"A husband-and-wife team just opened a diner in west Plano with all-day breakfast. Eddie’s Dinner is located at 4709 Parker and it’s open every day for breakfast and lunch, Dallas Culturemap reports. There’s all the usual suspects, along with popular items like Swedish pancakes and “skillets” loaded with hash browns, eggs, sausage, peppers, cheese, and more." - Adele Chapin

Oh Eddie!!! Where have you been all my life!!! I've been missing out. Your pancakes are a love letter! Yes they are good enough to warrant the purple prose! They were perfectly cooked. There was that bit of crunch mixed with the softness. The spinach salad was excellent. Great chicken. The chicken fried steak was a hit as well. Great service. It's a cute place. Bonus: they are locally owned and they serve breakfast until closing. My only wish is that they were open a bit longer than 230, but then maybe they know the secret to any great romance is leaving one wanting more 💕💕

Google
Easily my 2nd favorite diner in Texas behind Morning Bliss. Food is delicious, service was excellent, atmosphere is comfy and quiet, and prices are rather affordable. Kind of wish they would extend their hours a little longer. Also reminds me a lot of the diners I’ve been to in Washington DC, which I can imagine being a cozy place to eat either during a rainy day and/or winter. I would highly recommend going here, but during the week when it’s not super busy.

Google
The Chicken Fried Steak was scrumptious! The CFS breakfast came with 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, and fruit. It was big enough for two of us to share and still have leftovers. The Avocado Toast was fresh and flavorful, too! Eddie was our great waiter: his shirt says I'm Eddie on the back. He's the namesake for Eddie's Diner.

We were in a hurry and the service was excellent. I forgot the servers name but she wore glasses and had short hair and was super sweet and got everything out quickly. Would come again just for her. Someone help me out with finding her name please . As for the food, I was craving smoked salmon and they DELIVERED.

Google
A very solid diner with reasonable prices. I got the Country Omelette and I can say their biscuits have great texture and their sausage gravy is well seasoned, not just thickened milk. My partner got the Sundae Waffle, and even though it was too sweet for my tastes, I really love how the dish was arranged.

Bf and I visited for a Monday brunch. Immediately the atmosphere was lovely, dim and smelled pleasantly of coffee. I got an orange juice, but it was very clearly Minute Maid. I paid almost $5 for it — the same amount of fresh squeezed at other places like Starwood or Pancake House. I would not get the orange juice again here. I got the Sundae Waffles and I overall enjoyed them. They’re a sugar overload, but that’s practically implied. My gripe was that the vanilla ice cream tasted odd and I actually pushed it aside. It didn’t taste like vanilla at all. Bf got the Country Omelette and he enjoyed it. I had a taste and can vouch that the sausage gravy was very good and he got a very large amount for his buck. Overall, I think I would return, keeping in mind the quality of a few of the things we tried today.

I gotta say service, food and ambience were great. Kudos to our server she was amazing. She definitely made her visit to be great. She was some point. Everything we order was good. Food was tasty. The restaurant was clean. We definitely be back.

Google
Food and service were excellent! We will be back. Went back with parents- Excellent food and service! We also met Eddie too! Wonderful time. We took our parents from out of town there and they really enjoyed the atmosphere. The coffee is really good and rich in flavor. Oh, they also have flavored creamers which is always a plus. If you go once, you will go back. God bless.

Yelp
I was in the area today and decided I wanted breakfast at a diner. Eddie's was the closest and I had never been there. They have a nice menu of breakfast and lunch items. They are open until 2:30 p.m. weekdays. I ordered the "Little Bit ($9.25)." Love the name. It was one egg, bacon or sausage, hash browns (I substituted for grits), and a choice of bread. My server, Tom said I made a good selection with the biscuit. He was right. It took about 10 minutes for my food to come out and it was hot. The bacon was perfectly cooked (I hate soggy or crispy hard bacon), the biscuit was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, and the grits were the perfect consistency (no lumps). I normally have leftover food when I eat, but this amount of food was just what my stomach wanted. The hostess greeted me with a smile and seated me quickly. Tom was a great server and was helpful and friendly. Definitely, a great place for breakfast and I plan to return.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for some place new for Saturday morning breakfast and found Eddie's. We like the diner type atmosphere and they do it well. The service was good and got our food out quickly while they were fairly busy. I got the chicken fried chicken and biscuits and my wife got one of their skillets and grits. Both our meals were good. I will get the pancakes next time as they looked pretty good.

