The Essential Pizzerias to Know Around Atlanta

"While this small pizzeria located in the heart of the Edgewood Avenue bar district is pretty quiet during the day, at night it turns into one big, New York-style pizza party (with cocktails and wings) and King slices. There’s also a location on Oak Street in West End." - Eater Staff

So… I could tell I’m one of the best servers in the whole Florida, even in Miami. Said that, I can tell you here I got the best service ever… why? I was so lucky to be served by Andrea, and she also made herself my pizza so it was a 10/10 service by that goddess. Thank you for making my day better! Pizza is so fresh, delish, crunchy but soft at the same time, delicious cheese, and it’s so huge. Like 2 big portions.

If you are looking for good service, this is not the place! Myself and a friend went a few nights ago and had the most horrible service. Sat at the bar and watched the two young ladies working, help everyone around us and acted like we were invisible. Eventually, I had to say “excuse me? Can we order something please?” The lady on my left received her drink, the gentlemen on my right side received his beer, and they continued to move around us like we weren’t even there. Even helping people we came in after us. Even if we had been helped, nobody even came by to make sure we didn’t need anything while we waited. Luckily, the food was decent enough and came out hot and fresh. I had a queen slice of pepperoni pizza and my friend had a king slice of cheese and we shared an order of wings (the flavor was honey hot I think). Food was good. No complaints there. I’ve been to Edgewood Pizza multiple times over the years and the food is always right. Hot, fresh, and tasty. It’s the staff that needs help. Not enough people working. There was tons of uber and DoorDash orders coming in and the staff made that their priority over helping guests who were there in their faces trying to spend money.

We were thrilled to discover this pizzeria esp since their kitchen stays open until 2:30 AM, serving delicious pizza. Our waiter (Easter) was great—friendly, attentive and patient with our large group.

You never know what you’ll walk into in an unfamiliar city pizza joint. We didn’t expect to end up sitting in an art gallery, listening to a music playlist that was as tasty as the pizza slices we had. The dinner salad was solid too. Our server was helpful, charming and attentive. Can’t beat that for a lunch.

The pizza was freshly made from scratch. The waitress was very kind, professional and attentive. She checked on us and made sure we were fine with our food as she showed great customer service. My friend and I both enjoyed our pizza. Parking can be a lil tricky but if it wasn’t for that I would come more often. Overall pleasant experience.

Google
I’ve never left a review like this, but y’all really ruined my birthday. After a night of celebrating, we came in happy, hungry, and ready to spend more money. Just trying to end the night on a high note. Instead, some random man came to our table harassed us and made us deeply uncomfortable. We told the bartender. We told security. We asked MULTIPLE times for help, and nothing was done. We were ignored while this man sat there, violating our space and our peace. I left that place feeling anxious, dismissed, and unsafe on MY BIRTHDAY. That’s a feeling I’ll never forget. We didn’t come there looking for drama, we came to support your business. And y’all failed us. Completely. I didn’t even get to fully enjoy my meal.

Google
Absolute worst pizza I've ever had. They didn't give us what we ordered and/or made the wrong thing. Gave us a supreme. I absolutely HATE green peppers and they were all over the pizza. Super hard to even remove bc if you try to, it removes the cheese with it. We ordered it a little well done and it wasn’t even close. I don't think the pizza was fresh. It arrived cold. The wings were microscopic and way overcooked. Super disappointed. Will never try again.

Google
My friends and I went in tonight. It was a busy night and they seemed to only have 2 people taking orders. The waitress was also working behind the bar. My food took over 30min; there were a few people that came in after me, placed their order (ordered more food than I did) and the received their order before I did. And my order was wrong, and they had the nerve to charge automatic gratuity. They remade the pizza which I had to wait another almost 30min for.

Yelp
I ordered the bbq chicken pizza and I can't say the bbq sauce is what I expected. The reason for the 4 stars is I can see this being a great pizza using classic red sauce. Most of the time I do these reviews so I know what to order next. Regular cheese future Airiel!

Yelp
My husband and I went a few months ago and, while the pizza tasted okay, I don't think it was worth the cost/wait. Additionally, the service left a lot to be desired. Even though we were ordering to go, they kept forgetting about us and we had to keep going up to check on our order. We also had to flag them down to take our order to begin with. I'd go back and eat in, maybe on a slower day, to try it again, but I won't go again on a Saturday night for take out.

