Where To Eat Outside In Jersey City & Hoboken

"While going to eat at Edward’s doesn’t entail sipping martinis at a mahogany bar in a 19th Century brownstone at the moment, it does still come with tables full of oysters, dry-aged porterhouses, and garlic smashed potatoes, even if those tables are in a converted parking lot across the street." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, matt tervooren

Edward’s Steakhouse Review - Jersey City - New York - The Infatuation

"Edward’s is a short walk from lots of office buildings by the waterfront, and if you want to have a corporate card dinner at a steakhouse in Jersey City, then it’s pretty much your only option. But considering it’s right by the Path and the ferry, you’re better off spending $80 on surf-and-turf or $85 on a dry-aged ribeye at any of the countless steakhouses across the river in Fidi. photo credit: Alex Staniloff" - Matt Tervooren

Google
Edwards Steakhouse in Jersey City is seriously a gem! From the moment you walk in, you get this cool, old-school vibe that just feels right. We started with some really good appetizers and ended with a delicious dessert, but the real stars of the show were the steaks and entrees – absolutely incredible! Cooked to perfection. They've also got some great cocktails and a decent wine selection to round out the experience. Definitely a spot to check out if you're looking for a classic steakhouse experience.

Google
Let me preface by saying I came here feeling over stimulated, stressed, and exhausted and left feeling warm, held, and taken care of from the atmosphere, service, and food overall. The applewood smoked bacon and mashed potatoes were a standout — thick cut juicy bacon with aromatic smoky flavor, creamy garlicky potatoes…MmMmm That said, I really want to come back, but several things I think could use improvement: One, I ordered the medium ribeye and it came out hard on the outside and tough on the inside. I was craving steak so much that it still left me satisfied, but I would think twice of ordering this unless it improves the texture. Two, the asparagus gratin seemed like it was just steamed asparagus and chewy Parmesan cheese. It needs some melted cheese texture and a sprinkle of Parmesan dusting at the top. If these can be improved I wouldn’t hesitate coming back.

Google
Great steakhouse for a date. Inside is much larger than it appears. Food was quite nice, as expected for a steakhouse. Steak was cooked nicely at medium rare, although it could have used more salt. Overall, a tasty meal, but expect to spend about $100 per person if you get an appetizer, main, and wine. They only do half-bottles of wine.

Google
The place is an old house, beautiful and historical, a local go-to spot. It's nice to have a place with a sense of history around. This was our second time visiting the place, and we sampled all the steaks they could offer, ribeye, sirloin and porterhouse. The temperature was perfect for what we ordered, medium rare. The steaks in general don't have the dry age aroma as they advertised as 28-day ageing. The meat quality was pretty bad, tough to chew, and full of gristle. Hope they will improve because we like the ambience here.

Google
The location was lovely. Although the food was only adequate; the onion soup could have used more flavor.

Google
We used to love this place — it was our go-to for a great steak. Sadly, tonight was such a disappointment that it’ll likely be our last visit. We ordered a medium rare steak, but what came out was semi-cold and nearly impossible to cut. When we asked the waiter why it was cold, his response was, “Oh, do you want me to warm it up?” — and then he literally reheated it to medium. At that point, the quality was already lost. The clam pasta was no better. It had almost no flavor, and the so-called “white sauce” tasted like clam-boiling water. The pasta itself was overcooked and mushy — honestly, it was just sad. Something must have changed, because this used to be one of our favorite spots. We’re really disappointed to see it go downhill like this.

Google
A local favorite steak house. Although I only go here on rare occasions. The steak here is fantastic. The ribeye is marbled well and cooked to a good temperature (medium rare) with it juicy and easy to chew. Make sure you book in advance on peak periods.

Google
I forgot to take photos when I visited - so imagine a cool steakhouse hidden in a historic rowhouse. If you don't see the sign you can almost walk right by - but you'll be missing out if you do. This place is classic fine dining - well trained waitstaff, an extensive menu with seafood to steaks, a bar that churns out well made cocktails, and top notch desserts. Although this is fine dining, you can come casual and you'll be fine. I recommend making a reservation - they have tons of tables but this popular spot can get busy. Reservations are free and you can call or reserve online.

