The 24 Best Breakfast Spots In Chicago - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Though Eggs With Benefits is inside Loyola University’s Granada Center, 120 credit hours and an unflattering student ID aren’t a requirement to try their great breakfast sandwiches and rice bowls. This Rogers Park counter service spot is (obviously) all about eggs. They’re scrambled, topped with chives, and loaded into buttery brioche buns with crispy bacon or thinly sliced steak, or layered on top of Asian-inspired rice bowls with kimchi and Spam. Mornings and weekends can be busy, but most people order their food to-go from the touch-screen kiosks, so finding a seat is easy." - sam faye, adrian kane, john ringor, veda kilaru

I ordered the Japanese curry hash bowl and it was great! I was recommended the steak and eggs bowl, but I wanted to try something different and I was not disappointed. Huge portions and a friendly/speedy staff. What more could you ask for!

Google
An EXCELLENT new lunch spot. Sparkling clean, food prepared to order, kind employees who seem to take pride in their service. Value is solid, portions are generous, and proportions are what they should be—just the right amount of everything. The egg salad sandwich didn’t survive long enough for a photo.

Awesome place for a quick bit to eat. Brunch with an Asian twist. The staff is awesome and the food was amazing. Solid price to food ratio. I recommend the curry bowl, add some steak and it’s perfect. Definitely coming back and would recommend.

Egg sandwiches are great. Also cheaper than any of the other breakfast places in Evanston. I would highly recommend anybody to get a sandwich from here.

We work at 1717 Evanston. This is a luxury apartment building in Evanston. We had Eggs with Benefits bring 30 sandwiches, coffee, and OJ to our building for the resident's new years eve breakfast. They were right on time with delivery and our residents loved them. We emailed them the a day before and they took care of the rest. This is a quick, easy, and inexpensive way to have a breakfast/brunch party. Thank you Eggs with Benefits. We will call again.

By far, the soft egg and cheese breakfast sandwich is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. Very tasty and well seasoned. My delivery order was so well put together and the presentation was so nice. I highly recommend this breakfast spot.

Great small menu with expertly cooked eggs. Food is excellent but service is a stand out.

Yelp
We were not going to eat out unless we noted something different on our recent trip to Evanston. The name caught our eyes, but then we spoke to Ricardo, who enthusiastically shared the story of the business and the special way they carmelize the onions... The "special sauce" of their Sandwhiches. I could have left 5 stars for the personality and service, but the food merits it on its own. They have blended some different flavors and ideas to the basics without making the choices overwhelming. And, the service was amazing. It was Ricardo who noticed I received the wrong thing and immediately prepared another meal for me, insisting on including the meat when I said he did not have to include it in the redo. Thank you for making our lunch an experience.

Yelp
We were in the area and I was perusing through the "hot and new" section on Yelp and happened across Eggs with Benefits. There's a kiosk inside to order and about ~10 tables inside. My child had the soft scramble sando (soft scrambled eggs, cheese, onion jam, garlic mayo, chives, brioche bun) while hubby and I both had the steak and egg sando (ribeye steak, cage free soft scrambled eggs, onion jam, cheese, garlic mayo, chives, brioche bun). Although it was a bit messy and my sando kept falling apart, the ingredients worked well together and I enjoyed it overall. I wish that there was an option for toast instead of the brioche bun like other establishments since I love the crispy texture. My child also exclaimed that it was the "best lunch ever." Overall, this was a win and we'll be back for more!

Yelp
They have soft scrambled egg sandos with a variety of proteins that can be added. I ordered the steak and egg sando while my husband tried the Slagel sausage, as recommend by the staff. I thought the steak tasted better than the sausage. The dumplings are very tasty and come with a delicious sauce. The hashbrown was okay; I could've done without it. They don't really have anything spicy on the menu but they do have a yummy hot sauce at their condiment station!

Yelp
Came here for brunch and got the rice dish; thought the food was good but a little too salty for my liking! I liked how it is Korean fusion egg dishes. I'll definitely come give this place a try again but get the egg sandwiches!

Yelp
I had the steak and egg sandwich, and it was amazing. Really rich and decadent for a breakfast, but I'm definitely taking anyone who loves an egg sandwich!

Yelp
Delicious food and a creative blend of spices. The person who served us, Ricardo, was very hospitable. After getting one of our orders slightly incorrect, he offered us a free entree without our even asking. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Any sando is phenomenal, just know the eggs will be soft and wet when ordered as-is, which I love so perfection! The Japanese curry bowl and steak egg bowl are also fantastic.

Yelp
I swung by Eggs With Benefits a second time and once again it delivered the goods. After having tried a sandwich first, I opted to get the curry bowl and it was extremely delicious. The curry flavor was fantastic and greatly complimented the eggs and rice that accompanied it. Overall this place is great and the value is very good.

Yelp
Not too bad, not too good. Not sure if this is the whole purpose, but everything was disposable which I personally am not a huge fan of. I was dining in once and take away another time. Dining in, the bowl was single use and same with the drinking cups and utensils. The food was pretty middle of the road. The bowl was alright but honestly not that special. The breakfast sandwich i had (bacon and egg) was not my favorite breakfast sandwich. I think it was bottom of the list for me. The eggs are super soft which is fine, but had no flavor except some green onion. It seems Eggs with Benefits at least takes some inspiration from Asian cuisine with the Japanese curry and the fluffy egg sandwich. They had a lot of Korean drink options in the fridge as well. But adding green onions to eggs doesn't make it more Asian. I'm left underwhelmed by the food and have multiple other places in Evanston I'd prefer for a breakfast sandwich than here. The atmosphere inside is also not great, maybe they're still waiting on decorations and lights to arrive but it's really bleak and dim inside which is not captured well through my picture.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! Best breakfast sandwich in Evanston. All bowls and sandwiches we've had have all been delicious. The service is great and it's a laid back vibe. We love bringing our toddler here - she eats their food and the place feels family friendly. One of our favorite spots!

Yelp
I took advantage of a special Eggs with Benefits was hosting that was BOGO egg sando. I had been wanting to try this spot for a hot minute since they opened and I finally had a great excuse. I am so pleased, this was the best egg sandwich (or two) I think I've ever had. The flavors together and the quantity of egg to bun ratio was perfect! Great breakfast food is sometimes hard to come by, I was so happy with this meal that I couldn't wait to write a review! I can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu -- thank you for coming to Evanston!

Yelp
I was walking past and realized I was hungry. This was the first day the restaurant was open. I was greeted by the owner, a very kind and enthusiastic young man. I had a delicious coffee and a scrambled egg sandwich on a bun. Really tasty! I should have taken a photo before I ate, but this is what was left!

Yelp
Great addition to Evanston brunch options! Food is excellent and made with love, as the chef behind the counter proudly told me. It's a unique Asian fusion menu and self serve counter service. Give it a try.

Yelp
Good portion size and nice and hot and it was ready when i arrived . It wasn't very expensive

Yelp
If you haven't already, check out Eggs w/Benefits! It's soooo good! The Davis location is my favorite spot for a breakfast sandwich or bowl. Also, the customer service is top tier!

Yelp
The JAPANESE CURRY HASH BOWL was so good! Can't wait to make my way through the menu.

Yelp
Great egg sandwich (got the one with bacon) and it comes with hash. Really great and fast service.
