This hotel has everything you need or could wish for when staying at Lake Tahoe. From the private beach access to heated pools/hot tubs. All the restaurants were great! Not to mention the staff was excellent!! Everyone was so nice and just truly made our getaway one to remember. We can't wait to be back at Tahoe, and we will always choose Edgewood for our stay!

We just loved the Edgewood its location is just picture perfect., The rooms are large stunning, spotlessly clean and super super comfy beds.||The moment you pull up to the door the Staff just make you feel super special and welcome.||Valet parking is seamless...Reception so welcoming and helpful.||We had a ground floor room which was very large , a spacious bathroom to say the least and a bed that was super comfy. Spotlessly clean and we had a small terrace and view of the lake.||The Concierge was totally on point and really helpful....thank you. Booked a cruise on the lake for us and dealt with everything making the process so simple you just have to turn up and enjoy your day.||There is a free shuttle service drop off and ring for pick up to the harbour.||We ate in both the restaurant and the Bar ....food was delicious and Staff great.||We got introduced to "Smores" which were fun and not a UK thing so it was great to have the Staff show us how it was done.||The scenery is just breathtaking and lovely.||We were on a road trip staying two nights and were really sad to leave and should have stayed for longer.|||We will be back to this "Magical" Hotel....book it you will not be disappointed

Google
Highly recommend that you stay at Edgewood. It actually was worth the money and the hype. The golf course is amazing. It is the best golf course in Northern California! If some in the group do not golf Edgewood has the best beach in Tahoe, spa and a lot of other things to do on and off the property. It is great for a personal trip but if you have a business off site this is the place to bring the team. Amazing!

Google
Best resort in Lake Tahoe! Super beautiful and peaceful places with lake, mountain, pool and bonfire! Very elegant internal design of the hotel and very delicious foods in the restaurant. Difficult to book a room but can get into the resort for a lunch or brunch and to enjoy all the beauties the resort can offer!

Google
The resort experience was more than what we expected. The service is amazing and we loved getting to live in the robes they provided during our stay. In the mornings they have a cart with green juice (delicious), tea, and treats. We loved it.

Google
We loved our stay at Edgewood Lake Tahoe! Everyone was really welcoming. Rooms are nice. Views are unmatched! Drinks are amazing and so is the food. Our kids loved the smores setup. Looking forward to staying here again!

Google
Wanted to love this place and it should be a first class hotel but a huge disappointment customer service wise. Very few staff engaging with the customer in a positive way. Most miserable, disinterested and dismissive which made our stay somewhat uncomfortable in parts. Bell staff were the exception. One particular member of staff in the golf pro shop was so poor it was rude. Such a shame as this could be a fantastic hotel with some attention to detail.

Google
Our waiter Garrett crushed it. He explained everything so well and recommended the steak duo that was better than expected. Best meal ever couldnt recommend this place more. Worth every penny

Yelp
Had a fantastic experience at the Bistro. Our waiter Tom was phenomenal and totally saved my wife from an order fail. excellent food and atmosphere. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
The property here is beautiful. Upon check-in, I asked valet to charge my car. He said he would but that did not happen, until my very firm 4th request 12 hour later. I guess I didn't tip enough!? Tips are optional but always welcomed... My credit card offers me perks such as room upgrades etc... I asked for an upgrade and was told it wasn't available. We were assigned room 364, which overlooked the parking lot. Later we went to the front desk to ask for that room upgrade again. I guess she forgot she said there wasn't one. She looked and said there was a room upgrade and she would have to see the cost difference. I reminded her that she said there was none and that my card allowed for one. Her response, "oh, that's right". She said she would check with her manager and call me. That didn't happen. So we slept in the original room, which was loud. Mowing started at 6am and people were talking loudly in the parking lot. The room had a dirty, used coffee cup and no toiletries in the bins. Once up, we asked for a room upgrade again and told them how loud the room was. We were accommodated by a different person from the day before. We ended up is 324, which was lovely. Upon checkout, they tried to charge us $50 a night for parking when the valet "contract" they gave me has $25 listed as the overnight fee. I had to ask for a manager to get this resolved. Ended up speaking with Salvador, who was rude, loud and very confrontational about parking! Like it's no sweat off of his back but he apparently felt the need to yell at me, angrily, making a scene and it felt like he was trying to intimidate me. I didn't back down and asked for his name. He then refunded one nights parking, and calmed his tone. Salvador needs to check his anger at the gate on the way to work. The Edgewood Restaurant is not worth it. Go to the Bistro and ask for the GM, Stephen. He's a class act and the service/food was great. In all, the property itself was great. Service on the other hand, needs tweaking. This is supposed to be a 5 star resort. Act like it.