Yelp
My friends and I love going to Church right across the street, so we decided to finally stop in for a late-night snack! When we walked in, it was a little confusing where we could place an order, but we finally were able to snag some menus and find a server we could place a to-go order with. We ordered a few Queen slices of cheese pizza and then waited in a booth. It took a REALLY long time for the pizza to come out so we went up to go check on it, and it seemed that they had forgotten about us and our pizza was sitting all boxed up ready to go! We got our pizza and ended up deciding to just eat there since there's tons of space and it was late. The pizza was fresh and hot which I appreciated. In terms of taste, it was pretty standard pizza and for a late night snack, it did the job. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here, but it'll hit the spot if you're craving some late night pizza!

Yelp
I went looking for a pizza spot downtown and my Uber driver recommended it. I'm happy she did! They weren't crowded and me and my friend were able to sit at the bar. The restaurant looks small from outside, but has a bit of space. They play current hip hop music and it's just loud enough where you can still rally and hear one another. The bartender asked what we liked and made us a drink with peach lemonade and crown peach, it was soo good. I ordered a slice of pizza and some hot bbq wings. The wings were crispy and not too wet and the pizza was fluffy and crispy. The food was heaven. This is my go to when I'm in the area and I encourage my friends to stop there as well.

Yelp
So this is the only pizza joint on the block so it wouldn't be hard to find. It's easy to come in for a slice right off the street. They are made to order so they may take a little longer to make, so just have that expectation. You can see them back there cooking so you know it's going to be hot and fresh when it comes out. They gave a full bar so you could come in for drinks if you were not hungry. They have a bar area and several booths. You would be fine just wandering in because even though it's not the biggest shop, they have plenty of seats. I kept it super simple and ordered a slice and some wings (lemon pepper of course).

Yelp
Cool chill spot for a decent cocktail and a slice of New York style pizza. The pizza was good, however I didn't think it was particularly special. I appreciate that it wasn't too packed and the music was good but not too loud like some other establishments in the area. Even though they definitely were busy with outsiders orders service was still good and pretty fast. You can tell this is a spot the locals frequent.

Yelp
I ended up at Edgewood Pizza on Valentine's Day. Don't ask me how or why but I wanted some pizza and more importantly I wanted some GOOD Pizza! Upon walking in, I was excited to see that Edgewood Pizza wasn't crowded. Listen! If you know this place you know it is always rocking. In any case, we took a seat at the bar and were greeted by the bartender. She smiled and welcomed us in. She advised that she was the only one working and to please bear with her. Her delivery of the message was so genuine that we were willing to wait. I ordered a half cheese half pepperoni pizza and fries. Allow me to say this! I have no idea what kind of salt they put on these fries but OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!! These fries were amazingggggggg. LoL!! The pizza was perfectly made. It had the crispy edges, fully melted cheese, well done but not overdone center, and perfectly seasoned. Oh my gosh. This pizza never disappoints. The pepperoni was meaty and had crunchy edges!! This was Love in Pie form. LoL!! Though the bartender was the only employee and had to maintain the tables and bar, her service was stellar. She didn't allow the frustration of being alone to reflect in her delivery of service. Thank you to her for being amazing and providing stellar customer service. Thank you to the cook as well for being able to maintain all the orders and still make an amazing pie. Overall, it goes without saying that I will be back.

Yelp
Didn't get a pic of our delicious pizza and wings but it was good. Our drinks were great too. The lights changing took time to adjust but as we sat at bar service was quick and they checked in periodically. Enjoyed the music they played as well.
google avatar

Christie B.

Yelp
It's always tasty, no matter the time of day. I am a fan of the music and artwork! People know each other here and on a street like Edgewood that matters. My drink was tasty, shaken well, and cold. The pizza comes in slices king or queen which is so nice when you don't want a whole one!
google avatar

Yelp
Great pizza. Thin crust, but not too thin. Sausage and pepperoni was good. The cheese sold it for me here. Cheese bread was also excellent. Order was correct and got to me quickly. If you're looking for pizza in Midtown Atlanta, this place gets the job done.

Yelp
Itsa hit or miss type of night with these bars on Edgewood tonight. The vibe and music was off this Friday and Im surprised it's Memorial Say weekend!! Whats the matter ???
google avatar

Gimel C.

Yelp
The staff was friendly here. A bar crawl brought me here. The drinks were good although I cannot remember the name of the drinks we had. I personally did not order pizza but others in the group did and they enjoyed it. I would visit again (not during a bar crawl) for a second experience.
google avatar

Yelp
This pizza is sooooooo good!!! The whole vibe of the restaurant is cool! We got our food very fast and the wings were awesome too, check it out!! Good, Fast, Food!

