Eddie Merlot’s Steakhouse Chain to Expand to Boston’s Seaport District | Eater Boston

"An Indiana-based steakhouse chain with 13 locations nationwide is planning to occupy the large space at 505 Congress St. in Boston’s Seaport, targeting a January 2020 opening and seeking transfer of the former tenant’s liquor license. The concept will feature its full menu of prime and wagyu beef while expanding the seafood selection to suit the Boston market, drawing on a long-standing partnership with local supplier Stavis Seafoods. Typical offerings include classic steakhouse sides such as creamed corn, mashed potatoes, steamed asparagus, and scalloped potatoes, alongside seafood items like yellowfin tuna steaks, cedar-plank salmon, and grilled shrimp. Its arrival will add another national steakhouse to a neighborhood already home to Del Frisco’s, Morton’s, The Palm, Smith & Wollensky, Ocean Prime, and Mastro’s Ocean Club." - Terrence Doyle

Normally for Thanksgiving, I pre-order a takeout meal from a restaurant. This year, I decided I wanted a dine-in experience instead. After researching several restaurants with strong reviews, I was looking for a budget-friendly Thanksgiving meal for a party of five. Eddie Merlot’s stood out with its $50.00 per person Thanksgiving dinner, along with great drink and dinner menu options, so I made our reservation online. Upon arrival, we noticed the handicap door opener was not working. We reported it to the host, who informed us that management was already aware of the issue. On our way out, a host kindly assisted by holding the door open. Let me start by saying that I absolutely loved the vibe of the restaurant. Our server, Renuka C., was outstanding—attentive, warm, and consistently checking in throughout our dinner. We began with the calamari appetizer. Two of us ordered the Thanksgiving meal, which included Eddie’s House Salad, Hand-Carved Roasted Turkey with gravy and sage stuffing, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potato Casserole, Fresh Asparagus, and Carrot Cake for dessert. The rest of the table enjoyed the Trio of Medallions, Filet Del Mar, New Orleans Mixed Grill, and Triple Chocolate Cake. We also ordered two drinks: the Sake Sunset and the Prickly Pear Margarita—my daughter noted that the Prickly Pear Margarita was very strong. Every dish we ordered was absolutely mouth-watering. Everything was cooked to perfection, from the entrées to the desserts. We all enjoyed our meals and drinks—no complaints, only compliments. I highly recommend Eddie Merlot’s for a wonderful Thanksgiving dining experience.

My friend and I wanted a thanksgiving experience so we decided to visit Eddie Merlot on thanksgiving and try their thanksgiving menu. First of all, the place is so nice and the service was great. The main issue was with the food. The only good thing about their three course menu is the appetizers. My friend and I shared a Caesar salad and crab bisque, both were so good and the portion was also good. The main dish was the turkey with the option to choose two sides. I chose the mashed potatoes and broccoli. The turkey was so chewy and did not taste good. I could barely eat two bites from the dish. For dessert, we also shared a chocolate and carrot cake. The chocolate cake was tasty but too sweet. We did not like the carrot cake, it had a lot of cinnamon in it, which we’re not big fans of. Although we did not eat most of the dishes, no one bothered to ask us if we liked the food or if there was any problem. It was honestly the worst 50$ I ever spent on food and would not recommend.

We were really looking forward to a nice dinner date, but unfortunately the experience fell short. The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. The sweet and spicy shrimp were flavorful, and the bread was warm and enjoyable. We were excited for the Australian tomahawk steak, which was the main reason for our visit, but it was a major disappointment. We wanted it medium rare but intentionally ordered it medium to be safe, and it still arrived rare. While the flavor was acceptable, it wasn’t impressive, especially for the price. The sides were equally underwhelming. The mac and cheese was poorly executed—made with a roux that had coagulated, resulting in a bland dish where the cheese didn’t even adhere to the noodles. It barely tasted like cheese at all. The asparagus was overcooked and mushy. The wine was surprisingly decent, though it appeared to be a ~$20 bottle, which felt consistent with the overall quality of the meal. Overall, the experience didn’t justify the cost, and we likely won’t be returning.

Google
A venue well worth visiting. Phenomenal layout, from just walking in.. and it only gets better. You're catered to by Knowledgeable barstaff with Accommodating front desk staff. Great menu with choices that you would more than approve of. Well-made libations, and dishes served with pleasure. Prepare your taste palate before coming. You'll thank me later.

