Edda’s Cake Designs - Review - South Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"Growing up in Miami, you were likely either a Lucila’s or Edda’s household—a partisan to a cakeshop rivalry half a century old. Lucila eventually sold her shop to new ownership. Meanwhile, Edda’s expanded like self-rising flour. Today, you can even find her mini bundt cakes at Milam’s. But nothing beats a vanilla rum cake from her shop. It’s moist, not too boozy, and has thick frosting so sweet that no one ever ever actually finishes a whole slice. Their deluxe cakes come in fun decorations, like unicorns or soccer balls, but nothing as grand (or Miami) as the guayabera cake. The detailing of the pockets and stitching is impressive but takes time, so place your order at least 48 hours before Tio Joaquin’s birthday party. For an extra $12, you can even order it with a mini edible cigar on the side. He’ll appreciate it after your aunt made him quit his Cohibas." - Virginia Otazo

I ordered and fully designed a custom cake with the decorator “Yammy.” We discussed every detail in writing, and I have full documentation of the agreed-upon design. For safety and assurance, the designer recommended delivery. The cake was delivered to my home at approximately 3:00 PM. Upon arrival, the cake was wet, cracked, stained, and falling apart. The fondant leaves had fallen off, the bow was cracked, and the overall structure was clearly compromised. I immediately called the store and spoke with the manager, Jessica. She attributed the damage to delivery — despite the delivery being only a 17-minute drive — and stated they would send the decorator to my home with the correct materials to fix the cake (new fondant leaves, the proper bow, and an airbrush machine). However, when the decorator arrived, she did not bring any of the necessary items. She had only the wrong flowers, no fondant bow, no correct colors, and no airbrush machine. When I called Jessica again, she stated that “this is the best they can do,” contradicting their earlier promise to properly fix the cake. The cake was not salvageable, was not delivered in acceptable condition, and the merchant failed to provide the corrective service they agreed to. Because of this, the product was unusable for its intended purpose and did not match what I ordered.

Edda's made the cake for my wedding and it came out absolutely amazing. Multiple guests said it was their first wedding where the cake was actually good! We went with the amaretto cake and dulce de Leche buttercream filling. Couldn't be happier with my experience with Edda's and the wonderful service they provided!

Edda’s Cake Design made the most perfect four - tier cake for our daughter’s wedding. Elegant, soft, and absolutely beautiful — it took our breath away. And the taste was unforgettable. Our guests are still talking about it. Edda’s added such sweetness and magic to a day we’ll cherish forever. Marble Rum Is delicious.

Google
The cake was beautiful and looked amazing. Everything went very smooth. The cake itself, not my favorite, it was moist but didn’t really taste like vanilla and had a dense texture. The filling compared to the size of the layer cake is so small and the frosting … well that was my issue, the frosting was inedible. You can feel the grains of sugar, it’s American butter cream through and through. All in all it was a heavy cake that you can only eat maybe a spoon or two of, the best part which is the filling was almost inexistent. I rate this cake 6/10 because there are way worse out there but in terms of quality, flavor and balance it fell short. I’d probably never order a cake from here again.

Google
Ordered a cake for my wife’s birthday three days in advance. When I arrived, I gave them my name and all my information and they told me that there was No order for me. When they went to the back to check, they said they never saw my order so it wasn’t ready. They ended up rushing around and giving me someone else’s cake and making me wait (An hour) for a fondant design that was supposed to be ready already.

Google
Edda’s Cakes provided the cake for our wedding and it was both beautiful and delicious. We did vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and raspberry filling and everyone loved it!! The tasting they provided really helped us in our decision and they talked us through how we wanted the final cake design to look. They have a book with the available designs, so it was easy to envision exactly what the cake would look like. And let me tell you, it looked EXACTLY like the photo! They were super helpful in answering the many questions that we had later down the road. They even accommodated us making a last minute change to our order a week before the event! Overall, Edda’s provided a stress-free experience with a beautiful and delicious cake. Thank you so much to the whole team there, you guys were awesome.

Google
Love Sandra and the service she gave me today in the cake tastings. The cakes were all yummy but my favorites were Marble, vanilla rum and pineapple. Sandra’s customer service is excellent and she tries to make you happy every way she could. I will follow up with photos of the cake soon.

