The 24 Best Things to Do in San Francisco

"Edible Excursions is run by a team of expert guides obsessed with San Francisco, food, and showing off Japantown. Small groups walk and nibble, sip and savor, for around two hours while hearing stories about the neighborhood and meeting family-run business owners. This is a neighborhood where you can't be afraid to step through doors because behind them teems friendly people, delicious foods, and a community passionate about their heritage and culture. At first, Japantown appears quiet, but once inside a restaurant, a grocery store, or even a mall, your perception changes. For curious visitors and backyard travelers who want to learn more about San Francisco’s Japantown, its history, and its food, and for anyone who loves trying dishes they might not make or find at home, this is a can't-miss." - Kimberley Lovato, Carey Jones

Edible Excursions: Japantown Food Tour — Tour Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Zoom out. What’s the big picture here?    Edible Excursions is run by a team of expert guides obsessed with San Francisco, food, and showing off Japantown. Small groups walk and nibble, sip and savor, for around two hours while hearing stories about the neighborhood and meeting family-run business owners. Tell us about your fellow tourees. The group was a melting pot of tourists, residents, older couples, young singles, and friends who wanted to eat around one of the city’s most underrated neighborhoods. How are the guides?   Complete pro! She knew the subject, the area, and the owners of the places we'd be visiting. It was clear most knew her too and that she had been there before. Anything you’ll be remembering weeks or months or years from now?      This is a neighborhood where you can't be afraid to step through doors because behind them teems friendly people, delicious foods, and a community passionate about their heritage and culture. At first, Japantown appears quiet, but once inside a restaurant, a grocery store, or even a mall, your perception changes. So: money, time—how can we make the most of both? For curious visitors and backyard travelers who want to learn more about San Francisco’s Japantown, its history, and its food, and for anyone who loves trying dishes they might not make or find at home." - Kimberley Lovato

Google
Great tour, we really enjoyed it! It started with a brief history of Japantown, proceeded to various authentic restaurants, a grocery store and an origami place at the mall. So many new tastes and flavors! We had an awesome time and would definitely recommend it to everyone!

If you’re looking for a truly memorable food adventure in San Francisco, this tour is a must! It’s not just about sampling delectable dishes; it’s an immersive journey into the heart of the city’s culinary scene. The tour was impeccably organized, offering a seamless blend of sweet and savory stops that highlighted the diversity and richness of local flavors. What set this experience apart was the behind-the-scenes stories into the passionate individuals behind each dish. Our guide was not only knowledgeable but also genuinely engaging. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this tour is an exceptional way to explore San Francisco’s food culture and discover hidden gems you might otherwise miss. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to indulge their taste buds and enrich their understanding of the city’s gastronomic landscape!

I had the chance to take the Ferry Building tour with Tori yesterday, and it was truly amazing. She shared fascinating history about the building, and we even got to meet several of the farmers market vendors and hear their stories. The tasting experience was a total adventure—full of exciting flavors and new discoveries. My favorite tasting of the day was the mushroom taco from Mi Comedor! The handmade tortilla had incredible texture, and the mushroom and kale filling was bursting with flavor—I can’t even begin to describe how good it was. Another standout was the Crunchwrap from Señor Sisig—absolutely a must-try! You’ll leave the tour with a full belly and some new knowledge. How special is that?

Alice gave our small group a wonderful tour of Japantown and we tasted the many foods along the way. I have walked through the malls on my own over the years, but now I know a lot more about the Japantown history, Japanese food and enjoyed the walk around the supermarket too. I would never have known to try some of the specialities. I now feel more prepared for an upcoming trip to Japan. It felt like a nice vacation day, experiencing new things. You won't go away hungry...

Three of us very much enjoyed our walking tour of North Beach. Our guide Michela was personable, informative about local history, and brought us to many delicious food establishments. She was also flexible with us regarding pace and other preferences. We all loved it and highly recommend this tour.

