Yelp
The best choice in the Palisades for a coffee date. Table service is available on the outside patio next to Caruso's well manicured lawn. Plenty of umbrellas shield you from the sun. The service is expert and gracious. When I ordered my hot matcha latte, our waiter was prepared with the brand names and ingredients of the non-dairy milks. Each hot beverage was finished with an artful heart worked into the foam.
For breakfast, the restaurant offers traditional French inspired pastries and baked goods. I ordered the seasonal fruit plate, which was a generous portion of quite fresh mixed berries. My children love the croissants or the bagels and lox. I have a gluten allergy so I have never sampled anything with wheat, but my dining companions always enjoy the simple and fresh pizzettes. The kids love the gnocchi with tomato sauce and melted mozzarella. I highly recommend the cream of broccoli soup -- among the best I have had anywhere. While I did not order it myself, the avocado toast served with fresh tomatoes on top looked extraordinary.
This is a great place for all types. I do find lots of people there for coffee dates. And it's a nice place to bring kiddos, because they can eat outside under the umbrellas and also have space to roam. The Village is dog friendly and lots of people sip their morning coffee with their dogs underfoot outside at Edo or next door at Alfred Coffee. If you're in a hurry, you may order at the counter. There is some seating available inside, but inside dining space is small and not particularly atmospheric.
The Caruso powder rooms on the second floor of the concierge area are immaculate, luxurious and well stocked. There is even a "mother's room" for feeding babies. A separate bathroom is appointed with diapers, wipes and a changing table. Underground paid parking is available. Elevators or escalators deliver you right up in the heart of shopping center, just outside the concierge lobby.