Yelp
We have been in Plano for a long time and somehow we overlooked this neighborhood favorite. One day we noticed a line in front of Eddie's, then every time we passed we noticed the line again, over and over. So, one recent Saturday morning we decided to brave the crowds and go see what Eddie's is all about. The lines are so long that one brilliant young entrepreneur was selling lemonade to the waiting patrons. Two of us had the salmon benny, and it was exceptional. If you're saucy and like benedict sauce on every bite like me, be sure to ask for extra. Plus, the hash browns are perfectly made. Shredded potatoes brown and crispy on the outside yet still tender on the inside. Coffee was thick, smooth and delicious! The avocado toast was plentiful. Sorry it took us so long to find you, but we'll be regulars now that we know.

Yelp
Long over due review but I really enjoyed this place when I visited Texas. Great food and great environment. I came here specifically for the biscuits and DID NOT disappoint! Yeehaw :D

Yelp
Thank you, Lydia! You and your staff were amazing and you all were patient and really took care of my family. I want to say thank you to our servers Tommy and Itrinia (I believe). They were very patient and waited on us like true professional in the hospitality game. We all enjoyed the food and atmosphere but most importantly y'all made us feel at home. Again, thank you!
google avatar

Yelp
I'd definitely return to eat here again. Everyone was receiving food that really looked good. No wifi. It was busy, but they had plenty of staff to handle it. Not the biggest place but the strip mall parking is a plus. We both ordered the chicken fried steak dinner, comes with 2 sides. It was really, really good and was hand breaded. It was super crispy, but way tender inside and the mashed taters were for real. I also had 2 buttermilk biscuits that I thoroughly enjoyed. Total food coma after all that. At 15 bucks, I'd do it again every day if I could!

Yelp
Tommy was an awesome server at our countertop seats this morning. I went with the Granny's skillet and it was delicious and filling. I ended up bringing home the biscuits as I just could not anymore food in my belly. If you haven't been, you should. Might be a little wait but they move you through quickly.

Yelp
First timer- Food was good, coffee cup Never empty. The server was attentive and not pushy nor negligent. The place was crowded but I could hear the others at my table speak. Place has a nice vibe. Will be back

Yelp
Gotta love a good mom & pop establishment. I've been hearing about this local breakfast spot for a couple of years but just visited for the first time today. We called ahead and had our names placed on the call ahead waitlist (15-20 minute wait expected). By the time we arrived and checked in, we only had a two minute wait. Staff is well trained & very attentive. We started with coffee & a latte. After looking at the food on other tables, we decided to split the all meat omelette. It came with your choice of sides. We selected fruit & pancakes. All was delicious. The pancakes were light and fluffy. Not sure what kind of syrup they had but I need to find out. It was excellent. Do yourself a favor and try this awesome little breakfast/lunch establishment.

Yelp
Tried something different today and it was delicious. The ham was pretty thick cut with lots of flavor and the bacon was crispy. Eggs were poached perfectly with just the right amount of hollandaise sauce. Hash browns were crispy and too plentiful to eat them all. They have Mt Dew fountain which is a bonus. Always busy and bustling on a Sunday morning so you need to arrive early if you don't want to wait. Luckily there is almost always a spot at the counter for a single. Waitress was friendly and attentive and the kitchen is always super fast with your order!!

Erin C.

Yelp
Love this breakfast spot! Friendly people and great food! The portions of food are pretty large so there's always left overs to take home. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
You really get the bang for your buck here! My fiancé and I shared an entree and we were both extremely full! Your entree usually comes with your choice of grits, fruits, pancakes or toast. We obviously chose the best option, pancakes, and man were we satisfied! The service was good! The busboy cleaned the tables really well and he did it fast. The hostess helped us whenever our server wasn't around. The small complaints that I have are that my soft scrambled eggs was still little runny and the hasbrowns tasted like it was cooked in old oil.
google avatar

Ralph J.

