"There’s a new Hong Kong-style cafe in Chinatown. Eight Treasures is a casual, self-service spot with a long menu of Cantonese dishes, including noodle bowls, five types of congee, and beef brisket rice plates." - john ringor, veda kilaru, nick allen

Went here for the first time with a couple of friends which recommended us to try and we were extremely impressed. Upon getting to the restaurant we were kindly greeted and took a seat. We went ahead and ordered a couple items from the menu to give them a try and were blow away by the flavor! The food melted in your mouth and left you craving more. Highly recommend you stop by and give it a try. This is my new favorite go to spot.

I like that parking is easy. There's a free parking garage in the same building but it's dark and spaces are tight. I like that the restaurant appears clean, bright and employees are young and friendly. This is not full service so you order at the kiosk or at the counter and they bring the food out to your table which leaves me wondering how much to tip. The food is mediocre. It's the kind of quality Chinese food you might find in the suburbs but NOT in or near Chinatown. Their wonton noodle is not up to par. Definitely not a place that specializes in wonton noodle, very flat, no "bounce". The beef briskets are very chewy, you would think they know to cut those into smaller bite size pieces but nope. We tried a number of dishes but none of them are particularly good. Sorry they don't have free water, it's $2 for a bottle of Signature Select from Jewel. I would not go back.

Google
We ordered a brisket noodle soup, cucumber, and curry brisket over rice. Everything was so flavorful! I ordered two orders of the cucumber salad. It’s a fast food restaurant concept- you order at the kiosk and wait for your order to be called. They have lunch specials that come with a drink for a good price. Parking lot is a plus with not having to worry about parking.

Google
Guys this is my new go to restaurant. The quality of food is excellent for the price. Think Seven Treasures but it comes with one additional treasure! Amazing food at amazing prices. Food came out super quick. Honestly this place should be packed every night. Highly recommend.

Google
not sure why all the hate, our noodles & rice rolls were great and the service even better. don’t know why it was empty at prime dinner time on a sunday.. usually never leave reviews but felt compelled to defend this place & show it some love

Google
Overall, a decent clean wonton noodle soup. The wonton itself might be better than seven treasures. Noodle is bouncy. I was hoping the broth would be closer to seven treasure.

Try the stir-fried noodles with beef and curry beef brisket! Very tasty! They’re very good service I’ll definitely come back.

Returned for the second time, and they were a little busier than usual. The rice dishes were just as good, but the noodles were soggy… the beef brisket was super chewy. Looks like they are not that good at managing crowds yet. Milk tea is still not good. ——— Great spot. Easy and clean! The wonton noodle soup was good! Only complaint is I wish it had more shrimp/less pork, but the wrapper is perfect! The salt and pepper pork chop was very good! Milk tea was meh. They need to work on that. I was a bit torn between a 4 vs 5 stars, but for this category, there’s not a lot of great places. The value was also great 👍🏼

Yelp
Highly recommend! We are at this restaurant while visiting Chicago this week. Food: We ordered the five spice duck, BBQ duck, and roast pork fried rice. Everything was absolutely delicious. The lunch portion was perfect, and it included a drink. Service: The staff were excellent and friendly. Our server answered all our questions with ease, and the food came out super quick. Ambiance: The interior is beautifully decorated. Modern and clean. If you need to use the restroom, you have to ask for the code. Parking: You can either park on the street, or in the parking garage. The parking garage does have limited spots, and you enter the restaurant from the back. Note, when trying to exit from the parking garage, visibility is blocked from cars parked on the street.

