Best Whiskey Bars in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Headed to the Fox for a Broadway show or a concert? Stop by Edgar’s Proof & Provision in the basement level of the Georgian Terrace Hotel across the street. There’s plenty of brown liquor to go around here and very strong whiskey cocktails, too. Order the firm handshake with Redemption Rye and fernet." - Beth McKibben

Our server was really nice and they had a good selection of items. The wings were great and the bacon was out of this world. I had the chicken quesadilla which didn’t wow me but it was ok. But we shared most of the food so it didn’t matter. The Pizza with Sausage and Pepperoni was very good. So was the salad with Salmon.

Google
Wasn't sure what to expect at the hotel bar. They can be hit or miss. The burger was flavorful. The drinks I had were all recommendations made by the bartender Toni, and they were delicious. Speaking of which, Toni's bubbly personality was a welcome surprise. Whatever y'all are paying that lady, it's not enough. I'll gladly return when I visit!

Google
Standard, overpriced pub food that’s in a good location before a show at the Fox! Food was acceptable, cocktails could use some improvements, and service was decent. As long as you know you’re getting a standard pub/dive bar experience you’ll have a great time. The ambience could use some upgrades though, it’s a bit standard.

Google
Toni with an I!!! What a bartender!! She made the best peach patron lemon drop!! Great recommendation and even better drinks!!

Tamarah Jordan

Google
Toni “with an I” is soooo amazing! Her own personal recipes for cocktails and created with love! Patron peach margarita! Her bartending skills are immaculate! Top Tier for sure!

Google
Perfect ending to a fun night, drinks & food at Proof & Provision. Lexi took great care of us making the most delicious & creative cocktails. P&P is so clutch for after shows at the Fox or anytime really, always great food & service. Thanks, again, Lexi! We’ll be back soon!

Google
I went to Proof & Provisions after a show at the Fox Theatre and had the most amazing experience. Lexi the bartender was fantastic. Her drinks and service were first rate. I highly recommend visiting Lexi at P&P!

Google
Nice little Bar attached to the Georgian Hotel. The bartender was so engaging. Just wonderful. Her name was Toni. Hopefully she’s there when you stop in. The Ahi Tuna Poke is fantastic.

Yelp
A great option for a quick bite/drink before a show at the Fox! Pretzel was delicious. Also had the hummus and burger. Everything came out quickly and service was good.

Yelp
This place is in the basement, well the lower level, of the Georgian hotel. The hotel is beautiful and this place is quaint and quiet. I wanted to check it out. It's actually a little difficult to get to. I think they would have bigger crowds if they had easier access directly from the street but it seems like they have that locked. Small but nice menu of small bar bites and craft cocktails. It's a very inviting space and the staff was welcoming though not inspiring bartenders. I was really hoping for a delicious old fashioned but they were out of bitters. I shifted gears, went for a Mezcal Mule. It was fine but not amazing. Menu said it was made with house made ginger beer and honestly, if you are going to that kind of effort, it just wasn't spicy and gingery enough. The smoky mezcal was nice so it was not a complete loss. It's fine. It's perhaps above average for a hotel bar but it's otherwise pretty average or just below for a cocktail bar. I'm not mad at the place it' has a ton of potential if you ask me. It just doesn't reach its potential. In full disclosure and fairness, I did not have any food.

Yelp
I'm really disappointed in this place. The drinks, when they came, were great. But our server was so slow that our appetizers took 30 minutes to arrive. We were here one hour before our Fox show and felt very rushed. We thought that because they were across the street from the theater they would understand about show times and service. It wasn't even very crowded. Many open tables. (Now I know why). The server did not care. We were not offered waters. She also had the personality of a brick. I lay the blame on her because I saw other tables with a different server get their food and drinks much faster. Obviously they don't employ Server Assist to help. No one checked on us for refills. Very disappointed at how we had to rush. Will not trust this place again before a show.

Yelp
Don't waste your money. Service takes forever if you sit at bar. Food is nothing to write home about. 18 percent gratuity added to check.
google avatar

Kevin I.

Yelp
Fantastic little pub in the lower level of the Georgian Terrace. So good we hit it up twice. The only knock I give it was on Saturday night they were running out of food and drink. Terry the manager and our server (whose name escapes me) treated us well and made for good company. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Keith G.

Yelp
service was fair. 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill for 2 people. Grilled cheese sandwich was mediocre - tasted off. Pickle was stale. Espresso martini overpriced. No soap in the bathroom.
google avatar

Claudia A.