Yelp
Excellent food. AND A LOT OF IT. It's a nice atmosphere with very friendly staff. The prices are very reasonable. The last time I was here, I couldn't finish the omelet it was so big, but it was awesome. Today, I just had the sausage and eggs with hashbrowns and pancakes. There must have been 2 potatoes worth of hashbrowns. My wife had to have a takeout box for her omelet. We highly recommend.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Reliable, basic but tasty food. We takeout from there very often but dining in isn't too family friendly. Pleeeeeeease get a changing table in your restroom!

Yelp
Sweet staff, great food, good price! This is our favorite go to breakfast place in our area.

Yelp
Y'all - this place is IT for Plano folks! It's a clean, nice atmosphere and service was great. We had Lauren as our waitress and she was so attentive! What a kind soul - I always love having sweet waitresses and hope we made her day a little better as well! Honestly all of our food was phenomenal. We ate every last bit and will definitely come back & do it again :)

Yelp
This little diner is adorable! Well it's not little - it's rather large. But that doesn't stop it from feeling like a cozy diner with the warm/kind waitstaff, the fragrance of drip coffee and the delighted chatter of the patrons. You can tell it's a place for regulars, especially given how packed it was on a rainy morning the day before Thanksgiving. Bf got the Fiesta skillet with hash extra crispy - they were, indeed, delightfully crisp. And we were delighted to see that they did not skimp on chorizo - or avocado. And the eggs were perfectly sunny. The biscuits are also absolutely scrumptious - they're piping hot and nice and fluffy. They were a little salty for me, especially with the butter, but perfectly pillowy and I couldn't stop eating. Bf loved them to bits. I had 3 Swedish pancakes served with lingonberry jam, butter and diner-style maple syrup (the imitation with corn syrup, not the real one). The syrup is not needed, and dare I say the butter isn't either. The jam is perfectly tart and sweet and compliments the custardy pancakes perfectly. Will ask for more berries next time but this is 100% my new traditional order at this place. And the bf has man y more savory dishes to explore. Safe to say Eddie's has earned two new regulars. :)

Yelp
We are regulars of Eddies! Truly feel like family when we come. We have never had a bad experience with food or staff except when our favorite waitress left. But we appreciate the manager coming around and saying hello or asking how we are. Just a cool vibe and we love the cow decorations during Christmas time. Please make it out to enjoy the chicken and waffles, the amazing grits and hash browns and the skillets!!!!! But most of all, best biscuits in the DFW metroplex! Challenge me if you want to!

Yelp
Great service. Great food. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. We had hot food on the table faster than a scalded cat.

Yelp
If you want a small town feel in big ol' Plano, I recommend Eddie's Diner. Went there today for the first time. It was perfect. Friendly staff, food served hot, tasted great, attentive waitress. I got the chicken fried steak skillet: wow. Delicious. My wife got the meat lovers omelette- she loved it. Many places make their omelets so that they come out with that dark greasy exterior, not this place . The pancakes were perfectly fluffy. Definitely recommending it, and coming back

Yelp
I have a bit of a hangup paying for breakfast/brunch because I "short order cook" brunch for me and my husband every weekend at home - sometimes both days. I am good at brunch. I rock at brunch. So I never have high hopes when it comes to breakfast/brunch places and I know I am likely to have that "I can make all of this better at home" feeling. Soooo, that being said? Eddie's is the best breakfast I've had out in a long, LONG time. Hooray! Mom got Avocado Toast. It came on a giant piece of marbled rye with tomatoes, everything seasoning, a MASSIVE amount of avocado, all topped by a beautifully soft egg. Nice side of fruit, too. She loved it. I got the Fiesta Skillet (chorizo, red onion, avocado, jalapenos, pepper jack) with eggs scrambled and a side of buttered wheat toast. This was GOOD. Wow so good. All the skillet ingredients together were freaking delicious, the eggs were fluffy, and - *gasp* - the hash browns were crispy. I thought they were really medium cooked at first but the crisp was all across the hash browns on the bottom of the skillet. Asked for some hot sauce at the table and they had Cholula. Nice. I tossed everything together and enjoyed every bite. I normally don't care much about ambiance, but I really dug this place. Bright and busy, but with good acoustics, so we were able to comfortably sit and chat after without feeling like we were fighting a loud room. Service was super nice. Prices are just fine - paid $42 with tip for two plates and two coffees. We will definitely come back!

