"This Filipino food stand that got its start in Asian supermarket chain 99 Ranch has a new home in the cafe at Herndon Centennial Golf Course. Along with generous bowls with garlic rice, a lumpia, and a choice of sisig or adobo pork belly, there are fast-food adaptations such as an ube burger, with the buns taking on the purple hue of the yam, a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, garlic-heavy sausage longganisa, and pork belly fries. Order ahead online." - Pat Padua, Tierney Plumb

I really enjoyed the chicken and waffles with the spam fries definitely recommended it more then the burger. I do think the lumpia is expensive for the price and the three pieces they give you. The locations a little strange but it’s very clean inside, very homey definitely will be returning back.

Amazing hidden gem inside of the golf course. Honestly I would just go here instead of playing golf. This should be featured in some sort of diners, drive-ins, and Dives type of show.

Pleasantly surprised by this hole in the wall. Filipino food served in a municipal golf course cafeteria. I went for the ube burger or ube sandwich since it sounded interesting. Ube pancakes act as the bun with 2 longganisa patties, over easy egg and cheese in the middle. Would return here to check out the silogs.

This was our first time in this restaurant and we really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere (since it is located in the golf course ). Went here after church that is close by . We ordered ube waffle with chicken, lechon sisig, longsilog and palabok. The presentation was great and overall taste too. Overall, highly recommended.

Very good! I got the Silog with pork belly. Spam fries were interesting!

Unique location at the Herndon Golf Course. I would not have found this place had I not been specifically looking for Filipino food. I had the Silog breakfast bowl with Longanisa. He had the Ube waffle and chicken. We shared the lumpia and the adobo pork belly fries. Yes, that was way too much food. The chicken and waffle was a little dry, but the flavor was good and I would eat ube anything. Everything else was spot on delicious. I will definitely go back to try the rest of the menu.

I've been to the Fairfax location in the 99 Ranch Market and the food was amazing. We came to the original location and got the Silog Bowls (I got the Longanisa bowl with Garlic Rice, Lumpia and pickled veggies). If you want some Filipino food with a little twist, come by here 🍽

Thought Google was taking me to the wrong place when it took me to the golf course, but this little restaurant is there alright. Had the silog breakfast bowl with pork belly and it was really good. Would return!

Yelp
I visited Egg Karne today for breakfast, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The restaurant itself is spacious and inviting, with a beautiful view overlooking the golf course. The ambiance was perfect, with great music playing that added to the enjoyable atmosphere. My server, Ana, was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. She made sure we had everything I needed and provided excellent recommendations. Her warm hospitality really elevated the dining experience. As for the food, it was simply outstanding. I ordered the Adobo Pork Belly Egg and Cheese Bowl, and it was an explosion of flavors in every bite. The pork belly was cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with the rich adobo seasoning. The eggs were perfectly prepared, and the combination of flavors was truly delightful. The coffee was also top-notch, rich and aromatic, complementing the meal perfectly. Overall, Egg Karne exceeded my expectations in every way. The spacious setting, attentive service from Ana, delicious food, and great coffee made for a truly memorable breakfast. I highly recommend Egg Karne to anyone seeking a fantastic dining experience. It's a must-visit spot!

Yelp
I ordered the silog with pork belly, ube waffles with chicken fingers, and beef empanadas. Empanadas were too salty. Pork belly was dry and tough, not even a single piece of crispy skin. Fried rice was too sticky and no garlic, so definitely not Filipino style. They forgot to put in the ube waffles so I only got the chicken fingers which were generic. So if you're looking for authentic Filipino food, you'd be better off looking somewhere else.