Yelp
We had the late night munchies before our flight. Parking was quick and FREE. I had the King supreme and hot garlic wings. Our waitress was a doll. She took our order on the phone her phone lol the music is dope. Drinks even better.

Yelp
Visiting ATL for a football tournament and needed something to grab late night once the game was over. Found this place on Yelp when searching late night spots; called in an order, and went to pick it up. It was very close to our hotel downtown. There is street parking available and there are small parking lots all around so picking up our order was an easy process. We ordered a large cheese pizza and 15 wings (hot & teriyaki) and everything was phenomenal! 10/10! Will definitely be visiting here again.

N V.

Yelp
You can't call to order pizza. I left specific instructions regarding my pizza and they were ignored. I was charged for 2 more toppings than I ordered. The pizza was not cooked well enough and it was too salty for anyone to eat. There are homeless beggers outside the place. One guy banged on my car window when I was driving away. The pizza is terrible and you will probably not get what you ordered. It's not worth the hassle or the waste of money when you can't physically eat the wet, undercooked crap they call pizza. No Stars! I was ripped off and extremely disappointed. If you can't even call a pizza place, don't order from them!!
google avatar

Jenifer S.

Yelp
Great pizza and service!! The king slice is the way to go and the prices are reasonable. Def recommend!
google avatar

Jah-Nice W.

Yelp
So if you are SUPER hungry get the king slice. But if you are just a little hungry get the queen.. BUT either way it goes you will be full for sure lol. I ended up getting the king slice because my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I ended up eating just one slice and I couldn't even eat anymore. The pizza was okay, I think it definitely served its purpose which was to fill me up. If you are looking for a cheap late night snack, this is your place!!!

Maritza G.

Yelp
Pizza was fine or whatever but unless you want to risk finding a piece of plastic in your slice of pizza and getting threatened by a random customer for asking for a refund, do not go here. The kitchen staff was so kind and supportive to my friend asking for a refund for her pizza but the manager and waiting staff were incredibly unhelpful and only put my friends and other customers in danger by not asking the customer who threatened to kill my friend to please leave the restaurant. Only go here at your own risk. Kitchen staff killed it though!
google avatar

Khalilah A.

Yelp
My friend and I passed over Slutty Vegan because of the heat and this place was cool. It should have been cleaner, especially with COVID-19 still lingering. But, we ordered a King veggie pizza with wings & 2 Bahama Mama's (NO drink menu, so you really don't know how much you're paying for them ) yet the staff was on point!!! The pizza was gigantic, the wings were flavored well yet tiny but the drinks...DID WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE!

Yelp
Flew in late to Atlanta on a Thursday evening and drove around trying to find something to eat. Found this spot which was nothing fancy...slightly ghetto...but the food was definitely worth it.

MzGreenD. G.

Yelp
As the second customer of the day, the service from Jaime was superb! One of the best regular old time tasting pizza parlors in Atlanta! They make the perfect crust where the secret to great pizza lies. The combination of flavors and textures makes for the perfect King sized slice! The ambience is warm and inviting with spectacular artwork by artist Daniel Raymond Duggant.
google avatar

Yelp
Food is busssss down , the service is amazing , my boyfriend loves this place. Ambiance is always very chill, never too much . The wings and pizza are at the top of my list .

Yelp
The Best Pizza in the City. I only get my slices here whenever I'm in downtown Atlanta.

Aris L.

Yelp
The pizza is delicious. The service is also pretty good. They acknowledge and take your order pretty quickly
google avatar

Kyra L.

Yelp
I ordered a large "beef" pizza off of DoorDash I wasn't sure if it was going to be ground beef or Papa John's shaped beef. Can confirm it was fortunately Papa John's shaped! 3 stars bc it was SO salty I felt like I needed Amlodipine, Lisinopril, & Losartan all at once.
google avatar

AT L.

Yelp
How hard is it to put your items like wings in a bag and tie the bag? How hard is it to put a sticker or tape to keep the pizza box shut? Instead, you give our food to generally unhappy delivery drivers who can open a box and mess with the food. Maybe spit on the pizza if they don't like their tip? Maybe grab a pepperoni? Maybe grab one of the items and just act like the restaurant forgot it? Pizza boxes with big gaps for bugs as it sits at my front door? Seal your bags. It's basically no cost... But cost you a ton. I won't order again until things are sealed.