Yelp
It was Saturday morning at 10 am and it was PACKED! I'm talking line out the door. I think that should tell you how good this place is. They serve a healthy portions at a great price!

Leigh U.

Yelp
Pancakes and sausage. Can't not order this every time I come. Just fluffy and large and so good! Our server Tommy is great at his job- super friendly and helpful and patient! By far my favorite breakfast place!

Shaukat K.

Yelp
Went to Eddie's for the first time during the mid day rush hour. The place was full, including seating at the bar. But, I got lucky and had a seat within about 3 minutes. Service was prompt and warmly friendly, as befits the image of an "old school Texas diner." Having said that, and I lived in SE Texas for a few years (job related), this is no "greasy spoon diner." It has casual decor featuring Longhorn portraits, which I like as a UT grad . Perhaps this is unique in Plano? The clientele was, for the most part, definitely of an older generation who are likely locals who had discovered this neighborhood gem. I ordered a simple breakfast: eggs, hash browns, and toast. Eggs over easy were "just right," and the hash browns was the largest helping I've seen in years. It was also perfectly cooked: slightly golden on the outside but fully cooked through. The toast was actually toasted, not just "warmed up." And the coffee is excellent -- not your typical "diner coffee." In short, I highly recommend Eddie's for "down home" friendly service and food prepared with care. And a bigger, better helping of hash browns than you might expect. I'll be back to try out a few other items on the extensive breakfast menu, although they also serve lunch including sandwiches and burgers.

Yelp
Best blueberry pancakes I've had. I would come back to this place purely to enjoy the pancakes again. They are so fluffy and big! The blueberry pancakes are dressed up with fresh blueberries and a blueberry drizzle, you don't even need syrup. I cannot rave enough. I'm only disappointed at the fact that I not from around town so it will be a while before I get to enjoy these pancakes again. My pancakes were part of the All American Sampler that comes with buttermilk pancakes (I upgraded to blueberry) and eggs with your choice or bacon or sausage. My scrambled eggs were nicely buttered and the sausage was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I forgot to get our severs name but I know she is from North Carolina. She was very nice. Thank you.

Yelp
Clean, good service. The atmosphere was cozy/diner feel. The French toast was amazing. Omelette was good and cheesy. Glad we went here instead of any chain around. They were quick and had plenty of staff.

Yelp
Once again I returned to Eddie's Diner, a storefront dinner in the Walmart Grocery Store Shopping Center(Preston Parker Crossing). No matter what I order or how I order it, the food arrives to perfection. Huge portions and a pleasant server(very important nowadays). If you are looking for a satisfying home cooked meal, set your GPS to Eddie's.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing Breakfast. Great service. I would say one of the best breakfast place I been to in a while. Not from here, but hope I make it back to Eddie's Diner

Yelp
Found this hidden gem on my trip to drop my wife for her medical procedure. Menu was great and price was good. Large portions. Loved the hash browns. Not greecy. One of the better bruch places in tx. Thresa was very sweet and kind. The ambiance was very nice. Make sure to stop in and try this place. No reservations. But call ahead 30 minutes out.
google avatar

Yelp
Finest diner in Plano! Hands down! Lydia and team are professionals. The food is always excellent. Little Bit is my favorite with more ordering combinations than you can imagine! Don't miss Plano's finest!!!
google avatar

Yelp
If you're in the mood for a classic American diner experience, Eddie's Diner is definitely worth checking out! The skillets were absolutely delicious - perfectly cooked eggs, crispy potatoes, and a great selection of toppings. And let's not forget about the biscuits - they were some of the best I've had in a long time! But what really made the experience special was the fantastic service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. And the ambiance was great too - the decor really captures that retro diner feel. Overall, I highly recommend Eddie's Diner for a tasty and enjoyable dining experience.