Yelp
I couldn't tell from the pictures that Egg Karne was a little odd-spot café for the Herndon golf course. I was starting to doubt my Google Maps directions but fortunately, I saw their small logo on the building. The entrance was also weird. It felt like an emergency exit of the building and kind of prompted me to return to my car but I was like, "Heck, I'm here, let's find out" and went in. The décor was also not quite there. I read somewhere that the golf course sponsors it. Its owner probably wanted to offer food to the golfers. The overall feel of the place wasn't very welcoming or inviting. Its primary function was perhaps to provide some food and not much else. Honestly, if the food tastes good, I don't care about any of that. So, how was the FOOD? The meat bowls were tasty. The runny egg, oiled-up rice, and fresh chilis brought the balance. The downside to Egg Karne is that I didn't see anything else I wanted to try on the menu. The meat bowls were it. VERDICT: If you're craving Filipino food and live near Herndon, get their meat bowl. I wouldn't drive far though.

Rosecelie B.

Yelp
The foods was amazing. You have to go order your food first before sitting down. Like a self service. Its a little cute place located inside the golf coarse. Ambiance is great. I would recommend this place.

Greg K.

Yelp
I love the service (Raj, Mary, and Anna) and the food at Egg Karne. My only complaint is the price of a cup of coffee is $3.30 (plus tip!). I know it is Weird Brothers coffee, but this is ridiculous. I'll stop elsewhere for my coffee.

Yelp
This shop is located inside a golf course in Herndon. It's small inside but with big flavors of yummy dishes!! My favorite is their sweet pork longanisa silog bowl and spicy beef lumpia! If you have not had sweet pork longanisa, it is like sausage meat that is sweet sticky savory but it is ground up and topped on their seasoned rice. Their spicy lumpias are so good, always fresh. Crispy outer layer and very well seasoned stuffing inside. They do get busy, so we usually order pick up. And food is usually ready in 15-20 minutes.

Francisco L.

Yelp
Like many others have said, this place is hidden within Herndon golf course. We accidentally opened the door to the kitchen when trying to find the entrance oops! Once we found the cafe inside the golf facility, we had one of the best breakfast sandwiches in NOVA! We tried both the pork belly and loganisa egg and cheese sandwiches and they were cooked perfectly with a cheesy runny egg all within a soft brioche bun. Would definitely go back to try the other breakfast options

Cynthia C.

Yelp
We got this takeout for breakfast since we were working from home. Me and mom go the Longanisa rice bowl. My dad got the bacon bowl. My sister got the Ube waffles. And my boyfriend got the lechon sisig. Everything was amazing! We shared our food and everyone thinks the same. Our favorite was the longanisa though! It was so flavorful and delicious. Service was slow, it took a long time to get our food out. And the ambiance was super nice as it was by the golf course. Service needs to be improved, however food is perfect!

Yelp
We stopped by for brunch on our way out of town. We had no idea that Egg Karne was located on the Herndon Golf Course. While that was initially a bit shocking, once we saw the menu, we decided to stay and give it a go. So glad we did! I haven't been able to find a lot of Filipino food home. The idea of spam fries was probably the hook. We both got the Silog breakfast - one with sausage and one with pork belly. We felt it gave us a chance to try most of the menu, however, we did miss out on the Ube Waffle (neither of us were in Waffle mood). I cleaned my plate - the best recommendation I could give regarding the food quality. Portion size was decent. Yes, I would wish for a bit more, however, the prices are decent for what you get. Drinks, even soft drinks, were a bit pricy, but that is a function of being on a golf course. Speaking of the course, there is a few seats in the back that give you an excellent view. Overall, not a bad way to enjoy breakfast before heading home.

Ericka S.

Yelp
We decided to finally check this spot out before a round of golf! This has been on my "must try" list for a while now... and the wait was totally worth it! I ordered the Silog bowl with pork belly and it was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend! I want to try it again with spam! It was a great combination of umami, perfectly cooked rice, yolkie egg, and peppers. Loved every single bite of it... maybe a bit too much! Having that full of a belly kinda impacted my golf game! I would come back here again for brunch and get a bucket of balls to practice with, or even play 9 holes. The golf course and restaurant are laid back with out the elitism you get in some other spots. There were tons of to-go orders and even a sign w/ a QR code to order. Come for the food, stay for golf. It's totally worth it!

