Where to Eat and Drink in Sylvan Park

"If someone’s looking for good barbecue in Nashville, they’ve likely come across the Edley’s name. The classic smokehouse menu includes ribs, pork, brisket, chicken, and turkey, paired with indulgent sides like macaroni and cheese, grits casserole, and baked beans. No matter what platter visitors choose, every meal at Edley’s is best rounded out with a scoop of banana pudding." - Kellie Walton

Took a minute to order, but we enjoyed every second of it. Very very busy and a little tricky to find parking (but that's just Nashville, I guess). Great atmosphere and service overall. The smoked chicken was EXCELLENT and so was the banana pudding - wanted to try the ribs, but we got there a little later in the evening and they were sold out.

Google
A few coworkers have been swearing by this place so I had to experience it for myself. From the fried pickles to the sampler plate of 3 different meats, this was some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to be back and enjoy more Edleys! 🧑‍🍳🍖🤤

We had a large party on Saturday, 9/28/24, at 5:30 pm. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. There was no wait because we got there so early, but it got packed. Fries were not listed on the menu, but they did have them and they were delicious. I got the Brisket Platter ($21). The brisket was great! I got it with the Mac & Cheese (+$1), which was super good and the Bean Salad because I didn’t know they had fries. Wouldn’t get the Bean Salad again. I also got corn bread and that was good too! The kids meal is such a good deal! The BBQ Sandwich was $4.50 for the sandwich, a side, and a drink! And it was enough for an adult portion! Everyone enjoyed what they got, including their cocktails! They have plenty of TVs to watch sports. Highly recommend!

Google
This was the one stop we made as we drove through Nashville. We ordered the brisket tacos, banana pudding, catfish tacos, and mini corn dogs for the kids. Banana pudding - 10/10! The only place thar has pudding that compares to this is Magnolia's banana pudding in NYC. Truly top notch! Cat fish tacos - 10/10 my wife said these were the best fish tacos she's has since visiting Hawaii a few years back. Super fresh and light. Brisket tacos - 8/10. The taco combination was great, with a nice mix of fresh toppings. However, the brisket didn't have that much smoke flavor, which was disappointing. Kids loved the mini corn dogs and ate two plates of them. Overall, great experience and nice atmosphere!

Google
Best BBQ I’ve had! Everyone in there was so friendly the manager knew we were from out of town she came over and introduced herself and even gave us a seasoning to take home. We’ll definitely order more when we run out. Before we left back to Pa we went back and got food to go and took it home. This will definitely be our go to spot whenever we’re in Nashville again.

Google
Absolutely amazing spot! If it’s your first time, don’t miss out — they offer complimentary banana pudding, which is such a sweet gesture. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. The food? Simply outstanding! The brisket plate and ribs were top-notch… but hands down, the smash burger stole the show. One of the best I’ve had anywhere. Thank you, Edley’s team — can’t wait to come back!

Google
so glad i picked this place for a pulled pork sandwich run - i loved the nashville style twist! the banana pudding was the real star of the show, let's be honest. will absolutely be back!

Google
The food was really good, and the price was fair. This is high-end quality barbecue at its best, worthy of the price. Their service was amazing considering how crowded they were. We were there on a Friday night. Their manager even came out to our table and talked to us which I thought was amazing. They were kind and attentive. Amazing atmosphere, great for the family.

Yelp
Edley's is seriously committed to single-use plastics: glasses, knives, forks, spoons, bowls. Plastic doesn't pair well with $8 draft beers. Not a good place for environmentally aware people.
google avatar

Kathie H.

Yelp
Edley's has the best BBQ food in the WORLD! I've never had a bad meal there. I especially love the burnt ends. Service is "help yourself" and I don't mind at all. A lot of times, I like to help myself when wait staff is busy. You order at the counter when you come in. You're given an order number for your table and your glass for your beverage. Find yourself a table and your food is brought to you and you help yourself to your beverage. I haven't ordered anything from the bar, so I can't help there.

