I know I might take some flak on this and that I shouldn't generalize or stereotype, but Germans seem to have traditionally been pretty darn good at three things: Beer, Sausages, and Bread. So, I'm rather bias when selecting my beers, sausages and breads but having such choices when it comes to foods of ethnic or cultural diversity is one of things that, to me, makes America so great. There isn't another country in the world as diverse or offers so much.
Edelweiss is more than just a bakery. It's a small market place and a café as well. They have all sorts of breads, some of them a Kassler, being a sourdough, a sour rye, multigrain, sunflower, dark cracked rye, rolls such a sesame, poppy and caraway, brezeles, pastries of all sorts, cakes and cookies. Then on their shelf section, mustards, sauce mixes, pickles and vinegars, and in their refrigerated section sausages, meats and jarred herrings amongst a number of other items.
Edelweiss is spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the café section where you can eat in, comfortable with a pleasant décor.
Some of the hits of Edelweiss are their scrambled egg breakfasts, their apple strudel, pretzels, and Black Forest Cake.