Google
I would highly recommend this tour! Was in town for a wedding and had a few spare hours and wanted to visit the area. Lisa accommodated our 2 vegan guests with delicious options. Rebecca was a super guide. We learned alot about the origin of the farm-to-table movement, ate the most delicious foods, and strolled around the lovely neighborhood of North Berkeley taking in all its flavor. 5 stars plus!!

Google
Really Enjoyed this tour! Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable! The food was delicious! We were so full and enjoyed getting our steps in as well! Great job Alie!

Google
Tori gave a wonderful and delicious tour of the Ferry Building eateries. It was fun, well paced, and highlighted the quality and variety of the independent restaurants and farmers market. I highly recommend for visitors to SF and locals.

Yelp
I used Edible Excursions for an Intern Social Event and it went above and beyond my expectations! We went on the Japantown Food Tour and our tour guide Alice was so wonderful. It was the perfect balance of learning about Japantown's history, eating tasty bites (and a full bowl of ramen!!) and even hearing personal stories from our guide about the Japanese communities in San Francisco. Our group had a mix of people who are familiar with Japantown and some of the stops we went to and first timers, and everyone left the tour feeling so full (definitely be sure to have an empty stomach at the start of this tour!) and amazed at how much they learned about the Japanese American community from our guide. I highly recommend this tour for anyone planning intern/corporate events, people new to the city and wanting to learn more about the communities you're touring, or even if you're a local and have been there before because you might learn something new like a few of us!

Yelp
Fun activity to eat, learn and experience! We did a 4pm tour at the ferry plaza building and it was a nice replacement for dinner. The tour guide was informative and fun while mixing in tastings throughout. Highly recommended experience!

Caitlin V.

Yelp
We used Edible Excursions for their Farmers Market tour as an event during a corporate retreat. The tour was lovely-perfect amount of food, wonderful selection. Our guide Michaela was excellent as well! The whole team was communicative, flexible, and went above and beyond to make it a great morning for us.

Cece R.

Yelp
This food tour was the BEST! We went for a corporate team activity, and it was the best decision we could have made. Our tour guide, Joshua, was so kind, knowledgeable, professional, and had so many awesome stories to tell about the city, it's good, and his own life! The places we stopped at were truly so good - we got food and drinks at each of the stops and they all offered a different, unique type of cuisine. What I loved about the tour was that we stopped at local restaurants I would have never thought to try on my own, but would now go back to 100%! If you're in SF and want a way to explore the city (specifically the mission), bond with your team or friends, and eat like a local, Edible Excursions is the way to go!

Yelp
We greatly enjoyed this outing in North Beach with Brian. He is quite the raconteur, with a story for every sight along the way. He's passionate about his own neighborhood and corny in a pleasant way about his jokes. Very engaging experience, and we learned a lot about both local history and cannoli.
google avatar

Kerry D.

Yelp
I organized this event as a team-building activity and we had the most incredible time. It was seamlessly organized and had just the right balance of information with all the delectable foods. We work across the street from the Ferry Building, yet many people mentioned that they hadn't tried some spots we visited. It was a casual, low-key way to connect with my colleagues and wonderful exposure to the gems hidden within the Building. I would definitely recommend this tour especially our guide, Tori (she made everything come alive). It was a great experience!

Yelp
Edible Excursions planned a fun, engaging and (most importantly) tasty virtual cocktail making class for my team's holiday celebration. All the coordination leading up to the class was easy and smooth, and Edible Excursions took care of boxing and shipping all the ingredients needed for the cocktail recipes to nearly a dozen team members spread out all over the country. They came in cute little bottles with custom-made labels -- it's these nice little touches that made the experience feel super customized and high touch for our team. Dolly the bartender was delightful. She's not only a great instructor full of endless useful knowledge about spirits and cocktails (had great answers to all our nonstop questions) but she was also super fun and a natural at what she does. It was a joy learning from her!

