A Night of Celebration
We were invited to Eddie Merlot’s to celebrate our friends’ promotions. Entering the parking lot was easy, with ample space and a clean, well-kept area. As we approached the main entrance, we were warmly greeted by the host, who was polite and kind.
Inside the dining room, amber lighting and white linen tablecloths create a traditional steakhouse ambiance. While slightly dated, it exudes classic charm. We were guided to our table, where our friends were already seated, patiently awaiting our arrival.
We were seated in the “Godfather” chairs, which were comfortable and spotless. Our waitress was friendly, candid at times, and overall attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the evening.
As the night progressed, our drinks arrived—heavy-handedly poured. While enjoyable, a more balanced pour would have allowed us to savor the flavors rather than feel overwhelmed.
Appetizers followed. The waygu dumplings were absolutely delicious, but the calamari was disappointing—greasy with a breading that didn’t impress. We also tried a dozen fresh oysters, which fell short of expectations: small, not deveined, and not as fresh-tasting as we had hoped.
For the main course, I ordered the 16 oz prime ribeye and my fiancee did the Australian Wagyu and it did not disappoint. The cook was beautiful as both of us took our steaks medium rare. The sides were generous enough to share with my fiancée. To finish, we had the crème brûlée, which was a perfect ending to a celebratory evening. Our waitress surprised us with a special treat, preparing Bananas Foster tableside with dramatic flames and a sprinkling of cinnamon that filled the air with delightful sparks.
Eddie Merlot’s offers a classic steakhouse experience, making it an ideal spot for a couples’ night out or a special celebration.