Yelp
Beautiful property. We had a short 3 day stay with Ada service dogs. Everything was going well until , what seems (was but I dont want to say a name) like the same manager, decided to become verbally hostel towards my dogs handler (I was at an even with plenty of people who were aware of my conditions) the manager was offered paperwork, offered to go consult with me etc to make sure my dogs checked all the conditions of an ADA compliant dog. She refused. Upon hearing about what had happened, I, of course, asked to speak with her, again, to provide proper information. She was so hostel and making up accusations for "incidents" on the dates we were not even there. I understand there is abuse people use for the ESA loophole , which is unfair to all of us in the Ada service dog community. Management only had hostility and honestly quite dismissive rhetoric for the importance or what should be the behavior of people in need of service dogs in general. Upon leaving, I found that she had been issuing complaints across the board about any animal there. I did feel personally attacked at the moment of confrontation because I had to explain and justify things none of us should have, but upon hearing that this is an ongoing problem within the company, that manager in particular, I do feel less disturbed knowing my dogs were not an isolated incident. The valet/room service/restaurant, etc, employees were absolutely wonderful with them as well. But please be aware when booking Edgewood is a service dog "tolerant" establishment, not a service dogs "friendly" or even edging on "compliant" hotel. Needless to say upon my exchange with the manager she took such an aggressive and hostle road both parties decided we should end our stay a night early and we promptly left....later the manager called my caretaker and the dogs designated handler apologizing and ADMITTING FALSE accusations and alerts as well as begrudgingly owning up to her being a catalyst in the whole ordeal and offered many "im sorry" perks ; but has not reached out to me or my partner. I will not recommend Edgewood to anyone. Once is enough to get the vibe on how they treat people with service dogs and possibly those without visually notable disabilities.

Yelp
For the pricing I really expected a little more from this hotel. However, out of all the places I have stayed in Tahoe this by far is the most beautiful. Lows: The room came with a few issues which they were slow to take care of or did t take care of at all. The mini fridge was not very cool to keep our things fresh. From the moment we checked in we brought the issue up and both times nothing was done. The tablet in the room was not charged so it took a moment to figure out the charging station was not working properly. There were stains on the chairs; however house keeping did address this immediately. The restaurant was busy and slow despite reservations. The food itself was not that great although convenient. Highs: Champagne greets you as you check in and the staff is friendly. This place is utterly beautiful and the main lobby is a place you definitely want to spend some time at just socializing and enjoying the activities and small touches like hot cocoa bar, games and the s'mores at night which are utterly perfection when you dream of Tahoe winters skiing and snow. Rooms are spacious, if you can I'd get the lake view splurge as the rest of the hotel faces the casinos and there is not much of a view. During the holiday season which is when we stayed there were great activities planned and available. Definitely will be returning and trying this hotel+ in the summer months.

Yelp
I'll start with this is the most high end resort in the South Lake Tahoe area. The lodge is beautiful and the rooms nice. We especially enjoyed laying out by the pool each day. That said, I feel the experience was generally 4 star. Obviously the 1 star reviews are ridiculous, but I did notice the service is generally slow and not extremely warm from everyone. There were times of nearly no wind and they wouldn't put the pool shades up saying it was due to wind danger. I found it a bit ridiculous of an excuse since the bistro had umbrellas up, and there was no wind. I'm sure it is more difficult to get solid employees being up in the mountains, and most were great, but things did just move very slowly and you definitely didn't leave feeling taken care of. The value at over $1000 per night over the summer isn't there.

Yelp
Had the opportunity to come here twice. Came to this side of Lake Tahoe once in July of 2019 and another Feb of 2020, and both times were just wow, magical! I don't think a prettier place exists. Everyone on staff was friendly and welcoming. From booking our rooms to check in, the service was top tier. Upon arrival, you're just taken aback by the beauty of the property. It's beautifully designed - luxurious and cozy! We received complimentary drinks while we waited for our rooms to be available. This place had a lot of amenities and activities to offer its guests. We took advantage of the shuttle to take us into town and even booked a kayaking activity on the private lake. Our time there was enjoyable and memorable. 10/10 experience

Yelp
Here's the scoop: This is THE place to stay in South Lake Tahoe as far as luxury hotels. Everything is top notch. Beautiful expansive grounds with a beach. Awesome infinity edge pool. Nice rooms some with spectacular lake views and the upscale Edgewood restaurant is one of the best I've ever eaten in. During the busy season the room rates are arguably exorbitant all things considered creating 6-star expectations in what is realistically a 4.5 Star Hotel. So some may whine justifiably it's too expensive for not being quite Ritz Carlton Signature level but you could argue the spectacular location justifies the price. It's classic supply and demand at work due to Tahoe having so few waterfront properties. One of the nicest golf course locations I've ever seen. Champagne at check-in. Free S'mores bar in the evening. Free Yoga in the morning on the lawn with a view of the lake. Perfect for a splurge/special occasion stay especially if you're a golfer. Casinos are a 15 minute walk away or take a shuttle to anywhere in a 2 mile radius (to reduce traffic congestion - very smart.)