Yelp
I worked with Edible Excursions to schedule our staff post-holiday party. Amy was our contact. She was so helpful, great communication & timely. Amy took care of all the details which made it perfect & easy for me to work with. Joshua was our tour guide for the SF Ferry Building. He was so delightful, knowledgeable & FUN our entire group couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had! I plan on scheduling another tour with Edible Excursions very soon!

Yelp
This review is for the private food tour my husband and I were privileged to have taken with Lisa in JapanTown in San Francisco back in October of 2023. Lisa was outstanding and extremely knowledgeable about the many restaurants, shops, and nuances of J-Town. She has built many strong relationships with private shop owners with whom she has developed a very reputable rapport, and it was truly enjoyable to get to know them and hear stories of their origins as well as how they met Lisa and/or what was new with the shops since Lisa last saw them. We ate so many delicious snacks, side dishes, sweets, and even an entire bowl of ramen! I absolutely enjoyed the to-go box that was put together for us from Super Mira Market and the incredible crumb cake from a bakery inside the store. We mostly enjoyed getting to know Lisa and learning about her background in the food industry, her impacting career, and even her family. She made the tour absolutely enjoyable and memorable because of her warm personality, her very good taste in choice of foods for us to try, and her expertise all around. Thank you for one of our favorite experiences, Lisa!

Yelp
We had a small team building event and did the Mission Street Tour. From the initial contact with the administrative team to schedule our event, to our day of experience - Everything was Fantastic! Our guide, Paul showered us with his knowledge of the Mission area, SF and food. He also introduced us to some incredible mural art while we were walking between restaurants. Highly recommend this tour and definitely go hungry! There's so much delicious food all along the tour.

Yelp
I found Edible Excursions' virtual cocktail making class toward the end of 2020 and have been attending ever since. I've tried a lot of other online cocktail experiences but this one is by far the best and my favorite- the drinks are delicious and Dolly (the bartender) is very engaging and a really great teacher but what sets this one apart is that you get to be actively involved! Lisa (founder of EE) encourages participants to keep their audio on, ask questions, and give feedback throughout the class which truly makes this more of a social event- very similar to one of their (pre-covid) walking food tours. Dolly sources the best of the best alcohol- often local- and creates unique and delicious mixers to pair with her original cocktail recipes, more than a few we have continued to re-create. In recent months, they began offering a food pairing along with the virtual class which truly makes this a fabulous indoor date night! Even though we are vaccinated and the world is opening up again, I will continue to do these classes as they are oh so tasty, super fun, and always a highlight of my weekend.

Yelp
My family (6 of us) really enjoyed our SF food tour with Edible Excursions. We did the Ferry Building / Farmer's Market tour. Lisa was an awesome host -- knowledgeable and she kept things interesting. None of us knew much about that part of San Francisco, so it was a great excuse to see a lively part of SF that we had never seen. Food was delicious and we were all stuffed by the end of the tour. We took this tour in Dec 2021, so masks were required inside the ferry building unless you were eating. Much of the tour is outside, with no mask requirement. We'll definitely sign up for a different tour with Edible Excursions the next time we're in the area.

Yelp
My coworkers and I chose the Ferry Building tour for our recent team off-site. We all live in San Francisco and have been to the Ferry Building numerous times so we weren't expecting much but it is close to our office so we thought it was an easy option (plus we lucked out and found a great deal on Groupon). We were pleasantly surprised at how interesting and enjoyable the tour with Tori was. We were expecting sample size bites from the vendors but everything we had was full size (and they were incredibly accommodating for our vegetarian needs in my group). We definitely left pleasantly full. You'll get a little history on the building and details on many of the businesses. Really made me appreciate all the farmers and natural resources we are lucky to have so close to San Francisco. Tori was charming and very knowledgable, you can tell she has a real passion for the food, artisans and preserving the heritage of the building. I will definitely be recommending this tour to my out of town guests!