Yelp
Utterly disappointing from end to end. I was already a little concerned by seeing several 1 star reviews, but they had several 5 star reviews as well so I figured I would give it a try anyway since I was in the area. Let me tell you, avoid at all cost. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by the complimentary bread they give you, and the bread here is STALE! Then came the appetizers, and their escargot is the worst I've ever had! The sauce was watery and bland, and the escargot itself did not taste fresh, and on top of that it came out cold, like it was sitting around waiting for someone to remember that it's ready to serve. The bread also tasted stale (and cold as well). I still brushed it off thinking that it's a steakhouse so maybe they just make amazing steaks and that's it. Wrong again, their steaks are cooked oddly where it is way too burnt on the outside and too rare on the inside. Their is also no flavor, I had to dump salt all over it to make it edible. As a final insult, the sides came out cold as well. Oh I forgot they also charge you a credit card fee. Honestly one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to.

Yelp
I don't go to steakhouses often so Edward's was a special treat. We showed up around 6:15 and were able to be seated upstairs right away without reservations. The filet mignon carpaccio & tuna tartar appetizers were both delicious. They both had one thing in common in that the crackers served with them didn't go with the dish at all, but that wasn't too significant since the main parts of the dish were done exceptionally well. The baby lamb chops are incredible! They were served with mashed potatoes which were also very good, the asparagus was underdone for my taste, but it didn't impact the dish much. My husband got the 22oz ribeye which was also cooked to perfection. My watermelon mojito was delicious, my husband didn't enjoy his gin & tonic though. The cheesecake was great!

Yelp
This house made into a steakhouse in Jersey City is a hidden gem! Not the bestest place to have a nice steak and meal, but it's worth the try. I would say the tiramisu and lava cake stole the show...
google avatar

Cyn C.

Yelp
Where do I begin! This is definitely a must try if you're in the area. This place is overall great. Starting with the ambiance, it's definitely a 10/10. The service was great, and the food came out quickly. We started with the burrata, the tomato chunks were huge, but it did taste a little tangy. We got the cowboy ribeye, and stuffed shrimp with jasmine rice. Both were great! We also had the seared tuna which was amazing! The staff recommended a wine called "Sincere"... DELICIOUS!! Definitely would return here!!

Brianne D.

Yelp
No complaints about the food or service; both were good, just didn't make us say "wow, we need to come back." I think the restaurant lacked in ambiance. It didn't feel as elevated and detailed as other steakhouses. The plating was simple and there was no decor in the upstairs dining area.

Yelp
Ordered: Escargot Bourguignon (~$12): with garlic herb butter Filet Mignon Carpaccio (~$12): micro greens, truffle oil, shaved parmesan, on flatbread Roasted Beet Salad (~$14): sliced red & gold beets, oranges, pistachio, goat cheese, lemon vinaigrette Dry Aged Porterhouse for One - 24oz ($60): medium; sirloin and filet on the bone, sliced, au jus, aged a minimum of 28 days Roast Garlic Mashed Potatoes (~$8) Forest Mushrooms (~$8) Haricot Verts (~$9): French green beans Aya's take: Edward's has to be considered a Jersey City hidden gem. It's located in a renovated 1800's historic building which simultaneously felt upscale and lowkey. They serve your classic New York Style steaks, chops, and seafood. Everything we ordered was reasonably priced; service was a bit slow but we weren't in a rush at all. The Filet Mignon Carpaccio was my favorite of the appetizers but I was pleasantly surprised with the Roasted Beet Salad. If you order a bunch of appetizers like we did, the Dry Aged Porterhouse for One will definitely be enough for two people. It was lightly crisp on the outside yet tender and soft on the inside. It was delicately seasoned and the sides all complemented the Porterhouse well. The crispy onions were a nice touch giving the meal that crunchy texture that I love. All in all, a delicious meal at an elegant place!

Yelp
Classic traditional steak house. Great staff, our waitress pulled some strings to adjust the room temp for me. No qualms about the food at all, but nothing really to write home about. Not particularly exciting, but good and consistent with what you'd expect from a steak house. It is nice enough inside though.

Melanie D.