Google
What a great surprise! I usually check reviews first, but this time I just went with the flow and it was outstanding. Vanessa’s service made the night even better (she even brought me fresh jalapeños!). The grilled romaine salad is a must-try (and I don’t even like salads). The Wagyu ribeye was cooked perfectly, good portion, great value. Calamari and filet pop sticks were also excellent. And if you still have room get the carrot cake. Also my wife paid which made my experience perfect lol Amazing food, great service. This place makes life better!

Great ambience and staff! French onion soup is delicious. Loved the salmon as part of holiday menu. The brownie is the best I have had. Thank you very much.

If your looking for an impressive fine dining experience with amazing service and delicious food I would highly recommend Eddie Merlot's. From the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave the staff is welcoming and friendly. The ambiance and decorative touches are impressive. We did try the Trio of Medallions it was delicious. Perfectly cooked. The truffle fries were underwhelming and served with plain ketchup. The baked potato did have super smoky bacon cooked to perfection. When they offer you bread say yes. We were looking for a memorable meal for our last night in Boston and Eddie Merlots delivered. Our server Jae certainly took good care of us. Would absolutely recommend.

Google
Exceptional Dining Experience at Eddie Merlot’s Boston I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating the birthday of a great friend at Eddie Merlot’s in Boston, and I have to say — the entire evening was flawless from start to finish. When searching for the perfect steakhouse, several great options appeared, but I’m so glad we chose Eddie Merlot’s. What an amazing treat! We were greeted at the door by Selma, the hostess, whose warmth and kindness set the tone for the evening. She wished my friend a heartfelt happy birthday right away, making her feel genuinely special. While we waited briefly, Selma engaged us in such a pleasant conversation that it felt like chatting with an old friend — a rare touch of hospitality that instantly stood out. Our server, Benjamin, was just as remarkable. Despite having been there for a long 12-hour day, his professionalism and energy never wavered. He made every moment memorable — attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and sincerely passionate about ensuring we had a great experience. We ordered the Tomahawk for Two with lobster, paired with a rich bottle of red wine, and started with the shrimp cocktail. Every bite was outstanding — the steak was cooked to perfection, juicy, and flavorful, while the lobster complemented it beautifully. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and chilled perfectly. To top it off, we shared the carrot cake, which was one of the best I’ve ever had — moist, rich, and perfectly spiced. As we were leaving, I realized I hadn’t asked Benjamin to take a photo of us. By chance, we ran into Selma again, who was literally on her way out for the night but stopped in her tracks and offered to take our photos — such a thoughtful gesture that made the evening even more memorable. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I can confidently say that Selma and Benjamin are shining examples of what true hospitality looks like — genuine, attentive, and passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for their guests. Eddie Merlot’s Boston exceeded every expectation — from the atmosphere and service to the food and attention to detail. We’ll definitely be back soon. Keep up the phenomenal work!

Yelp
So delicious!! We went here last night for my fiancé's birthday and everything was very impressive. It was a Monday so the place wasn't busy at all. Our server was very friendly and efficient. I was absolutely in love with the bread, the French onion soup, and the shrimp and scallop entree. I was very excited that they had lobster mashed potatoes, but the lobster had a sweeter seasoning to it that wasn't my favorite. It was fantastically cooked and the mashed potatoes were so soft though. We were treated to a raspberry sorbet for his birthday. We aren't sweets people so sorbet is the perfect light option that we really appreciated!

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant (and bar) with a great happy hour menu. Lots of great choices and I landed on the FILET MIGNON SLIDERS. The were absolutely delicious. Tender with a tangy kick and boatload of fries. Top that off with a WOODFORD RESERVE OLD FASHIONED and you have a great start to the evening.

Yelp
I loved the ambiance here. The wait staff was super personable and helpful. I will be an "odd" review as I came for the "dine out boston" prix fixe menu to try their food. They did not have the "dine out" menu readily available, and said there was only one which my partner and I shared. With that being said, the caesar salad was possibly the best I've ever had, the crab-corn bisque was addictive. For a steakhouse, the filet mignon was lackluster. Maybe this is because I was a "dine out" customer... the mashed potatoes had no seasoning, and neither did the slightly-blanched green beans, so the main course was really underwhelming. We got their chocolate cake and creme brulee, which were both phenomenal. Definitely would try this place again with the regular menu.