Yelp
Had the most enjoyable time with Travis on the Mission 24th tour. Travis is very knowledgeable of the history behind the city and the tour is well-paced. We had a big group of 9 and started a little late - total time was a little over 3 hours. Booking was very easy over the phone. What the tour included: Coffee from Philz Mini cupcake at Mission Minis Celery soda and pastrami sandwich at Wise Sons Walk through Balmy Street Murals Huarache and chips/salsa at La Palma Pork and cheese pupusa and jamaica juice at D'Maize Horchata (or aqua fresca) and al pastor taco at El Farlito Scoop of ice cream from Humphry Slocombe Everything we tasted was delicious! My favorite was the huarache from La Palma. Overall an amazing experience and worth the price! Definitely come hungry! I will be back for another tour soon

Yelp
This time, my fiancé and I went on the SF Japantown food tour. Our guide, Alice Kawahatsu, was absolutely amazing!!!!! Not only was all the food delicious, she was able to give us historical/cultural context which we thoroughly enjoyed. We originally wondered how a Japantown food tour would take three hours but the time honestly flew by and we actually ran over the scheduled time. My fiancé kept raving about how awesome Japantown was and how we needed to come back more often so I guess SF Japantown (with Alice's awesome guide skills) won him over! We really enjoyed our conversations with Alice and we hope to go on a tour with Edible Excursions again. Definitely recommend :) thanks again Alice!
google avatar

Bonnie G.

Yelp
Alice made our food tour in Japantown so great. We shuffled from udon to ramen to mochi to sushi to even dosas and beyond with her warmth and hospitality. She's accommodating, curious, open to questions and easy to spend two hours on a Saturday with. Plus, we met the sweetest two women in our group that we hung out with and talked to for over an hour at the final restaurant. From info on the sculptures to the neighborhood's history, Alice was a major part of why the day was so fun. Thank you Alice!!!
google avatar

Brandon R.

Yelp
Great food and tour guide at Mission 24th Travis Monson was a great guide telling the history of the Mission district. I ate the best pastrami ever at Wise Sons! We stopped at several Mexican restaurants to have tacos and other dishes. We stopped at s fish place where they provided a generous serving of clam chowder. The tour ended with ice cream! Travis also showed us some interesting murals. Overall I thought it was a great experience
google avatar

Ro R.

Yelp
Rebecca is amazing!!!! She's so knowledgable and she gave us so many fun pieces of background knowledge and history that made it very enjoyable. We did the Berkeley Gourmet Ghetto tour. The samples are quite large, and it definitely fills you up. She was so sweet- there were two birthdays on our tour and she went out of her way to have a little cake and candle surprise for them. Definitely go with edible excursions if you want a unique culinary experience. ask for rebecca!
google avatar

Jenny Z.

Yelp
So much fun! I took the 16th street Mission tour, which was great fun. I really appreciated that the tour guides were flexible with level of engagement with the content or the food -- you can engage as much as it makes you comfortable/interested! Do be sure to pace yourself! Many participants on our group had to tap out after the first or second restaurant, which really was a shame.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
A very fun and informative tour! We enjoyed the Japantown tour with Alice as our guide and we would recommend this to our friends. Come hungry because the tour includes lots of food, drinks, and dessert!!

Sara T.

Yelp
Edible Excursions organized a special food and history walking tour of the mission for our high school group. Wow! We loved learning from our guide, Lisa. The tour was wonderful all around. Strongly recommend for all occasions. We can't wait for our next tour with Edible Excursions!

Ben H.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time at the SF Ferry building tour! If you get the chance to have Rebecca as your guide do yourself a favor and make sure you do! You could tell she loves food and man was she knowledgeable. Tried throwing her a few curveballs but she knew it all! My wife and I were worried it could be loud and too many people but were pleasantly surprised the building was busy but not packed, and it was just us and Rebecca, apparently something they will do for return customers, though she said tours tend to range from 4-10 people, we felt spoiled just the two of us. At one point we had a few extra minutes and Rebecca went beyond herself, buying some fresh oranges and a blood orange- the best we had ever had- on her own dime! Thank you for an awesome time! We will certainly do more of these in the future and highly recommend!
google avatar

Isabelly S.