Yelp
I was happy this establishment survived through the toughest part of the pandemic and was excited to take my family from out of town to what I used to feel was one of the best pizza places in Atlanta. Maybe today was an off day but the service we received from Ahmani was below par and dismissive. Lacking professionalism and customer service. An establishment tacking on the 20% gratuity no matter what doesn't release a server from being kind or hositable. You shouldn't have the mentality that you "got your tip/money" nevaus The pizza was burnt, stingy with toppings or missing whole toppings all together and not timed properly with coming out, leaving half of the table with cold food and regretting even making the trek into the city. It took about 20 minutes to get ranch because the "Manager" was responsible for going to get it from next door. Whatever that meant. Just not a pleasant experience and I honestly was embarrassed in front of my out of town guest after speaking so highly about their food and service. Sad to say I think that Edgewood has relied on their old faithful customers to just excuse such occurrences but enough is enough.

Yelp
Great pizza spot especially after a night out at the nearby bars. Edgewood pizza opens pretty late every night and is a popular location. You order at the bar and then grab a seat anywhere there's an opening. The staff is super nice and helpful, and even gave us a nice deal when we ordered last time (2 of our queen slices were upgraded to king slices). I'll mirror other reviews and agree that the only downside is that it generally takes 30-40 minutes for the pizzas to come out, which seems quite long. But, in my opinion, they are well worth the wait! The slices are monstrous and stacked with toppings. The crust is also perfect - super thin and crunchy, but also very firm and holds the rest of the pizza up well. Edgewood pizza will continue to be my number one choice for late night food in the area, and honestly I look forward to it every time I have the munchies.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
female waiter can't take simple instructions... bad for business had to leave bc she needs help in her waiter etiquette

Pariss H.

Yelp
I just got an 18in came out and looks good and tastes amazing. Service is A1. Didn't take long to get my pizza because it was midnight. Love it for being a first time

Andrew H.

Yelp
Thin crust, bar-style pizza. Toppings good and the pizza was cook well. The dough is uninspiring and lacks depth. Ate it all still lol. Good service, thanks guys!!!!
google avatar

Tia W.

Yelp
I love ordering from this place every time I fly to the ATL. The funny part is that I live in the city of Edgewood in a different state. Would definitely recommend checking this place out.
google avatar

Kim C.

Yelp
From ordering over the phone to pick up every employee we interacted with was wonderful. It took us much longer to get settled into our hotel than we anticipated, so when we finally were able to eat it was a little cold (COMPLETELY OUR FAULT) and it was still delicious! We just went with simple pepperoni and cheese and both pizzas were perfect. The crust is a little garlic-buttery tasting and it was so yummy. We had a side salad that had a bunch of fresh chopped veggies, my seven year old said it was the best salad ever, and ate more than half on her own. We had refrigerated leftovers the next day and it held up so well, very yummy even the next day.
google avatar

Virgil R.

Yelp
Pizza is good also the wings and the customer service was outstanding. Oh yeah I almost forgot the drinks are really good especially when they made me a top shelf long island tea that had me feeling really good off of 1 drink.

Ahmad B.

Yelp
The pizza was bland and tasteless; there was barely any sauce. Basically, it was just cheese and bread. The guy that was supposed to give me my order gave me a hard time for some reason and that was my first time there. You can easily find better pizza elsewhere. Yuck
google avatar

Keya D.

Yelp
My visit was awesome...my server was Zaviere...she served a beverage that was SO GOOD!!! Her customer service was great and the food just added that much more pleasure. I highly recommend Edgewood Pizza...ask for Zaviere when you visit !!!-Keya

Yelp
So I've officially found my go to pizza spots in Atlanta. This pizza is so good it reminds me of pizza from up north. Although I don't eat pizza all the time but when I do I want it to count. I love this pizza so much because it's a thin sliced pizza and it's not overly greasy and it's not overly heavy. I would say if you truly want to enjoy the pizza and try them out, do not go on a Friday night or Saturday night. The weekends can be a little hectic because of the late hours and the nightclub crowd. I didn't enjoy the customer service but the pizza made it all worthwhile. I went back on a normal week night and it was much better. I highly recommend.

Yelp
A go to when I'm on Edgewood late night! It can sometimes get a bit crowded, but the pizza is the bomb and they have drinks and music! Very urban setting ideal for groups or couples. Servers could be nicer, but night life service on Edgewood is always iffy.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Our first time trying Edgewood Pizza and it was delicious! We got the double crust stuffed pizza .. and omg. It's like a pizza quesadilla in the best way. Nice buttery and garlicky crust with the perfect amount of filling (your usual "toppings" are on the inside!). It was sooo good. And definitely freshly made.

