Everyone I know who has tried these chocolates has been blown away by the purity of flavor! Treat yourself or make an impression. Either way, you will not be disappointed! The staff is wonderful and always delivers exceptional service. And on another note, if you are a baker then try the cocoa powder in your desserts. There will be no going back...

Griffith R.

Yelp
WOW. Had the pleasure of trying Éclat Chocolate at a recent charity event in Philly that's special to me, ACHIEVEability's Food for Thought. Éclat Chocolate's lead team donated their Saturday night and hundreds of chocolates in support of the non-profit. Their chocolate was exquisite and I would absolutely recommend it to any and all sweets lovers. I will absolutely be returning for my sweets kick in the future.

Courtney C.

Yelp
As a rule, I do not have a sweet tooth, but I received a collection of Eclat Chocolates today. They were exquisite.! A collection of 20 bite sized confections. My favorites were the milk caramel, smooth and satiny, and the lavender ...delicate and flowery. So many different, tasty flavors. Single Malt Whiskey, Champagne, Dark Caramel, Gingerbread Ganache.....each a delicious burst of well crafted flavor....!!

Bruce M.

Yelp
Some of the finest chocolate I have ever tasted. Flavors are innovative (single malt whisky truffle, pear caramel) and varied enough for all tastes. The single origin bars are uniquely good. Chris Curtain is indeed a master chocolatier!

Kate C.

Yelp
Although I am an equal opportunist when it comes to candy, the secret food snob inside me looooves fancy high-end dark chocolate. I am lucky, then, that I can get my fancypants chocolate fix at a local shop (my inner food snob also likes locally made items). No less an authority than Vogue Magazine (!) has proclaimed Eclat chocolate to have the best caramels in the world. I have no idea what Vogue Magazine is doing reviewing candy, but rest assured that the caramels really are very good. Especially the ones with sea salt. Eclat also makes mendiants (pressed chocolate discs embossed with pretty shapes), excellent truffles, and various seasonal items. They don't seem to dabble in super-experimental flavors, although there are still chili chocolates and other interesting selections. The shop itself in West Chester isn't much to look at - just a pretty display case, really...but it definitely smells good, since the chocolates are made in back. If you rarely venture out to the suburbs, you can buy a box of Eclat to sample at Fork, Etc. or DiBruno Bros. on Chestnut. Check it out, especially if you're looking to impress someone.

Jeff C.

Yelp
Eclat (NY Chocolate Show) - Master Chocolatier Christopher Curtin is the mastermind behind their signature truffle and mediants. Cultural influences from his travels influence both the design and choice of ingredients. Let me start off by saying that you were one stubborn bitch the first day of the show, failing to give free samples, but you adapted. I am glad you did. Otherwise I wouldn't have ever tried your sexy mediants (thin flat rounds), Aleppo Pink Peppercorn mediant samples to be exact. Aleppo is the valley in Syria where the pink peppercorns are grown. 60% cocoa was perfect to balance out the kick. The kick wasn't apparent at first, but hit you at the end five seconds later. I found myself coughing it was so potent. Thank you ma'am, may I please have another! Pics: http://www.meetup.com/teamfoodie/photos/477262

Yelp
Nationally recognized by Food & Wine, Vogue, etc for its chocolates and especially the Caramel. Not cheap, but I love the caramel with fleur de sel They sometimes have a booth at the Phoenixville farmers market as well.

Nicole L.

Yelp
Eclat, you set the bar high for me. That thing they say about chocolate creating memories is true. Okay, I may have made that up, but you're the sweetness lingering on my tongue after the happy birthday is over. Spouses, significant others, happily singles, this is what you wanna splurge on for special occasions, getting out of hot messes, or defunkifying happy hours. Eclat chocolate will cure all ills and bring a smile to your face. Godiva, Hershey, Willy Wonka, eat your heart out -- Chocolatier Curtin has you beat by a mile and then some.

Jessica R.

Yelp
The chocolate is absolutely divine, period. The flavors are unique and decadent, and I love exploring the new tastes. Without a doubt, the best chocolate I've ever had. If you don't know what to buy as a present to someone, or if you really owe a favor, this is a great option. It's on the pricey side, but I treat myself to a piece every now and then.

Jeffrey P.

Yelp
OK, two points need to be made, and each are equally important! Chocolate - We walked out of the shop with an embarrassing amount of chocolate. They claim their Carmel is world famous and excellent, that is an understatement. Their chocolates satisfy every type of taste imaginable. Aleppo Pepper? Got it. Lavender? Got it. Red Wine? Got it. Whiskey? Got it. Old school milk chocolate? Got it. I wish I could give them 6 stars for quality. Staff - A young lady came out of the kitchen to help, it was apparent she was working diligently all day because the bight sun seemed to bother her eyes. To be perfectly honest, she was college age and I was hoping for the owner/full time person to walk us through the selections. In fact, Emily, the college student, educated me on chocolate in a way that I would have paid for it! She answered every question in vivid detail with authority and passion. She clearly communicated the mission statement of the Chocolatier's vision...that of great chocolate, education and charity. I really love that they put the corresponding airport code on the product to recognize where the chocolate comes from...give love and get love. I wish I could give them 6 stars for staff as well.

