New York’s Outstanding Curries - Eater NY

"This Jersey City restaurant with Gujarati leanings specializes in chicken ova, and mounts a massive menu with dozens of choices — boiled, scrambled, and poached. The one called maniac egg curry features broken boiled eggs in a spicy tomato sauce, served with a Mumbai flourish: chopped raw onions and slices of toasted white bread. I’d eat this for breakfast every day." - Robert Sietsema

I ordered a Paneer Ghotala it was an absolute disaster—drenched in oil to the point of being inedible. It felt more like a heart attack on a plate than a meal. The paneer was mushy, the spices were off, and the overwhelming grease left me feeling nauseous. I wouldn’t be surprised if eating this regularly led to serious health issues. Avoid eating at this place at all costs!!

Google
I ordered boil tikka and lasun Fry ! I mentioned two times in the instructions to put less oil and butter and this is what i get from store! They put oil like a hell this is what i got even after telling them to add less oil so if this is there less oil receipe i could imigine what they would have add in their regular order! This is not the first time this happened my friend also ordered with less oil and she got same, she trusted to order again and end up getting same! If you want to die with heart attack because of oil and butter then only go with this place! I would not recommended this place ever to anyone!

I really wanted to like this place after learning about it via social media. So I used the occasion to visit friends who moved to Jersey last summer. We got six dishes: Egg Katori, Australian Fry, Volcano Biryani, Leela Lasun Bhurji, Tadka Dal-khichadi, and a Chicken Peri Peri sandwich. Some were really good, some were kind of perplexing (not in a great way), and one was bad. The good: The Leela Lasun Bhurji (scrambled egg curry with green garlic) was really really good; probably the best thing I had. I would recommend anything from the green garlic menu. It was pungent and spicy (though they said it was medium--I tried to get them to make it spicier and they said no for that dish). Great dish! The Peri Peri chicken sandwich was also really really good. It was kind of a grilled cheese sandwich with chicken and veg in it and some kind of cheesy-seeming sauce. Anyway, it was really good and worth trying. the Tadka Dal-khichadi was basically a red dal; my friend who got it really liked it---though it was pretty heavy. I liked the chili oil and dried peppers on top--which I took and put in my dish (another consistent theme with this restaurant seems to be not making the food spicy). The egg katori was fine; like masala-spiced deviled eggs covered in cold shredded cheese (the shredded cheese made an appearance in several dishes). This seems to be one of their "big hit" dishes. The Confusing: Australia Fry: A very thin tomato sauce with random chunks of hardboiled egg whites in the bottom....and LOTS of that cold white shredded cheese on top. It wasn't great. The Bad: Volcano Biryani: this is supposed to be another signature dish and it was not great. I asked for 10/10 spicy and it was one of the least spicy dishes. It was also super rice-heavy and dominated more than any other dish by the cold shredded cheese. There was also an omelet hiding on the bottom. In summary, some dishes were good; nothing except maybe the green garlic dish were worth coming back to eat. Also, I think the eating experience would be much better if they just cut the shredded cheese in half.

Google
Eggomania in Jersey City has friendly staff and is a very busy place. They have a slightly different process where you need to order first, like at a fast food outlet, and then they serve you on paper plates and bowls. This is convenient because you can dispose of the plates after your meal. Everything we ordered was good, and the service was quick. The ambiance was nice. Unfortunately, they don't offer Wi-Fi. The restroom was clean. As is common with Indian street parking, it was difficult to find a spot.

Google
A great spot for people who love eating eggs! Good food. Very okay ambience, fast food types, with "some" seating space. Street parking. We ordered: Egg Paplet - It was really good, served with toasted bread. We got Pav and roti also along with it. Volcano Biryani - We were disappointed, it was very okay, needs improvement. Sweet Lime Soda, Mango Lassi - Good, as expected. Portion size is good for the price. The above is order is good for 2 people. Rating - 4/5

Google
ROBBERY AT ITS BEST. OVERLY PRICED, MEDIOCRE FOOD QUALITY AND ABSOLUTELY LOWEST QUANTITY POSSIBLE Ordered a singular curry for $14 as a take out and they filled the bowl only up to 75%. Look at the pictures and then decide for yourself. I ordered a desi kheema as a take out for which they charge $14 and they didnt have courtesy to fill the bowl. Also the curry was average tasting. Felt way too salty.

