Great breakfast and brunch spot with marvelous concoctions. Try the eggs Benedict with pulled pork. Amazing. My wife and I walked a mile to get here, twice, in a snowstorm. Go yourself! You will be glad you did!

This spot is a fun and welcoming place for breakfast and brunch. The menu has plenty of classic choices, from hearty omelets to sweet options, and everything comes out fresh and filling. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the casual vibe makes it easy to relax. It’s a dependable choice when you’re craving a satisfying start to the day.

For a place that is called Eggy’s, why serve fake eggs… that was very disgusting. The bacon wasn’t crispy just chewy. The oily thing that was good was the apple pecan waffle. Would not recommend coming to this place.

We called ahead to check if the pancakes had dairy in them. We got a quick and confident answer of "no they do not." Everything was delicious, including the pancakes. I'm typically disappointed by pancakes served at diners, but this was not the case. Our server was the same one who answered the phone and was great. Sorry I can't remember your name! I almost forgot about the strawberry smoothie (also dairy free) which was the bomb! Worth it for the smoothie alone. Add pancakes to that?? 🤌

This is a great breakfast/lunch spot. We got a table right away on a Monday and got the Al pastor skillet and French toast and pancakes which were delicious. Came out pretty quickly but was fresh and hot. They play classic country music and the atmosphere is super relaxed. 10\10!

Eggy’s Diner, amazing experience! Great service and definitely worth the visit. The only downside is that if you’re not familiar with the area it can be a bit tricky to find, but just head down the main avenue, look for the sign, and take the elevator down. Highly recommended!

I would describe my meal here as diner quality food, that had been prepared at a higher level. The pulled pork Benedict was good, and the portion size was large, but I don’t know if it was worth the $18 I paid for it.

What a great find. Popped in here for lunch and enjoyed it very much. The grilled chicken sandwich had a great spicy sauce. BLT sandwich was good, but should be made with iceberg lettuce, not field greens. My Tortilla soup was great. Excellent French fries. Broad menu of breakfast and typical diner food. Isaac was a great server.

This joint is tucked tight below the skyscrapers and next to Mariano's Market. And it's a great place for breakfast. Big mugs for coffee and tea already set on the table. Big menu with some Mexican influenced items. Easy menu to read with highlighted specialties. Al pastor skillet served quickly. Nice skillet, reasonable portion. Potatoes can tend to either get dense and chewy or wet and soppy. Not here. Just fluffy yet firm potatoes in this skillet dish. Pancake on the side. I'm holding the fifth star due to syrup. Eggy's gives top notch food and service, but the syrup is industrial pancake syrup. A true maple syrup, or at least something a little more delicate would have put the exclamation point on my breakfast. Terrific place for a breakfast.

We had breakfast here on Thursday morning during our trip and the place was almost empty! Homey and warm place with gorgeous views outside. Staff here were friendly, quick and efficient with their service. White mocha latte - Yum! Perfect balance of sweet and bitter without one overpowering. The drink was super creamy and tasty. Avocado toast - Too much arugula in this but the overall taste was really delicious. We appreciated how they served fruit as a side. Biscuit and gravy with scrambled eggs - Scrambled eggs were bland. Biscuit was more like having a donut - fluffy and soft to eat. It was a satisfying dish to have overall for breakfast.

We found Eggy's while looking for breakfast places within walking distance to our hotel. The place is very nice and it wasn't too busy on a rainy Sunday morning. Our party of 2 was seated right away and our waitress brought over some water and took our drink orders. I went with the fried chicken and biscuits while my dining partner went with the American skillet. The food came out pretty quickly and it was all solid. I tried the breakfast potatoes first and they were seasoned perfectly and cooked well. They had some bite to them but they weren't hard. They were seasoned pretty simply but they tasted great. The fried chicken was fried very well; the outside was almost crispy while the interior stayed juicy. I love sausage gravy and Eggy's is solid; delicious when slathered over the fried chicken and biscuits. The overeasy eggs on top added even more to the textures and flavors. The biscuits were the lowlight of the meal but they were still decent. One of them was a little overdone so it was super dry while the other was softer. A little inconsistent but they were both tasty. I enjoyed their coffee and my girlfriend seemed to enjoy her matcha latte and American skillet. All-in-all, a solid breakfast spot.

We went twice while we were visiting Chicago. The food was good- flavorful and warm. The service was timely and the servers were attentive and nice. It's a bit busy in there and you may end up sitting very close to other people, but I appreciated them trying to reduce wait times.

