"Google the highest-rated restaurant on Ocracoke and most lists will have Eduardo’s as number one. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner out of a small red trailer just off the main road, and it draws crowds during the busy summer season. Specialties include the cheesy grilled shrimp mango tacos, the cheesy pork tacos, and the cheesy sirloin tacos (notice a theme?), but it also has breakfast burritos, fresh grilled seafood tacos, and possibly the most popular guacamole on the island." - Matt Lardie

If I don't get the chance to visit again before the end of the 2025 season then I just want to say, "Thank you so much to the staff at Eduardo's Taco stand. We will miss your hard working smiling faces. Best breakfast ever! You will be sorely missed.". One of my favorites for breakfast and lunch. Get you some while you still can

Google
Stopped in for a quick bite. So we tried the red drum fish tacos. They were absolutely delicious! We also got a tub of their guacamole. And although it was expensive, it was delicious! It was probably some of the best I've ever had!

DJ

Google
Hecho con amor is no lie! This food is top tier to be coming out of a food truck. Spanish Mackerel tacos with mango salsa and guac, mmm. So glad I got to try!

Christopher privitera

Google
Best place to eat at in Ocracoke. 2025 is their last season, if you haven’t tried them you better soon.

Shannon Albright

Google
Some of the best food on the island be sure to stop here for breakfast & lunch/ dinner! The breakfast seafood burritos were huge & delicious!! Best breakfast we have ever had! Their specialty tacos were amazing as well as their chips and salsa & guacamole! Walk up to order and there are picnic tables outside. We grabbed our food to go to eat back in our room.

Hunter Demster

Google
Legit! The best fish tacos I've ever eaten. 10/10.

Nick Livengood

Google
Fantastic service and food as always! Wife had the veggie tacos, and I had the fresh blue fish tacos. No complaints! Great to see the famous Nacho!

Lorelai B

Google
Every in the rain was totally worth it for breakfast! I got the bacon burrito and my husband got the Seafood Hot Mess. Both were delicious. The SHM is spicy. We jumped next door to the teashop opportunity an iced coffee.

Heather B.

Yelp
I love this place! The cheesy shrimp tacos are my favorite. I cannot go to ocracoke without getting them. And apparently on my birthday three times.

Pete B.

Yelp
5 stars all day long. Small food truck on the side of the ride on a quiet island... What more could you want? We got lucky and got a picnic table in the "dining area". We pulled our little golf cart in thinking that we were going to get a "quick lunch". Yeah.... It kept us full the entire day. EVERYTHING is fresh and made to order, so the very small wait is well worth it. We got the fresh guac with chips which was phenomenal. I got the Fish tacos which was absolutely delicious and obviously fresh. My son and my wife got the chicken tacos and they both said that were very good. We had a nice shady spot to eat and drink our Mango Jarritos soda. Very relaxing and low key. When you're done, the lighthouse is right down the street off of the side street. I'm very glad we stopped in for a great island lunch.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Last day on the island and we wanted breakfast. I feel like its hard to navigate that area during the off season. We had seen this spot a few times and it didn't show up on Yelp initially we stopped in after our first two stops were a bust. Outside seating. Little long on waiting for a food truck, I just wonder about that and long lines Chilliques, pork belly torta, and a bacon breakfast burrito. AMAZING! Nothing about it was disappointing. They make the tacos wITH flour. So no GF there. Looks like you can get fresh chips and salsa for snacks to go.

Yelp
Eduardo's is a true gem and absolutely worth the wait in the hot sun. Take your time and really read the menu. Don't be afraid to try a few different things. The food is guaranteed to always be fresh and flavorful. Excellent food. We had overheard recommendations from several local residents, and since we love a good authentic meal plus Mexican food, we decided to give it a try. Dismiss the food truck/trailer bias if you have one, and chow down on some really good food. They have reasonable prices, they give out generous portions, and the service is fairly quick. I couldn't have been more pleased finding this place on the main road and pick out something from a vast menu. Fresh local seafood, tacos, burritos, and whatever sounds tasty. Flavorful and delicious. I had the Cheesy Fusion Taco. Marinated jerk chicken with pineapple mango salsa, lettuce, and avocado. I also ordered grilled chicken tacos, which come in three tacos. My grilled chicken tacos came with a side of salsa, avocado, cilantro, and onions in corn tortillas. Yes, I was very hungry. Lol The ambience of the place is very calming, but due to the limited seats, it can be challenging. They are a dog friendly business.