Alisha D.

Yelp
Hubby and I stopped here one day to have brunch after going somewhere else and it being closed. If was fairly empty we sat in the back under the chandelier which is very pretty and you can see people playing golf from there. The food came out fairly quickly and The food was good. Not ur traditional brunch. It was Korean rice bowls. But loved it.

Vina H.

Yelp
Inside the Herndon Golf Course!!! Never thought I would come to a golf course for food. Egg Karne has one of the most comfort food , silog with longanisa. It comes with everything you need for comfort. It has meat, pickled vegetables, rice, and egg. Loving it! They also have ube burger and ube waffle. Will deff come back. The place is not crowned and nice and sunny and very roomy to sit. The service was really quick too. Order and the food came in less than 5 mins!

Kassity L.

Yelp
Thought I had a review of this place from a long time ago. We used to come here almost every weekend when we lived in Reston. This place is truly a hidden gem. Offers Filipino food with a lot of street food options. We love their breakfast sandwiches - the egg is gooey and fresh made, and the buns are nice and soft. They also have spring rolls (veggie or meat) that are long, skinny and crispy. We also like their silog rice - garlicy, fatty rice with a meat topping (you can choose between a few different things - we like the pork belly), and an over easy egg. Inside is large with lots of seating.

J E.

Yelp
Came here with friends for breakfast one weekday and it was nice to see several others eating here as well, as it's in a very odd location, in a golf club house. The lady who runs it is very friendly and helpful. The place is huge, with lots of tables and their menu is very interesting, as it's loaded with lots of unique, Filipino dishes. The food is cooked to order, so it might take an extra minute, but it's so well-worth the wait!! Their spicy lumpia is incredible and has a heat that'll hit you a minute after taking a bite - YUM! Their Ube Breakfast Sandwich was incredible and very tasty! Everything we tried was great, fresh and full of flavor. Definitely suggest coming for an interesting, unique, and tasty Filipino breakfast.

Yelp
Egg Karne is located at the Herndon Golf Course, not exactly a spot where you would expect an awesome Filipino breakfast but that's where it's at. My husband had the Ube Waffle w/ Chicken and I had a Silog breakfast with longanisa. The Ube waffle meets the needs of the current Ube trend. Perfectly purple with that amazing Ube flavor. My husband was very pleased. The Silog breakfast meets the traditional style of the dish. The longanisa was chopped it which is a different than how I serve it at home but actually a welcome change. I may start chopping my longanisa when serving it at home. We also ordered some lumpia for a shared side. Very tasty but also slightly different style than we are used. The rolls are very long and thin. Still very tasty. They also serve "standards golf cafe dishes and have canned beer and other alcoholic drinks. Overall, a great hidden gem that I will definitely be returning to.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Overall this little cafe tucked into the clubhouse at the Herndon golf course serves some delicious comfort food. However, I am addicted to their spam fries. I think about the salty, slightly crispy fries frequently and tried to make at home without success. Their bowls are fresh and filling too--try the loganisia bowl.

Belauan B.

Yelp
Beside clean and good big widow that let the sun in the place, friendly guy who took my order. The food was not that good. The Ube Burger couldn't finish it. Maybe it was me cause I tried it for the first time and the taste didn't feel right. Anyways on the other hand the Lumpia. Oh God I think by far the unseasoned lumpia I ever eaten in my life . Yes my ancestors from PI so I get very picky when I eat lumpia. This one's had crunchy outside but the meat was Bland. and the sauce OMG they water it down with vinegar. So if you like Vinegar that's your thing I don't. I Been to this place before but I moved during COVID and was so excited to come visit again when I came to the area. I hope they will try and taste their food and adjust accordingly. I really like the place but I can't recommend this two food in my right conscience. Good Luck!

Brittany D.

