"Perched on the top floor of the former American Embassy and named after its architect Eero Saarinen, this restaurant and cocktail bar features a wrap-around terrace with views of the Oslofjord on one side and the gardens of The Royal Palace on the other. A wood-fired oven is at the heart of the cooking, which is fish-centric and takes a ‘fin-to-gill’ approach, so you might get cod tongue as a snack, then later its belly on the bone, enhanced by the richness of its liver and roe. Everyone is served at once from a tasting menu, and some of the dishes are presented ‘family style’." - Michelin Inspector

One of the sunniest and warmest days in Oslo 2025. It was nice to visit Eero where I drank a couple of GT’s one the terrace, ate a Beef tartar and enjoyed the perfect weather with a nice breeze. Personally, I have had better tartar’s however this is about taste, I like when the ingredients speak and a tartar tastes what it is. Eero had a vinaigrette which took over quite a lot but still, it was tasty. Just had the tartar and didn’t try the other dishes. I really enjoyed the smell from the outdoors grill where they cooked food. The service was top notch, really nice and happy staff, very helpful and made you feel very welcome.

Eero is a restaurant with a great promise. The food is good but lacks consistency between what it says on the menu and what you get (explains the three stars for food). As a sample, summer berries should have been summer berry (as in strawberry), and Oatcake ended as three biscuits. It's a nice sharing menu concept with a great view over parts of Oslo city. The three stars for services are because of the time it took to get attention and the fact that they do not sell coffee (you can get a Martini Expresso). Will I go there again? I hope so as the food is good and the atmosphere is only going to build as the peak of summer comes. For those that do not know, it is in the old embassy build that hosted the USA, worth checking out for that alone.

Dining at restaurant Eero was a wonderful experience. The seven-course tasting menu is a flavour experience far beyond anything I’ve tried in Oslo. Service was knowledgeable, attentive and made us feel relaxed and welcome. The highlight? The food! Everything was delicious, the bread course, croquettes and the dessert was to die for. Each course was paired with a carefully chosen wine that elevated the flavors, amongst my favourites Meursault from Patrick Javillier and the Dom Perignon 2006…. 💫

We tried the bar because the main restaurant was closed. The atmosphere was relaxing and chic. The food was worthy of a second visit. We had the tempura broccolini. It was grilled and then deep fried in a very light batter. Crunchy and tasty. The beef tartare with crispy onion was different but tasty. The mackerel in a simple lemon butter sauce was also great.

Was looking forward to this. But several of the courses was disappointing. I could eat the whole pork dish it was so dry. Before I could tell the waiters they had removed it and disappeared. Some dishes was good but overall it was not a great experience sadly.

Entrance is from Løkkeveien and elevator to 5th floor. Reserved bar seating 4 days in advance. Restaurant / tasting-menu was then fully booked. However the bar area is also mostly table seating. Very engaging host and servers. Started with a drink and ordered the quail from the bar-menu. The dishes are however quite small so I followed it with the halibut, which was even smaller but very good. I wish they had an option to add bread or roast potatoes, then it would have formed a more complete meal. Service was attentive most of the time, but my water glass stopped getting refilled in the middle of my time there. It was also a bit dissappointing that they did not have some of the craft beers on the menu, although it is not their speciality.

I had an amazing dinner at restaurant Eero! I was thrilled with how well the food was prepared, and I loved that none of the dishes were alike—something I often struggle with as a vegetarian. All the wines were perfectly paired, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I'm already planning my next visit! Highly recommend!