Yelp
Came here for drinks and was very pleased. Overall a great spot with creative cocktails and classic ones too. Have tried the food in the past and it was great. Recommend it as a date spot or quick stop.
google avatar

Lalo B.

Yelp
Menu is limited and mixed drinks are over$15 each. This option is only viable if you're checking-in to the hotel late in the evening, when other options are closed.
google avatar

Yelp
Bar tender is inefficient. Sat at bar for 15 mins and she never took my order. Went to jr crickets instead it's right around the corner. No clue if the food is good but the service is a zero.
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
So sad that this restaurant was a total fail. Burger ordered medium rare received well done. Service- waited over 15 minutes for an old fashioned which was undrinkable. We promptly left. Unfortunately the ambiance couldn't make the up for the horrible experience.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Best Old Fashion I've had in long time. Wife loved the cosmo. Place was packed and service was fast. Turning into a regular pre play hangout.
google avatar

Taylor T.

Yelp
Poor management care- made it an uncomfortable experience when food came out wrong multiple times and treated us as a problem

Yelp
This feels like they are in the process of winding down and maybe about to close. We entered a fairly empty restaurant and stopped to see if we seat ourselves or wait to be seated. Several staff looked at us, but no one spoke. After some awkward standing around, we seated ourselves. When we sat down our server had 2 tables. My wife and I at one, and another couple at the table next to us. Our server took our drink order. My wife wanted nothing and I ordered the IPA on draft. The server said, with a little annoyance, "We don't have that!" I quickly double checked the menu to make sure that I had not accidentally ordered something that was not on the menu, but I was correct, it was there. she then said, "we only have one beer available. it is the Sweetwater 420." She's then said rather emphatically, "it is an EPA!" They list 10 beers on the menu, but only have one actually available? That is never a good sign. Since we ordered our drink when we were two of 4 total customers, you would think she would remember our order. The drinks from the table behind us were delivered first -by our own server- to us. My beer was later delivered to them. When she brought it to us, she had to ask who had ordered the beer. We had literally on ordered on thing up until that point - you would think she could remember. I ordered the roasted cauliflower. It was actually really good, but several pieces of it were cold. Some were hot, some were cold. Either would have been fine - if only the dish stayed consistent. I ordered the Caesar salad. It was tasty but the Romain leaves were left whole. That felt either lazy or they were going for a dramatic look rather than a positive eating experience. My wife had the quesadillas and said they were pretty good. Interestingly, everything was pretty good, but also everything had something about it that seemed like no one was watching over things in the back. One last detail: the check had an automatic 20 percent gratuity added. But, we were not told they were adding the gratuity. I don't mind the automatic gratuity, but I feel like it should be pointed out.

Yelp
I loved the ambiance of this pub! In the lowest level of the Georgian Terrace hotel, which has a very cool vibe itself. Medium sized bar but a good amount of booths and tables in this smaller restaurant. They serve tapas style menu with a couple extra larger plates. You can smell the deliciousness of the food when you walk in and see the guys working hard in the tiny kitchen space. Over the many times we have dined there, everything has been great on the menu. Why a 3 star review? The service.... And having been in the restaurant biz this kills me. Understaffed and unorganized. Poor people coming up just wanting soft drinks waiting 10 minutes? Come on managers, give this place some support. Especially when you know the ebb and flow schedule of the Fox theater. I will return but hope to see improvements in service and hospitality.
google avatar

Hillary B.

Yelp
0 stars for 0 service. The red flag should have been the missing host/hostess. Sat down for over 20 minutes with no service. The waitresses avoided eye contact and served all the other tables except for mine. I went up to the bar to see if I was going to have to serve myself and bust my own tables. Bartender said they would send a server over. Never happened. At that point, I felt that I was being denied service, so I left and got dinner and drinks at The Lawrence instead. Skip this place and go elsewhere or else risk being ignored and denied service.

Yelp
The cucumber crisp cocktail is the best I have ever had in my life. I will never write those words again.

Yelp
My husband and I dined here before a show at the Fox Theater on 9/16/23. It took more than 10 minutes for a server to come to our table and take a drink order. We ordered everything at once given the slow start of service because we wanted to make our show at 7:00pm (we sat ourselves around 5:40pm). Our soft pretzel appetizer didn't come out until 6:20. We inquired multiple times about our food order (two burgers with fries), but they did not come out until almost 6:40pm. The chef asked us to serve ourselves because we expressed that we had to leave (my husband went up to the chef's station and retrieved our meals). The burgers were decent, but the meal came with chips instead of fries. The servers and chefs were doing their best, but it was clear that they were understaffed. The whole experience was an example of poor management. They could not handle the crowd before a show. Additionally, 20% gratuity was added for a table of 2, so there was no incentive for workers to attempt to make this a pleasant experience because they were guaranteed a tip. We will not be returning and would not recommend this to others before a show. It was a waste of time and money.