Yelp
Located at the Herndon Golf Course, look for the sign located on the outside of the club house building and you'll know your there! Plenty of indoor seating with views of the golf course. The food was delicious and reasonably priced given its in Northern Virginia. The breakfast sandwiches were excellent (we tried the spam/egg/cheese) as well as the Silong breakfast bowls. Everything came out fresh, hot, and tasty. A bit off the beaten path, but don't let that stop you from giving Egg Karne a try. :)

April T.

Yelp
Sorry guys, I can't agree with all these rave reviews. There is or was an Egg Karne inside the 99 Ranch in Fairfax... they never seemed to have lechon sisig or adobo, so I thought I'd come out to the restaurant. I was definitely surprised it was on a golf course! We came around 2pm on a Sunday. Prime time for food considering the golfers right? Well right off the bat several menu choices were not available including fish and chicken tenders. These are not difficult ingredients typically as they are fried.. but ok. We settled on a sisig bowl, adobo fries, and ube waffle. I've had a lot of sisig and this one is heavily seasoned with liver. It's not crispy at all, and was only so-so. It was a bit disappointing as we frequently order sisig from other places and this one wasn't quite up to par. Next was the adobo fries. Basic ingredients for adobo are soy sauce, vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar. The best part of the adobo is letting all the ingredients meld together. Unfortunately these ingredients seemed quickly put together. The vinegar taste was quite strong and not well-balanced. It was like someone was making adobo for the first time. Lastly, we had the ube waffle. Since chicken wasn't available, we just had it plain. The sauce is actually quite nice though you don't get much ube flavor in the waffle itself. Overall, we thought it was a meh experience and prolly caters more to those unfamiliar with Filipino flavors.

Yelp
My girlfriend picked this place for lunch since we were making a few stops in the area. We've been trying to come here ever since it opened but we never had the chance. It's located right along a golf course, in the same building as the shop. We were having late lunch so there were only 2-3 people in their dining room which is a pretty decent size. They have a pretty big menu but we both ordered a longsilog bowl and an order of adobo fries. It did not take too long obviously and when it came out I was shocked at the amount of food. Well, I mean we brought it on ourselves. The adobo fry portion was huge! Very cheesy and a decent amount of meat. Not exactly the adobo flavor I'm used to but still pretty good. Only finished half. The longsilog bowls were also pretty weighty but I'll eat almost any meat over rice and just destroyed it. It's not whole longanisa links but more chopped up but still good. Lot of rice too which I love but wish there was a little more atsara. Lumpia was decent, not really meaty but I wouldn't say no to more! They have such a large menu that it would take forever to try everything but I would definitely come back. Hopefully they do open another location like this. I know they had Kusina before so maybe that could be revived somehow?

Yelp
About three years ago, I attended a Yelp Elite event in Rosslyn, and met a couple fellow Elite members who first told me about Egg Karne. I heard great things about this place and bookmarked it. Today, I decided to finally check it out with a friend, and was pleasantly satisfied with everything about Egg Karne. First, I was surprised that this place is truly situated at a golf course. Located in a residential area right before Historic Herndon, this place is tucked away at the Herndon Centennial Golf Course. I went inside and was surprised the amount of seating available. Raj was super friendly, and took the time to explain to my Filipino friend the various menu choices. We ultimately decided on the Lechon Sisig, Adobo Pork Belly Fries, Longanisa, and Ube Waffle with Chicken. I really enjoyed my Lechon Sisig. The chili peppers add the extra kick and flavor to the already delectable dish. I probably could have gone without the fries, as it was not super special to rave about. The Ube Waffle was delicious, and surprisingly not crispy like most regular waffles. The Longanisa was packed with flavor! Can't wait to go back!

Monica M.