Yelp
I ordered the Catfish Platter with Potato Salad & Baked Beans. While everything tasted great the serving size of the Catfish was much smaller than the usual (I order this meal every time I go) The manager however did ask if everything looked ok, I was already running late already and didn't have time to wait.

Yelp
Great, amazing service and the food is awesome. Did I mention the service? It's amazing!!!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible, even though I'm from California and don't know what "real" southern BBQ tastes like, I was sincerely bowled over by everything I tasted. My family ordered the limited-time BBQ lamb pita, the brisket sandwich, the avocado salad with turkey, and the fried okra. Wow, just wow! It was so dang good and we were stuffed afterward. Huge portions, extremely hospitable service and a really fun, open atmosphere... what more can you ask for?? Oh, and the prices were average. Overall a great experience!

Yelp
A BBQ that runs out of 5 of 7 types of meat is a little ridiculous and very disappointing.

Yelp
Visited Edley's during our weekend visit to Nashville and heard great local as well as online reviews. Upon arriving we had to figure out where to order we ended up getting a brisket platter with banana pudding and bean salad along with a full slab of ribs with mac and cheese and baked beans. Both served with corn bread and a soft drink. Unfortunately, since we sat outside we were over looked and our order took longer than expected. Once we received our food we were immediately attacked by a swamp of flies and fought to enjoy our food. The server was very nice and offered us complimentary desserts for our wait. Since the flies were so unbearable we packed our food up and took it back to our airbnb. Though our experience was not great the food was still good, please note the meat does not have a smoky flavor to them. Banana pudding is offered as a side, would recommend ordering two (very good!). Mac and cheese and baked beans were acceptable. Then the bean salad was different... P.S. they accidentally gave us green beans but were unable to taste them due to the flies (hope they enjoyed)

Yelp
Favorite bbq place. Food and sides were good. Staff was nice as well. I will definitely be coming back

Yelp
I came to Nashville for good BBQ and I will NOT be leaving disappointed!! Came here on a recommendation from a friend. This place had such a fun bbq vibe and the one staff member I interacted with was nice. The food was SO good. The ribs fell right off the bone and my other friends enjoyed their dishes. The real winner was the fried pickles. The website describes them as addicting and they are spot on with that description. Go here!

Yelp
Had lunch there today. Everything was excellent: Pork Platter, Potato Salad, Beans, Cornbread , all first rate. My wife had the Southern Salad with Pork and said it was delicious. Courteous, attentive service. Nice vibe in the restaurant. We asked ourselves why we didn't eat there more often. Going forward we will! My new favorite BBQ joint.
google avatar

Kim L.

Yelp
OMG - we had an amazing lunch (that will probably cover dinner as well!) Two platters - pork and brisket. Each comes with cornbread and two sides. We had Gouda grits, baked beans, slaw and potato salad. But the meat - the brisket was so tender, as well as came with a great smoke ring. The pork was also so tender, flavorful and just right! Gouda grits -why would anyone want Mac & cheese instead of this? The baked beans were also good, spicy and tender. Potato salad & coleslaw were great - not the traditional but so good. We enjoyed a couple of Pilsner's and are no so stuffed! We will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
I came here with my son-in-law for a quick lunch. We sat at the bar and had some BBQs and a bear. The pulled pork was delicious. I had the sauce on the side, as most usually come too sweet for me. This was almost perfect. The service from the bartender was good. And the place seemed fine for a BBQ joint. This is not going to win awards l, but for a quick bite and good BBQs, this place definitely works.

Yelp
Always delicious food and drinks. A great place to take the family who likes a little bit of everything. The casual environment is nice!

Amanda M A.

Yelp
Edleys food and atmosphere is always high frequency! From the time you place your order, to the descriptive menu, they Lways have very meal you can connect with
google avatar

Yelp
The greeting, the ambiance, the food... great way to end the day. Party of 3, we got the smoker sampler (good for 3-4 people). This item allows you to pick 3 meats and 4 sides. For the meat, we chose double ribs and the brisket. We got an additional order of the hot links which came with cheese and crackers. Our choices were the potato salad, mac&cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw. Our group had mixed opinions about the sides, but overall the food was divine and definitely worth a try (if not more). Dot. Forget to save a small spot for the banana pudding. Dig in!
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
A hidden gem of authentic bbq. Sides were amazing and portions were plentiful. The banana pudding is the best in Tennessee!