Shmorrow L.

Yelp
We order drinks, they were terrible! The customer service was awful! We didn't order food because the service was so nasty we just left after our drinks. The atmosphere seemed nice and the location was great! They just need better servers!
google avatar

T Lang A.

Yelp
do not come here ever. service is below mediocre. poor customer service. poor listening. poor delivery. poor performance.

Brittany P.

Yelp
Awful management. Went to dine before a show at Fox 12/17/23. Waited over 45 minutes and when our time for table, hostess(manager) was rude and unprofessional. STAY away. I will never dine here again.

Elle J.

Yelp
The service was not well done. We did not get all of our order and the server Barbie was extremely mean and inattentive. We were ignored and fanned off as we attempted to order. It was an overall failure at service, food, and drinks. not interested in coming back.

Yelp
They added additional money to an already mandatory 20% gratuity without my authorization when I went there on 7/30/2023. It was $10.00 which is not much but they already put the 20% gratuity. When trying to get that refunded it was virtually impossible to get a person on the phone. I had to repeatedly leave messages and my calls were not returned by management of the Georgian Terrace Hotel which owns the place. It was only when I actually got a manager that I was sent a "mandatory credit card authorization form" for them to refund the $10.00. They then proceeded to charge $1015.92 in 4 additional charges to my account. I never have stayed in their hotel as an Atlanta resident. I only went there once for drinks. There was nothing hospitable about the service. The staff was rude and dismissive and refused to get anyone on the phone to try to resolve it. No one could do anything but transfer me to the voicemails of people who had in the past not returned my calls. I would never ever go to this place. There are two many other nice restaurants, bars and hotels in Atlanta for this to be acceptable as anyone's standard of service. I wouldn't go to any of the bars or restaurants in that hotel. Definitely not Edgar's Proof & Provision. Nothing on their menu is worth $1,025.02 in unauthorized charges (the total of the unauthorized charges over 14 days of trying to get this resolved).

Yelp
This is a bar/ restaurant in the Georgian Terrace across the street from the Fox Theatre. The Georgian Terrace is an historic old hotel and they still have the original marble stair case. Upon entering you will want to take the stairs down to the restaurant or elevator; if it's working. Came here on a Wednesday night so the patrons were all professional people at the bar and at a couple of tables. You just walk in and grab table or stool at the bar. This has a very speak easy vibe with a little modern music. I was with a of total 5 and we just ordered drinks and a handful of apps and dishes. Everything was very well seasoned and came out fast. My favorite was a roasted cauliflower with cheese sauce, Cajun chicken wings, and the deviled eggs (has bacon) Service is quick and attentive! This is a very take your hair down/ breather after a long day in the office place so service comes a little here and there. We had 2 people come late and our waitress came over ASAP when they sat down. Good for just talking shop and grabbing a quick bite. People watching is fun too!

Yelp
I used to frequent this place often when I lived in Midtown, and it was a favorite spot for me and some colleagues to grab a drink and chat. However, on a recent visit with a friend, the service was extremely poor. We waited 15-20 minutes for someone to take our order, despite sitting at the bar. While I understand that the staff may have been busy, it was frustrating to see other guests receiving prompt service even though they arrived after us. After finally receiving our drinks, we requested water but were never served. In the past, I have always received good service here, but this time it seemed like our poor experience may have been due to discrimination. Additionally, we were not given the complimentary snack mix that is typically served with drinks. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and it's disheartening to see this kind of behavior from a place I used to enjoy. I won't be visiting this place again.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
My bartender was awesome but as someone who has lived in the neighborhood for longer than this bar has existed (and who also works in hospitality) I was unhappy about how the white lady with the blonde bun seemed to want to push everyone, including me, out. A man on his own was "moved on," a man with a toddler was asked what he wanted "to go", and me, a pretty inoffensive middle aged woman who just thought it might be fun to revisit a bar that used to be my local was given a check without asking for it. These three examples of people who were run out were the *onl* customers during that time period except for some posh men who were so offensive that I moved seats to avoid them. They left quickly, and when they left they tipped very little. I think priorities are not okay here. Coming in after a couple of years of not going I was shocked that it was so empty but now I know why. I hope the bartender finds a much better place. He was cool.