Yelp
Tried calling 4 different times to change a reservation. Talked to the hotel desk and the forwarded me to Brooks. Answers with, the mail box is full. Thank you. And back to a different menu that is different from the first one. Talked to the Bistro twice. After 11 minutes on the phone, gave up and tried a couple more times. No luck. Gonna have to drive down to change my reservation. A manager should call the main number and see what a run around they get.

Mihrdat Y.

Yelp
I was not staying at the Edgewood per say, but WOW. This has to be the most beautiful hotel experience in Lake Tahoe by far. Beautiful from top to bottom. I truly believe it is worth very penny if you stay here during your Lake Tahoe experience. We met with some friends at their restaurant and what a pleasant experience we had. I ordered a fine old fashioned and enjoyed every last sip. Everyone at my party raved about their expresso martini and that was excellent. Please order their pancakes, you will not regret it at all. Highly recommend without hesitation!

Yelp
Recently stayed and had such an amazing experience. I left one of my belongings and Edgewood went above and beyond by getting it shipped next day.

Leta B.

Yelp
Staying here was one of the most luxurious experiences I've ever had. Everything about Edgewood was above and beyond--from the kind, helpful employees to the gorgeous, high-quality design and views to the amazing food and beverage options to the fresh, wonderful smell of the lobby. How sad that I almost didn't choose to stay here because of some ridiculous Yelp reviews about nit-picky nonsense. These cruel reviewers should be ashamed of themselves and their unhelpful reviews should be deleted from Yelp.

Tracy C.

Yelp
The resort is undoubtedly beautiful great location right on the lake. I have to say my number one negative is the leaf blower at 7 o'clock in the morning on a Sunday is unacceptable. The restaurants are 3 to 4 star with service and quality for the price. It should be higher.

Cecille W.

Yelp
The alpine resort of my dreams. Edgewood is everything that I expected it to be and more! I booked a stay here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and it was absolutely beautiful. We received a welcome glass of champagne which was already an amazing start to our stay. The views from the great room are breathtaking at every hour from sunrise to sunset. The amenities were wonderful - including an après sleep cart in the morning and a s'mores cart in the evening. They even have essential oil cold towels in the fitness center which was perfect after a workout session. The pool is heated and their jacuzzi is one of the biggest I've ever been in. As for the rooms, we booked a Tahoe King and the room was very spacious and equipped with even more amenities including a Pathwater refillable water bottle and large toiletries from the Edgewood Spa that smelled amazing. Don't even get me started on the bathrobes. Softest robe I've ever worn. We really debated asking if we could purchase them and wear them home! The staff were amazing during our stay and very accommodating when we had questions. They even have an on-call shuttle service that can bring you into town within a 2 mile radius. If you're planning to bring a car, keep in mind that they are valet-only. We definitely will be back to Edgewood hopefully next winter so we can experience the resort in the snow!

Brian W.

Yelp
A very beautiful hotel in Lake Tahoe. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the front desk workers and were able to get our room very quickly when we got to our room it was very clean and luxurious beautiful view of the lake. I would definitely recommend coming here.

Stori M.

Yelp
The service and stay were amazing. We had great service throughout our stay beginning with checking in to the spa until day we left . All the servers in the restaurants were great as well. We have no complaints

Aaron O.

Yelp
Our first time up to Tahoe and we stayed at the Edgewood. What an incredible property. We had such a great time. The lobby is so beautiful and we spent time by the fireplace drinking coffee and enjoying the view of the snow. The room was cozy with its own fireplace. The staff were all very friendly and overall such a charming property to spend time at.

Sharon D.