Yelp
I had a fantastic experience at Eddie's Diner! I was treated to a delightful breakfast that truly exceeded my expectations. The only minor letdown was that the pictures couldn't capture the incredible flavors of the food. The service was impeccable, creating a cozy diner ambiance. The food itself was bursting with flavor, leaving me eager to return for another visit. Can't wait to come back for more!

Sandeep G.

Yelp
Great place for "All Day Breakfast" but not limited to Breakfast. Good choices of sandwiches, burgers, etc. The prices are quite reasonable and considering the quantity of food, it is quite cheap. We ordered a Very Veg Omelet with Pancakes and Patty Sausage Eggs with Biscuits. Both come with a generous serving of hash browns or grits. The food comes fast and is cooked to perfection. The biscuit was soft and flaky and the pancakes were soft and fluffy. The sausages were cooked well and the coffee was hot and fresh. The service is prompt and the staff is very friendly and warm.

Carrie G.

Yelp
Food and service were so so good!!!! The chicken fried steak scramble with hash browns was delicious! Super cute & homestyle atmosphere!

Yelp
Great local spot that serves hell of a breakfast! Weve been to this spot 2 times because they offer gluten free pancakes and gluten free toast! The chef even accomodated for us to make gluten free french toast that was not on the menu. I think we found our regular breakfast restaurant in Plano

Yelp
Great little gem in the heart of Plano! Hubs and I visited late Saturday morning. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and seated immediately. We travel with a service dog, and the staff was very accommodating in seating us out of the way even though the dining room was mostly full. Our server was Brooke, and she was excellent! She asked if it was our first visit to Eddie's, and since it was, she made wonderful recommendations in various categories. She was friendly, funny, and helpful, and she took great care us. I had migas with hash browns as the side, and it was excellent. The portions were large, and I was so full, I wasn't hungry the rest of the day. My husband had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and the to-die-for biscuits. He said it was great, and he cleaned his plate. The next morning, we were still talking about our meal, so we went back to Eddie's to try more dishes! We were told we'd have a 20 minute wait to be seated, but they seated us in 10 minutes. Again, the staff was most accommodating to us and our dog. Adalina was our server, and she too was excellent. This time my husband had Eddie's omelet with chicken apple sausage, roasted red pepper, mushrooms, spinach, and mozzarella cheese, fresh fruit, and two biscuits. He really like the chicken apple sausage and said it was a nice touch. I had the mushroom Swiss burger, which is served on a brioche bun. Instead of fries, I chose the fresh fruit as my side. The burger was cooked to my specification, and it was tasty! We both enjoyed the delicious freshly brewed iced tea and even got some to go. Again, the portions were generous, and we not hungry for the rest of the day. We're glad to have found this wonderful establishment. Though the food was great both meals, it was the excellent and friendly service that impressed us most. Everyone we encountered was helpful, friendly, and warm, and that's something rarely seen these days with the workforce issues most employers face. Bravo, Eddie's Diner!
google avatar

Ashley N.

Yelp
The staff there was super friendly! The ambiance was your typical brunch setting that stimulated my nostrils as soon as I opened that magical door blowing ac down upon me. The food was spectacular and everything I could have asked for! The coffee was actually amazing as well! High five Eddie! I'd spend the night with you any night if you promise to make me breakfast in the morning!

Yelp
The roasted veggies Bennie: oh my, where has that been all my life! Not only was the eggs benedict elements perfectly executed, the veggies and hashbrowns were perfect. And the plating... wow!
google avatar

Sara C.

Yelp
What a cozy diner ^^ I came with my family and everyone enjoyed their dish ! I particularly got the chicken fried chicken with gravy on the side I cant believe it came with hashbrown and eggs! It was so much food ! Our waitress was super sweet and patient with us. The prices were reasonable Lots of seating inside with even seats at the bar facing the cooks
google avatar

Claire W.

Yelp
Not the best brunch in town, but Eddie's is reasonably priced and the portions are generous. The servers are also very nice and friendly. I've had the Monte Cristo and Oh La La Bennie. Both dishes were ok; taste factor is average. The croissant bennie was larger than I expected. The chicken fried steak was crispy. The regular pancakes are fluffy and light. If you get there around 9am on the weekend, you may be seated right away or have to wait a few minutes. There's definitely a line/wait at 10am. Plenty of parking in the lot. I've seen coupons in the Plano newsletter mailer; only good for M-F dining though. Next time I go back I'll have to order a sweet dish (pancakes, French toast) or a sweet & savory entree since sometimes you want a little of both.
google avatar

Patti K.