Yelp
Long story short. Went to Edward's for Mother's Day 2025 . The meal was awful. First off, it's so dark you think it's closed. It's as if they are hiding something. I am afraid to think what they could be hiding. Secondly, the cocktails are totally inconsistent. Each round is completely different from the first. Third, Veal chop looked like a baby lamb chop. Everything was bland, and to add insult to injury my rice was ice cold as if it had never been hot. Awful. The lump crab cake was a patty of mush pale and super bland. The filet mignon egg roll had no taste at all .served with a sauce that reminded me of greasy dish water. The hand cut fries were nothing more than generic supermarket frozen fries Did I mention the restaurant is pitch black dark?! Wow what a disappointment and waste of money. Not sure what's going on but Edward's seems to be nothing more than a sinking ship in desperate need of an SOS!!! I would give them a zero. If I could but the Brownstone is at best charming with potential to be intimate . Food was HORRIBLE.

Yelp
This was an excellent steakhouse situated on the same block as where we were staying. It made it really convenient and it's very intimate with nice ambience setting inside. The dry steak was cooked to perfection and juicy and very flavorful. Good wine list offering some beers and cocktails..

Yelp
My husband and I come here every Thursday evening while we wait for our daughter to finish dance class. We sit in the corner on the first floor-so cozy and intimate. Edwards never disappoints-service, food ,drinks and ambience are always on point. I love the music vibe- can't go wrong with Otis Redding, Sinatra, Nora Jones and Etta James. In addition, you can park in the OLC lot across the street. Can't wait until next Thursday!

Yelp
Another excellent find. Small place with great steaks just about equal to NYC's finest but with much better price points. The porterhouse and NY strip were both excellent. My wife thought the sides were relatively small but I thought that was because they were relatively inexpensive. Kudos to our serving team. And, somehow, maybe just on weekends you would need to check with the restaurant, but they have use of a church school parking lot right across the street.

Yelp
Went here for dinner during the holiday season and was disappointed. Upon arrival the interior decor foreshadowed a good night I thought to my self, an intimate feeling. We ordered our food and drinks and waited. It was difficult to speak over a cackling duo of women who had too much to drink at the table beside us, they ruined the ambient feel, but that's not the restaurants fault. The food came out quick, a bit too quick. It felt like we were being rushed. The staff was polite, but made mistakes. The drinks never came out until the waiter was reminded toward the end of the meal. At that point I don't think I wanted it anymore. They comp'd us for the drink so I had it, but it was suspicious because it tasted off, like a cheaper vodka was used. The food was mediocre at best. This was the disappointment because it looked promising from online photos and menu. I was looking for a delicious dry aged steak but what I got was a sad excuse for a steak. Both me and my dining guest were disappointed with the quality of the steak. The oysters gave us belly problems. The creamed spinach was disgusting. Overall a disappointment, and won't be returning. I rather go to a real steakhouse next time.

Yelp
It's okay. More like 3.5 stars Service was okay. My bf asked to move to another table... he wanted another table cus we ordered a lot of food (our table was small and there were lots of empty tables and we also so one couple sitting at table for 4). Waiter said no cus it's all reserved and then my bf explained that we ordered a lot and the food wouldn't fit the table and also stated that we also made reservations. After he said that the guy said he'd check with the front. He came back and moved us to a bigger table. When we finished there were still a few larger tables left. It just didn't sit well with us cus it didn't seem like he would've asked if we didn't explain why... Anyway... Oysters: yummy! Bone marrow: wouldn't get again. So oily. This isn't our first time eating bone marrow but the oil was on the plate and the bread was oily so it just wasn't as good. I also think it would've been better is the one marrow was salted but didn't seem to have any salt Ny strip: asked for medium rare and came out medium. Tough and tasted like steak I could just make at home Branzino: I think that's what my bf got. It was good but several of the greens (I think it's bok choy) in the dish were brown and it wasn't the brown from being cooked so that was just not a good experience Asparagus gratin: asparagus with cheese and the cheese was all cold and like what was the point? Garlic mashed potatoes: good. We asked if we could have gravy and they don't have gravy. We decided we could ask for more sauce for the steak since the steak comes with au jus but they gave us steak sauce. We didn't bother at that point Caesar salad no croutons: not bad Complimentary bread and butter: butter is so good! Bread was good too! Seemed really nice and was excited to celebrate a special occasion there but ended up just being okay. Glad we tried it but not sure we'd go again.