Yelp
So good! First of all, I was not expecting this place to be at a golf course! My husband and I were so thrown off when we pulled into the parking lot that we thought we pulled up to the wrong place! We were right though. To the side of the golf shop lies a hidden gem of Filipino food with large windows looking out into the golf course. I took my husband here for his birthday breakfast! We order the -silog dishes. The meats we ordered were flavorful and had a nice sauce to compliment it. & Can't for get about the egg! The bowl of meat and rice was the just enough to get us full, but not "lazy full". We didn't order too much, but I'm sure the other dishes on the menu taste good too. I'll have to come back to try them out!

Jason C.

Yelp
Come enjoy breakfast with your family. Ube waffle and chicken and a morning on chopping and putting. Food is great and the fun around the course is even better.

Juan C.

Yelp
I almost turned around as this little gem is in the most unusual of places, but glad I found it!! If you are in the mood to have something zesty, flavorful and a little different than your conventional breakfast, then come here. Authentic Filipino flavors, GREAT eggs, and to top it off an awesome view of the greens!!

Chathu K.

Yelp
Nice place and very good service.. pork belly sandwich is okay and nothing unique about it but pork belly rice dish is great but not " kuya ja's lechon belly" great! but I would visit this place again!

Lily H.

Yelp
Been meaning to try this place and finally got around to it this past weekend. The restaurant is located literally in the Herndon Golf Course, right next door to the club house. Around noon, though the course was quite busy, we were the only ones in the restaurant the entire time we ate. Not sure if it never gets busy? There a decent amount of partly covered outdoor seating. We ordered several different dishes to try including sisig, breakfast sandwich, adobo fries, silog, and lumpia. All were pretty good with the exception of the lumpia (filling tasted mushy) and the fries (cheese was already cold and had already hardened into a glob). Prices were decent, we would definitely come back to try other sandwiches. The girl at the register who took our order also wasn't too friendly or helpful.

Nerissa M.

Yelp
The Silog Breakfast Bowl was so delicious, definitely a unique breakfast choice but it hit the spot!

Jane P.

Yelp
Checked out Egg Karne and was caught off guard that it was located jointly within the golf course. But make sure to check it out because the food was delicious and who can complain about a view of a golf course! Ordered the meat/egg/lumpia bowl over rice and this was our favorite. We chose the longanisa and it was delicious. The ube waffle is a good option if you want something sweeter, although the sweetness mostly came from the syrup. Give it a try if you're in the area or playing a few rounds of golf!

Emily L.

Yelp
Past this place a couple time before realizing it was actually part of the Herndon Golf Course! Had to try this hidden gem that's been invading my For You page on TikTok. We shared the Silong Breakfast Bowl and Adobo Pork Belly Fries. The fries were phenomenal and surprisingly weren't too salty as expected. The fries maintained their crispiness throughout the whole meal and the cheese really pulled everything together. My mom thought there wasn't enough meat and too much fry but that's probably cause my dad and I ate all the meat first. :) The Silong bowl was delicious as well and had tons of meat. The rice was flavorful and not too dry. The egg was PERFECTLY cooked - with the yolk runny when cut (my fav!). They forgot the lumpia in the bowl and quickly ran out to give it to us (very nice workers). Overall a great restaurant! The outdoor patio is dog-friendly and the view is nice if you enjoy watching golf. Definitely want to come back to try the ube waffles!

Christine H.

Yelp
Egg Karne is located inside the Herndon Centennial Golf Course and if you want something closer, they are also at 99 Ranch. The food is a SOLID 5/5 Where else can you get a hearty bowl of longaniza + egg over a splash of sriracha before your round? The Fried Spam are exactly what you think they'd taste like plus a little bit of added taste. It certainly is a bit salty, but then again, it's fried SPAM! Lastly, the Ube Waffle- Purple Yam, Sweet and Nutty is something that balances nicely with the other dishes. The sweetness of the use syrup and the delicate waffle balances nicely with each other. If you're ordering several dishes, I'd definitely recommend this so that the sweet and savory balance each other out.

Janet K.