I bought 2 packs of the small cupcakes and 3 Bundt cakes. They were awful. Super dry. Could not believe how bad they have gotten. I will never again eat them.

Yelp
My sister is a huge fan of Edda's and has always insisted we go to them for birthday cakes, even though there are plenty of great bakeries in Miami. Last year, we ordered my son's birthday cake with a dulce de leche filling on one tier and a plain second tier It was simple but well made, so we gave them another try this year. This time, I worked with Yamy. I visited in person, explained what I needed, and followed up with pictures via text. She gave me the same quote as last year. I did forget to mention the filling in the text, and when I brought it up, she flipped. I tried to explain that we had it the year before, but she insisted it wasn't in her "archives" and cut me off mid-sentence. I found that extremely rude--good customer service should start with listening, not arguing. She also asked me to send several photos and design details, which made me feel like I was doing most of the planning work myself. Still, I assumed the cake would be the same size as last year's two-tier cake. When we went to pick it up, I was shocked at how small it was. Yamy was on vacation, so I couldn't speak to her. I ended up rushing to another bakery--ironically, my first choice this year--to order cupcakes last-minute, I will be Slicing sliver-thin pieces later on. To be fair, the cake was beautifully executed. But the overall experience this year left a sour taste. It honestly felt like the downsizing was intentional. Sadly, we won't be returning. Great product is one thing, but customer service is just as important--and that means truly listening to your customers, not shutting them down. They might not care about reviews or others but this is my way to vent. Second part!!! They did not put the right filling and the cake was DRY!!! Still waiting for the manager to call me

My favorite cake bakery. I get my birthday cake from Edda's every year. Excellent service.

Yelp
I used to come to this bakery all the time in college to get their cupcakes! I've always loved this bakery and was excited when I found out my wedding venue partners with them for the wedding cake. I booked an appointment to come after my food tasting at the wedding venue. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very accommodating knowing that I was only in town for the weekend and on a time constraint. She was able to fit me in. When we arrived, we were greeted and directed to sit at a table. They gave us a book to flip through with the options that are included with our venue, and a break down of additional charges if you pick different fillings or cake flavors. The lady helping us brought the tray of a lot of different flavors to try and also a few of the fillings they offer. She didn't mind bring more samples (because me and my 3 best friends tore up that sampler plate!). I tried different combos with tasting the cake by itself then tasting it with a couple different fillings. My favorite cake flavors were the vanilla rum and Amaretto. The vanilla rum is included and the Amaretto would be an extra charge per person. My favorite filling was the guava, and the strawberry was my second. All the cakes were good, but I do wish they had a strawberry cake, which is my fiancé's favorite. The strawberry cream cupcake is their closest option to a strawberry cake. Which isn't strawberry cake at all. It is a vanilla cake with strawberry cream icing.

Yelp
This place was amazing. Sandra is so awesome and caters to your every need and tastes. My wedding cake is exactly what I wanted and she was accommodating and so nice. I am so happy I met Sandra. Her cakes are so delicious and my favorite too 3 were marble, vanilla rum and pineapple flavor. Love this place and I will follow up with pictures of my wedding cake soon

Yelp
Edda's did our wedding cake in April 2021, everyone said it was the best cake they have ever had. We got a 3-tier "naked" cake with the amaretto flavor and buttercream icing. It was a beautiful cake and we still get complements over a year later. This November, my husband wanted to order the same cake flavor for his birthday. We couldn't place an order online, as the birthday cakes only had pre-determined flavor options. Calling was a hassle, my mother-in-law had to repeat herself a bunch of times. Pickup was okay, but it definitely seemed to take a bit longer than expected. Maybe they just had a lot of cakes in the back that they needed to look through? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for that. When my husband dug into his birthday cake, he said the flavor was overwhelmingly amaretto and that it was actually kind of gross. He said it tasted like instead of adding a few drops of flavoring, they accidentally spilled the entire bottle into the mix. We were pretty bummed by this most recent order from Edda's and will be looking elsewhere for our cake needs in the future.

Yelp
Cute little store located right off the main road with easy access. Service isn't the best. Customer service is lacking abit. But the cake looked great and tastes very good.