Yelp
Great authentic Mexican food! A must try on Ocracoke Island, make sure you stop by. Breakfast and lunch!

Robert G.

Yelp
My wife and I went here for breakfast while at Ocracoke one morning on vacation. We were blown away at how delicious and flavorful the food was! Service was great and the foot came out fast! If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely go there again!

Jon L.

Yelp
If you're looking for exceptional Mexican food, let's go k no further! I've eaten here many times over the years & have found the food quality and choice only gets better. Yesterday I had the pollo, carnitas & asada tacos on corn tortillas & they were really good. Today I had the grilled Mahi tacos on flour tortillas & they were exceptional! You will need to ask for a side of salsa. They automatically give you the salsa verde with tomatillo. There is so much to like about this place in their new location! The only downside is limited parking & no bathroom

Phylicia H.

Yelp
Best meal I had in Ocracoke was from this food truck! Plenty of outdoor seating! The tacos were extremely fresh! I wish it had a bit more of a kick, but this was probably the freshest taco I've ever had. Very authentic, filling and delicious! Ordered the shrimp tacos, scallop tacos and salsa. Comes with 3 and very generous with the filling inside! I would love to come back and try their burritos and breakfast options. This place does get crowded so be prepared to wait a bit for your food! Highly recommend!

C P B.

Yelp
Wow. Tastiest food truck food I've ever had! Tried both the grilled shrimp and cheesy sirloin tacos. Delicious! Very fresh and service was friendly and fast. I definitely want to go back and try the burritos - they looked amazing - and big enough to feed a small family.

John P.

Yelp
Great, authentic fish tacos served from a food truck. Window service was polite and accurate. There is always a line, so it will not be fast - expect 20 min before you eat. Drinks are cold canned sodas and Mexican Jarritos soda. Half dozen wooden tables with umbrellas surrounded trailer to allow picnic. No alcohol permitted.

Morgan A.

Yelp
Hands down the best authentic tacos I've had in my life! Ive had them prior to the current visit and they did not disappoint. This is a MUST go to when on Ocracoke. I ate there twice in one week but could have eaten it every day. Ill be dreaming about those tacos.

Matt S.

Yelp
Stopped by while walking down the road and could not have made a better choice. I had the chorizo breakfast burrito and it was loaded with egg and chorizo on a freshly made tortilla. What a gem!

Kyle C.

Yelp
I'll start this review with a disclaimer that Ocracoke has had a hard time since the hurricane and we all know COVID took no mercy. That being said, I ate at Eduardos after an hour ago and was very underwhelmed. My wife got three chicken tacos which were good and I got the carne asada burrito which was not very good. It was most definitely not steak and most definitely steak-ums or something similar. I paid $28+ for three chicken tacos and the carne asada burrito (plus chorizo) and I was disappointed. The location is great, they have ample seating, and a decent sized menu but the burrito was such a let down that I felt like I was ripped off since the majority seemed to be over-seasoned steak-ums. Id consider giving it one more shot another year since the reviews tend to be good but we'll see.

Mary Ruth D.

Yelp
Must do when on Ocracoke. Consistently good. Everyone in the family enjoyed it and we look forward to going next time we're on the island.

Neeti S.

Yelp
Update to the earlier review. They have relocated to another place further down from the original location. It is a much bigger lot with cute picnic benches and lots of outdoor space and some parking. The food was exceptional and so fresh. We really enjoyed the meal here. My husband ordered the fish (blue fish) tacos (with fresh mango/pineapple salsa and cabbage slaw) and I ordered the vegetable hard tacos (came with mango salsa, beet/cabbage slaw, avocado and fresh salsa verde). The taco was crunchy and flavorful. I also got the small bite which was a toasted cheesy avocado/mango taco. It is always such a great experience here. The taste of the great food will linger in our memories until we visit next time!!