Yelp
Ib really want to love this place, but it has been a train wreck for me every time. Not the food so much as the experience. I waited until today to rate, hoping i just hit an off night. Food? New smash burger is good. They could cut back on the salt, but the combination of ingredients is nice. Sampler a bit underwhelming, but a decent deal to get a variety of meats. Really enjoyed the fried ribs - getting adds a nice crispyness to the smoked ribs without killing the rub tenderness. No pull left on the ribs, but i am great with fall of the bone. Each time I have come here, I have ended up eating alone after everyone else has finished. Tonight ( see screencap), it was a good 28 minutes after the plates for the rest of the party were set down. Even mentioned to my friends, who have been with me the previous 2 times, "let's see how long this takes". I am week aware I may just have bad luck. I also understand there is a possibility I am ordering more difficult items. But figured a daikt special with simple sides would finally be my win. For takeout, I would say "go for it" and rate 3-4 out of 5. For my experience, I find it hard to go above 2. Perhaps I will order the burger next time?

Yelp
Really good bbq joint in Nashville! We got the hot pork and brisket burnt ends platters were really smokey and offered generous portions. I definitely recommend the hot pork platter. The meat was so tender and soft, the softest I have ever had! The sauce was also good and completed so well. The burnet ends were a bit too burnt and charcoal-tasting to me, so I wouldn't get that again. The sides were also really on-point. The mac n cheese was peppery and tasty. The banana pudding tasted a bit too sweet and like candy banana to me. But it balanced out the bbq quite well. hot tip: try to get in before noon when the lunch rush comes in. We got in around 11:45 and there was no line, however at noon the line was out the door.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
We ordered to go and brought it home - so that could be a factor, but we didn't find Edley's all it was cracked up to be. The exception was the Hot Link appetizer. That was excellent - but I am a fan of pimento cheese. I loved the links / cheese / jalapeno / sauce / cracker combination. I would definitely recommend that to anyone. Quite large too. For dinners - we got the burnt ends and the hot chicken sandwich. My husband didn't feel the burnt ends were as good as other places he's gotten them in Chicago - and the cornbread was quite dry. We did like the grits casserole - that was yummy good. I thought the chicken sandwich was decent, but I certainly wouldn't call it spicy. I enjoyed the jalapeno ranch dressing with it, but again - not spicy.

Yelp
Amazing food, great relaxed atmosphere, and honestly some of the best BBQ around! The beer was tasty as well. Great place to visit!
google avatar

Alexis W.

Yelp
Alright, this is good but the price for the amount of food you get didn't make me happy. We ordered a wide variety of food for 6 people and by far the burnt ends took first place. The wings were pretty good too, but the BBQ nachos were WAY better. Great service, but very high priced.

Yelp
I started eating Edley's years ago at the East Nashville location when it first opened, but this one is my second favorite spot when I want that sweet bbq! Love the bbq sauce here. I also really like how you order at the counter and sit at the table after with your number instead of seeing a host to be seated... something about choosing my own table always makes the experience a bit better somehow. Oh and it's just more quick and convenient most of the time! I always always get the pork platter. It's my favorite! They aren't stingy with the portion of meat. The cornbread with the meal is oh so good! A bit of a hot kick, some pieces of peppers throughout, and slightly sweet. Which also really describes their baked beans side dish too honestly! The vinegar based coleslaw here is sweet and just perfectly tangy. We got an extra side order of Mac and cheese so my son could try it and it's also good. My son had the mini corn dog kids meal with fries on the side. He ate a lot of it and really enjoyed it with ketchup on the side. Fun vibes and good food. You just can't go wrong!