Yelp
We went around 11:00 pm on a Friday night after a holiday party at the Fox. Very convenient that it's right across the street. As soon as we walked into the Georgian Terrace, it smelled like buttery grilled cheese, which I'm a fan of. Loved the brick and the string lights. P&P just has a fun atmosphere--the staff seem really cool and chill, and everyone is just there to enjoy. It's definitely a fun place to eat and drink late-night! For drinks, we had the Gruner-Veltliner ($11), The Truth (bourbon based) ($10), and Pearfecto (tequila based) ($11). The waitress accidentally brought out Chardonnay instead of the Gruner-Veltliner, so she just let us keep the Chardonnay. Recommend The Truth. My friend liked the Gruner-Veltline Wasn't a fan of the Chardonnay or Pearfecto. We split the pretzel ($7), salami pizza ($10), buffalo chicken pizza ($10), and grilled cheese ($10). I would not order the pretzel again. It wasn't worth $7 to me. The pizzas were a great item to split and everyone enjoyed both. Really wanted to get the grilled cheese because I was craving it after smelling it walking all the way downstairs and into the restaurant. The grilled cheese did not disappoint--so cheesy, so perfectly buttered. And it came with a pickle! Definitely recommend for late-night eats, drinks, and hanging out.

Wendy E.

Yelp
Both the food and service were amazing! We were there for a weekend trip and chose to eat there 2 out of the 3 days we were there! The vibe was pretty chill, and it's right across a theater, so perfect location for some pre show drinks
google avatar

Yelp
There's Proof in the Provision! I was going to a Penthouse Holiday party in the Georgian Terrace Hotel & arrived early so I needed to find a place to pass the time. I happened upon Proof and Provision, which is conveniently located in the lower level of the hotel. At first glance it looks like a dive bar with flatscreens conveniently located around the bar. It has a very friendly vibe to it from the bartenders to the guests sitting around the bar, you're guaranteed to be greeted with a smile &/or hello! I was only there for a quick drink so I ordered the Zingara Prosecco & the Black Eye Pea Hummus...TO DIE FOR! My only complaint is that it should be served with more pita bread but the flavor was unlike any hummus I'd ever had. The black eyed peas were seasoned to perfection & the pita bread was fresh & warm. It was a delightful surprise. And our bartender, Amy, was super friendly & attentive even as the bar began to get crowded. *Tips* -Take an Uber because parking is scarce & expensive, in that area. -It's a self-seating bar so if you're going to see a show, at the Fox, carve out enough time to get your food!
google avatar

Kyle B.

Yelp
Inattentive server, odd flavors in the bourbon cocktails, and the gratuity is included despite the awful service. Bad experience.
google avatar

Carole H.

Yelp
What a terrible night at this place. Decided on a late dinner after a show at the Fox. Got a table and ordered. Only 2 of us got our drinks and the appetizers came and we had no water, plates or napkins. The waiter NEVER came back to our table. Finally flagged down manager and got my drink and waters. We had then been there over an hour. The whole time we were watching people at the bar getting drinks and service. Was informed that they were out of almost everything and only serving a very limited menu. We decided to leave and got our check and they added a 20% tip and refused to remove it. We were only a party of 5 and got horrible service and were forced to pay an unearned tip!
google avatar

Marissa A.

Yelp
The ambiance and drinks are wonderful. I have also had some of the sandwiches and also were great! I really like to come here for an after dinner cocktail mostly, and it's a great place to go on a date or meet friends. Sometimes when there are shows at the Fox it gets busy.

Beth K.

Yelp
Be aware 20% gratuity with be charged for a table of 2! With this not being something normal for any type of restaurant our server received 40% and didn't even deserve 18% Used to be great place to grab food/drink before a show... top to bottom just not like it used to be. Will never go back
google avatar

Kayte M.

Yelp
Matthew the bartender is quite literally the rudest person I have ever met. Told me he was too tired to be there and was complaining about everyone coming in after the evening "Hamilton" show. Will never go back here. Absolutely avoid if you're trying to have fun.

Stephanie D.

Yelp
I was staying in the hotel and decided to grab a drink and some food. My bartender's name was Roderick and he was great. Had good recommendations and my drink was amazing. Would recommend and will definitely return.