Been there once a few years ago and loved it so much that we decided to visit this place every time we come to jersey. Been there this weekend and had a great experience. Tried lasun fry, omlette and volcano biryani and they were all so delicious. loved the wacky wall frames too.

Google
Deeply Disappointed — Not the Eggmania I Remember What a letdown. This is definitely not the Eggmania I fondly remember from 2014. The staff behaved as if serving food was a burden, showing no courtesy or basic customer service. It felt like they were just there to clock in hours — no passion, no care for food quality, and certainly no effort toward creating a good dining experience. The food prep area looked unhygienic and poorly maintained — frankly, a health inspection is overdue. I won’t be returning.

Yelp
Amazing taste. Variety of dishes with perfect Indian taste. The service was exceptional. I have been to Jersey City, Iselin, and the food truck located in the Bay Area. Must try Veg Peri Peri sandwich and Leela Lasan Kachu.

Yelp
After a couple of attempts to go visit them, we were able to come on a lunch day. They were still prepping a lot of eggs in the sitting area. The location is smaller than it looks but works well with the small portion food they offer. We asked for the most popular dishes and got 10 answers. Picked ones we liked, paid and sat at the booth. Food came quickly. Place was not full yet. Well made and spiced up. But too much for me even when I asked for super mild but it is what it is. Recommended for food and service!

Yelp
Tried this place on a Sunday and it is the perfect brunch spo-- scratch that, it's kinda perfect for any time you want delicious, desi snack/small meal food. Staff were super nice and probably accustomed to customers coming in with their mouths watering, so I was appreciative that they were okay with my indecisiveness. We ordered the Boil Fry, Pav bhaji and Maniac curry- all amazing, with Maniac being the spiciest dish on the menu. The curry/sauce/flavor of the boil fry was amazing! The sort of curry I'd eat with a spoon by itself! To me, it tasted kinda like traditional Bengali flavor, but you be the judge. Anyway, it was so good. Pav bhaji also had a very authentic taste, so that was a treat. The place is small, so not good for large groups but it is definitely worth stopping in. Sorry no photos :-(

Yelp
I usually don't have high expectations from casual Indian restaurants but this was way worse than I could've imagined. We ordered two rolls and egg kheema on a delivery app. The kheema was missing the bread and drowning in oil. A complete Rip off that it comes with bread and they didn't give it. And why ask for oil preferences (we selected less oil and butter) if you're going to add so much? Rolls were literally just using regular tortillas instead of rotis or parathas, no chutney or dip. We selected regular spice level but it was so spicy for some reason (I have a decent spice tolerance so I was surprised) so wasn't enjoyable. Overall such a horrible experience. Never ordering from here again.

Yelp
This is my happy place. Such amazing tasty egg dishes are made here. Accompanied by breads and toasts cooked with real butter. They are open late, so there's always lots crowd in the evening hours. The restaurant has lots of tables. There's some wait time for dining in. Take orders are done within 15-20 minutes during peak hours. My favorites here are Surati Gotala, Egg Curry, Boiled egg and mango lassi. If I take them to go, easily it lasts me 2-3 days to finish couple of them. The masala, sauce, egg, curry all are authentic, made with excellent ingredients. Parking around the restaurant is difficult. Most street parking spots and parking lots are always full. Might have to drive around or park little far to find a spot.

Yelp
Unassuming Indian restaurant in jersey city with the best regional Indian food I've ever had! A lot of egg specialties here -- get the Surti Ghotala -- it's made with hard boiled eggs chopped into a rich gravy of Indian spices with egg yolks mixed in. Served with bread this is a spicy and flavorful combination that had me reaching for more with each bite. Also tried the Bombay style sandwiches and wasn't disappointed with the taste and quality. Great place to sample some Indian street food and take your taste buds on an adventure

Yelp
Delicious stuff! I like the roll from the apps, the sandwiches, the volcano rice, and the choco drink. I don't like that they currently refuse to give you tap water (so you have to buy a bottle of water). Very uncool, in my opinion.