Vanessa P.

Yelp
Went to Ocracoke a couple of weeks ago and pretty much everywhere was closed. Called Eduardo and even though he was closed he made us amazing tacos. I had the vegetable taco with avocado and my fiancé had the chorizo taco. Both were great! Thanks so much Eduardo for feeding us even though you were closed for the day.

Vamaine B.

Yelp
Best tacos ever! Absolutely delicious! My family loves this place so much! The food is worth the long line and worth every penny!

Francisco d.

Yelp
Food was excellent and the service was extremely fast, which was appreciated as it was raining hard. We had a burrito and shrimp taco with mango salsa, both items were delicious. This food truck is very popular with visitors and locals.

Marcos L.

Yelp
Incredible service and also great portion sizes. I arrived with a group of 11 and we all got our orders within 15 minutes of ordering ON TOP of them also having other customers. The cashier was very kind, patient, and suggestive she made sure we all got something that we would enjoy and also recommended the most popular items. I got the Pork Burrito and it was the perfect size and came with rice beans cheese and salsa for only $11.99, this is definitely one of the most popular food spots on the island, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Samantha W.

Yelp
Came here after seeing it off the road. It definitely is a cute little place to sit outside with some food but the parking lot it TINY. Like maybe 5 cars max could fit. Besides that, the food was really expensive for what it is. My partner got the carne asada tacos which were actually pretty good and very minimalistic, which I love. I got the scallop tacos. I will say, you get a decent amount of scallop on these but for over $13 for 3 tacos they just weren't that good. There are just a ton of flavorless toppings and I ended up just picking out the scallops and leaving all the toppings. Meh. I wanted to try a shrimp bowl but for over $17, I couldn't bring myself to do it. It's just a bit pricey for ok food. Super cute outdoor dining though!

Donald F.

Yelp
Great food! Fresh lime and cilantro really make the flavors pop. Muy bueno!! Ditto Ditto

Myra F.

Yelp
We took a chance with this taco food truck and was not disappointed. The shrimp tacos and shrimp burrito bowl was delicious and we were satisfied.

John B.

Yelp
[Coronavirus review] Between corona, riots, and the lingering effects of a hurricane, this town did not have a ton going on. But this taco truck stood proudly open. At least until 2:00. I was surprised to discover this early closing time and glad I got my order in when I did. Given the lack of competition, ample customers, and good reviews, I would have thought they could be making money through dinnertime. They have a vegetarian section, and will offer to leave off the cheese and cream for those who wish. Nonetheless, you're getting some solid food; my bean burrito had a decent slice of avocado and some fresh pico, and the tortilla tasted grilled. Nothing world-beating, but when you consider the difficulty of getting fresh anything out to this island, I was reasonably impressed. They accepted mobile payments, and had some picnic tables set up outside. Notably, their parking is separate from the neighboring shopping center as part of a cramped little stretch; you can't really park on sand dunes.

Valerie M.

Yelp
Best food on Ocracoke. Best food in Hyde County. Best food on the Outer Banks. Insanely delicious everything. Great folks. Cannot say enough about how spectacular the food is.

Jeanne H.

Yelp
Awesome food! Friendly and fast. Great salsa and fish tacos. Also great steak tacos! Enjoy

A J.

Yelp
Excellent food. Kinda pricey but possibly the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. Will be dreaming about the scallop tacos.

Catie C.

Yelp
Eduardo's is not be to be missed when visiting Ocracoke. It was our first stop after the ferry for lunch... and we went back the next morning for breakfast. SO GOOD!

Matt P.

Yelp
Favorite place for breakfast and lunch on Ocracoke! We went 4 times during our week stay and every time was delicious.

Grady F.

Yelp
Best Mexican food on the island. Can get crowded during lunchtime so plan accordingly. Breakfast is great too.

Gordon W.

Yelp
Always delicious... The Shrimp Tacos are the best in the Galaxy ... and don't forget to take some of Eduardo's Salsa home with you. You'll be glad you did!

