"Renowned for being one of the best places in the region for steak cooked over a barbecue grill, this excellent restaurant has a varied menu which also includes a few fish dishes. There’s also a very good wine list, plus the restaurant also offers comfortable guest accommodation." - Michelin Inspector

We just spent six rejuvenating days at the Eggentaler Hotel near Bolzano, South Tyrol. This 3-star gem consistently delivered 5-star service, food, and cleanliness. The profound quiet and soothing stream sounds ensured we rested deeply and truly unwound.||The restaurant is a standout. The T-bone and ribeye steaks were utterly delicious and melted in your mouth. Sommelier Moritz was funny, courteous, and spoke perfect English, adding a special touch. (Note: Reservations are recommended as it's popular with locals).||While the hotel mainly caters to German and Italian speakers, several staff members spoke good English, making communication effortless. Our mornings started with an enjoyable, relaxing, and complimentary breakfast where our cups were constantly refilled. The pool and hot tub were clean and refreshing, though the pool was a bit cool.||The Eggentaler's slightly out-of-town location is ideal for day trips into the stunning Dolomites or even Austria. Parking was plentiful. Our room included thoughtful touches like robes and slippers.||A huge bravo to the staff—Arnold, Ranko, and Herta—who made our stay unforgettable. We consistently felt like we were receiving 5-star service. For an exceptional experience in South Tyrol, look no further. And seriously, eat at their restaurant multiple times!

Visited Eggentaler for a week as an English speaking solo traveller and I cannot recommend them enough!! The location is perfect, nestled in a valley on the outskirts of Bolzano it is peaceful, with great views out over the vineyards of Bolzano. The room was excellent as were all the facilities. The breakfast provided was very tasty and varied & the morning waiting staff were so friendly. I ate in their on-site restaurant 4 times and every time I was blown away by the service and quality of the food and drinks. Every meal was a masterpiece, and surprisingly inexpensive for such good food. Special thank you to the male waiter with the long blonde hair, who always recognised me and delivered exceptional service! I will be returning!

The staff treats guests terribly. If you're not from Germany or Austria, they will simply ignore you — despite paying the same amount. The bathroom was very uncomfortable: the shower was tiny and torturous for a tall person. The bidet shower was broken and leaking. There were hairs left on the hairdryer. Overall, the room was poorly cleaned. The air conditioner hasn’t been cleaned since installation — all the blades were covered in dirt and dust. At the pool, there weren’t enough loungers for the number of guests. There is a small table in the pool area where you can enjoy drinks, but you can't order coffee from the restaurant because they only allow plastic. At the same time, all the other guests were drinking beer from glass bottles from restaurant and bringing wine glasses and glass bottles from their rooms. Also they don't have towels for the pool. Many people come to this place for the restaurant — as did we, reserving in advance. The service there was equally terrible. We waited 30 min to receive menu, then another 30 min for someone to take our order — and the restaurant was only 30% full. While our waiter was taking our order, another waitress rudely interrupted, speaking loudly about wine choices for other guests. It was extremely impolite and unpleasant. When it started to rain and we asked for an umbrella to be opened, she came back again, loudly complaining about it. We ended up spending 2.5 hours in in the restaurant due to being ignored by the staff. As for the food: the vitello tonnato was tasteless, with a bland, unbalanced sauce. The risotto and pasta were tasty but significantly overpriced for this kind of place. Moreover, the staff’s biggest mistake is assuming that guests who speak English don’t understand Italian or German. Unfortunately for them, I speak Italian and understand German well and understood everything they said. My friend doesn’t speak the language, so we chose to communicate in English. This was the most overpriced and disappointing place we stayed in throughout our entire trip to the Dolomites. I do not recommend it

Fantastic hotel with an excellent restaurant which specializes in meat but other dishes are also highly recommended. Loved the service attitude of the staff, the amazing wine list and the cosy restaurant. Will be back for sure!

I've been coming here since a years. My hotel in Siusi makes reservations every time. It doesn't help, as it turns out, even to be loyal. The langoustines were ordered the day before and they weren't fresh.. 😏 It's a shame because it's a good restaurant and it shouldn't be like that.