Yelp
I was so excited to finally check out this place! They served classic Filipino food and breakfast items. I got the longanisa breakfast sandwich and Ube breakfast burger. They were pretty good. The longanisa sandwich had a juicy patty, an egg, lettuce, and some onion. I'd give it a 9/10. The Ube breakfast burger had 2 thick Ube pancakes as the bun, 2 (what I think) longanisa patties, and egg. It was a play on sweet and savory. I'd give it a 7/10 - it was a tad too sweet, but overall still good. I also got the spicy beef lumpia (one order came with 3 rolls) and the sauces they came with were soooo good. The lumpia was adequately spicy and had a nice flavor to them.

Ele A.

Yelp
Went back when we were in the area and the food quality went down. Ordered two bowls (Silog and Lechon Sisig). The Silog with pork belly was OK but came with some pickled vegetables which were not in the description which were honestly the best part of the dish. The Lechon had veggies also which were not on the menu - which I am allergic to. The rice for the bowls were both undercooked and did not taste like garlic at all.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Location: it's at golf course! -this surprised my bf and I. We thought we arrived at the wrong place haha but saw their sign on the side. Tried: ~EK Deluxe Burger - enormous double patty burger! A bit of an over kill but it was just a standard burger. Nothing fancy ~Adobo Pork Belly French Fries - the Pork belly and fries were good! The sauce was overpowering so we had to eat around the sauce drained fries ~Longanisa Sausage, Egg, & Cheese on Brioche - overall our favorite. It was sauced lightly and langanisa was cooked well ~Ube waffle - personally I liked it but it's very comparable to pandan waffles (pandan is a popular Vietnamese flavoring of our desserts) Not sure if I'll come back. But it was a wonderful first try!

Esther P.

Yelp
Hidden gem that absolutely smashes it out of the park with breakfast sandwiches. Outrageously delicious and to the point. What more can you ask for? Don't sleep on Egg Karne.

Cecilia J.

Yelp
Egg Karne is located at the Herndon Golf Course. Despite its seemingly random location, the menu is purposeful, well planned, and just plain delicious. This Filipino fusion spot focuses on breakfast and lunch offering trendy new dishes like Sisig Fries, Longanisa Brioche breakfast sandwiches, Arroz Caldo Fried balls (a Filipino take on Arancini), and Fried Chicken with Ube Waffles. Their waffle maker was down when we stopped by, but they were still able to whip up some delicious Ube Pancakes for us served with a special Ube Sauce and fresh Strawberries. The Ube flavor was very mild, but went well with the sauce and strawberries. We also tried the Pork Belly Adobo Fries. This is not for one person! This massive portion of fries is smothered in melted cheese and tangy adobo. My mom and I shared a portion and still couldnt finish it all! I would love to go back and try all of their menu items. The Filipino Fusion restaurants in the area are normally pretty pricey, but Egg Karne has much more affordable prices in comparison. The pancakes were about $7.50 and the massive fries was about $8.50. Those fries would have cost significantly more at any of the Filipino spots closer to DC. All in all great food, innovative menu, and good price point!

Kiley Q.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise to find this Philippino breakfast restaurant, in a golf course club house of all places!! I confess I haven't had much exposure to Philippine cuisine so I have no idea how authentic it is. I got the longanisa (type of sausage, a little sweet) breakfast sandwich, and my friend got the ube waffle and silong breakfast bowl. The ube waffle had a delicious bright purple dipping sauce. My breakfast sandwich was good and hit the spot. The longanisa sausage was a little sweeter than I expected but still tasty and was balanced by other flavors. I'd definitely come here again.

Anwar K.

Yelp
The owner did reach out and held true to his promise. So I owe this update! I appreciate the prompt action Alvin took to make this right! They indeeed let me order it how I wanted it next time.

David H.