Joanne L.

Yelp
Confessions of a Chocoholic I love dark single source chocolates so when I read about Eclat chocolates in a travel magazine, the mendiants really caught my attention. It's been 6-7 months and I finally broke down this week and ordered 5 different kinds of mediants and 1 box of truffles using the website. It's not easy shipping that much chocolate from PA to CA especially to Sacramento where summers are ~ 90 degrees in Folsom. Now looking back, why did I wait so long? I could have enjoyed them in much cooler weather in January!!! Eclat shipped my chocolates quickly and today when I opened them (2 days later), the ice pack was still cold. My chocolates didn't melt as I envisioned even though my UPS guy shows up after 5pm (just my luck). I opened the Madagascar mendiant tube today and it was delicious. Not too sweet, but lots of vanilla and the cocao was really good, dark and complex yet a slight hints of berries. It just melts in your mouth... Great texture....I had 4 pieces... I had to tell myself to stop eating before going to bed. I am a fan! I know I'll love all the other flavors too.

krista f.

Yelp
I was so excited to discover this place! I bought a caramel sampler for me and my girls and it was divine! I'm officially spoiled and can't wait to go back!

Sara S.

Yelp
Yes, this is not cheap chocolate. But trust me - just go there, buy one of their single malt whisky truffled and then prepare yourself to want to spend a LOT of money there. The sea salt caramels are also amazing, but my absolutely favorite might be the coffee chocolate bars they sell - I am definitely a happier person when I have a bar of that in my fridge and can break off a piece for a sweet snack each night. PS. If you have kids, Eclat's truffle boxes make awesome teacher gifts if you like giving actual gifts. Again, trust me on this - I'm a teacher and I get a lot of food gifts and this one NEVER gets shared with friends/family members!

Genevieve B.

Yelp
Okay so... I have to admit that I normally don't like giving five stars when I have to shell out the amount of money that I inevitably have to spend if I want chocolate from this place, but it's just worth it. There's really no other way to put it. I have to warn you, if you are a college student some of the workers here will give you suspicious glances when you walk in and look around, because they probably think you're just there for the samples (guilty as charged the first time I went there!), but if you can swallow your pride and look past the occasional thumbed-up nose, it's definitely worth the money to buy some chocolate here. This is easily the best chocolatier I've been to personally and your friends and family will go absolutely gaga for the stuff if you buy them some chocolate for presents. I especially love coming here around christmas time. Their hot chocolate stirrers make great stocking stuffers and are sometimes on sale for a reasonable price. I personally like to buy small sample boxes of truffles for good friends, because it only sets me back a couple of bucks and if it's for anyone around here (or if they know ANYTHING about chocolate) they'll love it... even if you only buy them four godforsaken pieces of candy. seriously. just try not to eat the chocolate before giving it away. I know it'll be hard. I have faith in you. CONCLUSION: BANGIN chocolate quality: outstanding price: meh... expensive, but worth it.

Dale M.

Yelp
First time here and my heart is breaking that I did not find out about this national treasure sooner. I feel like I just found the leprauchan's (spelling?) pot of gold and it is chocolate. This is a Chocolate heaven. Christopher Curtin is a master. I used to tell people that they must not miss out on going to Italy; now it is Italy and Eclat. Worth ever penny for a taste of bliss. Thank goodness they ship everywhere.

Keith C.

Yelp
Visited on Sunday at 10:40. Yelp hours say it's supposed to be open, but it's all locked up. We're visiting the area from CA and were looking forward to the "Eclat experience." Unfortunately Elcat lost a lot of business today.

Risa M.

Yelp
I just received an early, perishable Valentine from Eclat and there was no way I could wait to try it's contents upon arrival! Many of the usual suspects that I will save myself for, but I had to try the Hawaiian Tea Rose since I hadn't had it before. I was not really pleased and almost had a taste like if you got a little face lotion near your mouth and ingested it... Just a little too flowery for me, but likely to knock the hats off of others. They still get 5 stars because everything else is JUST THAT GREAT and more than makes up for that. Elcat has by far the most amazing truffles I have ever had!! I am a better person after having discovered Eclat many years ago. You will likely leave the store happy and smiling. Ah the power of cacao, and Eclat :)

Kaitlin K.

Yelp
Super fancy and you're going to pay for what you get. Staff is so friendly though and throw samples at you. Fun to look at browse.

Brian D.

Yelp
Good gift for an anniversary! This place is really expensive, but it is good to buy for special occasions. I bought my wife some of their chocolate twice now for our anniversaries. She loves it and it is well worth the price. The also have samples for you to try and they are delicious.

Lori P.

Yelp
Oh my god, the chocolates here are bonkers! So decadent. A little pricey, yes, but for god's sake, treat yourself for once! My favorites are the pink peppercorn mendiants and the champagne chocolates. But just get an assortment...chances are you'll love pretty much whatever you try.