Manan S.

Yelp
I barely put any reviews, BUT THIS? Horrible flavor and quality..look at the amount of oil in a serving. Everything was literally swimming in OIL, I drained the oil and quantity became almost half. I used to like this place a lot! Hope I can say the same.

Yelp
My order: Egg Katori, Desi Gotala, & Cold Coco This is a street-style Indian restaurant in Jersey City that is mainly known for its EGG DELICACIES! I got their Gotala, which was a mixture of sunny side up eggs and spicy Desi Kheema which was a really tasty combination!! As for the Egg Katori, it came with half boiled eggs filled with masala and topped with cheese. This was basically the Indian version of deviled eggs and I absolutely loved them! And lastly, the coco was a delicious thick chocolate drink with chocolate chips. The appetizer and entree were beyond doubt chef special worthy and the drink is a must try if you're a chocolate lover!!
google avatar

Kusum R.

Yelp
This place has amazing dishes! There was a lot to choose from but I went for surti gotala. It's def on the spicy side so I would suggest don't go for it unless you really enjoy spicy food It was very tasty and comes with a side of bread. The only disappointment for me is it was too oily for my taste. The service was fast and the crew is quite friendly They have an option to dine in and takeout as well. You might find parking nearby but might be out of luck on a busy Friday evening. Overall definitely recommend to try !

Vartika S.

Yelp
While the food taste is good( one of the reasons I order delivery regularly from them). In my last 6 orders over the last 2 months, each time something or the other is alway missing. I've ordered masala omelette with cheese multiple times and each time they've forgotten the cheese (this when they charge $2 for it) and since last 3 times the omelette is half the size it used to be. Same with egg burji in my order from today which had 2 egg burjis each container came with half the service size! Maybe dining is better at this place even tho the dine in experience isn't good but at least you'll get what and how much you paid for! And they never pick up there phone so you can't even complain about the missing items or give them any feedback!

Chirag M.

Yelp
Overall the food and the service was good. We ordered Surti Gotala (excellent ) , Samosa Grill Sandwich (okish) , Paneer Masala Sandwich (good) , extra bread .

Sarthak S.

Yelp
I would give negative stars for their consistency of taste if possible. Their food is ok and I typically order only 'Desi Kheema' and I know very well how does it taste. Today, I ordered the same usual Desi Kheema from their app (order #67 placed on 3/21/2023) and I wanted it to be 'Regular' level spicy. But they made it so spicy that I am feeling acidic. WHICH PART OF 'REGULAR' DO YOU GUYS NOT UNDERSTAND? STOP PLAYING WITH CUSTOMER'S HEALTH. I am attaching a proof of my order. Secondly, dont you dare tell me that the dish is generally spicy because its not. I have been eating the same dish ever since your eatery started. Also, your app doesnt mention how much spicy dishes are in general. I can understand that it might be your staff's mistake, but that should not come at my health's or any customer's health's cost.

Yelp
Had egg curry(surati kheemo) and would recommend it.. good street food vibe. Awaiting to visit other locations

Yelp
We were hungry around 10:00pm and we searched for an Indian place to eat. We came across Eggmania and we were hungry for food. For the food we ordered Surti Gotala, Paneer Toofani, Chicken Masala with Extra Bread and Soda. The service was quick and we got our food quickly. The food was cooked in Indian Spices and we can smell that it was freshly made. The best was suri gotala and it was amazing and delicious. We loved its taste and it was delicious. Do try Surti Gotala from Eggmania whenever you are in New York. We loved the food of Eggmania and each and every item was freshly prepared.

Yelp
Loved the food specially ..... Australian egg , egg fry and egg sandwich is good won't recommend samosa sandwich but loved all other dishes .... They were about of Rajwadhi lassi but I am sure must be too good after trying all four dishes.
google avatar

Ahana D.