Yelp
Absolutely stunning location and property. And we could not have loved the room anymore than we did. It is a top luxury class accommodation and a remarkable experience of panoramic open views to the north and west , of what felt like the whole unspoiled lake! The staff too were all responsive, kind friendly, and professional and they very interested in our comfort, happiness, and enjoyment in the hotel itself. So why not FIVE stars? Unfortunately the premier dining option the Edgewood Resturaunt, where we booked at 2:15 pm when we arrived, Our dinner reservation in consultation with the hotel concierge, "apparently successfully", (after requesting a windows seat, water view for my 75th birthday celebration. We excitedly dressed up for the occasion and strolled 250 yards to the Cluhouse to the top dining on the property , closer to the water. Arriving on time we were led to a slide in booth facing the exit door, separated from the windows, and the other guests. The spot was isolated in feeling and exactly right beside the waiter's station, where dishes clattered and wait people kibitzed with each other, and the exit door was frequently used as an entrance by other guests who walked in off the patio headed to the empty, water view tables and cold air blew in with them along with their casual noise. It felt like being seated on an alley, out of sight. Being nearly in our waiters station, did not prevent our being ignored by her for timely service or even much service. She spoke condescendingly with clear elder prejudice on display. (Does no one tell these barely 20- something's, they are not automatically invited to call us "Dear" in every other sentence, and that being told on receiving a 75th Birthday greeting to "Take care of your HEALTH." Is both insensitive and ageist? It felt close to deliberately rude, actually, the entire awful experience. Needless to say there was no cupcake or candle offered, though several other birthdays were celebrated by them that way As two mature women, we are sophisticated travelers. We are not touchy, grouchy types and do not "pick fights " by choice, in order to enjoy life more. However this unfortunate and unpleasant dining experience marred our experience of the entire property, which we were earlier more than inclined to love. If you go, I suggest you choose another resturaunt, if any of the details of our experience bother you. It saddened and disappointed us.

Crystal E.

Yelp
Edgewood is amazing! From the location situated on Lake Tahoe, to the food, accommodations, amenities, service, spa, everything is always top notch. Love visiting here every time we're in South Lake Tahoe. Our go to destination for relaxation.

Lisa Y.

Yelp
We attempted to check into our room upon arrival and were immediately told "our system is down, we can't check you in so check back in a few hours". A well established 4 star resort and no back up system in place for if their service goes down to check in guests seems rather unprofessional. We were not offered any other updates other than "just keep checking in with us every few hours to see if it's running"

Layla R.

Yelp
Phenomenal stay at Edgewood! From Check In to Check Out, everything was absolutely perfect. The hubs and I needed a getaway. We had limited time so had to stay somewhat close and South Lake is exactly what we needed. We both refused to stay at a casino as we wanted more of an elegant resort. Edgewood was perfect. The grounds and lobby are gorgeous! Champagne at Check In was a nice touch and just affirmed that we chose the best place for our getaway. Our room was in the first floor and we had a gorgeous view of the lake. The bed was comfortable and placement of the TV was perfect. We had the fireplace on for a bit, just because we could. The bathroom was incredible! Oversized and open with two sinks, tons of counter space, and a tub you could sink into. The shower was also oversized and the water pressure was perfect. Every staff member we met, whether they were valet or working in one of the shops, was fantastic. So friendly and welcoming. This truly was an elevated 5 star experience.

Sherry H.

Yelp
One star for the the receptionist Paula. She was rude, indifferent and unfriendly. Upon check in she showed no emotions, no welcomes and certainly no explanations about the hotel or when our room will be ready. What an awful first impression for a first time visitor. I am not begging her to stay at the hotel, what was the attitude for?! The rest of the hotel staff are nice, friendly and amazing. They made up for her bad attitude. The hotel ground is beautiful and serene. Pool is small and shallow. Food is ok, nothing special. Next time I think I will stay elsewhere.

Michael C.

Yelp
We were expecting a 5-Star experience. The resort is a 5-star cost for sure. It's beautiful. The property is gorgeous. Right on the lake. Our room was just so so. Great view of the lake. No drawer space at all The pool is so small insufficient for the size of the resort The hotel is staff is courteous and friendly but not overly helpful. The concierge was of little help when we asked. The golf course is fantastic. Tee times are close to impossible even if staying at the resort at $1300/night Not sure we would come beck. Spent 5 days over $8k not sure if it's worth the total cost vs other 5-star resorts we've stayed at

James P.

Yelp
I've traveled to Tahoe and visited Edgewood many times. Golf, drinks and bites at the diner, but this was the first time staying (for a special occasion). And WOW! Just an amazing experience. I connected with Alyssa (Activities Coordinator) to help/assist in planning my proposal and she just totally rocks. She was in contact all through the planning process and made sure everything was considered and addressed. I seriously can't thank her enough for all her help. The resort itself doesn't disappoint at all. Beautiful grounds, 24hr valet, daily 'extras' (movies, board games, s'mores, etc) and friendly staff. Staff comes by mid day to freshen up the rooms and also has an evening turn down service. Room service is available and very tasty. They seriously have it all and do everything at a 5 level! Will definitely be returning!

Bex N.

Yelp
My partner and I stayed here a year ago as we were waiting to find out if I was pregnant (ivf). It happened to snow like crazy so we spent a lot of time on the premises. Everyone was amazing and so helpful! We ate at all their restaurants and both had spa treatments. In regards to the restaurants, I'd say you are paying for the view at the Edgewood Restaurant. We enjoyed the food at the Bistro a lot more and Brook's is good for a quick bite. Also, the concierge was so helpful and we loved that they had a shuttle service so we didn't have to drive our rental in the snow. We are actually going to be staying here again next month with our baby as our good friends (who will be staying at Edgewood again as well) are getting married in Tahoe. We are so looking forward to our stay!