Yelp
Edda's cake is truly a Miami staple. I have been having Eddas cake for as long as I can remember. For my boyfriend's birthday recently I ordered a custom birthday cake. They made everything so easy and relaxing. When I picked up the cake it was everything I dreamed it would like not to mention the taste was out of this world. I brought it to a family celebration for my boyfriend's birthday and the cake was gone within 30 mins. Eddas cake design will never not put a smile to my face. The flavors and texture of their cakes are out of this world and I will be getting birthday cakes from them for years to come. Vanilla rum will forever be my favorite flavor and if you need a sign to get a cake from them let this be it.

Yelp
We loved our wedding cake! We did a two tier for 30 people naked cake. One tier was piña colada and the second was amaretto cake with guava filling.

Yelp
Amazed at the high quality, great tasting, beautiful cake I received. I could not have asked for an easier transaction process, from beginning to end. They designed EXACTLY what I had asked for, and it couldn't have been any better. I ordered a cake for my graduation and showed them one photo and luckily it was all they needed. I can't recall exactly what we paid but I believe it was $60 or $80, which after consulting several other businesses this was definitely on the lower end. Most businesses were asking for $200-$250 for a cake of this size (small-ish). So definitely, I had reservations porque lo barato sale caro but in this case, wow. Definitely exceeded my expectations. The cake also tasted amazing, I'm telling you...it doesn't get any better than this. They earned a loyal customer!

Yelp
We got our wedding cake through here and it was amazing! We decided on a vanilla rum cake with raspberry filling. It was so good I had two pieces, and I'm not a big wedding cake person! Thanks Edda!

Yelp
I wanted to give them a second chance after they messed up my first order (they offered to fix it and did. However, I did get into with a employee who told me I was making "too many changes" after I called to see if we could move a ribbon to another area. They were fixing their own mistakes and made it seem like my simple request was 1 of 100) Anyway, I'm going to upload the following photos of this "second chance". The first photo is what I requested without the flowers, second photo is from their website (I asked that the small black dots be smaller and more dainty like the first photo and that the color of the cake would be more tan like the first cake), the last photo is the cake I received. From these pictures you can make your own opinions but I will never be returning. Ever. To be honest, when they brought it out, I was in such shock I just blurred out "oh, it's cute". No idea what I was thinking - I obviously had no thoughts. I was just in shock of how bad it is. I genuinely feel like this is a joke and the only thing I can do is laugh and share my experience. Note: even my Mother (the person this cake is for) said "it's bad enough to be funny). Everyone I have showed this cake to has laughed.

Yelp
DISGUSTING CAKE!!!! EVEN MORE DISGUSTING MANAGER CARLOS!!!! We purchased our wedding cake here and it was completely forgotten. So the whipped up a cake in a hurry that was dry nasty and no one liked. We returned 80% of the cake the next day and was offered a refund but then was avoided like the plague. By the lier of the manager Carlos. Don't waste you're money on shitty cake

Yelp
Back in the days I would rate Edda's Cake Designs 5 stars but they've definitely lost their passion for cakes. Although their designs are beautiful the quality of the cake is not. The last cake I bought back in May was super dry when I brought it in the lady was like you can't refrigerate. Oh really?! As if it was the first time I've ever had rum cake plus they keep their to go cakes in the refrigerated coolers. Smh. Service was ehh, I believe they're short staffed which is understandable nowadays but clients in person are priority over the phone. The ambiance of the shop is also SUPER outdated! They need to get on their game for the kind of prices they charge for their baked food and cake creations. I'll leave you here with 2 slices I had my sons girlfriend to buy (1/2) slices! When she got home with the slices I was blown away! Mind you, I had purchased 4 of these slices a month ago and they were the size of the container. Unbelievable! Same price as a full slice. What's going on Edda's?! Definitely not going back!

Yelp
I payed more than $80 for a "Deluxe Birthday Cake" and it came with no filling! I ordered a red velvet. It was a surprise for my husband and it ended up being a joke. I'm never returning here.