Yelp
I picked this steakhouse for a date night. Had the dry aged porterhouse and it was simply amazing! A great gem in Jersey City. I will definitely be back again. It feels like you stepped in time back to the 1930s with the Dark wood bar, wood walls, and copper tin ceiling. What a great experience.

Yelp
Phenomenal place! We had a friend's 50th birthday dinner here and everything was fantastic! The wine list was excellent and we had some wonderful cocktails. They have an extensive bar and can make craft cocktails that are out of this world. Everyone ordered something different, so we had a wide variety of items on the table. Appetizers included a variety of oysters; applewood smoked bacon; steamed clams and seared ahi tuna. Everything was so delicious we passed it around. Some ordered the chopped salad, others held off because they wanted more steak. For dinner the birthday boy and his wife had the tomahawk steak for two. Another couple had the porterhouse for two. I had the petite filet mignon, which was phenomenal. Perfectly rare and butter soft. Someone ordered the baby lamb chops, and there were so many he took half home. His date ordered the scallops and said it was perfect. There were a bunch of sides being passed around the table, including mac & cheese, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, and others. I gave up trying everything because I was so full. Service was beyond excellent. Everyone was attentive, our drinks were refreshed, water refilled and they came out and served the birthday cake. They even took pictures of our group for us. Honestly, this is the perfect place to celebrate a milestone. Glad we went here.

Yelp
Been going to this local steak house every now and then since it is 2 minutes from where I live. It's always been OK but tonight the veal chop I ordered had a weird smell. Not completely stinky to make me ask the waiter to take it back but enough that I did not enjoy my dinner and now I am keeping an eye out for food poisoning. i asked the waiter how they prepared it and he said grill... I told him what the issue was after a few bites when he came to ask how everything was going... a high-end restaurant should always take the meal away for safety if a customer complains... they did not, the guy assured me the meat is OK. Let's hope for their sake it was OK. I hate this happened because it is very convenient for me to go there (I went 4 times this week, just very close to home) but I won't be going back. Sorry!

Yelp
The Oysters and Baked clams were really delicious. They have fantastic food options and everything that great. The Baby Lamb Chops was really good and meat was so tender and well-seasoned. The restaurant has pleasant dining setting. Good lighting and spacious. Great place!

Yelp
If you're looking for a good steak, Edwards is where it's at. It's an old school small steakhouse that has been around for quite some time. It sits nestled amongst brownstones and very easy to miss if you're not looking for it. The staff is super friendly and attentive. They have a good wine list and the food is good. They have something for everyone on the menu with a few seafood and chicken items. I enjoy the crab cake appetizer. For the steak lovers the New York Sirloin Au Poivre is all you need. That cracked pepper and brandy cream sauce makes For such a flavorful dish. It's the reason why I keep coming back. They have several side options that are ala carte as well. If you're looking for a date night spot or a nice steak dinner, make your way to Edwards.

Chintan G.

Yelp
Absolutely pathetic place. Overpriced and the quality is shit. The chef is super rude and should be fired. Complete avoid. I hope this place shuts down for good.

Jorge G.

Yelp
I was looking forward to going there after experiencing some hardship. It was actually a personal goal after going through some medical difficulties. I have to say, the bartenders there are professional but do not go beyond that to be personable or friendly. Maybe they are with some people, but not with people like myself who they probably don't like for whatever reason, and they made me feel like I am not really welcomed. I did not appreciate that. I don't think I am going to return. There are plenty of steak places in the area to deal with people who will only put the bare minimum in making you feel welcomed. Thank you.

Yelp
First time at Edwards and always heard great things. Lived up to the expectations. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were also amazing. Great steakhouse datenight spot. Will be back

Megan M.

Yelp
Edward's Steakhouse is fantastic! The food and the service are perfection. The portions are very large (be prepared to take food home). We always have a great time when we dine here!

Tom B.

Yelp
Great steakhouse find within walking distance of the Grove PATH station. We were staying overnight in a local hotel and didn't want to go into the city. EZ walk to a funky little house about 3 blocks from the PATH. Everything was great from the appetizers to the filet to the desert. No, it doesn't have the ambiance of a happening Manhattan steakhouse, but we were looking for a quiet evening to enjoy our dinner. Prices comparable to other steakhouses in NYC. Almost $400 with drinks, wine, appetizer, two 12 oz filets ( cooked just right ), 2 sides, and coffee and desert ( and tip) . Probably won't come again as there are so many steakhouses in NY, but definitely a go to if you are in the area or staying in the area at one the local hotels.