Rosie D.

Yelp
We booked a night stay for a short mini getaway to Tahoe for our Anniversary. The property is a gorgeous and right by the lake. The rooms are really nice as well. It was clean and spacious. The only complaint I have is more of a personal preference. I prefer a firmer mattress and pillows. The bed and pillows we very soft. Every staff member we encounter was super nice and helpful. I enjoyed all the complimentary items and activities for guests. Edgewood will definitely be our go to when staying in the S.Lake Tahoe

Tom C.

Yelp
I tried to book a room for two weeks from now for a first anniversary surprise to my wife. When I called I had already booked dinner reservations onsite, planned to golf Sunday and set up a spa day for my wife. I wanted to speak to someone about a stay and play package with a spa package but got bounced around to three people before getting a voicemail. I called back but was told to book online when the website clearly says packages can only be booked by phone. For the price Edgewood clearly needs to get it together. I've stayed and played at most golf resorts in Northern California like Pebble Beach, Silverado and Cash Creek, all have been much smoother and not as Expensive to lodge.

Josh S.

Yelp
I'm currently having issues with the Reservations Manager with a refund of a deposit made on a stay for the end of the month. I've canceled within the 7 day policy. But am being told the bank won't allow the refund to go through. But my bank on the other hand is telling me it should be able to go thru without a problem. So currently I'm being told by edgewood to do a charge back through my bank to get my refund! What a mess!! Very unhappy I have to deal with this to get my refundable deposit back. I'm sure this is a beautiful resort, but lesson learned forsure! Beware of this resort!

Charlie H.

Yelp
Great hotel resort. Right on the lake! Nice pool and golf course. Walk downtown and to Casinos is easy. Not cheap however.

Reanna L.

Yelp
I love everything about this hotel! Now that I have stayed here twice I truly am not sure if I will book elsewhere in Tahoe. The cleanliness, location, ease of parking with valet, food, coffee bar and private beach! Also the spa and pool are great! I truly have zero complaints.

Lizzy H.

Yelp
My fiancé and I got engaged on the beach at Edgewood and our stay was absolutely amazing. The service here is unlike any service. Our shuttle driver Johnny in particular went above and beyond with his service to us. After dropping us off he walked us inside and knew it would be empty at that time and a good time to take pictures of us in the beautiful lobby. He got us champagne and was so personable with us and made our moment that much more special. I had take a selfie with him because he was so awesome! Lol

Janis W.

Yelp
Tried staying here for a spring vacation, the hotel was practically empty yet we were told we were unable to check in at their stated check in time because "their system is down". Five hours later their system is still down with no back-up plan in place, we were told to just continue to wait. How such an established and high rated resort has no alternative check in system is bewildering.

Charles C.

Yelp
Stayed here for new years and bought the $600 per person new years event. Was told by staff when booking that it would be similar to last years event but turns out it was not even close. No event to speak of whatsoever. Nothing like last years event at all!! The old bait and switch. DONT BUY THEIR EVENT PACKAGES!! Fraudulent and not as advertised. We ended up going to the casino for the ball drop instead of staying at the resort. There were free drinks and desserts in the lobby for anyone who was present. Not worth $600 a head. Terrible experience. 4 people with rooms and the event package we paid over $7000. We will never do this again!!!

Tracy N.

Yelp
I'm not impressed. 5 star prices that don't match the service. They need to do better!

Diane M.

Yelp
My husband made special arrangements for our anniversary. He booked a specific room configuration and was so happy with himself for the surprise. We had a nice lunch at the Bistro and rented their Mastercraft boat with a driver for the afternoon with friends. Day going perfectly lovely. We then checked into the hotel anticipating three glorious days gazing at the water from our balcony. We arrived in a room which was like a large closet to us. A very tiny room with very tiny partially obstructed view. My husband was devastated. He called down and insisted we have the wrong room . He ordered a much larger room and it was 1600 a night. He was told they were out of inventory of they size room. He was 109% deflated!!! We had couples massage scheduled, dinner reservations for our anniversary the next day all shattered. He said we are not staying in this room. We checked out and drove back to Reno. A further note we both turned 80 this year and the anniversary was to be extra special. All spoiled by their "lack of inventory to cover a reservation made weeks ahead and deposit made. Back in Reno LuLou's made our anniversary dinner totally perfect !!! We will never dine, eat, or go boating from Edgewood again.

Alexander W.