Yelp
We sat at the bar on a Thursday evening at 4. Alejandro at the bar was outstanding. Service was excellent. He made some amazing espresso martinis. The bar is large with plenty of seating. We ordered ahi tuna wantons, filet mignon potstickers and a crab avocado cocktail to eat. These were on the happy hour menu and a great value. This is close walk to the Omni Hotel and would highly recommend it.

Yelp
Highly recommend Eddie Merlot's! The food was absolutely delicious! The restaurant is gorgeous inside. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave some great recommendations for dessert. The carrot cake WAS SO GOOD! Definitely get it when you come here. I'm already planning my next trip here and my mouth is watering just thinking about that carrot cake!

Yelp
Classic steakhouse that serve decent food. We got the lunch menu - the crab and corn bisque and steak was great with mushroom. The calamari was alright, not the best that I've had. The service was a little slow but our server was friendly. There are ample seatings and the interior felt like a normal steakhouse. Value: 7/10 Food: 7.5/10 Experience: 7/10 Service: 7/10

Yelp
This was hands-down one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had -- and the fact that this restaurant presents itself as fine dining makes it borderline insulting. We first ordered a shrimp cocktail appetizer that was completely forgotten. Not delayed. Forgotten. And we wouldn't have known why, because our waitress did not check on us once during the 40 minutes we sat there waiting for our meals. No updates. No acknowledgment that we were still waiting. When she finally came over with only our entrees, she acted genuinely surprised that the appetizer hadn't come out yet -- which is astounding, considering monitoring tables is literally the baseline expectation at a fine dining restaurant. When the entrees finally arrived, it somehow got worse. I ordered my steak medium rare. What arrived was so raw it bordered on absurd. I've eaten steaks from Applebees with more care. It was bloody, undercooked to the point of being inedible, and frankly felt like it had been rushed out just to cover up the delay. I joked that I needed to stab it again to make sure it was actually dead -- but the joke wore off quickly when I realized this was supposed to be a premium dish. Fine dining is about attention to detail, pacing, service, and quality. This place failed at every single one. If this is their standard, they should seriously reconsider the label -- and their prices. Save your money. Eat somewhere that actually respects its customers.

Yelp
Second time is a charm! Eddie Merlot's is one of those Boston restaurants that you frequent over and over again. It's probably one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever been in. This is our second time here. We stopped in for a drink and app. after shopping at the Snowport. We sat at the almost empty and very quiet bar. I ordered their Gruet Sparkling Brut from New Mexico. Probably one of my faves! My hubby had their Daou Cabernet, another favorite of mine. We shared a wedge which they kindly split. We then shared their sliders from the lounge menu which is very inexpensive compared to their full menu. Our bartender Grace was such a joy. Thanks Eddie Merlot's for your gorgeous bar and comfy seats, impeccable service and food and good times. We will be back again soon!

Yelp
I came here for New Year's eve and I did not have the best experience. The employees were Unaccommodating (could be cause management not sure). Also the servings here are very small so be prepared to order a few things to get full. Someone in my party has an allergy to sesame seeds and it was not listed on the appetizer we ordered and instead of attempting to make it right the manager said we are stuck with it and they wont remake it or let us get another appetizer without paying for it. I felt very unwelcome there and felt like a bother anytime I asked for anything. The food itself was decent but for the service and atmosphere there I probably would never return nor recommend this to others. The place itself is gorgeous but has a very unwelcoming feel to it. The server we had was nice and tried her best but I think it's an issue with management.

Yelp
Excellent food, beverages & service. This place was a gem... right near the Westin/Omni at the Convention Center.

Yelp
A generous 2 stars because the food was good. Not great, but good. Service was a complete disaster. She was friendly and nice, but she was not anywhere near seasoned enough, or trained well enough, for this caliber restaurant. Or, at least for what they want this place to be. The bartender was also not very well-trained, and drinks took forEVER to get to us. Even the wine, which I ordered during starter, but that arrived half way through my steak. I almost sent it back, but just took it. Finally, the place is decent looking, but it was ridiculously hot, in middle of July. I asked manager what was going on and was told the building had an electrical issue. Huh? Lights were all on. Air came on now and then.... whatever. Table next to us complained about rice and steak temps. The manager challenged them on it and claimed he personally made the rice and knew it was good. Seriously? They asked for food to go and just left rather than fight him. The place was pretty empty on a Saturday night, prime time. Says a lot. I would NEVER return and would recommend going somewhere, anywhere else.