Yelp
Super innovative idea! I've seen stores like this in India but to have one here is awesome! Mostly egg based dishes like the name suggests! The boiled egg fry was my favourite followed by the egg sandwiches! It was delicious and definitely recommend for a foodie adventure :)
google avatar

Yelp
I have been waiting to order the Volcano biryani from here since a long time. It looked great, but was extremely spicy. Maybe you might want to ask them to keeep the spice low the next time you order this.

Yelp
Went here for a late lunch on Saturday afternoon and this place was empty. Ordering was very straight forward, and we ordered a couple of things between the 4 of us. We started off with Egg Katori ($6) which were 4 x half boiled eggs with masala and cheese in it. They were absolutely delicious and clearly pass at a desi deviled eggs (only better!). While ordering, we were given an option if we'd like the food cooked in butter or oil. Our hungry stomachs were craving butter and that's what we went with. For mains, we got Tawa Paneer Bhurji ($11), Cheese Paneer Masala ($12), Goti Fry ($11) and Chicken Keema ($12). The Paneer Bhurji and Goti Fry had a very similar masala and the Chicken Keema was very spicy. We got some bread and chapati as well as accouterments. Food overall was very heavy on spices and oil, so towards the end, the oil/butter gets to you. I wish they go a little easy on oil. Service was quick and our overall experience was positive. The only annoying bit about this place (at the very beginning) was they kept playing 1 song on loop (looped at least about 5 times) which eventually got really annoying. Thankfully, they changed the song after those 5 repeats! Will definitely revisit if we are in the neighborhood again.

Yelp
Egg mania is one of the most authentic Indian street food restaurants in Jersey city; hands down. I keep going back for more. My favorites are Egg Katori (spicy, cheesy and so flavorful Indian version of deviled eggs) and Egg Paplet (stuffed omelette in a gravy with grated egg whites and cheese served with rice/ bread). I have also tried their Volcano Biryani and loved every spoonful of it. They have a pretty good menu and I cannot say I have tried everything but everything that I have tried so far has been delicious and not to mention so nostalgic. Absolutely love it ! Staff is pretty good (at least in my experience). I will continue to order from Egg mania :) If you are in the area and are craving some Indian street food I cannot recommend this more ! They deliver via indicooks or DoorDash (there maybe be more delivery options but I have tried the above two)

Vaishali S.

Yelp
Go to spot for spicy Bombay sandwiches and egg curry's as well as best paneer cheese masala and best surti keema
google avatar

Sunny P.

Yelp
Great consistent food with proper masala to help you taste Indias best eggs and also vegetarian options you will love. Come hungry.
google avatar

Roma M.

Yelp
Have been here 4 times now, its a must visit whenever we go to NJ. Love the Volcano Biryani and Surti gotalo. You can even ask them to make your dish spicy and make it in butter for all the goodness. Reminds me of egg dishes in Vadodara, the egg capital of Gujarat :)
google avatar

Ankush D.

Yelp
If you live around Jersey City and haven't tried this place, you've been missing out on the authenticity of the Indian street food. It doesn't get any real than this. Their flagship Volcano egg biryani is definitely awesome. In fact everything on their menu is just great. We keep coming back to 1. Volcano Biryani 2. Boil Tikka 3. Bhurji Rice or Egg Pulav 4. Lasun Fry or Surti Gotala And in that order. Buttery is definitely great. And if you are here try the Nandoo's Dabeli next door, it's Mumbai nostalgia in a pav.
google avatar

Ankita D.

Yelp
They use too much oil and butter in their food. I am always worried that my stomach is upset after eating here. It happened once and I haven't eaten there since. On the contrary my partner loves to eat here because it reminds him of street food from India! So depends on what you are looking for and might be worth trying if you are interested in getting a taste of Indian street food.
google avatar

Dipika A.

Yelp
I have been here so many times, but it's taken me so long to review them because I never get a chance to take pics once the food arrives. Everyone downs the food so quickly! Pretty much everything here is delicious and they have a lot of vegetarian options. My favorite is their paneer masala sandwich - 3 layers of perfectly spiced paneer, mayo, cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions. Comes pressed and cut into four pieces. Its seriously the best, and I highly recommend it! They take orders over the phone as well, and it usually takes about 15-20 mins before you can pick up as they are always busy.