Yelp
This is a review on a delivery order via Uber Eats. I got the 6oz filet mignon with the hash brown potato cake - that was really delicious. It arrived neatly packed and still warm. I would definitely order this again. I can't say the same for the "Baked Macaroni and Cheese." I honestly can't believe they have the audacity to call it a baked mac and cheese. It's shells with some sort of cream sauce. It took me a second to realize there was a little melted cheese on the pasta. Quite possibly the worst "baked macaroni and cheese" I have ever seen or tasted in my entire life. DON'T do it. Unless you want to be filled with rage and disappointment. I got a refund from Uber Eats.
google avatar

Arianna M.

Yelp
Been here a handful of times - always enjoy the food and service is solid. Bone marrow is a favorite, we end up trying a different cut of steak every time (always good) and favorite sides are the creamed spinach, mash potatoes and mushrooms.
google avatar

Joseph L.

Yelp
Best steakhouse around. My all time favorite place. Everything is outstanding. I had the veal chop tonight, which prompted me to make this review. I've been here 20+ times

Jenna M.

Yelp
talk about something left to be desired!!! I go to a steakhouse more for an experience than the food, but neither was very good. Everything felt rushed, yet the food came out cold. The waiter took our order before our drinks even came out. My friend ordered soup and even specified he wanted it to come out first, but it came out with his steak... and cold. The food came uncomfortably quick. Beer was served in a bottle and a glass never came even though we asked, the server reached over my plate multiple times. When we said no to dessert the check immediately came, forget about spending time and having a drink. Didnt know it was possible to be in and out of a steak house in an hour. I feel like Ive better service at a diner! just totally disappointed in this place. Side note - dont get the fish, it tasted fatty?? But my fault for ordering that at a steakhouse
google avatar

Leydiana S.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! I'm so happy we tried it out for our wedding anniversary dinner. The service was amazing from beginning to end. I had the stuffed shrimp with risotto. The shrimp were delicious and the risotto was cooked to perfection. The portion is big so I was able to take some home. My husband had the ribeye and creamed spinach. The steak was cooked perfectly and spinach was flavorful. The appetizer sampler was so good and worth it for the price. The drinks were also very good we had a lychee martini and a sidecar along with 2 glasses of wine. All were very good. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu as everything looks delicious. Kudos to the staff for their attentiveness!

Mitchell R.

Yelp
Good food, fair price for high end. Service not always great. I usually complain and then i get a waiter with experience.

Yelp
My friend and I wanted a nice escape from our everyday stresses and have a nice meal but not hop on over the river to NY, so we wanted something local. Edward's fit the bill. We had been here before with a group and liked it but enough time had passed we could look at it with fresh eyes (and palates!). It was a good meal, have to say. I got the rib steak "cowboy", which is dry aged, and was cooked exactly medium-rare as I ordered it. My friend got the filet mignon and he was very happy with it, as it was also cooked exactly medium-rare. For sides we had the garlic mashed potatoes and the fried onions. They were both a good compliment to our steak. We sat at the bar, but there is a really nice dining room upstairs. The staff was very nice, and the vibe was old-school but unpretentious. They also had some pretty cool specials I'd like to try the next time I am there. So even if steak isn't your thing, you can definitely still find something you like. Enjoy!

Yelp
I'll start off by saying im a bit disappointed in this place. Service was extremely mediocre snd food was meh. Once we were seated it took about 15 mins to finally get a drink order in, it then took another 10 mins to get the drinks. After drinks it took another 15 mins or so to be able to put our food order in. The only decent thing we had was the steak. Mac and cheese was definitely not fresh. It was stale and seemed it was sitting out all day. The wedge salad was extremely bland. The steak was cooked perfectly but needed their sauce for any sort of flavor. The resturant wasn't busy by any means and it took so long in between check ins and drinks. I personally won't be coming back with all the amazing options just across the river. We tried to stay local but it just isn't worth the money.
google avatar

Gillian D.