Yelp
I had just gotten into town and my hotel was across the street, so I popped by upon hearing they had a good happy hour. The main entrance was closed so you had to enter in front of the bar. There were only two other people at the bar and the only employee I saw was the bartender. There was no welcome or anything so I just took a seat at the bar. He saw me come in, but it took him a while to come by, and again only two other people in the entire restaurant. The service is why I only gave it 4 stars. Which means, everything else impressed. What the bartender lacked in welcoming and customer service, he made up for in making a darn fine French 75. I am a big fan of this particular cocktail, it was on their happy hour menu, and it was perfect. If you have had one, you know, it isn't supposed to be sweet. It is gin, lemon juice, enough simple syrup to take away the sharpness, and topped with sparkling wine. I've typically had it served in a champagne flute, I was a little worried when he rimmed a martini glass in turbinado sugar, but the man knew what he was doing. It was perfectly balanced. The glass was chilled. It made me happy. And then ... The tuna wontons came out. I have had different iterations of this dish, and this may have been the best. They put an impressive amount of tuna on their fried wontons and that wasabi cream sent it over the top. This ended up being my dinner, when I just came in for a snack. This ended up being one of my very favorite things I had on my vacation.

Yelp
I came here specifically for their happy hour menu, which starts from 4 PM to 6 PM. I arrived at 4:15 PM and there was actually nobody at the front, the host was busy on the phone and didn't see me, not even a bartender so I sat myself down at the bar. I waited about five minutes and finally someone came to get my order. The bartender gave me the regular menu at first, but I had to ask for the happy hour menu. Barry White martini - nice and strong, a little bit sweet but still liked it. Definitely will order again next time. Lobster roll - $20 - I was pleasantly surprised and I actually liked this lobster roll a lot. It came on a toasted buttered bun. They mixed the lobster meat with butter, which was very good. The lobster meat was fresh and very good portion. They split the bun in half so I can't really tell if it's a full size or a little bit smaller. The homemade chips were nice fresh and hot and paired well with the ketchup. For $20 this is actually a pretty good deal. The ambience gave off a fine dining feel. Bar was clean and bar seats were very comfortable. Overall, will definitely come visit again to try out their other happy hour items.

Yelp
I liked the vibe /style when we first walked in. I was surprised it wasn't very busy. Our party of 5 was seated at a strange table by itself but with a bussing station right next to it so it felt of putting. Our server was nice enough but not very attentive. Our table for 5 only had 4 water glasses and only 3 settings had butter knives. Our bread came after our appetizer. Bread was great. We started with calamari and it was good. The drinks we ordered from the bar were good. Spicy margarita and berry martini. Everyone ordered their steaks medium except I ordered mine medium rare. Husband and teen son got the wagyu filets and the rest of us got the regular filets. Mine came over more medium well to well. She didn't ask how they came out so after a while when we had to flag her down to ask where our sides were I mentioned the steak. She did offer to get me a new one but I let her know I didn't want to eat after my family finished so I'd keep it but the kitchen should be made aware. Things were already going slow. It took almost 20 more minutes for the sides to come out. Baked potato was big and kids liked it. Truffle fries tasted good but were not hot. The au gratin potatoes were very oily. We asked for another bottle of water and drinks for the kids and that took quite a bit of time. Desserts were good. We did table side brownie, chocolate cake (which is massive) and ice cream. Also added in espresso martinis. The martinis were so/so. The peppercorn sauce is great. Everyone else said their steaks were cooked properly and were tender. The manager did come over and acknowledge we had an issue and comped us my steak, the sides and a few of the desserts. I can appreciate there will always be an off night and I can appreciate the manager making it right w the comps and I give love when a place owns their shortcoming so I'm happy with the response - I'm just not sure I'd chance it again. It's a hefty price tag for a family of 5 to take the chance. So I'm not angry about the experience just not sure I'd try it again.