Yelp
I would give them 3.5 stars. We came here on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't too busy. You can order your food at a kiosk machine or by the register. They have lunch special for one entree and a drink for $9.99 from 11 am to 3 pm. Which I think is a good deal. We ordered a wonton noodles soup and beef brisket with rice. The free drinks include milk tea, lemon tea, water, or soda. We got the milk tea. Everything is self-service and you don't have to pay tips which is a pro. There is a table on the side where you can get utensils and bowls. Parking is free which is good. The staff was friendly and nice. The restaurant inside was pretty clean. There are plenty of tables to dine inside. The food that I ordered was ok. I was excited to try their wonton noodle soup since Seven Treasure closed. The noodles were ok. I wished the wonton would have more shrimp than pork. The milk tea lacked tea flavor. The beef brisket was pretty flavorful. Since this place is new, I might go back again to try their other rice dishes since their lunch special is a good deal.

Yelp
Egg rolls could use more flavor. I dumped sweet & sour on mine before each bite. Cucumbers were too spicy. Noodles' soups were good... not fantastic! The drinks list is only Sprite, Coke, Diet Coke & bottled water. Self-serve the dishes, silverware & sauces. Staff was extremely polite. Food & drinks are served by the staff. Lighting is bright enough to see the food. Music is low enough to have great conversation. The free parking lot has 2 floors. Also, street parking is free on Archer.

Yelp
Don't listen to the bad reviews. We got the BBQ Duck, Beef Fried Noodles, Shrimp Fried Rice and the Beef Brisket Plate and they were all good. Portions weren't huge but not too small either. The regular size is good enough for family style. Some of the meat dishes didn't have much meat and a little heavy on the rice, but I'm not complaining for the price. The BBQ Duck was a tad salty but it was flavorful and delicious. There are bones in the Duck but you just have to chew it. The beef brisket was SO TENDER. The fried noodles and fried rice didn't have much wok hay (iykyk), but not too bad for the price. It's mostly self serve, so you don't have to tip, but they also don't serve any water. Bottled water is $2, just so you're aware

Yelp
Got a chance to check out this new noodle place in Chinatown. The duck and brisket egg noodles were delicious. We also ordered fish congee and smashed chili garlic cucumbers and those were a hit too. The price is very affordable and service was good. The place is clean too so that a big plus in my book.

Yelp
My partner and I came here with my dad on Saturday for brunch. They have QR codes at the table for you to view the menu and place the order there, or you can order at the counter or at one of their kiosks. The guy behind the counter is friendly. It is a self service type of restaurant. They have a table to side where you can grab chopsticks, plates, sauces, etc. Their lunch special is probably my favorite for just $9.99. The portion is a bit smaller than their regular price dishes. I had the Xiamen rice noodles which were delicious. My dad had their wonton noodle soup and a plate of beef chow fun. My partner tried their salty karao fish rice plate and the Yangzhou fried rice. The salty karao fish wasn't salty at all. Their menu is pretty small compared to other restaurants. It's kind of like a canteen style, with a curated menu, and you can pick between traditional or American Chinese dishes. I'd come back again and would recommend it to anyone in the area. They also have free parking on premise that's shared with other businesses in the plaza.

Yelp
I'll start with this, not a Seven Treasures clone. Similar but not the same. If you want the Seven Treasures clone head north about 40 minutes. Now on to the experience. Nice, clean and efficient place located on Archer at street level, free parking on the street. We ordered three noodle soup bowls and a rice dish and some chicken wings as an appetizer for two adults and two kids. The bowls were very generous portions with a lighter broth. Wontons are similar in taste and texture as the old 7T ones. A little smaller on the protein though. So they use the kiosk system or QR code is how you order. Cashless system. You select the base then the add-ons. Each custom bowl was around $14 which wasn't bad definitely not the old 7T dive prices. But it's 2024 post pandemic. So not a price gouge by any means. The flavors were good. Just not loaded up with the secret ingredient.

Yelp
Clean restaurant with kiosks to order food. Kiosks languages are Chinese and English. Restaurant is return of 7 treasures. Went for Won Ton Noodle soup. Found strong flavored soup which typical of Hong Kong soups leaned toward the shrimp side. The picture does not represent the amount of noodles. We ordered egg noodle soup with Won Ton and Brisket and char siu. Noodles were as they should. Firm and thin. Won ton were meaty and full of shrimp. Found only 5 won ton. Soup contained bok Choi cabbage. Char siu was good but a little sparse. Beef was tender and connective tissue soft and had a good chew. For a good bowl of won Ton Noodle soup this place is recommended. This is also good For a lunch stop or a quick dinner. The menu however is not very broad and not really structured for a family or shared meal.