Yelp
We did a lot of research on wedding cake vendors and spoke to a few. As a same sex couple, planning a wedding over 1,400 miles away, we wanted to make sure the cake designer and baker could create a beautiful and tasty wedding cake for us and our guests. They nailed it! We connected with Madelyn and Edda's Cake Design, Doral. She was very easy to work with and scheduled a cake tasting for us a few months prior to ur wedding. We flew into Miami and met with Madelyn. She had several samples of cake of different flavors for us to try. My then fiancé, now wife, both chose the Puerto Rican Rum flavored cake. It was delicious. The guests loved it! Madelyn even added a cascading flower to our wedding cake prior to delivery. We had our wedding planner add the topper once it arrived to the reception venue. Edda's Cake Design also make great desserts. We ordered pecan pie tarts, tiramisu, fruit tarts, flan, and guava mini cheesecake for our dessert table. Edda's Cake Design made us the best wedding cake. Thanks Madelyn for all your help!

Yelp
I have been a client of Edda's Cake Designs for 30 years. I can look back at every special occasion in the life of my family, and a cake from Edda's Cake Designs has always been a part of the celebration. When I walk into the store, I simply love all of the sample cakes that adorn the space. I like to receive inspiration from the samples on the sales boutique as well as the albums that they have. I love going through the albums by theme and selecting the cake that fits the mood of my particular party. I recently visited for the millionth time for my son's 26th birthday, I had not ordered a cake, but I knew that they always have small cakes available for walk-ins that did not plan ahead, just like me... I love the fact that there are ladies in this location that have been working there for many years, and know the ins and outs of getting just the right cake for the occasion. I selected a classic ballon rum cake, and even though I do not drink alchohol, I have been assured that this rum cake does not have any actual alchohol since the rum gets evaporated and only the taste remains. I went home and after a delightful dinner, I served the very anticipated cake from Edda. The reaction from my kids, husband and parents was the same exact reaction that I have witnessed for the past 3 decades. First, silence... then mmmmmmm's start to come out of each one of them making a song that we all know too well. Just thinking about this decadent delight makes we want to run out, beat traffic, and get one for tonight's dessert! I anticipate the next family celebration so that we can once again enjoy a slice of this delightful rum cake. Needless to say, this place is a keeper! Five stars is too small of a rating in my book!

Jesslyn C.

Yelp
Excellent cakes. Sad to see them Leave PembrokePines. Been a loyal customer since they opened. All my kids birthday were celebrated with her cakes. Now it's a ways out having to drive down to Miami. Hope they come back.

Yelp
The tasting at many places is very similar but these folks were willing to work with us. We originally met them through a deal from Club of Knights and as time progress we felt more confident in their ability to meet our expectations. I mean it's a cake, fine I get it; however, it was truly a center piece in the event. They took great care in being on time and frankly the cake was delicious. Nice job.

Eliza L.

Yelp
I ordered from Edda's for many years - consecutively - for my daughter's birthdays. She is now an adult and we were hosting her Baby Shower at the Rusty Pelican Miami. I immediately thought of the delicious cakes from Edda's. Things have changed - without a doubt - and not for the good. We were all extremely disappointed. Out of a rating of 10 (being the best), I would give them a 5 (and I am being generous). I guess a $450.00 cake for 60 people doesn't buy you much these days.
google avatar

Kristina A.

Yelp
I want to start off by saying my family and I have been loyal customers since my christening, I am 29 years old. We've ordered every single birthday and celebration cake from Edda's Cake Design. I ordered a simple red velvet with cream cheese filling deluxe naked cake for my brother's birthday. The cake looked beautiful, red velvet is our favorite flavor so you can imagine our disappointment when we cut into a crumbling cake (clearly old) with zero filling (which you pay extra for). The cake was dry and falling apart. There was no cream cheese filling just the buttercream which frankly tasted disgusting. Since I trusted the quality of their cake, I never thought to check Edda's Yelp reviews. If I had read the reviews I would have chosen another bakery. These cakes are over priced and by the look of these reviews their quality has gone down as well.

Yelp
I loved the cake. Not only was the piano done fantastic but the taste was superb. I will definitely use you guys again.

Yelp
.my family had tried so many different cakes that we thought were good until we went to a birthday party and tried Edda's cake and we never looked back. we pick one up for every celebration in our families for weddings to birthdays and even just for a treat. this is the best cake in Miami or in all of Florida.

Yelp
I placed an order and showed them a picture of what I wanted and wow...my mouth dropped as soon as I saw it! They killed it!!! The birthday girl didn't even want to cut it so they party ended with no one even gettin cake from how AMAZING it looked! 15/10 definitely recommend and the staff is amazing and super friendly, a big round of applause to them for outdoing themselves and helping me as much as they could! Definitely getting the rest of cakes here and at an amazing price!