Yelp
Our tour guide, Henry, was amazing! So friendly and let us know everything about the food, places and history. We were able to taste cheeses, bread, ice cream, chocolates... so much fun and yummy!

Susan M.

Yelp
Spent a very rainy March morning with Joshua on the Ferry Building Tour. Most of the tour is inside so it is actually a great activity year round. I have been on almost all the tours, they are all great. Also, I have used Edible Excursions on 2 private tours for my team. Cannot recommend them any higher. I had not really considered the Ferry Building Tour since I work only a few blocks away, but I am glad I finally did. It was really interesting to hear all the history and back stories. I did not know that Miette and Blue Bottle shared history or how much influence Alice Water had, or the waves of coffee- saving us from Folgers, happened in the Bay area. The 2 hours went by very fast. Joshua was able to accommodate my vegan/vegetarian friend and when she could not come (BART actually was shut down that morning) I got to take home her portions with me. Except for the parts I ate..not sorry. I was lucky enough to have Joshua on a 24th Street tour a few years ago and was happy to have another tour led by him.

Edny I.

Yelp
We had an amazing time for our virtual Women's Forum social event. This mixology course was the most fun we've had as a group within the safety of our own homes. We loved that this business is female founded and staffed and they were so lovely to share some of their challenges in the pandemic that were very relatable across industries. All of the kids arrived on time via local courier, mail, or Hawker Fare pickup. The tiki themed menu Dolly created we amazing!
google avatar

Myrna K.

Yelp
This was such a fun tour and included not only history of the Ferry Building and the background on the eateries but delicious food selections. We were a group of 10 and so enjoyed it. Travis was a great and engaging guide. I can't wait to schedule my next tour. Make sure you are hungry. You will finish full!
google avatar

Monica A.

Yelp
Thank you Rebeca !!! I can't thank you enough for this experience I feel like I meet a long time friend you made the experience in Berkeley for the "Berkeley Gourmet Ghetto " excursión a one to remember i appreciate the food and the thought that goes behind each plate and the history behind every kitchen it's just amazing knowing what it took to create such an amazing plate , coffee , sandwich and wine ! Thank you so much again I am so happy I was able to experience this . And believe me this will not be our last one . Hope I can book again soon and have you as our tour guide thank sending you hugs from San Jose !

K R.

Yelp
Sanity saver. We joined at least 6 of these virtual parties and love it. Found some awesome recipes for cocktails we will be making it for the long haul. Our kids love the event as it gets them uninterrupted/guilt free screen time. Dolly puts on a show. Lisa manages the entire event and keeps it going. Always great to hear from the entrepreneurs who share some background on how they got started making the primary alcohol. If you feel trapped at house - do this.. as I said - sanity saver for sure.

Hailey A.

Yelp
This is a wonderful tour. We explored the ferry building and learned about its history and about many of the food vendors. I really appreciate our amazing guide Rebecca. She was very knowledgeable about everything. She was so much fun to chat with about how food is grown or made and the history of how it came to be in the ferry building. We ate so much food on this tour. My favorite was the bread and cheese. I plan on taking the Other tours offered because I loved this one so much.
google avatar

Lucrecia F.

Yelp
We coordinated an office excursion (Employee Appreciation event) w/Edible Excursions to tour the Ferry Building. Process was pretty easy as they walked me through how it would all work and were flexible as far as a start time for the tour. We (party of 20) arrived at the Ferry Building and Tori/Emunah took care of our group. I was in Emunah's group and she was awesome. She explained the history of the vendors we visited and was very accommodating to our individual needs. We had a number of very tasty treats that kept us going and wanting more. I received feedback the next day from everyone saying that they really enjoyed the afternoon outing. We all look forward to exploring different areas of our City w/the help of Edible Excursions! Big thanks to Tori and Emunah!!!! I hope to see you guys again soon.

Josie S.