Yelp
Everything from beginning to end was a beautiful experience. I was invited here for a gender review. We had a private room with a wonderful server, Ben. He was very attentive to our needs, even had the air adjusted when we arrived (the room was a little chilly). The food was amazing, the string beans were my favorite. They were perfectly buttered and lightly seasoned. They didn't have an issue when I mentioned my food allergies. Ben made an alternate decision. Fine dinning at its finest at Eddie Merlot's. Thank you Ben for your excellent service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
This was our first time at the restaurant. We had high expectations that were quickly dashed starting with service... we ordered drinks and then went to order dinner and they were out of 8oz filet...how does a steak house run out of steak? We waited for 30 minutes for the salad and when it finally came we were also served the rest of our dinner. The steak was sub par and the garlic mashed tasted like oatmeal. The waiter the entire time was no where to be found until he presented us with the check. Suffice to say we will not be back.

Yelp
Food is outstanding. However, the service and atmosphere were lacking. Chowder, scallops and strip steak some of the best. Inside air temp very warm and uncomfortable. Restaurant was not busy at all and service was inconsistent. Soup was brought with no spoon until 5 minutes later. Server forget dinner wine. Presenting a wine glass with finger inside is unacceptable.
google avatar

Camille C.

Yelp
Fairly average - typical steak house. We were seated immediately. Our server started rather cold/stuffy but seemed to warm up to our table after a bit. Our meal came out as expected. The steaks were prepared very well. The carrot cake was icy, almost as if it was frozen. Parking next door in the ramp was convenient but expensive at $27.

Yelp
Food was fresh and good. Got the salmon. Had to send it back to cook it more well done. It could've been seasoned more but it wasn't bad .The pecan sweet potatoes casserole was A+. Yummy. The crab cakes were perfect yummy A+ on those. The fingerling potatoes & asparagus were normal, not bad .. The drinks were really good martini and mojitos were really sweet. I don't know if the bbq sauce on shrimp is a good move. The bacon should be well done wrapped around shrimp. Just my opinion. The service was A+. Great ambiance & a mix of neo soul & jazz music. The staff could be less inconspicuous walking. Around staring at u and the table to see if they can take your plate when ur done. Lol. Like they were following u around a store . But they were all nice and it wasn't packed so maybe they were just trying to keep busy.

Yelp
Went here for a double date! We ordered family style and shared the entire meal including the desserts. I don't remember if we had our parking validated but we did park in the garage nearby.

Yelp
Perfect fine, very reasonably priced steakhouse here in Boston. I was a little disappointed to not see any local options on the menu given that Boston is known as a seafood town. I had the Mojo Scallops &!Shrimp and it was cooked well and had a lot of flavor. Steaks that colleagues ordered looked good and were said to be good. The peanut butter cup dessert was not particularly sweet. Service was very good, of the stealthy and non-obtrusive variety which was perfect for our business meeting; thanks Koa! Ambience was very normal for a steakhouse, though the seats were shockingly rigid and upright in a way that felt downright unpleasant, like I was sitting in a church pew that had some padding. Maybe I have just been to a few too many high end steakhouses recently, but this place was good but nothing jumped off the menu at me as "you must try this!" or really blew my mind, but it was still really good for the category and did everything right. Yelp
The food is consistently delicious, and the service is outstanding. While we've only ever been served by Philip, he's a big part of why we keep coming back--along with the amazing food. I would give the atmosphere a five but some of the aesthetics are jarring--- bathroom tile artwork.
google avatar

Yelp
The service was great! The drinks were decent. I tried the Mosquito and the Berry White ( get the Berry White!) The food was just ok. The king crab and corn bisque was a bit curdled and turned my stomach later that night. The crab cakes, seabass and steak were ok. The sweet potato casserole and banana foster were delicious.

Ernie D.

Yelp
It took 2 1/2 hours just to get a salad. Then another 30 minutes for the entree and yet another 20 minutes for dessert. Absolutely not worth the price! Skip it.