Yelp
Edley's Bar-B-Que is located across the street from Pancho & Lefty's. Look for the golden cow. Edley's Bar-B-Que has its own parking lot but is somewhat limited. My husband and I decided to eat here since it is so highly rated on Yelp (an overall rating of 4 stars of over 200 reviews). We came on a Saturday afternoon around 3:50 pm. Although the lot was nearly full (we got the last parking spot), we were surprised that it wasn't too crowded inside. After looking over the menu board, we ended up ordering: Brunt Ends Platter, $15.50 prior to tax- This meal comes with a side. My husband ended up picking grits, but I do want to mention that the burnt ends platter already comes with grits so my husband just got another helping (my husband didn't read the menu board closely. That's what happens what you don't pay attention to detail). The burnt ends were pretty good and quite tender. The grits were cheesy and buttery (so it wasn't so bad to get 2 sides of grits after all I suppose). This entree also came with a small side of pickles and corn bread. The corn bread had that nice gritty texture that you would expect and the corn flavor was found in each tasty bite. I think portion wise, this is a little on the small side and think others may find themselves hungry afterwards. 3 Side Combo, $6.50 prior to tax- The 3 sides I picked were the Green Beans, Banana Pudding, Brunswick Stew. I really love sides and so I decided to order this. I was surprised to see how small the sides were though. I thought the green beans were just okay but the brunswick stew was very hearty and flavorful. I really wished I had more of that. The banana pudding was also really good and would be happy with a larger portion. ------------------------ (Total= $25.79 after tax, prior to tip) Service was friendly and wait time for our meal to be delivered to our table was w/in 10 minutes (was surprised that it came out so quickly). We were given a number and placed it on our table after we paid for our items at the register. And then we sat ourselves. There is a bar close by the dine in seating area that had a few TVs on. This place was clean and so was the ladies restroom upon this visit. Overall, we enjoyed our food and would consider coming back here again.

Anne E.

Yelp
Used Edleys for a small business event I had. Food was a hit and they delivered set it all up and were pleasant to deal with. Will use again.

Matt F.

Yelp
This is some of the better BBQ I've ever had. The chicken was fall off the bone, smoky and saucy 9.1/10. The skin wasn't crispy, but it made up for that in flavor. The coleslaw was alright, very vinegary 7.4/10. The cornbread was pretty good 7.6/10.
google avatar

Corey L.

Yelp
Traditional vibe for a bbq joint. Wood decor in abundance. Nice looking bar! I had the hot pork which was not too hot; just the right amount of spice. My friend really enjoyed the Cole slaw even when his wife said "he never eats Cole slaw!" The neighborhood is very popular so don't be surprised if there's a wait.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Great location and parking is available both on street or a small lot behind the restaurant. Both inside and outside seating available. I love the pulled pork sandwich with upgrade of two sides for $4. I tried the fried hot chicken sandwich and enjoyed it as well. Okay like it better than Hattie B in that the ranch jalapeño is what makes it spicy as opposed to the bread on the chicken. Fries and banana pudding sides are a must too.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
Love Edley's for both takeout and dining in! We let them handle Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Libby G.

Yelp
Wings. Wings. Wings. That's all I have to say! Also great service and sides :) Lots of food for the price

L S.

Yelp
great ribs lots of flavor sides were very good but a little on the small side sat on the patio nice neighborhood only negative the brisket could have been a bit more tender wish I could go back again
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Being a city slicker and not a bbq fan, I didn't have high hopes. I really thought that I'd eat some grilled meat and it would be a basic meal. I was wrong! This place was fantastic! We had the sampler and it did not disappoint. We ordered the burnt ends, ribs and brisket with Mac' n Cheese, green beans, potato salad and the biggest surprise of all... Grits Casserole! That casserole, I could eat that everyday of my life. Spicy, gooey, creamy - Just perfection. And the service was outstanding. The gentleman with the blue glasses and the woman with the blue eyes were just the nicest and sweetest people. This is a DEFINITE come eat! And don't forget to tip! The only thing that I would change is the cornbread. Not a fan of that version. I like mine sweet and moist. But that's just a preference thing.
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
Wow!!! Just had some of the most delicious and tender wings! The potato salad and macaroni salad were the perfect side orders. If you're looking for some of Nashvilles best wings, hit them up, they will not disappoint!
google avatar

Dorian C.