Yelp
Eggmania probably is my most favorite place to indulge myself on the Indian street in Jersey City. These guys know how to make real tasty food, as long as you won't mind the ton of butter/oil they use. The restaurant specializes in 'Surati' cuisine which is based off a city from the Indian state of Gujarat. They are known for their egg and paneer dishes served with white toasts, they also serve a few chicken dishes these days. The food served here is the most unique among all the Indian restaurants in Jersey City. The menu doesn't include the most common Indian curries like Dal Makhani or Paneer Butter Masala, they serve dishes that I haven't come across before anywhere else in NJ. I have frequented this place several times over the past few YEARS and probably had tried each and every vegetarian dish on their menu. I absolutely love their Paneer Lahori which is a rich creamy curry with Paneer. I also like having Cheese Paneer Masala and Samosa Grill Sandwich. The food is very tasty and flavorful and the menu is vegetarian friendly. However because of the amount of butter and cheese used in the dishes, it becomes a pretty heavy meal. I would give them 5 stars if the review was for their food alone. However the place has average ambience and often involves long waits for a spot especially during weekends. One has to place the order at the counter and the food is served at your seat. They could also improve on keeping the seating area a bit more clean and less cramped. During the summer, they do open up outdoor seating. Recommendations: Curries: Paneer Lahori, Cheese Paneer Masala Rice: Paneer Volcano Biryani Beverages: Masala Soda, Mango Lassi Overall for food alone it's a must try unique Indian restaurant in Jersey City.

Yelp
I'm so sad that I have to give this place 1 star after all the great things we heard about it. The first time we ordered takeout, we got the paneer biryani and egg jetty roll. The food was so spicy (even for Indian standards) that it was completely inedible. I mean it hurt going down! We literally had to cover the entire plate in sour cream to eat. You couldn't taste any flavor except for straight up chili peppers. We decided to try again a few weeks later because our friends love this place. This time we ordered the volcano biryani and boil fry, While it was still spicy, this time it was much more appropriately tolerable and you could taste spices and flavor other than just heat. Unfortunately, I was sick for a week after that dinner. I'm not sure what other people are raving about but we will not return.
google avatar

Mohammod A.

Yelp
Got the Katoria egg with butter. It was delicious - a bit heavy on the butter, but such a great little snack/ appetizer. I'll def come back again and try some more stuff on their menu.
google avatar

Hiten L.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in the mood for some street style indian food, this is my go to. Everything on their menu is delicious! Staff is friendly and quick!
google avatar

Minaz M.

Yelp
Went here with 5 others on a Sunday night at around 9pm and it was busy and crowded! Got seated in about 10 minutes. The bathroom isn't super clean. We ordered family style: 5 entrees (comes with 3 slice breads), 8 rotis (super soft and yum), 3 masala sodas, and 1 extra side of slice bread... and ended it all with 3 rajwadi cocoa (desserts). I think 3-4 entrees would have been sufficient for us but the food was so yummy we finished almost everything - only left a little of two entrees and took it to go. Garlic/ lasoon fry was my favorite! See pics for what we ordered. Paid $100 before tip which equates to $20 per person (including 20% tip) and for the amount we hogged, the price was well worth it!! PS the food tends to be on the spicier side so order with caution!
google avatar

Yanedt T.

Yelp
I don't know where to even start! This place is absolutely DELICIOUS!! The Bombay Grill Sandwich of any kind are my favorite! Highly recommend anyone to stop by & try it.
google avatar

Mayuri K.

Yelp
This is the second time ordering take out here and can I say that it's still very good. We got the Desi kheemo and a special chicken kheemo in medium spice. The desi kheemo tasted luxurious and was really yummy. The chicken kheemo was as good too. They both held up on their spice scale too so if you can't handle the spice stick to mild. You can never go wrong with any dish from here. Also, there is a lot of oil/butter that goes into these dishes so just be wary. Definitely need to try this out if you're in the area. I can't wait to try out other dishes from this place next time I go.
google avatar

Amey P.