Letherian H.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem with amazing food and lovely ambiance. I can't express enough how excellent our server Latishia was! Will definitely return soon.
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
The food is decent, the drinks are good. But oh dear the waitress' attitude was horrible. Wasn't acknowledged for 10 minutes after sitting down, no smile, and for some reason was pissed about answering questions about menu options. Or pissed that she had bring out food/drinks. Or pissed that we asked for parking validation. If you still insist on going here, you can either valet at the hotel or self park in the hotel's garage. Good luck. You'll need it.
google avatar

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Downstairs from the Georgian Terrace, this place has an a funky vibe straight out of the Depression years. The speakeasy atmosphere is fun, but.... The drink menu is limited. There are only a handful of Specialty drinks. They offer a small wine and beer list as well. The food menu is tiny!! The limited selection made it difficult for everyone in my party to order. You can ask for items to be removed, but there is not an option to add to your order. For instance, if you want a meat pizza, you can't ask for meat on the cheese pizza (they do not have a meat pizza). To be fair, I could completely over look that, but they way the food comes out was illogical and awkward!! So all the food comes out staggered. As in, everyone gets their food at different times!!! One of the parties in my company received both her salad and entrée prior to everyone else having been served. It makes for an awkward dinner!! Let's talk about the wait time!! I realize the it was opening night at the Fox, but they really should have staffed more servers. We waited at least 10 minutes to place a drink order, and trying to get our checks was a feat in and of itself. If you need a place to grab a drink/dinner before a show at the Fox this place works...plan ahead though. If you are hoping to enjoy a nice drink, dinner, or night on the town, you may want to look elsewhere!
google avatar

Dhata H.

Yelp
Just dropping some quick love to the P&P. The drinks were lit and the company was amazing. Bar regulars quickly welcomed us to their version of cheers. The bartender seemed to know everyone's name. The lady we sat next to used to live in Atlanta but moved to Savannah. Somehow they come back enough to make it feel like they never left. Was a perfect spot to grab a quick drink before witnessing Hamilton.
google avatar

Uma P.

Yelp
Let me start by saying: go check it out! There are tons of great things about this place but I wasn't super impressed by the food. The location and the space is great. The service is stellar. There are tv's and cool tables but the food is just okay/average. Got the deviled eggs which lacked some flavor. The wings were a hit with my BF but not with me. The BBQ chicken pizza wasn't bad, definitely soft and had flavor but I expected different or better? Cheese board isn't bad either. Like I said, go see for yourself. Maybe I went on an off night. Nothing is bad here and you won't go wrong with the location and service but the food, for me, was just average at best. Valet parking complimentary (gotta tip though!)
google avatar

N K.

Yelp
Very average! Great location but could do much more with the menu and quality of food! As soon as we walked in it smelt like burnt cheese, so needless to say we walked out smelling like burnt cheese! Deviled eggs tasted very bland and like vinegar! There are much better places in Atlanta in this price range, e.g. Holeman & Finch! Credit to our server, she was good!

Shan L.

Yelp
Trash!! Save yourself and don't go. Worst restaurant I have been to in Atlanta. The food is not good and our waiter was unprofessional and was not knowledgeable about the bar.The ribs tasted like they were cooked in the microwave.
google avatar

Judi T.

Yelp
It's ok, but WHATEVER you do, DON'T go right before a show at the Fox. They switch to "tapas style" meaning they only bring the food out as it's ready. That's code for...we don't know how to handle the 75 people we have in here so we will wing it. Got one prime rib sandwich in 10 minutes. It was pretty good. Hubby and I shared it. We got our deviled eggs at 20 minutes (not good at all...I make better deviled eggs and I don't cook all that much.) Got our 2nd prime rib sandwich at 35 minutes. We also shared it. Never did get the pretzels we ordered until we were walking out the door to the show. I stuffed them in my purse and then they were confiscated at the door to the theatre. You can't make his stuff up! This would be ok if we weren't in a hurry. But who has time for OK when there's so many other great options in this town.
google avatar

Hannah M.

Yelp
We had just finished eating but wanted a night cap before heading back to our hotel. Right across the street from Publik Draft House in the basement of the hotel is Proof and Provisions. You can cut through the hotel or head in the side door down the stairs. An orange cube sign marks the spot. It is a dimly lit spot with brick and wrought iron fixtures. The TVs are in mute and the crowd tends to keep things at a temperate buzz. The provisions are more like bar bites: pretzels, roasted cauliflower, seasons almonds, pizza. The proofs are a nice variety with a significant variety of mules (their speciality). I got a dark and stormy Mule with rum and their house made ginger beer. The ginger beer had a nice undertone to it and paired well with the rum. I tasted licorice as well. It was a well-crafted drink and if I was ever in Atlanta again I would make an effort to go back.