Yelp
Great joint and barbecue here in Nashville! Felt kind of lost and ordering since its my first time there (in the south too actually) but we managed haha. Had the Platter and burnt ends which were all good, not BAMMM SOUTHERN FOOD amazing but it was a solid meal. The Pork ribs were very tender and tasty, and mannnnn the banana pudding was great! Its a fast casual dining, you would just order at the front and they will bring the food to you. Parking: Small lot but theres also a parking lot across the street you can pay meter for

Keith M.

Yelp
Delicious pork & brisket tacos and good reliable service! Easy to pick up a meal on the go.
google avatar

Alan L.

Yelp
Good BBQ in a very comfortable setting. Everything that we had was tasty. The Burnt Ends were very good. The BBQ sauce is flavorful and the beer selection is good. The staff is helpful.
google avatar

Mark P.

Yelp
Some of the best bbq I have ever eaten. Very very good. Came at lunch and service was fast!
google avatar

Agnew D.

Yelp
You order when you walk in so now browsing the menu-not good for first timers. Seating is seat yourself and is all around where you place your order, so if you are not exactly small, or have a child or large bag, keep them close to you. Also, ordering bar drinks is separate from ordering your food but they are at least nice enough to give you another sign to tell you that after you stand in the ordering line to place your food order and walk through a maze to find your own seat. The food is tasty and pricey. A brisket platter for one with 2 sides is $20.00& the sides are child size. They do pick up your trash when done so that is a plus.
google avatar

Pat G.

Yelp
From a girl born and raised in Kansas City, I know my bbq and Edleys is hands down our favorite in Nashville. The smoked wings are fantastic as is the brisket. My hubby loves their catfish with a crunchy light cornmeal coating. Great sides and the banana pudding is a must have! Really sweet staff and fun atmosphere!
google avatar

Tommy B.

Yelp
Edleys has some great BBQ in Nashville. Food is very good, prices are fair and the restaurant is very cool.
google avatar

Yelp
Edley's Bar-B-Que is a great choice for barbecue if you are craving barbecue and are in Nashville, Tennessee. Edley's Bar-B-Que has a great vibe and the atmosphere definitely screams barbecue. The food also delivers. I went with the pork and it was definitely a treat. Barbecue is one of those definitive American foods. I can acknowledge that it's roots might lie elsewhere, but what we know as barbecue is definitely an American thing, pretty much a culinary masterpiece perfected in the south. As I said, I went with their pork and it was pretty spectacular. Overall, I would definitely recommend Edley's Bar-B-Que and I will give it five stars.
google avatar

Lynn L.

Yelp
We love Edley's! From the bbq to the Bushwackers and wings etc!!!!!! Hands down the best! Just did Thanksgiving and they delivered in the best box with instructions and packed perfectly!
google avatar

Olga K.

Yelp
Literally the most tasty BBQ (hope my husband will not to see that review) ! No ... hold on ... it's the best food in Nashville! Big All is awesome! We love you dude! Thank you for hospitality and SPECTACULAR FOOD! Freaking AWESOME!
google avatar

Nate M.

Yelp
Parking is a beast, but totally worth it. Street parking, paid lots and a small private Edley's lot are really all that's available to you. Unless you want to use park up the street and make the treacherous five minute walk back. Now onto the "meat" of the review. We ordered a lot of food, but my favorites were the burnt ends and the BBQ nachos. The nachos are made with freakin' BBQ chips, yesss! Then they top top that with cheese, tender brisket chunks, and fresh pico de gallo. Hubba hubba! The burnt ends at Edley's are a must order. Normally, these are super tender and meaty, but my burnt ends this time around were a little fattier than I prefer, but still delicious. They only offer these as a meal, but just order it for the table and let everyone enjoy the burnt nummies. Edley's is a staple BBQ spot here in Nashville and has done some amazing things to support the community; free food stations during the tornado clean-up efforts and most recently offering free meals to families of front line workers during the Pandemic. Why not support a small business that never stops supporting the community?