We came here on a Sunday morning and unfortunately the line was too long for us to dine in so we decided to order for take out and enjoy the nice weather right outside in Lakeshore East park. I ordered the chilaquiles which were 4.5/5 in terms of taste but I was a little disappointed by portion size especially for the price point paid. Otherwise, the service was fast and friendly. They were able to get our order packaged and ready for takeout within 20 minutes which was awesome considering how busy their restaurant was at the time. I would definitely still come back to try other things on the menu

good brunch food but not worth the wait to get seated or the wait to get food. on a sunday morning, the wait was obnoxiously long and once we ordered, it also took awhile to receive our food. we ordered a smoothie in addition to our order and the staff forgot about it for so long that we just cancelled the order. in terms of food, it's solid but not anything particularly special. the chicken tortilla soup was delectable and the chorizo eggs benedict was a nice combo. but the panini was pretty normal. the interior has diner vibes, it's very casual.

I dined at Eggy's 3 times during a recent stay in Chicago and would absolutely recommend it 10,000x over. Don't be worried about long lines since the tables turn fast, and if you're in a rush I can attest that a takeout order was ready in less than the 5 min walk I took to the restaurant! The first time we dined we were seated right away and served iced tea and water within a minute or two, which was great. I got an omelette with toast and potato, all were fantastic. The second time I dined I got the same order, no complaints and everything went super smooth. I was in a bit of a rush and I was in and out in I'd say less than 30 mins total! My last order was a "to go" one where I tried 2 eggs over medium with ham, toast and potatoes. Although the ham had some fatty parts everything was cooked amazingly and was super fresh. I can't believe my order was ready in only 5 minutes. The staff is all friendly and professional and very quick. This place seems like a fine tuned machine. I will be sure to stop here next time I am in Chicago.

Obsessed! Eggy's is phenomenal, delicious food, fast service, large portions, and super affordable. Perfect spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Always hits the spot!

Went here for a weekday brunch and it was pretty crowded. Service was quick. Menu was huge with large diner menu of pancakes, skillets and many more I got the skillet and soup. I am glad that i found something vegetarian in the menu even though it was egg based. Its a bit more on the pricey side for a diner. Ambiance was bright and service was decent

My foXXXy wife brought me here and this place is EGG-cellent! The Chilaquiles are the BOMB.

I used to be a regular decades ago when I worked nearby at Tower Ambulance and was in and out of Edgewater Hospital. Edgewater was a true community hospital, and Eggy's was a friendly, wonderful hospital cafeteria. The original owner served up comforting breakfast and coffee to hardworking medical workers and distraught patients' family and friends and helped heal our hearts. One of my favorite memories of those younger days was having breakfast at Eggy's. One of my deep regrets at aging is that I cannot eat like that every morning. Some of my favorite dishes are on the menu at this upscale much more expensive 21st Century version, but the decor and location are certainly more posh. Actually compared to the rest of the immediate area, the food is a relatively good deal here. It's perfect if you're staying at the Sofitel or otherwise nearby. Sadly, none of the workers seem to know anything about the original owner even though there's a article about him on the wall (young people don't read I guess).

This place was a hot commodity when we went in, it was a long wait so we sat at the bar for quicker service. I got chicken and waffles, it was just ok. The chicken quality and prep wasn't flavorful or well cooked to me. The waffle was a little hard, but with some butter it was ok. My friend got the French toast, she didn't finish it because the toppings were overwhelming. Potatoes were a little bland. The staff were kind and accommodating.

Went on a Sunday with family after church. The food is delicious and well seasoned. I had the patty melt and sweet potato fries, my sister had the bagel and lox, my brother in law had a crepe with berries, my niece had French toast with Nutella, my nephew had crepes. Everyone cleaned their plate. I also had an espresso martini and my sister had a dragon fruit margarita. I've had better espresso martinis, my sister loved her margarita. The wait staff was very patient and helpful, we had 4 kids under 10. The vibe was family friendly but also many adults having brunch. I'll be back to try more menu items.

This spot was super close to my hotel, so I figured why not grab a bite for a late lunch after my early flight and a quick nap. The staff was very friendly and they seem to provide unlimited coffee, which was exactly what I needed after that red-eye flight. I went for the green egg and ham dish and it was super soft, almost like oatmeal. But it was way too salty for my taste and the bill ended up being pretty pricey, coming from someone who lives in sf. Overall, the vibe was cool and the staff was super friendly, but the food didn't quite hit the spot for me :(

Sunday brunch!!! The restaurant itself was a little difficult to find but once we found it, we hit a jackpot. The restaurant is a cute, trendy spot with fun signs around. All the savory dishes (skillet, black bean burger, veggie panini) were incredible! The fries are shoestring cut, crispy, and very yummy. The chicken and waffles dish was huge. Could be shared if you have a smaller appetite. (It's a whole half of a chicken.) The crepes were just alright. They weren't thin enough and there wasn't enough nutella on it for my liking. The service was very quick and responsive. I will definitely be visiting again!