Yelp
Amazing Cake!! Our venue was Deer Creek Golf Club and in this package the cake was included and they gave us a few cake vendors and we went to Eddas Cake and we were not disappointed!! The cake tasting was a lot of fun, the people that worked there were nice and we ended up going with a variety of flavors! Tasted yummy. Thank you!

Yelp
Edda's Cake was not only recommended by our Catering Manager, but also by our Decorator and day-of planner, neither of whom had ever met. And they were right. Edda's Cake Design Miami accommodated for 4 additional guests during our tasting, helped us select the perfect cake, and even called a couple of days before the ceremony to confirm the final guest count. We couldn't be happier. It was absolutely delicious and our guests loved it. We recommend vanilla rum flavor! Thank you!!

Loida L.

Yelp
Thank you Yamy and Edda's Cake design for a beautiful and delicious cake Always perfection with amazing taste and great service

Yelp
This is no longer a bakery. They do not bake but buy the cakes. I went to pickup my cade and a van was delivering all their cake. I told the owner I thought they were a bakery and he ignored me. Cake looked great but fresh it was not. Don't waste your money, could have gone to Publix.
google avatar

Yvelin R.

Yelp
These cakes are so yummy! I've had my fair share of Edda's cakes over the years and wow, totally worth breaking my diet for. My favorite would be the vanilla rum cake, very tasty and moist. I'm not a fan of icing but I actually like the icing from Edda's. Other flavors I enjoy here are the red velvet and guava. The last cake I got here, 2 days ago, was $20 for 10 servings. Not bad if you ask me, just a little bit more than Publix cakes (which I absolutely love too!). As far as spending hundreds of dollars on a cake, well...it's not something I'd personally ever do unless I one day a lot of money to not care lol. Therefore I can't review based on the expensive prices others have mentioned.

Yelp
I came all the way from California to spend time with family. It was my daughter's 12th birthday and I called Edda's cake design to get information about their cakes. I spike with Jaelynn, what an amazing customer service, she helped me over the phone to make sure I got my cake ordered how I wanted it. Then due to a mistake i said I needed the cake by the 19th. However the party was on the 18th. On the 18th at their closing time she made sure that our cake was decorated and ready for our daughter's surprise party. Kudos to her and Kudos to the baker. You guys put a smile on a 12 year old little cake! I recommend Edda's cake not just for the amazing flavor, and design, bit for their great customer service! Thank you guys!

Johana C.

Yelp
Visited Eddas for my wedding cake tasting. We were seen on time by a friendly girl who promptly brought out Cake flavors for us to taste and a variety of fillings. She also gave us a wedding cake handbook that had all the prices laid out and tiers explained. The process was so easy and simply we were done in 15 minutes! My favorite flavors were the classic vanilla and red velvet. Also the dulce de leche buttercream was delicious!

Yelp
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I had an 11am cake tasting reservation for my wedding. I arrived at 10:30, in which I was told I had arrived too early and had to wait for the personnel to be available. Mind you there was only 1 other person in the store waiting to receive a cake. My fiance and I sat down waiting our 30 minutes. At exactly 11am, I cant even tell you who came to bring us the tray of cake because they didnt even introduce themselves. They simple came put the tray on the table and states these are included, these are an extra charge, here is some water. Literally walked away, didnt even give a chance to ask a question. We were only given part of the cakes to try. Most were dry and appeared old, not even fresh. We waited for someone to come back but no one ever did. At this point the store became busy and everyone was at the front desk, they would glance t us from time to time but ZERO effort to communicate. After sitting for about 20 minutes, we got up and left. No one even noticed us leaving and if they did, they didnt bother stopping us. Still waiting for a call back. Guess they really dont care. If I could give it zero stars I certainly would.

Yelp
I love their cakes. Im just disappointed that after sending a picture for a birthday cake a week before and checking about the design, it still wasn't done until i literally was picking it up plane. They pasted the picture in there and my friend anyways loved it, it was fresh and tasted great as usual. The manager offered me a discount on my next purchase, how about the one I was taking, and had waited an hour for... Taste/quality I give them 5/5, Customer service/satisfaction needs improvement.

