"While going to eat at Edward’s doesn’t entail sipping martinis at a mahogany bar in a 19th Century brownstone at the moment, it does still come with tables full of oysters, dry-aged porterhouses, and garlic smashed potatoes, even if those tables are in a converted parking lot across the street." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, matt tervooren

"Edward’s is a short walk from lots of office buildings by the waterfront, and if you want to have a corporate card dinner at a steakhouse in Jersey City, then it’s pretty much your only option. But considering it’s right by the Path and the ferry, you’re better off spending $80 on surf-and-turf or $85 on a dry-aged ribeye at any of the countless steakhouses across the river in Fidi. photo credit: Alex Staniloff" - Matt Tervooren

Edward's makes you feel like home. The environment is warm and welcoming, the service is outstanding, and the food is absolutely delicious. We love the raw bar selection and the steaks are always cooked to perfection. The porterhouse for two has been our recent go-to, but everything we've tried here over the years has been a hit and we'll continue to come back.

Neat little restaurant - a bit dark with low ceilings but food was great and the service was fast! Porterhouse for one was huge - the accompanying sauce was delicious! Surprisingly loved the filet mignon carpaccio— a lot! Could skip the tuna tartare - felt meh and too mushy imo Oysters were small but delicious Bone marrow was alright Complimentary bread was 2 little buns - warm with butter and perfect amount of bread pre-meal

Place is spectacular excellent service attentive food was excellent fair prices as well. Really just lives up to the name and the reputation Stacy. My server was fantastic attentive and really push the limits of my expectations to this restaurant with her comforting service and recommendations she gave me an excellent experience that I’m not gonna forget to be honest and this might be a go to spot all the time. I don’t remember his name but the Irish manager at Time by the bar and the host desk was also very caring for his customers and me as well. Had a great Mother’s Day. I enjoyed myself. Can’t wait to go back. Even the bus workers were very sharp

First time trying this place. Everything we had was good. The calamari appetizer was great, tender and tasty. The tomahawk was cooked perfectly also. The house sauce complimented it well. Although the sauce did taste similar to Peter Luger’s sauce. Maybe that’s why. Overall, I would recommend this place over Liberty Prime.

Excellent service, for those who are starving on arrival this is the best restaurant ever!!!! The server showed up immediately with bread and butter which was warm and yummy. Their specials happen to be meals that myself and wife love ❤️ so we were over the moon about chicken parmesan. The service was superb, drinks were immediate, refills were a flash, cleanup of plates same! French onion soup is delicious, and the chicken parm breaded wonderfully, sauce is from scratch and had great taste, texture and so incredible. Overall it was a wonderful meal, made for a great Saturday dinner date. Prices are affordable, environment was ambience, not for children by any means, menu is generalized so fits most needs in regards to public. Highly recommend if you're visiting Jersey City.

Food was good, if you have a small appetite I recommend the 6 ounce steak rather than 12 ounce, I ended up taking half the steak to go. Everything else was great. Service was great but the tables for 2 felt very cramped and all placed in a row. We asked to be moved to a larger table and they said they were all reserved, however no one sat there for the 2 hours we were there. (Besides the row of two people, the rest of the room was empty). We went on a weekday afternoon so they were not that busy. I would suggest to utilize the space better or allow people to sit at the 4 person tables to spread people out better during days it’s not busy.

I had the chicken and mashed potatoes, a dish that filled me. My colleagues had steaks, no doubt the specialty, and they all devoured them. They had our table's preferred red, Quilt, and the stuff kept glasses full. The lower level ambiance gives a distinctly NYC feel.