Yelp
Another great night at Edwards! We started with the sampler for two, filet mignon carpaccio and tuna tartare. Highly recommend the sampler and carpaccio, but we could have done without the tartare. It was fine, but I tend to prefer a tuna tartare with more of an Asian zing than was prepared here. After apps, we ordered salads - I got the wedge salad with blue cheese and it was *chef kiss* delish. They add shredded basil on top which made this wedge unique to versions you'd have at other places. For the main, we each had a 6oz filet, with sides of Mac & cheese, and the sautéed spinach. The steaks were perfection, the Mac & cheese creamy and flavorful. The sautéed spinach side was a bit bland - I probably wouldn't order that again, and in the moment had many regrets about not getting the shoestring onions. Welp, there's always next time!

Yelp
I am not much of a steak guy, but I sure do love their baked lamb chops with asparagus. We stopped here back in January for a bite to eat. I got the lamb chops and asparagus. My girl wanted the oysters with some other side choices. Kind of like a fancy upper class steakhouse from my experience. Lamb chops were good with the lamb jelly sauce, or you can choose rosemary flavory for the chops. Great customer service here. We will be cack.

Yelp
The location from the start is beautiful. An old prohibition building with history and elegance. The drinks here are amazing! Highly recommend a dirty vodka martini, was made to perfection. The menu isn't too large but the options are flavorful and very appealing. Cowboy steak is amazing, don't say no to the calamari, and the lobster was PHENOM! Def go to Edward's for any day of the week

Teddy F.

Yelp
I had the 16 oz NY Sirloin (with Au Poivre). I liked how the cracked pepper had a distinctive taste. Steak was nice and juicy. Had some of my wife's hash brown. Had a nice thickness to it. I could've given 5 stars but I had to temper expectations cause of price. The creme brûlée was good. Cost is what it is with a restaurant like that but nonetheless the food was very good.

Yelp
Came here for a date night with my boyfriend on a Thursday night and i am happy to say that the service and food was top notch. We definitely made reservations before hand and arrived at around 6:30pm. We were able to park by a school parking lot that's right in front because it was after 5pm so we didn't have to worry about finding street parking. As soon as we walked in we got greeted and seated right away. The restaurant is very romantic with soft music and dimmed lights. To start of we had a burrata salad which was delicious. We also ordered drinks. I had the saint Germaine cocktail and my boyfriend had the old fashion. I also order the filet mignon which was spectacular. The meat was so fresh and savory. That first bite i took was magical. My boyfriend had the New York steak which he also enjoyed. We had them with a side of Mac and cheese and asparagus. For dessert we had the lava cake. The dinner was simple WOW! Everything was delicious.

Yelp
An excellent traditional steak house that hit all the important marks with room for small execution improvements. We were seated quickly upon arrival. The table was wobbly which the staff resolved immediately. We started with some wine which was presented with class and it kicked off a great night. The first course included clams and spring rolls. Spring rolls were delicious with subtle sauces on the side. The clams were overly salty but the flesh was yummy still. Onto the main course, we ordered goth the porterhouse and aged cowboy ribeye. Both were cooked to perfectly medium rare per our request. I don't know if this is intentional or not but I felt both steak needed salt as it was a little bland on its own without their homemade sauce. The side of spinach needed a little salt too as it was bland. It's almost as if they thought since we said clams were too salty, they decided to omit all salt in the following dishes, haha. To finish off, we ordered the special lava desert cake. The cake came out a little too haha t which instantly melted all the ice cream stripping away the cold and hot combination of this desert. Even still, it was delicious with balanced flavors and not too sweet. It just needed to rest a little before you add ice cream on top. Overall, excellent service, reasonable prices, and good atmosphere.

Yelp
Edward's is a solid 3.5 - 4 star old school steakhouse. You won't get the fancy leather seats that Liberty Prime has around the corner nor the super fancy cocktails, but what you do get is a solid, white-cloth steak meal that won't break the bank. The service here is alright and can vary - I've been to Edward's when it was busy on a weekend and the waiter never asked if I wanted a second cocktail and I've been to Edward's during the week recently when the out of town crowds are not here and service was attentive and friendly. With that said, you will never be wowed by the service. In terms of drinks, the wine is never a bad idea. I've been disappointed with cocktails on multiple occasions... they are strong but taste off from the standard (in terms of Manhattan or Old-Fashioned). The food - well the food portions are generous usually seasoned well. You can't go wrong with any of the sides but the hash browns are a recent favorite. I haven't had a problem with how the steak is cooked, unlike other places in recent memory. You can not go wrong with a visit to Edward's!