Richard F.

Yelp
After dozens of cakes and years of loyalty to Edda's, their customer service and products have absolutely gone down the drain. A business I used to enjoy supporting is now one I never wish to visit again. I was insulted by their manager who evidently does not know how to work in customer service after insulting me to my face. Highly disappointed. You could do so much better if you went back to how you used to do things.

Marta C.

Yelp
Terrible customer support and the cakes were horrible, a total waste and when I complaint to the owner Carlos Martinez, his response was you should have brought the cakes back? I ordered cakes for 12-24-21 and paid 45.00 to have it delivered and when my guest had a piece the cake tasted like ground beef. So brides and all who think of ordering from Eddas Cake, DONT unless you keep your bad cake until the owner can taste it for himself. Nasty and over priced Marta M Comas

Yelp
I'm giving Edda's a 3 star review due to the fact that I ordered a RED VELVET cake for my moms birthday on 12/24 & I was charged for wanting this flavor, to come to my surprise when we cut the cake it was not red velvet. I was SO disappointed because red velvet is my moms favorite cake flavor and to not be able to surprise her with this, was very disappointing from Edda's. If you're ordering a cake just make sure they use the flavor you ordered & not end up disappointed like I did.

Yelp
I have been ordering cakes from here for over 10 years now. Yami is by far the best to work with! She truly knows how to bring my cake vision to life. Her attention to details is amazing! She makes the best suggestions and always knows what I am looking for.

Yelp
WHAT A FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE. There aren't enough caps lock to show how frustrating it was having to deal with the women at the counter. I want to start off this review by explaining how long my family has been a customer here. This is literally the only place we purchase cakes from in Miami. Birthdays, we come here, special events, we come here. My crazy elaborate birthday cakes for my birthday parties as a child (beach ball cake, extremely detailed octopus cake with all the tentacles, a multi tiered precious moments cake for my first communion) the list literally goes one forever. Oh and my wedding cake (for June aka 3 months from now) is also coming from this bakery. One would think that being a loyal customer for this long someone would make an effort to keep us happy loyal customers. So onward and forward, my bridal shower is next month so OBVIOUSLY we came here. We came Monday and spoke to Jackie (Jacqueline?). She was fine I showed her a picture of the cake I wanted she said okay this is what we can do explained it all to my mother and I. She said a cake like the one we wanted would cost $200. We decided to leave because we wanted to sample the carrot cake before making a decision and they didn't have any that day. Jackie told us if we had any questions to call her or to come back and ask for her. SO, we come back today (Friday). Jackie is nowhere in sight. Yamy begins to help us, we go through all the same things show her the photo, tell her how many people it's for blah blah blah. She's like okay this is what we can do it'll look like this and be this tall. Wonderful. Perfect. Yamy says this cake will cost you $260... UHM EXCUSE ME? HOW CAN THE SAME EXACT CAKE COST ME $60 MORE 5 DAYS LATER. So we inform Yamy that we were here Monday and that we spoke to Jackie and she gave a $200 price tag. Yamy states that's impossible there's no way a cake like the one we want can be $200 she said she would bring it down to $195 if we do it for 30 people instead of 40 people. We tell her no that's not what Jackie told us on Monday it needs to be for 40 people. So Yamy asks us to give her a minute so she can go speak to Jackie who was apparently in the back. Jackie tells Yamy that she obviously didn't give us that information on Monday and that "she told us something completely" different than what we were stating. Jackie said the quote she gave us was for 30 people not 40 (the possibility of lowering the person count was NEVER discussed with Jackie) Jackie refused to come out to speak with us. Yamy tried her best to work with us and brought the price down for us (by $20) because of the whole ordeal. She informed us that Jackie had given us incorrect information regarding pricing and how the cake would be done. Yamy reassured us that she's been with this company a very long time and knew what she was talking about. She was very nice have is suggestions on where to get the flowers that would go on top of the cake and suggested we get 9 of the flowers so that it fits perfectly on the top. You can tell she was very knowledgeable. Yamy was sweet and tried to make sure to work with us the best we could. For this, I thank her for. She's probably the best and most knowledgeable cashier I've dealt with at the bakery in the past year. Although Yamy saved the day, this place seriously needs to get it together. This is not my first issue here. The customer service that I have experienced here is unprofessional and plain old rude. Although Yamy was extremely helpful today my 3 stars remain due to the extreme frustration I had to go through just to order a freaking cake and to everything else that occurred. Get. It. Together. Edda's.