Yelp
Finally was able to stop in after having this on my list forever. Overall pretty good - solid breakfast option, although the sandwiches are a little small for the price I think. We tried both the longanisa and chorizo sandwiches, and of course the longanisa was the clear favorite. Bun is great, egg is messy. Delicious. We also tried the pork belly adobo fries which were heavy but still very tasty. Love the pork belly and adobo dipping sauce.

Darrell L.

Yelp
Pretty unusual as this restaurant is essentially the snack bar at the Herndon Centennial Golf Course. That said, it's definitely not your average snack bar. The breakfast sandwiches are spot on with a nicely cooked over easy egg and your choice of meat (chorizo, sausage, longanisa etc). The Pork Belly rice bowl was also quite good with an egg and some pickled veggies. We wanted to order the pork belly fries or garlic rice but will need to save that for next time.

Khoi N.

Yelp
Egg Karne is Filipino fusion breakfast spot. We catered food here for a large party and everything was prepared and cooked perfectly. We ordered the chicken skewers, scrambled egg and cheese omelet bacon, Longanisa and sausage sandwiches. We loved the sandwiches since the meats were seasoned well. The combination of cheese with the runny egg, brioche buns and the meats added some great texture. You know the sandwiches are good when they have small brown bags for each one. We really enjoyed the concept here. Traditional Filipino flavors with a fun breakfast twist. We'll definitely be back to try their Arroz Caldo fried balls and all things Ube here

Sarvenaz S.

Yelp
We were looking for a brunch place and came across the yelp page of this spot. Pictures looked great food looked great. It's in a golf course. It's pretty much a cafeteria for the golf course. Pictures are very deceiving. The place is very dirty and smells muggy. Granted it's a nice view but the windows were disgustingly dirty you just wanted to eat and get out of there. My mind is blown as to why it has 4.5 starts. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the EK bowl and the breakfast egg bacon sandwich. I would rate the food 3/10. I guess we ate it because we were hungry. Would never go back here and would not recommend it to anyone.

Janrose S.

Yelp
Took 3 non-Filipino friends that were visiting DC for the first time here - two friends had garlic fried rice and veggie lumpia, one friend had the lechon sisig, and I had the ube waffle with chicken. I'm a sucker for chicken and waffles, and the added ube flavor was DELICIOUS! The lechon sisig was probably the best dish we had, but sadly the veggie lumpia and the garlic friend rice were a little lackluster. I think the rice needed more seasoning or more garlic flavor and if we had veggie lumpia with sweet chili sauce, it would've been better than the vinegar (but that's also somewhat personal preference). Will definitely be back, though!

David B.

Yelp
If you're looking for a break from the same old breakfast I suggest giving this place a try. Food is good and the service is quick and helpful.

Barbara W.

Yelp
Food is decent and reasonably priced but HOLY HECK the Ube Waffle is so heavily dyed with purple/ blue food coloring that it turned the toilet bowl blue the next morning and I had to Google why. Longsiga bowl was seasoned well and good portion for $10. Place is clean and staff is pleasant. Golf course parking lot can be packed on weekends but there is additional parking across the street by the baseball diamond.

Lyn L.

Yelp
Why is this my first review of Egg Karne? I am a devoted Ig and FB follower. I've dined here numerous times. Well, this review is long overdue. Filipino fast food is such a rare treat in the DMV. We discovered Egg Karne when the hubby played a round of golf with his buddies. He mentioned something about Spam and I did my research. A couple of years if they had a limited menu and yesterday. We took my parents here for a quick brunch. The menu was quite large compared to 2 years ago. Ordering is done through a walk up counter and then they buzz you when your food is ready. We started with a few items from the sharing the snacks menu: beef lumpia, vegetable lumpia and spam fries. My mom had the Silog that consisted of garlic fried rice, a fried egg and chopped up Longanisa(Filipino pork sausage). It was a gigantic bowl for about $7. My dad had the Buttermilk silver dollar pancakes that included 2 fried eggs and a Longanisa sausage patty. Hubby had a chorizo breakfast sandwich and a side of fries. I just ordered a couple Longanisa sausage patties and a side of garlic fried rice. The spam fries come with a spicy mayo and the lumpia comes with a couple types of vinegar and sweet sauces. All were delicious. Food is made fresh and you are definitely getting your money's worth. Staff is super friendly. The drinks are canned or bottled from their self service fridge. NOTE: they will be opening a stall in the new Asian Market in Fairfax in 2020. Keep an eye on it.