Yelp
Super fun afternoon with Edible Excursions in Berkeley with Rebecca. I learned so much about the history of the "Gourmet Ghetto" and got to sample incredible food, coffee, wine and everything in between. I highly recommend you sign up for this tour so that you may get to enjoy some of the best places to eat and drink in Berkeley.

S. F. H.

Yelp
I booked Edible Excursions for a virtual holiday cocktail party for my team at work. We were late to schedule but the coordinator Amy went out of her way to get us booked and have the cocktail kits shipped across the country just in time. The class itself was amazing (loved Dolly the bartender from Holy Mountain SF) and all the logistics went off without a hitch. I will definitely look to do future events with this group!
google avatar

Stacey L.

Yelp
I've been on many food tours in the city and Edible Excursions is great! It's great for a team build with colleagues or fun day out with family or friends. You get to try so much food and learn about new places! I've been on the Japantown (my favorite), Ferry Building, Mission 18th Street, and Mission 24th Street tours. The tours are well organized and run smoothly. The tour guides are friendly, knowledgeable, and always open to questions. I've planned several private tours and Rose is always a pleasure to work with. Lisa, the owner, is awesome and I've been lucky to go on 2 tours with her so far...hopefully more! The tour flies by because it's so much fun. You won't leave hungry, that's for sure!
google avatar

Mel A.

Yelp
Excellent Japantown tour starting with a tea ceremony! We loved learning from our guide Lisa as well as eating so many tasty items! We felt like we were with an expert in more than just local food, but architecture,

Daniel J.

Yelp
This review is for the Japantown Tour: Alice is a great tour guide. In my mind, she's the mayor of Japantown. As a resident and neighbor of Japantown who commands presence on her tours, Alice will lead you with great confidence towards culinary delights that are truly authentic and world class. A tour with Alice is something to be missed. I've had the pleasure of living near Japantown for 5 years before I went on this tour, and I was blown away. I myself have been a tour guide in San Francisco on the double-decker buses for a few years, but on this tour I was the one learning. Thanks Alice and Edible Excursions!
google avatar

Nina S.

Yelp
I planned our department offsite activity with Edible Excursions, and we chose a 2.5-3 hour Japantown food tour. Our tour guide was Lisa, and she was well-read, funny, and overall entertaining. I would highly recommend her. She was part of creating the tour about seven years back, so she knew a lot of history. She also had great recommendations for food places. This was a great activity for a diverse group of individuals with different interests. I recommend taking the Japantown tour, because it isn't a highly populated area. The food is authentic and the culture is omnipresent. Overall, great experience!
google avatar

Kat R.

Yelp
My neighbor and i (from 6 feet apart) joined a virtual cocktail with French summer cocktails and it was super fun. Dolly was a great teacher, the cocktails were unique and delicious and the overall experience was a fabulous way to start a Saturday evening. Im not a big drinker so what's even more awesome is you pick up all of the necessary ingredients at Hawker Fare and they come in these cute little vials with just the right amount and accurately labeled so i didn't need to buy excess alcohol i would maybe never use again... though i did discover a love of Armagnac.

Yelp
On Tuesday, my friends and I joined Tori for an Edible Excursion through the historic Ferry Building in SF. This wasn't my first food tour, nor will it be my last, but it was one of the best! Tori was an excellent guide, the vendors were each fabulous in their own way (yum), and there was pLenty to eat. Whether local or visiting from afar, Edible Excursions is a great way to spend a few hours, to entertain a few friends, and to learn about the history of a place. Five stars!

Benjamin S.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour with our super duper guide Santino who brought us to all his favorite places! The food was good. Pastrami was memorable and the ice cream was incredible but Santino was our group's favorite! Highly recommend this tour and Santino.

Julia J.

Yelp
I received the Berkeley Brunch Tour as a gift and I couldn't be happier with my experience!! The tour was well thought out and fabulously executed and we got to try SO MUCH good food, definitely worth the price point. Major shout out to Rebecca our guide who was so considerate, fun, and full off food and history facts. Such a great excursion and hope to do one again some day!