Yelp
Food is amazing! So tasty! Specially fried rice! Friendly service. Parking lot is next to the restaurant so no need to worry about parking. Definitely coming back !

Susan C.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, clean, good service and parking! Got the lunch special - fish congee/jook with unsweetened lemon ice tea for $10. A great deal and especially enjoyed the congee... silky texture, very tasty and high ratio of fish to porridge!

Susan L.

Yelp
This restaurant needs a lot of improvement. The rice is several days old. The beef brisket noodle soup was huge but it was not braised to tender. The bbq pork with egg did not have any honey glaze. The milk teas though big is size was bland. The cooking is very amateur.

John ..

Yelp
Been on the lookout for a 7 treasure replacement since they closed down. Saw this pop up the other day and thought I'd give them a shot. They are new so I'm cutting them some slack. Soup base is pretty authentic. Wontons are okay. Different style than standard Cantonese. Noodles was a little on the thinner side. Net net I'll come back. I think they have a good shot at becoming my new go to for wonton noodle. Edit - I can't be sure but the cook looks like the auntie from 7 treasures that use to man the kitchen upfront. If would explain why the soup base and hot oil are pretty dead on

Yelp
This place is clean and bright (after renovation from past several owners). Price is super reasonable and food is delicious. I'd say it's pretty authentic Cantonese (HK) dishes. Have been here several times for lunch and dinner already. Will continue to visit for sure!

Stanley L.

Yelp
So tasty, highly recommended. They just opened not too long, lots of good Cantonese dish options.

Celia P.

Yelp
Just because it's a Chinese restaurant doesn't make the food authentic. Simply said, food would be considered as amazing if you're unfamiliar with how it's supposed be or taste. But if you are familiar, then...you will either have mixed emotions or be like me...with two stars. In other words, it's the quality of the food. It's not "Chinatown quality." Google reviews are much different than Yelp so I'd suggest you look at both. And for all the true Seven Treasures fans....this is not the younger brother.

William T.

Yelp
Wonton noodle soup is close to seven treasures. The wonton themselves might actually be better. Also tried their bbq meat which was very good and reasonably priced.

H D.

Yelp
Bad customer service. Doesn't answer your questions. Just totally ignored. Curry beef brisket rice doesn't even taste like curry. You can see that they just add chilly oil to it and call it curry. You can see the red oil. It tasted really bad! Go to My Place instead for breakfast and lunch deals since it comes with a drink. Avoid this place at all cost. Dine at your own risk.

Karl K.

Yelp
Been here three times now and the restaurant has improved each time, both food and service. You can use the kiosk, but I prefer table service, which was excellent. Owner and server are super friendly and attentive. We had the wonton noodle soup and it's flavorful. Went for the lunch special this last time and I'm giving the brisket 5 stars and the kung pao chicken 4.5 stars. Value/prices at this place are incredible, esp for lunch. Egg rolls lack character and is missing peanut butter and that's about the only negative press. If they can amp up the wonton soup a little and stay consistent with quality brisket, this will be the new go-to. Credit to this joint for evolving, serving to old-school patrons and new, which is really hard to do in Chinatown.

Yelp
This restaurant is located in Sky River Mall very close to Chinatown Square. They have free parking and very convenient. Inside the restaurant you can order by a kiosk or pay cash in front. The best thing is they do not ask for tips. Unlike all business now a day they expect tips from you for doing nothing. Food is hit and miss but they just opened and need some time to improve. Noodles are decent and cost is very inexpensive. The congee so far is the best dish. It taste just like it's made in Hong Kong. Very silky and smooth and not liquidy. It's a comfortable restaurant to eat in and I think it will onky get better. I will try again in a month and see if I am right.