Yelp
We stayed here last Sunday, we checked in and the receptionist was extremely rude and told us nothing about the hotel.. no hospitality at all. However the real reason I'm writing this is my girlfriend and I got attacked by bed bugs. We were itching all night with no sleep and had red bumps the following day. I wrote general manager Brian Coughlin an email about the issue the following day and he responded by denying the issue with no refund whatsoever. We paid $1000 for the room alone. For a hotel of this caliber I expect better service and hospitality and for rooms to be eradicated of pests.

Sara R.

Yelp
My husband and I just returned after five years to experience the resort. Our trip was 4 nights long and it was amazing! The service, the amenities, the staff, the food and especially the spa was top notch! It was an amazing trip that was right on the water so the view was perfect! I recommend Edgewood to anyone who wants to celebrate or getaway! Also, others had there kids there and it was the perfect venue for families or just couples!

Mike B.

Yelp
Went with a colleague today to tour the property for an upcoming event. We had made arrangements with the sales department to meet in the lobby and were able to tour various meeting spaces, guest rooms of various levels, the restaurants and clubhouse. This property is beautiful. Every aspect looks meticulously maintained and the views of the lake and mountains are gorgeous. The finishes at every level are impressive. The overall pricing is more expensive than Reno but probably very comparable with other resorts in the Tahoe area. For people visiting from out of town this is an impressive way to enjoy Lake Tahoe but for those of who may also want a stay-cation close to home - I envision this would be a great place to relax, unwind and feel pampered. Overall we were really impressed!

This review is completely based on the experience I had while trying to make a reservation... My husband and I were in Tahoe for the weekend with our one-and-a-half-year-old. We had been tubing all day long and it was my daughters nap time so she was fussy. I wasn't able to reserve a table online so decided to give them a ring. During my conversation, the concierge at Edgewood told me they had a table that could accommodate 3 people (myself, my husband, and my daughter). I thought awesome we'll take it whatever time it may be. While I was on the phone my daughter began to cry because she wanted to nap. When the concierge heard her she proceeded to tell me "just so you know this restaurant is a quiet restaurant"..... did I just hear that, did she just say that..? I was left speechless. I told her we wouldn't have a problem as my daughter is very well-behaved and the reservation would be after she woke up from her nap. Then she told me the table they have is for 2 people, not 3 so they didn't have anything available for that night. Look I understand they're busy and a really popular restaurant but really... you tell me that then go on to tell me they cannot accommodate our party anymore.. okayyyy.. won't be returning. My husband was dumbfounded when I told him what happened.

Yelp
I sat there on the beach looking at the horizon as the sun tore through the clouds in the brilliantly lit sky and set into beautiful snowy mountains. Deep blue waters of the lake set ablaze by various shades of orange. I sat there; witnessing this remarkable cycle of universe filling me with hope, optimism and lifting my mind and soul to a state of absolute zen. So serene. So inexplicably gorgeous. This is exactly what I needed. Drove up to Tahoe on a spontaneous trip and stayed at this hotel. The moment we arrived at the entrance gate, I knew I was in for a pleasant surprise. Champagne at check in, I was already a fan! Large windows all around provide unobstructed views of the beauty that is Lake Tahoe. Our room was clean, modern yet cozy with a fire place and a balcony that opened into the luscious green golf course with scenic mountains and lake. We walked around the resort admiring it and taking several photos to capture this moment that felt like a dream of sorts. Later that evening we went to the Bistro for drinks and appetizers and to Edgewood Restaurant for a fantastic dinner. Breakfast in bed was an amazing way to spoil ourselves and start the following day. The staff at this resort were extremely professional, helpful and nice. They made it their priority to ensure we had a wonderful and memorable stay. During the day, we took the shuttle to Heavenly Village. Once there, we realized how much we missed being at and how blessed we were to be staying at Edgewood. Within 10 minutes of walking around, we were back at the resort sipping champagne on the beach. The Lodge at Edgewood Hotel is truly an oasis. My only wish is if I could stay a little longer...

Yelp
Great place to stay. The staff was great and the valets were on top of everything. The concierges were great and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. If you asked for something you got it. The snowshoeing experience was fun and was suggested by the concierge. The guide was great and the hot chocolate afterwards was excellent. Even the front desk staff would ask how you were doing and if you needed anything when you walked by. This place was were I decided to go on my first week after retirement and it was an excellent decision.