Yelp
Eddie Merlot's walking in was very cold the front desk did not seem to be welcoming. They treated me like an outsider. Sitting down I was placed in a two person table as that was a most fitting spot for me. I ordered the sixty south salmon as a project to find the best salmon I could in Boston. Having the name Eddie Merlot meant that I would receive something of high quality and unique. Although as I would find out would be quite the opposite being that I received something that was terrible and did not fit the standards of the restaurants name. My waiter Anthony was passive and seemed out of place. They two treated me like an outsider for which is why their restaurant was mostly empty. The worst part about Anthony was him chasing me out the door for a bigger tip. Although tips are optional I gave them a good tip but he thought it was appropriate to chase me telling me tip more. Which was totally inappropriate and unmannered. The whole Eddie Merlot experience was a terrible joke that no one should go here. Be advised by their name for now this location should be revised to fit their standards or be shutdown. As for a medium end restaurant there should be a great amount of detail and mannerisms involved.

Yelp
"OH WOW" -- is what I kept repeating as I was eating the best steak of my life!! I've been to a lot of high end steakhouses in and outside of Massachusetts, but the chateaubriand I had here takes the cake of my favorite steak EVER. My husband and I came here for his birthday and we ordered the "chateaubriand for two," medium-rare. It was the most perfect medium-rare I've ever had at any restaurant; not raw at all nor over-cooked, just silky-smooth velvety steak that you don't even need teeth to eat. The flavor and texture was just incredible. Our side dishes were much more average - creamed spinach that had great flavor but was not as "creamy" as I prefer and mashed potatoes that were good but nothing special. BUT THAT STEAK!! It was worth every penny/calorie. The chateaubriand is definitely a must-try for steak lovers - highly recommended!

Yelp
This is our go-to restaurant, and we've been to this location countless times. The food is consistently great, and the service is good. However, one funny observation: the store manager started out as a very friendly and welcoming person, but after being trained by a senior manager with a colder demeanor, the store manager's attitude shifted. It seems the senior manager might have influenced him to adopt a less warm approach, possibly to avoid customers taking advantage. To be honest, we've visited dozens of steakhouses, and we've never taken advantage of any of them. A warm and welcoming attitude is what keeps customers coming back. We loved the store manager during his first week because of his friendliness, but his demeanor changed after following the senior manager's advice. Unfortunately, it was bad advice. The senior manager's outdated approach is not suitable anymore, and it's doing more harm than good. He should focus on sharing his experience without passing along a negative attitude. A welcoming environment is key to customer loyalty.

Yelp
I came here for a Caymus 5 course meal wine pairing dinner. The restaurant is on an upscale vibe. It's is very clean and nicely decorated. The food was great with good size portion. The drink menu is decent and well crafted . The service was good and our waiter was nice and attentive

Yelp
Great ambiance and food. Service was just ok. Chilean sea bass was very well cooked and seasoned. Lobster mashed potatoes were worth it. Filet Del Mar was also pretty good. My husband enjoyed his espresso martini. My son enjoyed the filet and house made chips from the kids menu. Dessert was very generous in portion size and it was out of this world. The chocolate cake was very chocolatey and dense. It could have fed all three of us. The turtle cheesecake was enough for two and also very rich and delicious.

Yelp
The food was good came out for a birthday celebration. Our waiter was friendly and made good suggestions, the decor was nice and it was quiet love the chandeliers and Christmas decor.

Yelp
As it is with Burlington MA and Englewood, CO locations, the food was impeccable. The sashimi was like butter and we had the Branzino and Baked Stuffed Shrimp- both were delicious. My one issue and biggest pet peeve is assuming my husband was paying when returning my credit card and putting it in front of him - look at the name and don't assume.

Yelp
Visited the seaport for a weekend and not having done my research, we quickly found out you must make reservations everywhere we stopped. Luckily for us, we found Eddie's Marlot! Our dining experience was outstanding, we loved everything about it, ambient, drinks, food & service. We sat in the back, it was nice and quiet perfect romantic dinner for two. Their wine selection is insane! If you're into wine it's a must. Our server Juan was awesome. He was very attentive to us and all his tables as fat as we could see. I just can't say enough about how delicious our meal was from the appetizers to the main course to finally coffee and the dessert. Be advised, excellent food, wine and service comes at a high price, but so worth it...

First of all we were greeted by my favorite waiter Damani! He certainly knows how to brighten our day! His service is impeccable, aside from that, our food was so delicious & filling we had to take the rest to go. Good prices on their happy hour, highly recommend, go early, have a few drinks with their small bites menu, and if you have room order more!