This is the first time I've returned since the pandemic and man did I miss them! The quality of their food has always been good no matter what you order. My go to is the chicken and waffles and the chicken is seasoned amazingly well and when combined with the syrup it's one of the best chicken and waffles I've tried. I also love their omelette and crab cakes. They also have seasonal menu such as cinnamon roll croffin and pumpkin flavored pancake and coffee which I didn't get to try but would love to return and try it before they're gone. Their fresh squeezed orange juice was amazing and fresh. Coffee was delicious since they use colectivo. Overall I've always had amazing food here and I refer everyone I know to try here at least once when they're in Chicago!

Cute little place and no wait on a Saturday AM! The atmosphere is good as they have big windows and fun decor on the walls. Our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. My veggie skillet was delicious: I got it with feta instead and got a side of tzatziki: I recommend! All our eggs were perfectly cooked :) only complaint would be the toast is very basic and plain but I would come again :) Side Pancake: nice and fluffy, filling, crunchy bacon and chewy : 8.5/10 review by my little sister

This place is okay. It will do for breakfast if you need a spot to grab a decent meal in the morning. Rating due to the blatant lie from the server stating that the pictured avocado was a 'whole avocado'. For an extra $4.50 additional charge this is a rip off.

The service was exceptional, and the food was delicious! We had the chilaquiles and standard pancake, eggs and bacon breakfast. Loved it!

This place is packed on the weekends, and for good reason. My friend and I both got sandwiches, which actually came with soup, too. The sandwiches weren't anything too special, but the portions were generous. The staff were accommodating and super nice, but we still had to ask for basic items like cutlery and water since they were busy and running around. If you're going to eat here on the weekends, be prepared to sit close to other parties, as the space is pretty tight.

The service was super quick and kind! Our waitress was attentive and we got sat right away. All of our food was delicious and well priced. Would definitely come here again.

Food: the omelette are very special, especially doesn't have the fishy smells. The flavor of Chicken & waffle is good, but the fried chicken was too dry. Service: the staff might be too tired, so wasn't listen to us very carefully when we trying to order something, and directly ordered the one he recommended... and end up brought the wrong dish, and tell us they don't have what we ordered. Good thing is they took back the wrong order and didn't charge on the menu. We are not sure if it was because they are "too busy?", we tried to talk to three stuffs who passing by, no one willing to response, including our server, finally all of us raise our voice and someone came to help us check. End up my friend not really like their service.... Ambiance: I like the vibe they trying to show to the customers. But there's an important thing, the menu has no pics, when we are willing to yelp, there's no reception at all... finally Mariano's WiFi saved us.

Solid enough option for breakfast or lunch in Lakeshore East. I wish they were open for dinner though. I like the Eggys combo and the french toast.

Very cool, chill local area diner vibes. I've been here multiple times. The staff is sweet and attentive. Huge menu options to select from. I swung by for a quick lunch this time and ordered Chicken Pita. It's served with tortilla chicken soup and fries. I find the food here to be super comforting, tasty and comes in huge quantity. Tip: If you live in one of Magellan managed buildings in the area, you get 10% discount on the bill here.

My friends and I (party of 4) stopped in for Brunch during St.Pattys Day weekend. Despite th crowd our waiter went above and beyond to make our dining experience at Eggys unforgettable. The prices and portion sizes are perfect. THE FOOD was even better!! I will be returning!

With my nickname being Little Eggy, I HAD to try out Eggy's. After a long morning of sightseeing, my boyfriend and I dropped in for some brunch. The Bloody Mary was the perfect spice/flavor ratio and had a generous pour. I had the Eggy's Benedict- every bite was well-rounded with the savory pulled pork and sweetness from the waffle. The potatoes and side of bacon were fresh and crisp. My boyfriend demolished the Irish hash but his only qualm was that the carrots were a little bland/undercooked compared to the rest of the dish. The vibe of the diner was extremely cozy and welcoming! And just outside was a dog park, super cute.

One of the best diners I've ever been to, and I grew up in New Jersey! Came here for some breakfast as we were in town for a wedding. I loved the vibe inside right away. It felt very cozy and comfortable, and Chicago people seem super friendly as our neighboring tables both said good morning to us (which never happens in NYC). I love that Eggy's lets you get both eggs and pancakes at once so you don't have to choose. I opted for a Denver omelette plus a chocolate chip pancake. Both were great but the unexpected stars of the show were those incredible potatoes! Honestly better than hash browns or most home fries I've ever had. Service was super chill too and let us make substitutions as we wanted, and served everything fast. Overall, superb place and definitely one I'll recommend to anyone visiting Chicago and staying in the west loop / bean area.