Sean M.

Yelp
Great drinks. Matt was great, served my group quickly and very efficiently. Great for a drink before a show at the Fox
google avatar

Shannon E.

Yelp
This is a cool place to pop into for a happy hour, a quick date, or for appetizers. Every appetizer we ordered was very yummy. We had the soft pretzels with some type of beer cheese (which were my favorite) and then we had the cauliflower that was healthier but still great! The only thing we were crazy about, was the nan and hummus. We had two orders of nan but the hummus was kind of funky. I think it was black olive hummus and it wasn't that great. I would NOT order that type of hummus. Thankfully I think the hummus flavors change monthly or weekly. They made me an interesting mocktail that I enjoyed and my sister loved her wine! No complaints here, we had a great time. I loved how it felt like a community inside. Kind of like a hofbrauhaus. So fun!

Yelp
Let's just put it out there- best Brussel Sprouts I have ever had! Could have been my meal. But no, I opted for the burger- and was not disappointed. Big and juicy, delicious! And the cocktails- perfect. Delightful bartender making the best of the situation in a world impacted by COVID-19. Maybe I should score higher - it's not their fault they are in a limited menu. Ok, good ambience too. I changed my rating to 5

Yelp
I dig this spot. It's got a good bar vibe. Not quite a pub, but not quite as trendy/overdone looking as the delicious craft cocktails they serve up. I like the brick - keeps it simple. The menu had a huge variety. of cocktails and snacks. I didn't get a chance to eat anything, but if you are waiting on a show at the Fox or Churchhill, I would highly recommend walking over here first to have a pre show drink.

Yelp
The Nutcracker show at The Fox Theatre and an after party at P&P! I agree with fellow Yelper Jang C., solid 3.5 stars. P&P is located in the basement of The Georgian Terrace Hotel, which is extremely beautiful just to walk around inside alone. I would've never heard of P&P because it's so hidden and tucked away if it wasn't for The Welcoming Committee (TWC) creating an event here post-show at The Fox Theatre. Friends and I sat ourselves upon entrance. This place screams PUB! Very clean and simple decor. There's a bar and plenty of seats from high tables to regular tables to booths. There's also a shuffleboard in the back to play! Service is swift and very attentive. Shout to to Kenna! She was helpful in suggesting items on the menu for us to order/try. FOOD -Shaved Prime Rib: I don't know how I feel. It was mediocre at best. Tasted like a philly cheese steak I can order anywhere. It needed a special creamy sauce or something. The Beef Au Jus dipping sauce was flavorless and didn't do justice for this entree. -Hot Pretzel: DELICIOUS! All I'm saying. DRINKS My friends ordered like 5 glasses of wine and no complaints. Overall, very cool place to grab drinks and snack on items with friends. Like many have mentioned, great place to eat before or after a show at The Fox Theatre since it's literally across the street and within the vicinity.

Yelp
I have been here before and the food was great and service was good but went here before a show this week and we ended up having to cancel our food order after nearly an hour so we would make the show. Grilled cheese sandwich and a ham & cheese sandwich...not difficult! Kitchen wasn't prepped for the preshow crowds. The server was nice and brought additional hummus free of charge to try and make up for it but sucks to go to a show hungry. Drinks were good and our server was really nice but they charged for ice...just roll the cost into the drink so you don't look ridiculous. Don't itemize my mix drink and charge for ice!

Yelp
Located in the basement of the Georgian Terrace Hotel, only locatable by the internally illuminated "P" light over a small staircase leading downstairs lies Proof and Provision, a bar that is definitely has its own feel and stamp on the block it sits on. I have been to Proof and Provision on multiple occasions, but never for the food...always for the cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, the bar makes some damn good ones! Priding themselves on specialty drinks, the bartenders spend ample time putting together a cocktail that not only touches your wallet, but also the deepest trenches of your taste buds. What does that fancy and somewhat erotic sentence mean? They have fancy, super tasty and kind of expensive cocktails...but they are super worth it. Once you walk downstairs and into the large double doors to get into the place, you are greeted by lots of wood, a big bar, a few TV's and normally a great staff member ready to seat you wherever an open seat is available or wherever your heart desires. Overall, I have enjoyed myself when I have visited P & P. I most certainly need to partake in some of the featured cuisine here and when I do, you best believe this review will be updated quicker than the waitresses here can recommend a specialty cocktail!
