Ed’s Coffee Shop Retires From West Hollywood - Eater LA
"58-year-old West Hollywood institution Ed’s Coffee Shop is closing this summer. Owner Ada Blumstein announced that the diner's last day of service is August 25. The unassuming daytime restaurant attracted celebrities and locals, but changes in the clientele and rise of coffee chains contributed to its closure. The neighborhood's demographics have shifted since Blumstein took over in 1997. The coffee shop was originally bought by Ed Blumstein in 1960 and has been a family-run business for decades." - Mona Holmes
One of the few remaining old school, diner-style restaurants in West Hollywood and nearby. They have amazing omelets and breakfast in general ( Denver Omelette is my favorite!) Atmosphere is relaxing and laid back and staff are friendly and courteous and treat us like old friends. Great coffee too! I highly recommend this place. It's a shame there aren't many places like this around town.

Same owners, and same staff for YEARS! Owners probably for 40? years! Staff minimum probably 15? years. Really Nice People. Dependable food quality. Fair prices. BUT if you are in a HURRY, go to McDonalds. Everything cooked to order. Lunches always special. "Neighborhood" cafe for sure! Limited street parking.

Awesome food likewise for the patrons. Had a lovely conversation with a WW1 Vet and his wife at the counter who had been coming here for 40 years!! Clean Great Menu Choices. Incredible; coffee from Rowanda small coffee farms some of the proceeds are returned to the local farmers. Thats more than just a cup of coffee. As far as we are concerned this is the only place to go for breakfast no need to go anywhere else.

Fantastic little coffee and diner! We used to go often for lunch and the staff was just so much fun. They always gave good recommendations if there was a special. Typically we'd get breakfast for lunch though :) I just enjoy how small and welcoming this place is.

The staff was friendly, but the place was so dirty we left after getting coffee. It smelled like dirty dishrags, and our table and menus were sticky. I've never been to a restaurant that keeps a bottle of hand sanitizer on a (dirty) shelf next to each table.

Good service, very friendly. The menu changes everyday! I got a MASSIVE baked chicken and mashed potatoes and veggies. The potatoes were cold, but the gravy and chicken were great. Good variety of sandwiches.

Good heavy Mexican breakfast !! I enjoyed the burritos with eggs and cheese. The espresso coffee was regular. The coffee shop has a particular environment.

1st one here and service was fast. For being in the middle of Robertson along with high end stores this is a nice and reasonably priced location. The food was great