Eggy's On a cloudy Sunday early afternoon, it was so busy that me and my wonderful peers waited 45-minutes to be seated. They will take your name and text you when your table is ready. In the meantime, you can walk around the park, sit in the park, or even play candy crush next to a tree. The place is in a cute, quiet residential area. Interior was very modern and reminded me of a cute bakery. Space could be tight, so make sure to respect those sitting near you. Service was fast and efficient! As for food, I ordered the Eggy's Benedict (Mini Belgian waffles topped with maple glazed pulled pork, 2 poached eggs, and house-made hollandaise sauce), it was savory BUT had a hint of sweetness. The breakfast potatoes were great and fried! Overall, I would recommend this place and eat here again!!

Great food with a way too large menu. Seems like they are never crowded probably because they are off the beaten path. Great for a breakfast or early lunch treat.

On our first morning in Chicago we were starving and had a long day ahead of us. We were able to walk to Eggys from our hotel and based on the great reviews we thought it was a good place to start. A little hard to find (mostly due to the maps not understanding the sidewalk trails in this part of town, no fault of the restaurant) but worth it. Once inside it's a cute place and fairly quick service (quick but not so much so you feel rushed) and amazing food. Even the coffee was good! We knew we were on the right path when we walked in, you could tell from the great smells. We both had different Benedict's and both were so good. Perfectly poached eggs and great sauce. Potatoes that were the ideal amount of crunchy, soft and salty. Perfect. And great portions, not so much you feel like you're paying for something you cannot possibly eat but definitely not small either!

Came here for breakfast and tried their omelet, side pancake, breakfast potatoes (chunks of fried potatoes), sausage biscuit and cruffin. Everything was tasty and the portions were quite large. The cruffin was very good, we had not had one before and I would recommend trying it (basically a cinnamon roll but made with croissant dough in the shape of a muffin topped with frosting). The coffee was pretty decent and the service was good. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has a pretty large menu.

An updated review of Eggy's is much needed after my most recent review. Since my last review, years ago, Eggy's is still going strong and seemed to have improved their food. Like always, Eggy's was jam packed but they have mastered the art of turning over tables and getting the crowds moving. My group was able to get a table rather quickly even with the restaurant being being. I don't believe you make a reservation so I would plan to wait a little bit but not the wait you would experience at one of the the places off Michigan or in the popular tourist places. Eggy's located next to the Mariano's right off of Randolph Ave. It is tucked away so you have to go to the lower level to reach the entrance. The food has greatly improved since I used to visit consistently before Covid. I ordered the Eggy's Burger which was massive and I automatically got two meals from the meal. It is a double patty with corned beef and an egg on top of it with a ton of fries but you have the option to swap out the fries. The burger was delicious and definitely my new go to order. I look forward to my next visit so I can try the strawberry mimosa. I will note that everyone at my table experienced cellphone signal issues so it was great to see that they offered complimentary wifi for guests.

First time ordering from this restaurant. Ordered online for carry out and it was ready as they said. A generous two egg sandwich with potatoes was delicious and juicy. Potatoes were crisp and flavorful. Would definitely order again!

It's not worth it, neither time nor money. On the second day of the Chicago Marathon, Medal Monday, we started our gourmet trip for hunting good foods. The hotel we stayed in is in the center of Chicago, CBD, with many celebrity restaurants. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel and were heading to Eggy's Egg directly. So many people hang the marathon medal walking on the street. We also took half hour by walking to Eggy's. It is an uphill walk, bypassing the famous Minghin Chinese Cuisine, we took the elevator down to another side of the road, where Eggy's locates. It's about 7-8 people waiting outside the restaurant, no one can exactly tell us to either walk in to register or just wait outside. People came and went, someone walked into the restaurant and walked back out of it. When two persons were out, two persons in the queue walked in. There is a middle room as the entrance. The door is so heavy and I had to help small women to pull the door when I was first in the queue. About 30 minutes waiting, outside, middle room, and in the restaurant. I took my watch and found 6 waiters/waitresses and one usher took care of about 20 tables. Most of the time, there were three to four tables with customers left and no one clean the tables. What a waste, dirty tables, waiting clients, looks busy waiters/waitresses, can't hide its bad management. I still can't believe how 7 people can deal with the service so badly. Eventually, we got our seats and the waiter got our coffee in a pot and two empty mugs. The coffee was good and hot, a little sour but not too strong, which I love. I had Crab Cake Benny, it's obviously the supermarket ring crab cake, you usually can get 6 pcs for 5 dollars. The hollandaise was so plain and boring. Coco had Fried Chicken & Biscuits, just so so, at least it wasn't worth $18.95. I tried her fried chicken, the breast, dry without any juice, the fried egg was the one my daughter can make when she was five years old. The fried potato was good, in wedge shape, crispy and soft. But that is the only good taste besides coffee in the restaurant, nothing else worth writing and remembering. The wifi was horrible nor was the phone signal, nothing could finish the online payment. I had to walk to the counter and pay the check.