Yelp
I dined here for a birthday outing. The cedar plank sixty south salmon was delicious. The Caesar salad was very fresh. The creme brulee was also delicious. I ordered two drinks the blue berry mojito and rose punch. The rose punch was my favorite of the two. The service was very nice. We went on a Tuesday night so it wasn't busy at all which allowed for a quiet evening. We had a single window facing table as well which made for a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend. Eddie Merlot lives up to the hype indeed.

Yelp
Read as 3.5 stars. Upscale dining, extensive wine and liquor menu, and all the classic dishes of a steakhouse offered. Oysters and filet mignon were excellent. Placed 2 orders for the potstickers, while the first order came out with plenty of sauce the 2nd order came out with hardly any sauce. The crab and corn chowder had no crab and tasted heavy of butter and cream and not much else - hard pass. I think this is somewhat of a new restaurant and really want to give it a chance, hence the somewhat higher rating. The service was a heavy miss and I am unsure if it is because they are understaffed but some of the basics expected at a fine dining establishment were missing. Plates, glasses and extra placement were not cleared, we weren't asked if we wanted another round of drinks, server did not pay attention to the orders so we had to flag him down for missing items - the list goes on. I really hope this establishment addresses some of the issues of growing pains, it does have a lot of potential.

Yelp
Visited here for dinner over the holiday season and really enjoyed it! We sat in the lounge (by the bar), which was a little more laid back (Celtics game playing on several TVs) than the other side of the restaurant. The tableside bread is delicious!!! Very warm and fresh, seasoned well and served with salty butter. For apps we ordered the filet mignon potstickers and the Maryland crab cakes. I thought the potstickers were average, but the crab cakes were excellent. They were FULL of crab (minimal breading), and went perfectly with the Cajun remoulade on the side. I ordered the trio filet medallions (Oscar style, peppercorn sauce, and bacon Gorgonzola). I thought all 3 pieces were tender, temperature was perfect, and had unique flavor profiles- I don't think they're 4 oz each though (you'll be able to eat it all, was NOT a full 12 oz). Service was great, the atmosphere was fun and lively for a Friday night, I would definitely return here.

Yelp
It was a merry Christmas dinner at Eddie Merlot's! We had reservations but still had yo wait about 10 minutes and we asked to be seated in the lounge area because the hubs wanted to watch the basketball game on lol! They brought bread to the table - it was a round fluffy loaf cut into quarters- very soft and warm and had some seasoning on it and came with softened butter. Was really fresh and tasty thought I could've done without the extra seasoning. I ordered the South story salmon (cedar plank roasted) which came with a side of green beans and fingerling potatoes. Apparently this was Antarctic salmon which was very interesting! I've had Atlantic, Norwegian, even Alaskan salmon but Antarctic is a first for me. I had visions of penguins among the fishermen as they were fishing the salmon lol! But the hubs said it was probably salmon that swam up and were fished along South America. Well who knows! It tasted great is what I definitely know ha ha! Perfectly cooked not overdone at all as sometimes salmon can be overcooked or sometimes one end is perfect tender but as you get through it the texture gets more tough and I get tired of eating it. This one was perfect through and through! I also liked that it came with a wedge of lemon and I squeezed that over everything and it brightened up the flavors. I had to add a few twists of fresh ground black pepper just coz it was really mildly seasoned. The green beans were cooked perfect crisp tender and the potatoes were just right too. I really enjoyed this dish thoroughly from start to finish - mmmm yummy!! The hubs ordered the filet mignon and a side of broccoli and he thought it was tasty. The broccoli was perfectly cooked too. Service was great from the hostess to the waiter. Our waiter was especially nice didn't catch his name. The decor is great very tasteful with artwork on the walls and Christmas decor of course. The lounge can get a bit cold when the door opens and closes but it wasn't too bad. Overall a great dinner with warm service on a cold Christmas night. Great experience, highly recommend!

Yelp
When I saw that this restaurant had A5 wagyu beef from Japan, I had to try this place out. This month, I ordered some takeout from this restaurant. I got the filet mignon potstickers, Eddie's clam chowder, Miyazaki A5 wagyu new york strip(4 oz), macaroni and cheese, and the peanut butter cup for dessert. The filet mignon potstickers were good but the clam chowder was too watery for my taste. The A5 wagyu beef was a total disappointment. The meat was very chewy. The accompanied seaweed also had a very fishy smell. The side of macaroni and cheese tasted better. Out of all the things, the peanut butter cup tasted the best. It was like peanut butter mousse in between two layers of graham cracker crust with caramel and chocolate ganache and a side of whipped cream.

