What an absolutely stunning thing to experience while in Paris. The restaurant, the ambiance, the server all added up to one of the most fun and delicious dining affairs I've ever had.
I ordered the 5 course chef's tasting menu at the recommendation of my server, along with the wine pairing. Presentation for all courses was quite beautiful. The starter was a light and delicate flaky sandwich type of bite and then out came the first course. The first few courses were very delicately flavored, and quite earthy. The use of fresh vegetables were paired in ways I could never think of. In between courses there were various bread offerings with an assortment of different butters to try. My favorite was the smoky butter.
My favorite course was the quail on squash with a side of wilted spinach, ham, and small crunchy potato chips.
Once all of the dinner courses were completed, I was presented with a light sorbet palate cleanser. Then came dessert which was almost like a crunchy caramel/toffee graham cracker shell with apple and chocolate inside and topped with a vanilla ice cream. This course was served with the recommended cognac.
At the end of it all were two small sandwich bites, one a lemon meringue bite and the other a tiramisu bite, served with espresso.
If you're looking for a fine dining experience or to splurge on a fancy restaurant I don't think you'll be disappointed with this one.