Yelp
Great experience! The tomahawk for two was delicious, great service, and surprisingly tasty chocolate mousse cake. Would definitely return.

Yelp
I have been wanting to go for quite some time. It didn't disappoint! We went on a Sunday night at 6pm. Very little people were there and it was quiet. We ordered the porterhouse, has brown and spinach as sides. It was the perfect pairing to our opinion. Kitchen was very accommodating, we ordered Greek salad, if I remembered it correctly bc my friend doesn't like tomatoes they were able to get our salad with tomato and dressing on the side. Also gave us extra waffle cookies for the dessert. I really liked everything there, definitely is a recommend.

Yelp
Summary: for me this is a last resort, e.g. if I really need a steak on a Monday when the other steakhouses in JC are not open. Merits: Open all weekdays, unlike some of the other steakhouses in JC. The aged sirloin was top notch, very delicious, maybe better than any others I've had so far in this area. The other food we had was of quality expected in this league too. Service was excellent. I think there is a very small parking lot, but not sure how useful due to size. Was able to park on the street nearby and dine on a Monday. Your mileage may vary. Demerits: Ambience is just not on par with some of the other steakhouses in JC operating in this league. Dining is below ground level, so no windows. I just can't get past the feeling of sitting in a glorified basement. Just one open room with closely packed tables, no partitions, booths, or privacy. Steaks seem to only come in sizes of 20 plus ounces. Who needs to eat that much? Could we have smaller offerings so I don't have to endure the indignity to ask my date to split a steak? It's $50 plus for most entrées, and they don't come with sides. Add sides for $12 each. Maybe they can rethink that too. The parking situation doesn't compete with a couple of the steakhouses on the water.

Yelp
WOW! When I tell you everything was amazing, I mean it! My husband and I both ordered steaks which were cooked to perfection and we ordered a couple of sides to share. There was so much food that we had to definitely take some home. Although we were stuffed, there is ALWAYS room for dessert! Lol we ordered the chocolate lava cake which tasted great as well! All in all, the atmosphere was nice for a romantic dinner, the food was delicious abs the prices were great in our opinion. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Just visited Edward's for the first time with my girlfriend for a Valentine's dinner, and we had a fabulous time! This place is spot-on in every way. The ambience has a cool, classic feel to it, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive, the Moscow Mule I ordered to drink might've been the best I've ever had, and best of all, the steaks were PERFECT! I got the French rib "cowboy style", and my girlfriend got the porterhouse. Both were the kind of steak where your knife hits the bone and you feel sad it's over. Our sides (calamari and creamed spinach) and dessert (sorbet) were outstanding as well. No steakhouse is cheap, of course, but Edward's has earned the price tag and the hype. If you're looking for a dinner spot in Jersey City to celebrate a special occasion, this is it!

Yelp
I ferried dad into JC to host a dinner with a winemaking producer from the Veneto, the son of s former client and longtime friends. We had the entire dining room to ourselves, which st first alarmed me. Instead it was a blessing, as we could chat about other winemakers at a loud voice) as dad is 94 and his hearing isn't what it was. Anyway, tonights corn soup w/crabmeat special was well done, as was my carpaccio. Dad's petite filet was perfectly cooked, Giuseppe enjoyed his NY strip, the shared fries were hot, salty, tasty of potato (not always a given)!, and enough for 3. My crab cake was full of crab, and short of filler/as it should be. Prices aren't break the bank, and although parking is a chore, they do validate your ticket from the lot a block away, your net cost ends up at $5-which, weirdly, can only be paid by plastic only.

Yelp
Seated us on time. Waiters were very short staffed and disorganized. Nobody had a set table. Drink order and drinks took a while to come out. Oysters and escargot were good. Entree presentation was not great. Lamb was very fatty. Mac n cheese was one of the worst things I've ever eaten in my entire life. We had 2 bites of food. They did give us 2 free rounds but we paid for everything. The manager wasn't there or didn't come talk to us regarding the fact we didn't touch our food. There servers were very nice and worked very hard.