Yelp
We have another steak house entry in the market... and it's a serious player. We had a fantastic dinner here and look forward to returning. Parking is tight in the Seaport area... no problem here, park in the huge parking structure next door, validate ticket at the restaurant with a sticker... $15. They did a fine job with the decor and tabletop, definitely presenting a high end feel. Service, our waiter was Ben, is attentive and management is present on the floor. Very comfortable space.... and the bar area is really nice too. The Chow: Sweet & Spicy Shrimp... very good, perfect for sharing. Oysters Rockefeller... my wife wasn't thrilled. French Onion Soup... excellent, broth on the sweet side. The highlight of the night... The Chateaubriand for 2... a 20 oz. center cut beef tenderloin that was perfectly cooked and sliced at the table. Ordered MED and came out more of a Med Rare... the quality was so good it didn't matter... was great! Mac & Cheese... good. Mashed Potatoes... great. Brussel Sprouts... great. The mac and the mashed were on the small side by steakhouse standards. Creme Brulee for dessert was a nice rendition. Wine list is good... well chosen wine by the glass and a fine selection by the bottle. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Yelp
Excellent service and a great happy hour menu. The burger was the best I have had in a while. Sat at the bar and the bartender was great with service and conversation. I would recommend you give it a try.

Yelp
The experience in this Eddie Merlot's was far, far below the one in Denver. So-so steak which I can prepare as well at home and the pound of crab legs (which only amounted to about a half pound) tasted less than fresh. The lobster and corn chowder was the high point of the meal and was excellent. The service was so-so and the few waiters they had were too busy to take proper care of everyone. The ambianceonly so so as well.

First time here and we will be back again. Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere. The drinks were perfect! We came in close to closing time and were still greeted and seated like they just opened. We got so lucky to be taken care of by the great Damani. Super welcoming and accommodating to any thing you might want to change. I love when a bartender knows there stuff! Great recommendations. Overall we are so happy we stopped in.Are you still reading? Get to Eddie Merlots !!!!!!

Yelp
A super beautiful and elegant restaurant with great dining service! It feels like stepping into a ballroom because the flooring and the space was just so classy and clean. THEIR Crème brûlée IS TO DIE FOR. I normally don't go to fine dining places because I'm broke but I came here for the Dine Out Boston experience. The Dine Out Boston Lunch menu is $46 dollars and I chose the King Crab Bique appetizer, Salmon entree, and Creme Brulle dessert. King Crab & Corn Bisque - 10/10 This knocked me off my expectations, it couldn't stop drinking this it was so so good! It tasted kind of like a really clean and fresh corn chowder and the King Crab adds a nice touch and meat to it. The Bisque itself does not taste fishy at all and I love this a lot. I have no idea what Bisque even means it tasted like good soup. Salmon Entree -8/10 I felt so healthy eating this lol! It was overall a bit bland for me, it seemed like everything was just seasoned with salt and pepper. The green beans never looked greener and the potatoes were nice and crispy! A lot of appreciation for the cook on the fish, I asked for medium and it was perfectly soft and fall apart in my mouth! The fish was humongous and this entree was so filling! Honestly very good macros if you are a fitness person lol. I would have liked a little more seasoning on the potatoes and the green beans. Crème brûlée - 100000/10 Omg omg omg omg omg omg omg. I love Crème brûlée but this is the best I ever had! It is so perfectly creamy and rich and the level of sweetness is just PERFECT. The sugar crust just gets me so excited look at the crackle it had! A perfect thin sugar crust goes so well with the custard. The crust didn't taste burnt at all either! A perfect golden brown. I also love the raspberries because it just goes so well with the heavy sugary custard. A little fruit to combat the sugar lolol Overall, I really really enjoyed the food and the ambiance here. Our server so nice and checked up on us frequently. They poured our water for us every time even though they gave us the whole bottle. I guess this is the fine dining experience lolol. For the Dine Out Boston experience, they brought out each dish perfectly timed and I was absolutely STUFFED. For $46 I would say that all of the dishes and the experience was a great deal! Great great service and amazing space.