Ashley B.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying the food here is great, that's why we choose them as our wedding vendor. The day before the wedding they contacted us saying they never ordered our food and cannot cater our wedding. Ocracoke is a small island and with 24 hour notice, we were unable to find another caterer and had to cook ALL of our own food. Karen is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Worst customer service we've ever experienced. She showed no remorse, was not apologetic. When we contacted Eduardo directly to see if there is anything we can do like ordering trays of food or something, she had the AUDACITY to contact us saying she lost respect for us and to never contact them again. She acted like we were the inconvenience. We eat at Eduardo's every time we come down, and they just lost two loyal customers. They should have given us more of a notice since they NEVER ordered the food. We booked them months in advance. It was absolutely disheartening and the way Karen treated us was SICKENING. Eduardo, if you want to run a more successful business you should let Karen go or put her though a years worth of customer service training. So disappointing.

Em B.

Yelp
Eduardo's is a great little place to stop for some unique twists on delicious Mexican food. I've been going since they opened and they've never disappointed. Their flavors are always top notch. For folks complaining about the wait -- you're on a tiny island and they're one food truck serving dozens of people, what did you expect? They do accept cards now as well!

Alex J.

Yelp
It's easy to write a bad review on a place, so I won't go there. Let's see if I can find something good about Eduardo's. The young lady that took my order was nice. Even when she told me that I'd have to pay $3 more for an asada burrito cause they were out of ground beef. I don't trust food truck asada, and I was right. Gristle galore. Maybe it'll be better next time I visit, when I'm not staying at the Silver Lake Motel, which no one should stay at.

Ericka S.

Yelp
This food truck is a MUST stop on the island. They have daily specials and today it was: Blue Fish tacos with an option of mango salsa ($16) or Mahi Mahi burrito with the fixings ($17). Prices are a bit steep ($34 for food and 2 drinkbut they grow a lot of their ingredients fresh by the truck and the quality is amazing! The outside seating was cute, with two seater options up to a long 8 seater table. All tables are under a shaded umbrella and you get a nice island breeze. The blue fish taco was - meh. Not very seasoned and I couldn't taste the mango salsa, which seemed like just small pieces of mango that lacked flavor. The fish was rather "fishy" tasting and pieces of the skin were on it. My friend didn't like it at all when he tried it and said "that's super fishy tasting." The serving size (3) was very generous! The tortillas were not homemade and if you're a slow eater like I am they get a bit soggy toward the end. I was hoping to really love this place because it is super cute and had good reviews.

Julie H.

Yelp
The ceviche is so good!!! Plenty of cilantro & the lime "cooked" the shrimp & octopus perfectly! We rode our bikes here & they had lots of bike parking :)

Jesse P.

Yelp
If you're trapped on a remote island in the Outer Banks, NC, and the ferry won't come for another three hours because it got stuck in the mud, and you have a desire for authentic Mexican food? Well, fear not-- get thee to Eduardo's! The tacos are tasty, the service is friendly and quick, and there are picnic tables and umbrellas. Pull up with your golf cart, and you're good!

David R.

Yelp
We have always enjoyed Eduardo's for the stunningly fresh seafood incorporated into delicious tacos. The guac is fabulous, too. This last trip, over the span of two weeks, we went five times (a few lunches, and our last dinner). Eduardo's tomatillo salsa is particularly delicious, as is the dusky red salsa made with dried chiles. We very much enjoyed the special tacos made with tuna with a mango and fig salsa, and the shrimp tacos are reliably transcendent. Everything is fresh, expertly prepared, and delicious. I wish I could have tacos like this on the regular where I live. One caveat - you will wait between 10-15 minutes during busy times. It's a taco truck. We found that they always underpromised and overdelivered on the wait time estimates.

Avery K.

Yelp
If you are in Ocracoke don't leave without trying Eduardo's! It is technically a food truck although it is permanently stationed. My food was ready quickly. I had the vegetarian tacos and they were sooo good. Not your typical rice, beans, lettuce, and salsa boring taco. It was really excellent!

Robert N.