Yelp
One such experience. It was delightful to have authentic cuisine related to eggs. I was astonished by the varieties they're serving and that too with a twist of Indian spices was icing on the cake. So I ordered surti ghotala, which my friend suggested and believe me it was yummy! A fine gravy with eggs slashed in it. Wow! Secondly I ordered samosa grilled sandwich, so it was three layered sandwich filled with samosa, cheese, onions and tomatoes. And lastly for desert I ordered Rajwadi coco, mmm absolutely mouthwatering, a chocolate shake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, dry fruits and crushed chocolate. If you're planning to visit the place, don't have second thoughts. Do visit. All the best team, keep up the good work! Will visit again. Thank you for your service!

Pat S.

Yelp
We have a raging pandemic and the staff is unmasked. Nothing in place to reduce spread. The hours say open at noon, the staff walk in at noon, so they aren't ready to serve customers at noon. They can take orders, but not deliver. Food has a monotone or duotone taste profile. Not terribly impressed. Masala soda had no masala, only lemon. Not sure I'd go back for more.
google avatar

Umber S.

Yelp
Their chicken masala sandwich is delicious but spicy. Be sure to ask for milk or medium. Their chocolate cashew drink is also one of a kind, with chunks of cashews and chocolate at the bottom. I do not recommend their volcano rice- where do I begin except to say rice does NOT need mozzarella cheese and extra spicy sauce on it. It was just too much. I had to cook white rice and mix it and even then the rice rice was over powered with spice and masala: lessen learned to stick with what you know it good: the chicken masala sans which. It's also halal!
google avatar

Vishal P.

Yelp
Don't let looks deceive you. This may look like a hole in the wall but it's a hidden gem of a spot. The food is worth it! They have a variety of egg based curries that are all flavorful and very spicy. We came with a group of 5 and sat in. We had to wait a bit since it was crowded but it was worth the wait - everything came out one to two dishes at a time and served family style which was good for us because we were able to try everything and take our time enjoying it. We got the Maniac Curry, Boil Tikka, Tawa Paneer Bhurji, Hyderabadi Egg Rice, and Volcano Biryani. Loved all of it Coming back here again, but probably for take out

Sid D.

Yelp
Always loved this place. Not just their egg dishes are great but chicken keema and sandwiches are one of the best in Jersey City. May be the best. Would highly recommend if you are vegetarian or a eggitrain.
google avatar

Ekta D.

Yelp
If you're visiting NJ-NY this hasss to be a pit stop! Amazing, delicious(emphasis on this one), perfect taste(can literally make you drool) food. You can't go wrong with any item on the menu but my all time favorite is the 1) Masala Sandwich( Reminds you of India, Bombay to be sepcific) with all the cheese and masala 2) The Surti Gotala also the Paneer Gotala 3) Anda Lahori (Butterly Delicious) 4) Volcano Biryani 5) Lachko 6) Cold Coco .. there's a lot more but these are my top rated. Good enough to put you in a food coma Always needed an uber back home after eating here :D Excellent service, super friendly staff and of course the food, its to kill for. Been a must visit for everyone who comes here and left with happy food high faces (Jersey Location is my favorite though)
google avatar

Akshar P.

Yelp
Great experience all together.... It was my birthday and they treated me with this chocolate burst sandwich with scoops of icy cold ice cream and these rajwadi cocos were just **droooling** delicious... Lachko and Anda Lahori were star for the night and cherry on top were sandwiches... The best i had once i left mumbai... I have never had these grill sandwiches in past 2 year... My blind spot to go....
google avatar

Manika M.

Yelp
Amazing keema pav and the new butter chicken. Will definitely go back for these two. The sandwiches are also good..very desi style. Love them. I find the volcano biryani a little over hyped but overall it is a nice place with a bunch of good options to eat from.
google avatar

Vania C.

Yelp
Delicious. Took the in-laws here (who are from India) while visiting NYC. We had Boil Fry, Goti Fry, Volcano Biryani, and a paneer Bombay sandwich for my MIL who doesn't eat eggs. Authentic and delicious. The Goti Fry was the star, buttery cheesy gravy over eggs, yum! The Volcano Biryani was spicy and delicious as well. Everything was so good and a good value for the food. A must visit in Jersey City's'Little India'.
google avatar

Falguni S.