Yelp
We came in today and were told there was one table ahead of us. After three tables were sat, we asked when we would be sat and were told by the hostess that she was instructed to sit two tables that came in after us before us. We would be next. We didn't stay to find out. Eddie's is deadie to us.

Yelp
A great local diner in Plano offering a great great brunch and lunch menu at a good price. The food comes out quite quickly which is nice. This place is always busy. Good service and food.

Yelp
A go to place for us since they opened....! Always good to great food... There is a bit of family atmosphere at this place that kinda makes it special.... Another great experience today .... Exactly what I wanted Service fantastic I'm looking forward to it all morning ~ Food achieved expectations that I had coming over here..

Santanu S.

Yelp
Approaching the restaurant, I was concerned about the wait because folks were standing by the door inside. As it turned out, a section of the wait area was occupied by a table selling Girl Scout cookies. The counter was mostly free, so I chose to sit there rather than get on the waiting list. Unlike other restaurants, I noticed the diner had several interesting variations of oatmeal. I was tempted to get the Chunky Monkey Oatmeal but instead ordered the Swedish Crepes. Usually with crepes, I would pour enough syrup to reach saturation point. Since the crepes comes with lingonberries, no syrup was needed. I just applied the lingonberries to the crepes as if it was toast. The three crepes were not sufficient to satisfy my hunger. Fortunately, I ordered a side of bacon. While the bacon were cooked crispy and slightly brittle, fortunately they did not have the overcooked/burnt taste.

Neha H.

Yelp
Tried their stuffed challah french toast & roasted veggie benny! The stuffed french toast is the best.. will definitely fulfil all your cravings with the perfect amount of sweetness... So good and a must try! The roasted veggie benny was great too! And definitely the coffee was a great addition to wash everything down.. overall, had a great experience and will be back soon!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went to Eddie's for a nice lunch. We felt it was a nice smaller restaurant where it wasn't so noisy and we'd be able to hold a conversation. We were able to hold a conversation which was nice. This is only my second visit to Eddie's but I like the decorations at the restaurant. They manage to get decorations out for every holiday. Our waiter was very nice. Answering our questions about the soup, sandwiches, and breakfast items. We both wanted to try the soup so we ordered that and my friend ordered a turkey panini sandwich and I ordered a turkey sandwich. I ordered milk and the waiter asked me if I wanted with my meal. I jokingly asked him if he could handle it and he responded of course! He brought our soup out (it was a beef barley) and we were both disappointed. My friend compared it to hers. I've never made it but there was a lot of barley and not much else. You could see a couple little pieces of carrot and some little pieces of beef but it was definitely lacking. When our sandwiches came out the meat looked like it came out of a package of turkey from the grocery store. It could have at least been from the deli department and been sliced from a turkey choice there. My friend's choice was suppose to have some kind of cranberry spread on it. She thought it was going to have actual cranberries in it. The waiter said it was an aoli (sorry, I know that's the wrong spelling). When we looked at it later it had totally soaked into the bread. Not a very good presentation. She wasn't pleased or impressed and she said if or when she came again she would stick with the breakfast items. As far as my lunch, he forgot my milk after he promised there was no way he'd forget! We both laughed. But I felt sorry for my friend not being able to enjoy her lunch. I'll give them another try but I was definitely disappointed this time.

Crystal E.

Yelp
Food was good and freshly prepared, generous portions. Staff was great and very friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere is a little noisy as it is a diner and lots of conversations and various groups meeting for social eating.

Yelp
Service is amazing but the food is always just okay. The burgers are under salted. The Buffalo chicken sandwich is over sauced. The fries are crispy but have no flavor. Honey mustard dressing doesn't have flavor. It was all just....ok. But prices are good. Service is dependable. The kids always enjoy themselves...so we will keep it in the rotation. Just wish they'd try a little harder with food quality