Yelp
OH WOW! The veggie tacos are amazing! It took us three hours to get from our vacation rental to the island - yet - I want to go back again today just to eat at Eduardo's again. In addition to the amazing food - employees were friendly - the place is clean - the eatting area is cute and clean. Stop reading this and GO NOW!!

Pooja S.

Yelp
Quite normal Mexican good... not much to boast about... fresh ingredients but not much flavors Front staff was kinda rude not friendly Nothing much to return for...try other places I say Disappointed to say the least

Deepak R.

Yelp
Nothing to text home about! Salsa (even the spicy one) is quite dilute and lacked taste or spice Fish tacos were overpriced at 15.99 (at a food truck!) , can of Coke is $3.20.

Stephanie N.

Yelp
The best tacos ever. Seems expensive at first, but you won't regret it. The very nice lady taking orders completely understands celiacs and ensured a safe meal for me. I had grilled fish tacos with Mango salsa, fantastic! The burritos others in my party got were huge and they said they were fabulous. The guacamole was delicious.

Neil F.

Yelp
Underwhelming would be an understatement. Later in the lunch day (after 1pm) there was a very short line so they weren't overwhelmed. From screwing up the order, (trout instead of shrimp) even after confirming twice, once while ordering and a second time at pickup, to the seriously underripe diced mango, tasteless raw radish and cucumber slices thrown haphazardly on top of the tacos, to the lack of almost any discernible seasoning, to the sour smell of the salsa, to the blandness of the fish- take your $35 somewhere else on the island. High anticipation wound up being highly disappointing.

Jim C.

Yelp
This is the Real Deal. Authentic Mexican food prepared to perfection. We had the Carne Asado Tacos and the Shrimp Enchilada. Everything was delicious. We also picked up a jar of Salsa to go. Don't pass this by if you are in Ocracoke.

Monte A.

Yelp
Place opens at 8am not 7am. Friendly service, good breakfast. We had rolled tacos, #1,#4, and #7. Very filling, all basic and natural ingredients. Everything seems fresh. Tortillas are really nice! No fast food crap here! I would eat here every day.

Mary I.

Yelp
Best Mexican Food I ever had! Great Service. They should let you add a single crunchy taco to a specialty order. Highly recommend the Cheesy Pastor.

Mermaid P.

Yelp
This place may look like a hole in the wall, however the food is delicious and fresh as a 5 star restaurant. We started with the guacamole and chips. Nice little bit of heat from locally grow hot peppers and fresh crunchy warm chips. There were specials of the day. My hubby had the Spanish Mackerel Tacos with fresh cabbage slaw and pico de gillo. The fish was flakey, juicy and just perfectly cooked. The spice level was dead on as well. I devoured my Mahi and Mango burrito which was big enough I could have had 2 meals from it. The Mahi was fresh and there were several large pieces. Much more than a normal restaurant would serve as an entree. The spice level was dead on. Just enough to add flavor but not detract from the fish itself. The mango salsa was the perfect addition to the burrito. We will defiantly return!

Anna Z.

Yelp
My mouth is still watering from the chef special cheesy tacos ! Stopped here before heading to the beach -- and then came back again after we left the beach because we enjoyed them so much. All of the staff were very friendly too & especially Eduardo himself !

Jay B.

Yelp
Exceptional truck stand food It's a little pricely from when I first encountered years back, but absolutely still a bargain Freshest ingredients especially the fresh off the boat fish !

Seryozha A.

Yelp
Okay so this is just a food truck, so don't let that fool you into thinking this is going to be some cheap, bland and uninspired meal. The dining area is just a bunch of umbrella covered picnic tables. At first when you look at the menu you get a wee bit of sticker shock, but I was committed and didn't feel like traipsing around the village for vittles to satiate my grumbling gullet. I ordered the carnitas and waited about ten minutes for the young lady to announce that our order was ready. First thing I noticed was everything was well wrapped and very hot, then unwrapping the sensation of steamy hot carnitas, a hint of lime, cilantro and a suggestion of onions wafting tither made me appreciate that I was in for an experience as well as a memorably wonderful meal. My meal was tasty and filling, and I drowned my thirst with a chilled bottle of Jarritos mandarina soda.