Yelp
Let me start of by saying WOW! I've been meaning to dine here ever since they opened and thankfully I was in the Herndon area and I just had to stop by. A hidden gem located inside a golf course, you won't miss the sign as soon as you drive in and park. I walked in not knowing what to expect and stared at the menu for a few minutes because I'm super indecisive when it comes to choosing! Maria was very helpful with my choice. She explained the menu and gave me a list of favorite picks by regulars. She was extremely attentive, helpful, and personable. She even let me on a little secret where the perfect lighting was to take my food pictures. Chatting with her was one of the favorite parts of my visit. The staff was friendly and customer service was excellent. I was craving sweet and savory for breakfast so after a long back and forth I decided on the Ube Breakfast Sandwich. For anyone that's not familiar with Ube, it's purple yam and a staple in the Philippines. I grew up eating it but it's only been trending in the last few years. The bread was made with Ube and the the middle part had a double meat of longanisa (Filipino sweet sausage), fried egg, and oozing with cheddar cheese. A hardy, delicious, and exceptional sandwich! The Ube bread was soft and delightful, I could eat it by itself. The sandwich came with an Ube sauce to drizzle on top of the sandwich and ohh-bae I was hooked. Overall, a pleasurable experience! Maria mentioned that another location in VA will be opening up in the near future. Definitely will be back for more!

Yelp
It was somewhat difficult to find, I didn't think it would actually be connected to the golf course center. It was ran by a sweet lady, I think it was a one man show. Felt bad because due to Covid, there was nobody there. My friend and I got the silog and it was pretty good! I can't complain since I never had philippino food before, it wasn't extravagant or anything in my opinion. Just fried rice with an egg and spam!

Yelp
It's hard to find real Philippine dishes. This is the place and they will not disappoint.

Yelp
A Filipino restaurant on the outskirt of a golf course. Overall it was alright. It's not a place I would go out of my way to visit, but I wouldn't mind coming back again. We ordered the Adobo fries, silog breakfast bowl, and ube waffles. - Pleasantly surprised at the large portion of Adobo fries. Very cheesey and very meaty. I was expecting a more traditional flavor for the meat, but I imagine it's good if you aren't coming in with an expectation - Lots of rice in the silog bowl- a very traditional Filipino thing to do! It was tastey. Personal I think it was too saucy but some folks do like it like that - The ube waffles lacked flavor. And they looked more black than purple. I was really looking forward to these, but the taste was a little disappointing

Yelp
Cute little eatery on a golf course. They serve breakfast foods and lunch. Order at the counter and pick up your food when they buzz your pager. Their kitchen is really small, just to the left of the cashier, also where you pick up your food. The dining area has plenty of natural light coming in from the big windows. It has a modern look and vibrant orange highlights. Ube Waffle w/ Fried Chicken - the ube syrup was spot on, it really had the ube taste I was looking for, they start you off with a small cup of it, 2oz. Syrup was not enough, but ask and they give you more. The waffle was a little flat, didnt really hold its waffle form so it was more like a thick, dry pancake. I thought it had a sour taste to it too so the extra syrup helped a lot. The chicken had a nicely seasoned breading, the crunch was nice but it was a bit dry when it came to the meat. Pork Belly Bowl - SALTY. really salty. The pork belly was nicely cooked, tasty and had good texture. The Sunnyside egg helped balance the saltiness of the garlic fried rice and the vinegar/soysauce drizzle they put on top. The lumpia was a nice touch, probably the best part of the dish.