Shilpa R.

Yelp
Great neighborhood spot with good drinks and atmosphere perfect for kids! Love their fried pickles

R M.

Yelp
My two college (Vanderbilt and Belmont) kids lived in the Sylvan Park area and Edleys was their favorite neighborhood hangout. They've both moved now, but we continue to make Edleys a destination whenever in Nashville. We came tonight bc we love the food, location, and staff (especially Molly and Mary Clark!) who welcomed us like we had come for family dinner. My husband and kids always order the pulled pork, brisket, and burnt ends along with Edleys banana pudding and pecan pie. My favorites are the catfish tacos, bbq salad, and fried pickles. You can eat indoors or outside on their deck; dogs are welcome to join you. Parking can be a little tough, but Edley's is a must visit. Ps Funny story: daughter and son rented a house nearby. She planned a surprise birthday party for her brother and ordered Edleys catering. Before leaving house to pick up food for the party, she checked to see his location and discovered that he had stopped for a snack...at Edleys. LOL

Carter M.

Yelp
Good bar b que. Have been going to the sylvan park location for years but they're all good. Have had everything on the menu and it's all good

Bailey H.

Yelp
Edley's will have you in a chokehold first bite. So much flavor in everything they make. Pulled pork sandwich and 1 of every side is my death row meal. Service and atmosphere is 10/10. Hard to beat this spot in Nashville. Josh is the best bartender EVER :)

Allen M.

Yelp
Delightful place within walking distance of my daughter's home. Delicious brisket and pork with sides such as baked beans, macaroni cheese and jalapeño cornbread. Always have a good meal here with friendly staff and great service.

Yelp
My son and I stopped here after visiting a local distillery. Maybe we should have gone before, but hindsight is usually 20/20. We walked in and were immediately directed to where to order. Counter ordering is never my favorite, but in this case it was fine. After ordering, we headed outside to enjoy eating on a warm spring day. (BTW, the temperature dropped to 30° the following day, so we very much enjoyed the brief spring.) I ordered the brisket platter with pepper cornbread, cheesy grits and baked beans. It was FANTASTIC!!! I would have licked my plate except for the pride thing. My son ordered the pulled pork plater. His eyes might have been bigger than even my stomach because he quickly asked for a to-go box. Service was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was clean and welcoming. Food was fantastic. Parking may be challenging when the crowd picks up, but for us it wasn't an issue. Loved it. I would recommend this joint without reservation. Table service will hopefully return when COVID ends.

Yelp
SUMMARY. Great barbecue place in Sylvan Park. Venue has awesome barbecue and is a prime spot for social gatherings. They are also set up for sporting events with multiple TVs. One of my favorite hangouts! RESERVATION. No reservation required! It's quite a large place, and I've never seen it super packed. I usually come with a group, and we've never had issues getting bar or table seating. Just show up and enjoy! AMBIENCE. Ambience is very lively during peak hours--almost like a sports bar (but not quite). You can hear people enjoying themselves while indulging. That being said, the noise is not gratuitous and will not impede your own enjoyment. Perfect venue for watching games while simultaneously catching up with friends! LOCATION. Located right next to McCabe Golf Course near the circle in Sylvan Park. There is a small parking lot in back, but it is often full. Street parking is usually available for free, but it may take a minute to locate a spot. There is also a paid lot as well. QUALITY. Quality is very good. Great barbecue! I almost always opt for the brisket tacos or burn ends, but everything is excellent! SERVICE. Service is great! Never a long wait for food or drinks and the staff is super friendly! VALUE. Value is good! I usually spend ~$25 all-in with tax and tip which includes food and a couple of beers. I am always happy to pay it given the quality and overall experience! TAKEAWAYS. Great place for awesome barbecue in Sylvan Park. Perfect for social gatherings and sporting events. I recommend the burnt ends or brisket tacos, but maybe next time I'll venture out and try something new. Everything is good here! Happily, Clayton Cohn