Yelp
Worst service do not go here. Instead of the normal red cooked masala in the half fry masala they gave eggs with raw vegetables on it and masala sprinkled. When I asked the guy to change it he said no this is how it should be and that I was wrong. They did not accept their mistake. Will never go back again here and would recommend you eat boiled eggs at home rather than coming here.
google avatar

Mitesh J.

Yelp
I ordered paneer toofani sandwich and Tawa paneer burji. The sandwich had 3 layers with seasoned paneer, cheese, bell peppers, onions, and tomato. The Tawa paneer burji is what pulls me back to this restaurant every time. Pro tip: ask for the paneer burji to be made in butter and it'll be scrumptious. The spice level was perfect. It reminded me of India in every single bite. I come with my friends and family all the time. Although the name of the restaurant is Eggmania, it serves paneer for vegetarians and others who prefer to avoid eggs. One of my favorite restaurants to eat paneer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
google avatar

Bhavika C.

Yelp
Visited this place after a lot of recommendation from a local friend. Typical Indian Tapri food. Too much butter, service is very quick . Decent place and the taste was Ok . I tired the tawa paneer bhurji and Egg curry(surti gotala) . I loved their masala chaas(butter milk) it was loaded with some nice spices. The dishes came with Bread(again tossed in butter) and some onions. We ordered some Roti as well. Prices were pretty decent!!!
google avatar

Sampad D.

Yelp
Loved this place . Awesome food. Primarily they have different style of egg dishes but you can find chicken sandwich and some paneer dishes as well. Its not a huge place but they manage quite well to prevent people from waiting for a long time. The hosts are courteous and friendly . The food is awesome - Lachko - 5/5 Masala Half fry-5/5 Surti Gotala - 4.9/5 Volcano Biryani -4.85/5 Most of the dishes is prepared with Butter Or Ghee. Overall awesome food and great experience !

Yelp
Eggmania is small with couple of tables. Our food took about 25 minutes. If you are a fan of eggs and Indian food then definitely give Eggmania a try. Eggs done any way from poached to scrambled are my favorite. Eggs done with Indian spices just took it to a whole different level. Everything I tried, from curries to deviled egg like dish, were really good. They will make any dish spicier if you like.

Yelp
Eggmania has to be one of my favorite takeout places in Jersey City. I highly recommend getting the Paneer Masala & Paneer Toofani sandwiches! The paneer is marinated well in both of the sandwiches and just elevates the dish from a regular grilled cheese with spices. The sandwiches are definitely smaller than expected for the price but the taste makes up for it. If delivery was an option I would be ordering from here on a weekly basis!! As a native of Jersey City I've seen many establishments come and go on Newark Avenue but Eggmania definitely has the recipe for success!

Yelp
If you don't care about what you're putting into your stomach and you do not care of eventually getting a heart disease you can come here. We ordered 3 curries from here yesterday (Anda Lahori, Maniac curry and Green Egg curry) and the amount of oil/butter and salt this restaurant uses is RIDICULOUS!! If Egg Mania was a country they would be part of OPEC. When we got our order, the containers were leaking oil. When we opened the containers you could see the heavier/ actual part of the curry had settled at the bottom leaving almost half an inch of oil to float at the top. It was the same with the other two. I poured the excess oil into another bowl because nobody should be putting that into their bodies. I have attached a screenshot and this was just the excess oil floating on top and what i could manage to pour out. The curries themselves were so salty and combined with the buttered bread they give with it, it is enough to make you sick. Egg Mania if you're reading this, Please stop trying to give your customers a heart disease and a reason to not order from you because all in all your food has potential and taste but if it's well being vs your food I think i'll choose the former.

Yelp
Worst customer service, no masks worn by any employees in the restaurants in this pandemic. The person working in the front was making sandwiches with no gloves while handling transactions with customers. Just because they gained popularity doesn't mean the can compromise quality of food and service !!
