Yelp
Great ambiance, regular (not excellent) service. The food, however, is SUBPAR. We love Spanish tapas and have had them in many parts of the world. This has to be one of the worst, unfortunately. The menu ideas read great, but the execution is poor. We order fried calamari pretty much every restaurant we go to and this might be the worst (or second to worst). The pan Catalan was a joke, ropa vieja is nothing like the Cuban speciality. I thought it was innovative to have that on the menu of a Spanish tapas restaurant, but it wasn't innovative at all, just poorly done. The beef came out in chunks (rather than shredded, as it should be), and it was just the chucks of beef in the sauce, nothing to put that on! (It needed fried plantains, rice, whatever...get creative, that's what tapas are about!). Again, it wasn't innovative or creative, just poorly done. We ordered more tapas, hoping we had just picked wrong at first. Unfortunately, we kept getting disappointed with each thing that was brought out.
Sangria tasted like grape juice and had no fresh fruit in it (as advertised on the menu).
In all, love the ambiance and music, just wish the food was on par with that. If it the food were great, the place would be epic!
So, 1 star from me because restaurants are about food, not ambiance.