Yelp
Our family came here to celebrate Christmas and originally, we were very happy with the property and service until today, Christmas Eve. My family was enjoying the ice rink just outside the entrance of the resort. My daughters were thirsty and so I went to the concierge just inside the entrance to ask for 2 bottles of water for my kids. They provide bottles of water complimentary each day in the room and the water is refillable. My husband asked me to go to concierge because he had no problem getting water from there the other day. Of note, I am Asian and my husband is Caucasian. I am a healthcare provider and I have no problem communicating in English. However, when I asked the lady at the concierge desk if I can have 2 bottles of water, she put her hand to her ear and said, "What?" 2 times and after I repeated this simple sentence 2 times, she coldly said, "We don't have water here and we don't give bottles of water here." I told her that my husband got it easily from the concierge yesterday as the staff simply had housekeeping staff bring it down for him in a few minutes. She had no reaction and had no desire to help. After that, I talked to the staff and apparently a new manager at the front desk if it's possible to get 2 bottles of water for my kids outside. They had to ask the staff named, Hector, how they can get water for my kids, Hector said "I don't know, maybe you've got to ask housekeeping?" The new manager asked him to have housekeeping staff bring the bottles of water for me. No one was kind about this request and they all seemed to be very annoyed. A few minutes later, Hector brought 2 bottles of water and handed them to me in rude manner and said, "You can just fill the water next time." When I tried to explain the situation and to apologize, he rolled his eyes and turned to walk away while I was in mid sentence! I felt humiliated and discriminated against! If providing 2 bottles of water for hotel guests is such an inconvenience for the hotel staff, then they should inform the hotel guests about the water bottle policy instead of insulting and humiliating the guests! This unpleasant and unprofessional experience totally ruined our family's Christmas Eve. Don't get me wrong, the majority staff and the other manager, Shawn, are exceptionally professional and kind. I am very disappointed that it took a few staff in a few minutes to ruin our memory of our trip to this resort. Update - We requested for room cleaning service at 4:51pm and received the confirmation that our room will be cleaned at 5:25pm. We just got back to the room at 8:19pm and the room cleaning service was not done!! We called the front desk and they transferred our call to housekeeping supervisor and we got a voicemail! My husband had to go downstairs to speak to that new hotel manager 3 times as the housekeeping staff didn't come for 30 minutes even though the manager said he will send someone immediately. Interestingly, when my husband talked to that new hotel manager the 3rd time that no one came to clean our room yet, the manager said that the housekeeping supervisor just told him that it was done! Unbelievable! The housekeeping staff finally came and when I opened the door, she asked me, "Do you need something?" I was speechless. I told her that we can no longer have the room cleaned this late night as it was 9pm on Christmas Eve! This whole experience on Christmas Eve at Edgewood Resort in Lake Tahoe was horrible. No sincere apology from anyone from this resort. At this point, we are not expecting anything from this place. Also, our interaction with the guest service manager, Sal, was not pleasant at all. What a shame that this beautiful property has such a poor customer service.

Yelp
Previously, I wrote a 2 star review for Edgewood and am revising to 3 stars and an update. A few things could have been done to push it up to 4 stars (not to mention, I'm a harsh critic and take a lot into consideration) Yelp caps the text limitation on here so I can't get into all the details. Stayed at Edgewood during mid June as my partner and I were attending a wedding taking place on a boat at a nearby Marina. Originally there were issues with our booking which were dragged on for quite some time where we ended up getting the runaround. 2 weeks after our stay, I ended up speaking to Ben who fixed the problem immediately and came to a good resolution. I wish that I could have spoken to Ben prior to our arrival in order to save time and stress. The rooms are nice but a little small for the price. The housekeeper was great and went above and beyond. One thing that would have been better would have been if instead of turning on the tv, they turn on the fireplace instead. The front desk and concierge seemed a bit clueless about nearby activities and pointed us in various directions. A good tip is to not use the local taxis or the VIP airport transfer - these cost way more than Uber and Lyft plus there isn't any added benefit. The concierge set up some things for us but booked things incorrectly which was frustrating- an example is she booked the wrong date for us at Edgewood restaurant. One of the biggest perks about the resort is the free transportation to/from within a specified radius. The transportation is very fast, courteous, and a big money saver. The drivers are very fast and friendly; not to mention they seemed much more knowledgeable about nearby places than the front desk and concierge. Some things that would have made the stay a 4 star rating would have been if our issue was resolved earlier by being pointed in the right direction rather then getting the runaround. The general manager Ben was of great help in the end and was able to resolve the issue quickly after explaining what had happened. It would have been stress free if we managed to work with Ben from the start It would also have been better if staff were more knowledgeable about the area. At one point while we were out, I called the resort and asked about nearby upscale restaurants as we were out and already dressed up. They gave us the name of 2 restaurants which they thought were upscale but they were far from upscale and no dress code. Hopefully next time if we come to Lake Tahoe and choose to stay here, I'll be bumping up the rating.