Aaron C.

Yelp
My company had a group outing with Edible Excursions for a their 24th street food tour. This was the second time I did the tour, the first was with family. The tour is an amazing blend of tasty food samples, history, art, and meeting locals. We were a group of 30, and people raved afterwards about how great the food was. The restaurants we visited were very friendly and seemed to enjoy the visitors and getting a chance to explain their histories and favorite items. We will definitely be going back to try some of the other tours.

Yelp
Went on the Temsecal brews and bites tour in oakland. My wife and her friends had a blast. Our tour guide Paul was amazing , very knowledgeable about the neighborhood and beers we had. The food was amazing the beer was better. You leave with a great feeling and a full stomach. I will definitely be trying the other tours, and most likely will do another tour with Paul since their are so many more places he wanted to show us.

Malachi G.

Yelp
I went on a food tour of the Ferry Building in SF for a "staff fun day" with my co-workers. Everyone left happy and full. The walking was manageable even for those in our group with mobility impairments. Our guide was AWESOME. Karen Solomon read our group so well setting a chill pace and remembering folks likes and dietary needs. Karen really knows her stuff re: SF history and incorporating it was such a cool extra plus. I'm so excited to do another one of their tours!

Yelp
My office did the Uptown Oakland tour on Aug 15th as a team building event. When I first booked the tour, I was a bit hesitant about the price as it's quite expensive compared to other tours I've done. But, you truly get what you pay for! While most tours give you a taste (literally one bite per stop), we had so much food we weren't able to eat it all! The food was delicious and filling and as I found out, totally worth the price. Our guide, Sarah Henry, was extremely knowledgable and fun to be with. She was great at letting us have our own space to chit chat and then jumped right in when the conversation lulled with fun bits of info. I was really impressed and can't say enough good things about her. I hope all your tour guides are like Sarah!

Evelyn G.

Yelp
Mission district with Santino. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Perfect fit for our group. Great knowledge of the area and the food. Very impressed. We got to learn about the history of this great neighborhood.

Yelp
Our party of four did the San Francisco Japantown tour with Alice, and it was a really fun experience! Alice is a gem and provided great insight into the history of Japantown and how it has evolved over the years. The tour was well paced, and all the food provided was delicious. My girlfriend and I discovered that we had more in common with Alice than we thought, as we all lived in the same SF neighborhood and went to the same high school at one point. What a small world! We would definitely recommend this tour to others (even native San Franciscans) to gain a broader perspective of this wonderful community! Thanks again, Alice!

Yelp
Recently took the Mission - 24th Street Tour with Travis and had a wonderful time. I've lived in the Bay Area for 30 years and was introduced to some places I've never been. What an afternoon of exploration and enjoyment--both culinary and visual. Learned fascinating history and ate deliciously along the way. As a birthday gift for a friend, it was much more memorable than a sweater or a pair of earrings.

Yelp
Just finished the Temescal Tour in Oakland with Sarah Harvey! Such an amazing experience! Sarah shows such passion and love of the neighborhood. We stopped at Juhu Beach Club, the Temescal Farmers Market for fish tacos and pastries at Starters, Sacred Wheel for crazy good grilled mac and cheese and tomato soup, Ethiopian, and Bowl'd for bibimbap. Great history lesson and education, too. Made great memories! Pace yourselves so you can take advantage of all the diversity Temescal has to offer. This is a great experience for locals and visitors to the Bay!

Yelp
Karen led us on a "foodie tour" of the mission district to six locations. She was a knowledgeable and fun guide who incidentally has written a book on Asian Pickles. she moved us along yet gave ample time to enjoy. Great fun.

Yelp
I booked this tour for the Alcatraz tickets, as many others do. Tori was a great guide and really made the morning so enjoyable. The tour of the Ferry Building was great. Fantastic introduction and history of the building. Samples of cheese/bread, chili, chocolate, spring roll and other items. A short stroll down to the pier for the ferry. Highly recommended!