I absolutely love the poutine! We will drive 40 minutes just to have breakfast here. Amazing food, and amazing drinks! A really great breakfast treat if you're looking to have an adventure!

I got the breakfast tacos which came with potatoes. Excellent breakfast tacos. The potatoes, which were baby potatoes/new potatoes, had great spices on them. Great experience. There was a little bit of a wait but well worth it. I wish I knew the recipe of the tacos, they were great!

We found this gem in a little nook of Chicago! I wanted to be sure and wrote a review because it's not a restaurant that you'll walk by and pop in. Make this an intentional visit because the food is phenomenal, the decor is clever and the service is terrific. I do like efficient restaurant staffs that watch the entire restaurant to turn it over quickly. But have no fear, you won't feel rushed! The food is interesting and unique and DELICIOUS. Our family got an Eggy eggs Benedict with pulled pork over a waffle, Florentine crepes and an egg burrito. Each of us were impressed and we even shared a few bites with each other. We'll be back!!

Came here for brunch on a weekday. The inside ambience was nice and bright. Loved the vibes. Since we came on a weekday it wasn't too busy, if anything, the service was just a little bit slow. We ordered the New York French Toast, Eggy's Combo, and Gyro Omelet. I Food was overall pretty good. The servings were huge! I got the french toast and I really enjoyed the blueberry compote. The banana cream inside the french toast was pretty good too, just a bit too much cream towards the center of the french toast. We also ordered orange juice and some coffee, which was overall decent! My friend didn't really like the orange juice.

Recently went here for lunch. We've lived in the neighborhood a year and I can't believe we slept on this place so long! I had a chicken pita and got so much food. The shining star for me was the milkshake I decided to get on the way out. I went with the chocolate PB and had them make it with chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla. Amazing! We'll be back for sure.

I looked this place up ahead of time due to its proximity to the hotel. It's a little hard to find because it's sort of buried within a maze of walkways and/or elevators, but it is well worth the adventure. It's a busy place for sure. My friend and I got lucky both times (yes we decided to go twice, it was that good) and were seated immediately, but virtually every seat will be taken if it's anytime before 11 or so. The first time I went I got the Puerco Picante Skillet: a delicious concoction of potatoes, peppers, onions, salsa, queso fresco, two eggs, and some amazing pulled pork that is to die for. My tolerance for spice is quite high, but even I was impressed with the spice level of this dish. (It didn't stop me from adding more Cholula) My friend thought his biscuits and gravy was good, but a lot of food and heavy. We planned to go to a different spot the next day, but insane queues out the door prompted us to leave and come back to Eggy's. I encouraged my friend to get the same skillet I got, but he went with a different variety. When I gave him a taste of the pulled pork, he expressed immediate regret. Yes. Not only did we go twice in consecutive days, I got the same dish twice. You may also request a side of Hollandaise, which goes great on the skillet. They may be slightly understaffed, so staff may take a while to get to you... but if you're not in a hurry, it's a great place to eat.

The restaurant was small, there is not much seating. The tables are very close to each other so if youre a sma party, you might be eating next to another small party, like "in the same table" type of vibe. The service was good, the waiter was nice and he made sure everything was okay a couple of times. The food was.... a hit or miss. We were a party of ten, which resulted in varied opinions on the food. I ordered the tuna sald sandwich and it was pretty good, i enjoyed it. The fries were the best fries i had tried in a while. Everyone was a fan of the fries. My friend that ate the chocolate chip waffles was in loveeeee, and the skillet was amazing too. The food that didnt hit the right way was the breakfast combo, the iced coffee, and, unfortunately, the chicken and waffles. The chicken was very veiny, which made it hard to enjoy. The waffle was yummy, but there was only one. The price of this place is on the higher end, with the most expensive plate being $20 (chicken and waffles) and the cheapest plate being $15.50 (tuna salad sandwich). Overall, it is a hit or miss. The ambiance and service was excellent but the food was... alright.