Yelp
AMAZING PLACE in Tahoe! I wish I could keep this place hidden just to avoid a lot of traffic and a lot of people booking ... but this is the Best place to stay in Tahoe for luxury, relaxation, views, SERVICE that is the best in the US from that hotel staff... I loved everything about this place, mostly everything.. the spa is not to my liking.. has less options, not great service and smaller compared to the luxury standards of this place... ummm.. I have seen better there.. so Spa.. is a Okay! The bar is great, has some really good cocktails. The front desk folks are super nice and sweet.. they have a shuttle service to and fro to the surrounding areas and it's complimentary (yay)! I would go there again... except it is definitely expensive.. so keep that in mind. I just the love it.. reviewed on Tripdvisor, on Instagram and now Yelp... can't stop it!! Can't wait to go back again this year... *fingers crossed*

Yelp
One word: Magical From the moment you drive through the gated doors you know this place is something special. We checked in with security who opened the front gates. We drove through a massive property surrounded by snow and was greeted by the valet and bell boy. The front desk staff were friendly and professional, giving us a smooth check in and a glass of champagne for each of us. We were escorted to our rooms by the bellboy. The room - spacious, comfortable bed equipped with a desk, fridge, fireplace, coffee table, chair, and an end of the bed chaise sofa chair. Bathroom - huge tub, separate shower, and separate toilet room. They even put two little stools under the sink (which is great for kids who can't reach the sink). Man the details!! Complimentary - Apres sleep cart in morning that has fresh juices, granola, muffins. We had complimentary hot chocolate and s'mores during Christmas time. They also have complimentary yoga class in mornings but I didn't get to try it this time. Restaurants - the bistro (downstairs in lobby) with great food and drinks; brooks bar and deck is in the building next door - it was a more casual ambience restaurant with less menu selection but great portions and taste; the Edgewood restaurant is the fanciest of the three - haven't tried but I'm sure it'll be delicious. Spa - $$$ but it was definitely the most comfortable massage bed I've been on. Business room - downstairs in lobby behind the concierge desk. Two computers and a printer. Open 24/7. Gym - first floor. 24/7. Resort fee - $45/night Parking - $20/night I can't wait to stay here again!

Yelp
Second time booking our stay with Edgewood Resort, will be back again. Valet is great, room service is always quicker than quoted - food comes out quick at The Bistro, and never fails to impress. Views are awesome, and rooms are very thoughtfully designed and come with all sorts of conveniences you won't find at anything other than 5 star resorts. (Bath bombs, Q-tips, makeup removing rounds, light up cosmetic mirrors, etc). I could go on and on about the little things offered like the breakfast cart having fresh pressed green juice as an option, etc..... we only visit once a year but it is one of the things I really look forward to now. Thanks Edgewood for a lovely stay.

Yelp
Ok, to qualify this - this place is NOT cheap. Trying to compare this to one of the dozens of motels along 50 at state line doesn't compare. My wife didn't tell me until long after the visit what the $ amount was. With that said, this is hands down the nicest/fancyist/best place to stay at state line. They have everything you need at the resort so - short of gambling/boating/skiing, you don't have to leave the property. We happened stay there during the fires in the fall of 2020 (and pandemic) so the views weren't there and the air quality was very bad. We ate at all of the resturants, got coffee every morning and had drinks by the pool, on the beach and in the bar. Rooms are fantastic, staff fantastic. You know one thing that I loved - when I called about bring the car up when we were headed out for the day - they responded immediately - small thing - I realize but a pet peeve when we stay in SF . Can recommend - will repeat.

Yelp
Front desk Paula should have different job- I cannot believe a person with that attitude works at the front desk of a hotel. Imagine your moody 15 year old at the desk. Our room was late- their excuse "check in is from 4pm onwards but not guaranteed" No pool service after 5pm in the summer- just horrible all around with service. Hotel is beautiful, well kept. Service is not on par with a luxury experience and when confronted about it, none one did anything.

Yelp
To follow up our review, i spoke with Brian from Edgewoods management team this afternoon and discussed our issues. I am very impressed with his professional manor and resolution to our situation. With that being said and with the actions taken i would recommend The Lodge at Edgewood because they listened to our grievance and apologize. You do not find that alot these days and it means a lot to us. Thank you Brian and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Yelp
This review is long overdue! This place is probably on the top of my list when visiting Lake Tahoe. They have the most amazing views. So serene and peaceful. I love the interior and the architecture of the place. We were there over Christmas and New Year, so the decor was even lovelier. The beautifully decorated tree, gingerbread house.... Although it wasn't quite snowing, it was still absolutely perfect. They have amazing customer service. From the valet to the front desk to the coffee/gift shop, bar and restaurant; we were definitely thrilled to be there. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous as well!!! I have nothing but great things to say about this place and will definitely make it there at least once a year. Til next time!
