Best Coffee in San Antonio | Eater Austin

"This coffee shop, which transitioned from a food truck to a storefront in early 2024, has an approachable, minimalist aesthetic. Keeping it simple but not basic, Eight Ball is a quick and easy stop for a midday pick-me-up in the form of an iced coffee with brewed beans from Creature Coffee out of Seattle and Austin. The shop slings all the coffee drinks one expects, including cortados, espressos, lattes, and matchas. The shop itself is also super simple, with white subway tiles, diner-style tables, and overhead lights shaped like clouds." - Polly Anna Rocha

Great little coffee shop in the Southtown area. Fantastic coffees, cool vibe on the inside, good service. Has a good bagel food truck outside as well. Great cold brew. Would recommend this place! Also amazing logo!

If you haven’t been to this coffee shop you’re missing out. They are known for their coco cajeta syrup which is delicious! My go to order is a vanilla latte half sweet or lavender matcha half sweet. The service is crazy fast. Sometimes my drink is out before I’ve even paid. There’s usually open seating on the weekdays to sit and work as well. I highly recommend checking them out 😊 my only note would be to add some baked goods or food menu items.

Pretty solid coffee shop. I ordered the cold brew with the homemade salted caramel syrup. The coffee was high quality and the syrup tasted great. Prices aren’t too bad.

Cold Brew from here was off the hook. Best in San Antonio no doubt. Be back soon. Very busy spot especially on the weekends. Cashiers were to the point and prompt and had the cold brew ready before I even paid despite being heavily crowded at the time I was there. I would highly recommend any local or out of town coffee fiends to try this place out.

Cute spot on the south side. It is just coffee. I took pic of menu. I love coffee. I personally make all kinds of fancy and non fancy coffees. I had the cappuccino with agave. It was very good.

Stopped by on the recommendation of a friend and am really glad I did. This no frills, just good coffee truck offers some great coffee and coffee drinks. The staff is cheerful and friendly. All drinks are made to order and are exceptional. I opted for a latte with a flavor shot of salted caramel and I gotta say it was one of the best I've had. It was perfectly balanced coffee with a more subtle caramel flavor not too sweet or overpowering. I'm always on the lookout for great coffee places and 8 Ball checks all the boxes. Support local and give them a try, you'll be back.

The place is nice a bit small but the coffee was on point. Service was a bit eh the guy seemed a bit rude when we were asking questions. Maybe its cause they were just super busy

I tried their matcha and it was absolutely delicious—very unique and different from any other matcha I’ve had. The drip coffee had a tangy flavor, perfect for those who enjoy acidity in their coffee. The cashier was wonderful and friendly, and the décor was beautiful and cozy. Overall, a great experience!

Yelp
Walking into Eightball Coffee, you're greeted by a cozy and uncomplicated charm that's becoming increasingly rare in coffee shops today. The first thing you'll notice is its simplicity, echoing the essence of what a coffee shop should be. However, a suggestion for the lovely folks at Eightball: a bit more signage outside could do wonders. It's a gem that more people need to discover easily. During my visit, I opted for something a bit unconventional - a lavender matcha with oat milk. To my surprise, the concoction didn't just delight; it mystified. There was an unexpected, yet wholly welcome, marshmallow essence to the flavor that made each sip a sweet revelation. It's not just a drink; it's a dessert, a comfort, and a new favorite all rolled into one. Though the menu at Eightball might be described as small, it's evident that each item is curated with precision and a commitment to quality. "Limited" here does not mean lacking; it means perfected. Each drink I've seen served is a testament to their dedication to their craft. The ambiance further elevates the experience. The smooth, cool music enveloping the space creates a relaxed, boyfriend vibes atmosphere that's just as suited for leisurely hangouts as it is for focused work sessions. Eightball Coffee strikes the perfect balance between a chill hangout spot and a productive workspace. In essence, Eightball Coffee is more than just a coffee shop. It's a sanctuary for those who appreciate the finer points of coffee-making and those looking for a sweet escape in the middle of their day. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it's a spot that beckons for a visit. And for me, it's definitely a place I'll return to, eager to sip on that mysteriously delightful lavender matcha once again.

Yelp
This coffee spot is where it's at! They started as a coffee truck down the block and they are the friendliest people around. Their coffee is divine and they have signature flavors for lattes: Coco Cajeta and Lavender are my favorites. The Coco Cajeta tastes just like a Samoa Girl's Scout Cookie! They have whole, hemp and oat milk. Matcha is also on the menu. You must check them out. The ambiance is chill. Perfect place to hang out and catch up with a friend or do some work. They have WiFi and a good amount of seating. They also got a bomb playlist playing in the background: think Thee Sacred Souls and Mac DeMarco. Parking: they have a mini parking lot and it's a little tricky because you have to come up Florida street which is a one way. It's also pretty walkable/bike-able if you're in the Southtown neighborhood. Enjoy!!

Yelp
I have a new puppy who's 5 months old and I've been taking him around to different dog friendly places to socialize. I'll say Eightball is one of the favorite ones we've been to so far. Super simple interior. And the staff was very friendly they gave my pup a treat and even wrote his name on the coffee I love those little thoughts, they mean a lot. Coffee wise, I'm no connoisseur but i enjoyed my matcha very much.

Yelp
Eightball coffee is located in Southtown and just converted from a coffee truck to a brick and mortar shop. The location is small but they have approximately 10 seats inside and a few benches outside. They have a small menu but it packs a punch. I usually get an iced vanilla latte and it's nothing short of great. The guys that helped me out were nice both times I've been. I'll be back. Peace. Latte with whole milk was $6.28.

Yelp
Hands down the best coffee shop in San Antonio. Outstanding espresso - iced americano is my go to. Also incredible iced matcha lattes with either lavender or vanilla syrup. The owners are super cool guys and the shop itself has a great vibe. Highly recommend!! Our dog approves too

Yelp
Cappuccino was great. Ambiance is cool. Small place doing only a few things but doing it right.

Yelp
Decor is cute! But drip coffee w/no refills was $5, pretty pricey in my opinion. Cortado price was fine but it was served in a big latte mug :/ I wish the menu had the prices. Willing to give them another shot in the future & adjust the rating accordingly.

Yelp
Favorite coffee in San Antonio! Specifically their espresso drinks including latte and iced americano. Warm ambiance, great people, we love going here.