Seth H.

Yelp
Great find for splurging in West Chester! The chocolates are pricey, but the quality and flavors are well worth it. They have the standard case full of individual chocolates, but also little containers of chocolate wafers to take home, which they have samples out on the counter. The wafers and chocolates come in a great variety and make excellent gifts.

Nadia B.

Yelp
If you are looking for quality chocolate then you found it at Eclat. If you want to impress your boss, your girl, your business associate, your mom, etc. get them an assorted box of chocolate from here. The traditional truffle is my favorite. The owner is brilliant and the staff is really knowledgable and friendly. You can walk around the store and sample the chocolate bars and ask as many questions as you'd like and they will answer all of them. You won't be able to sample the truffles, but for what goes into making them and their short shelf life (since they have no preservatives in them), I understand why they don't sample them out. They average $3 each and really are delicious. After eating chocolate from Hershey and Nestle, I break out all over my face. After eating chocolate from Eclat, I don't break out and maintain my clear skin. This is the main reason I love this place. I am able to enjoy quality chocolate without the consequence of breaking out. The prices don't allow for a regular indulgence, but it's definitely a place to get the occasional treat.

Shawn S.

Yelp
Treat your self to a self-indulgent box! Wow! you can read-up on the Chocolatier's bio on the other reviews... all i can say is stop by, get a small box and enjoy. This isn't a eat it up quick chocolate, it's a savor! I loved the salt topped ones and the pepper topped.... it's just good chocolate!

Lynn G.

Yelp
Had these at a new Philadelphia restaurant, Roots. They were delicious and unique. The company is in West Chester and they do ship. Check out their webpage for suggestions. eclatchocolate.com

J M.

Yelp
Expensive chocolate, but you get what you pay for... SO good. I've tried every flavor of the dark chocolate "biscuits," a few of the Valentine's day samplers, and the regular chocolate bars. I wish I had some right now!

Rami M.

Yelp
Unusual mix of flavors I haven't seen elsewhere. The quality is certainly superior. I was so happy to try and buy chocolate with thyme and another one with cardamom. The location is very nice in downtown the cozy town of West Chester, PA.

Glenn K.

Yelp
Ordered $18 chocolate and paid $13+ for shipping so it could be fresh. Still arrived 2 days late and the chocolate was warm. May still be good but if your going to charge $31 for a bar of chocolate and shipping, it better be there on time and not melted.

EatdrinkOm S.

Yelp
The best tasting, most creative chocolates! You definitely get what you pay for. These are something special! I get these chocolates for presents, special occasions and even for myself! I never tasted such flavors in chocolate. Lavender, rose , mint, passion fruit, champagne ! I want to attend the next pairing event!!!

Jean Harvey K.

Yelp
I'm going to be honest, I hate gourmet chocolate. I'm a simple guy with simple tastes. I like Hershey and crap like that. So obviously, I didn't really enjoy the chocolate I sampled here, and the prices felt ridiculously steep to me - $3 for like an ounce of chocolate? The truffles are cute and probably taste good, but I dunno. I don't know how the chocolate economy works, maybe that's cheap for such fancy chocolate! I wouldn't know, I just popped it right around opening time because I spotted their truck while meandering around town and I figured I could see what they had But the thing is, this shop isn't meant to cater to people like me. So for the people it's meant for, I'm sure it's lovely. The set-up was very nice and neat, and the people were very polite and super kind, even though I walked my punk-vest wearing, nosey teenage ass right into that store like a minute after opening this morning, with not a clue how this store worked or what they sold. They had some samples set out, and as I tried some of them the nice lady behind the counter explained a bunch of stuff about each one, which was interesting and cool and also totally lost on me. So, long story short: Cool store with nice staff, just expect it to be gourmet and fancy and probably out of your league unless you're a chocolate snob, haha. Although I'm sure if the place isn't too busy and you're polite about it, you could ask the folks there to educate you!

Steve M.

Yelp
We just moved to Pennsylvania and stumbled on this place. Left spending quite a bit on chocolate. There were so many unusually awesome combinations...red wine, or my favorite pepper corns. There is a reason this place has been written up in some of the best food magazines.

Bob 1.

Yelp
My daughter started at West Chester University this year and we wandered into the store on parents weekend. I am so glad we did. The chocolate is expensive but so worth it. My favorite by far has to be the Mole Amarillo. It is the best I have ever eaten...heavenly. Unfortunately, I sent my daughter there to get more after Christmas and she was told that they discontinued the Mole Amarillo. I am so disappointed. Please reconsider and bring it back. The customer service was also exceptional. The owner came out and spoke to us and the girl at the counter was very nice.

Gold M.

Yelp
I love chocolate, but I never felt like "Damn this is a really really good chocolate" until I had Eclat's chocolate. My boyfriend got their chocolate as a gift and but I probably had 80% of it. I love "MADAGASCAR". one of those very thin chocolate. It is delicate and looks sophisticated. I call it Chanel Chocolate at home :)