Yelp
I'd ordered delivery from Edgewood Pizza and was happy with my quickie pizza. I also liked that I could order by the slice. The evening I visited Edgewood Pizza I had a taste for pizza but didn't want to deal with the parking hassle at my preferred pizza place. First impression is that they need to add 2 more tables to the middle of the room. There is a large open space that could be put to use. Or maybe they use the open space as a dance floor because the old school R&B was on high volume. There was art on the walls from DRD Ink Studios, and it was pretty good. Most were paintings with a little mixed media. Check them out. Service was super slow - mainly because the server moved like she was walking in sand. She needed a coffee or a kick in the butt. My food was fine - not exciting but it's solid. I ordered a basic straight liquor on the rocks with lime and it was the most pitiful straight drink I have ever had (see pic). The ice cubes were so tiny and the lime was dry AF. (I prayed that the lime didn't have germs that would kill me.) I paid $3 to park across the street for an hour, and I hate paying for parking. This experience was not worth the visit,so I'll stick to delivery. (Overall review at 2.5 stars because the food is the only thing I like about this restaurant.)

Yelp
This once was a great place to get great pizza. Now is a sports bar with HORRIBLE service and sub-par pizza. Waited 30 minutes to find out my order was never placed. I hate to see a great place go down. Home of the king slice? No Home of the worst service in Atlanta. You get what you pay for and this spot isn't it. Terrible place to spend money!!!!
google avatar

Dawnes J.

Yelp
This place is NOT open 24/7 as it says. Arrived before midnight on a Sunday and they very rudely told me it was closed. They need to update their Yelp page and fix their attitude.
google avatar

Ace T.

Yelp
This. Is. The. Best. Pizza. In. Atlanta. It really isn't close. The staff could be better, it seems that they simply hire attractive girls to run the front that are not necessarily good servers or bartenders. Outside of that to get 2 gigantic slices of deliciousness for $5 is a great deal. Also parking is problematic. Black Owned.

V J.

Yelp
I first came to this restaurant after a late night partying on Edgewood, they were about to start closing up and they told us we had one minute to order. I ordered the largest cheese pizza they had and I think ten wings for my party. They were very cool and polite even though they were ready to close, they even let my friends and I sit down to eat while they were getting everyone else out. I have gone to them another time after that and the place was packed but we just picked up our pizza to go and it was still delicious. Thank you Edgewood Pizza; we'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Brittney C.

Yelp
Wow! I gotta say I am tremendously impressed. Being from up north and finding a legit greasy yet fulfilling pizza spot is hard to come by. Sure you'll have your Pizza huts and poppa johns but your "Pizza spot" has to be special. And I think I found mine! Location: It's on Edgewood so the traffic is busy and the parking is limited. If you're not lucky to find one on the street or surrounding streets your best bet is to try a surrounding parking lot. (I always get street parking lucky - knock on wood) Inside: Your typical pizza joint! The staff was nice and it is a content place to eat Food: The have numerous options but they offer slices. The have what's called a King slice and it's literally just that - 2 slices. I got cheese and it was soooo goood. I love a plain cheesy pizza and This One was great! The best news is the slices are only $4 Also, They have fountain drinks and they come in glass bottles. Way to stay healthy after gorging in this cheesy goodness! We also order Long Islands. I still think at home ya the best down south street BUT Edgewood has definitely brought the competition. It was good!
google avatar

Kayla B.

Yelp
Ordered from Uber eats and waited for an hour just for them to cancel the order. Don't recommend. Rude staff as well. When we called to see why it was canceled, we were hung up on. I'd give zero stars if I could.
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Our friend who lives in Atlanta brought us here because he knows one of the bartenders and hangs out here often. The pizza is good and priced very reasonably. If I had known the slices were so large, I would have only ordered one slice. I also had a drink from the bar which was good also. Our main gripe was that it was so hot inside the restaurant. The air conditioner must have been broken. The fan they had positioned right beside the door was mainly spreading around the hot air.
google avatar

Victoria R.

Yelp
Damn this is some great pizza! Being an east coast girl a slice, a real slice, makes me happy as hell. Mix it with a spot that isn't uppity, overpriced and in the burbs- sold!!! The young & free energy that oozes throughout this spot is refreshing and reflection of ATL. My extreme king slice is delicious! The beer was cold & reasonable. Bartenders were super cool. I will come back again.
google avatar

Kay S.

Yelp
I ordered the Basil Pesto King Slice and a 5 piece Hot BBQ wings. I definitely enjoyed them. Probably my 3rd time going here and the do not disappoint. Some times have been better than others but the food still is that same top quality. Even if the pizza is left in a little longer than usual lol.