Yelp
Disappointed at your "Edda's Vanilla Rum Celebration"cake. We bought one yesterday at Milam's Supermarket on Red Rd. This cake was not only dry, but instead of a vanilla-rum flavor, it tasted quite artificial. No rum flavor at all. The icing seemed like it was made with shortening rather than actual buttercream. A piece of icing in the sink, took forever to disolve. For $21.99... I don't think so. Never again.

Yelp
Never again!!!!! $90 for a naked cake for 20 people that was not impressive at all and was quite similar to the "standard" cakes on their display that they sell for $40. Their pricing is off! I recommend you go somewhere else.

Yelp
Went to Edda's for my husband's 40th bday cake. After telling Cake Consultant Yamy my vision, the theme and my budget she came up with the best idea ! She even suggested minor changes that made all the difference. The cake was a hit and I truly appreciate her patience with me. The cake looked great and it tasted great too!

Yelp
We decided to order the cake for my sister in laws graduation as a gift and we were deciding where to go, we are loyal to Mishas but since we wanted to put a design of her school mascot we decided to go to Edda's. At first we were worried since we had read all the negative reviews here in yelp, but since we were short on time we took the chance with Edda and were very satisfied with the whole experience. We arrived the prior week and were greeted by one of the staff members. They let us sample several flavors such as the Guava and Amaretto, but we decided to play it safe in choose the original rum vanilla. To include the image of the school mascot they advised to use fondant icing with the basic vanilla flavor. Since it was a large party the cake was a little pricey but this was a special occasion. I arrived this past Saturday to pick it up and everything came out exactly the way we planned. The cake also did not disappoint and it was devoured by our guests within minutes. It was super moist while the rum flavor was not overbearing and the fondant icing was perfect and too overly sweet. I would recommend Edda's for any special event and you should schedule a tasting section to sample the other flavors.

Worst customer service!!! Do not order your cake here please!!! They messed my cake and they didn't give a solution, they charged me 110$$ for a $20 $ cake with the wrong filling and flavor, they are rude !!! Order somewhere else, don't waste your money in this place!!!!!

Yelp
My family is in Miami for a surprise 50th birthday for 2 family members. I called Edda's on a Friday to order a cake for the next Wednesday. I explained what kind of cake and then I emailed a photo and our request. I then called again on Friday to verify my email was received, it was verified and I was informed someone would call me for the pricing. I waited and didn't hear again so I called on Saturday. Still no information but was assured someone was going to call me to confirm. No call back and no email so today (Tuesday) I called and was informed it's too late to order for tomorrow as I expected. No explanation as to why they never followed up with me. Now we have NO CAKE for a surprise party. I'm sure the cakes are good (haven't tried them) but with that type of customer service I would never do business with Edda's Custom Cakes. I'm so disappointed!

Yelp
I had tasted their cakes before for my sisters wedding and it left an impression...here i am 3 years later i asked Yammy for a custom cake for my daughters 1st birthday and it was phenomenal. I mean she understood what i wanted every last detail. Not to mention she made the cupcakes PERFECTLY COORDINATED to the cake( a huge detail for me ) she also added a bow since i wanted it for my little girl. Thank you, you have a customer forever now

Yelp
I placed an order for a 20 person naked cake with amaretto flavor. The cake looked great but when we finally cut into it, it was vanilla rum. When I called the next day they told me they needed to call another location where the cake was made to verify the cake flavor. They did not call me back so I had to call for an additional two days to get a response from them. They then informed me that the cake they gave me was amaretto and maybe the flavor was "too light". This is my favorite flavor cake and I would NOT confuse the two. They did not offer me a refund since I paid extra for a specialty flavor I did not receive. Never ordering from them again. Horrible customer service.

Yelp
I have been going to eddas for years and honestly I don't change them for anything. I should have been putting many reviews because eddas is truly the best. Yamy is amazing. She has always made sure my cakes are done perfectly. And if theirs a problem they have always done anything to fix it. They are truly amazing. Highly recommend.
