Eightfold Coffee

A great little coffee shop addition to the Arts District in Los Angeles that’s really cozy. It’s small but they have a little bit of everything to get you going. I ordered a Cortado and it was everything I expected. I also had their Orange Espresso Tonic which delivered the flavor I wanted and the buzz I needed. My partner went with the seasonal drink which was a strawberry latte which was well balanced with flavor and the espresso needed to get going. The service was pretty good and even though the seating is limited inside the outside space is really nice and chill. Atmosphere is really chill and peaceful at the time we visited. So if you’re in the district looking for a coffee shop then check this place out for sure.

Beautiful spot. Our experience was very nice and pleasant. My bf got a pumpkin spice latte and it was delicious, warm, and fresh. I got a matcha sweetie and just by the color of the drink, I knew it was quality. Atmosphere was nice, unique, and peaceful.

A literal hole in the wall in comparison to the glitzy show stoppers around its corners that are Verve and Blue Bottle, Eightfold is incredibly low key and unassuming. I’m embarrassed to say how long it’s been that I’ve been in the area and never realized it was here. I finally came by and was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it’s here. The espresso I got was fantastic (though I would have liked it served with a shot of sparkling water), the barista was friendly, and the vibe was quiet but nice. I’ll definitely be coming back for more coffee and to try the maple donut. 👀

Delicious espresso. Rich, creamy lattes. Love love love and will be back next time we're downtown! Also super reasonable pricing. Cute decor, and the space feels airy, open, and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and warm.

*VERY LOW VIBES* I don’t leave bad reviews especially when a business has quality products! If you’ve seen my other post I’ve been on a quest to find the best coffee and the vibes at most spots are amazing I didn’t feel welcome at this spot! They seem tailored more towards the artistic types because the vibes went up every time a regular came in! On to the coffee! The coffee was great! I loved the coffee great flavor! I even tried the one with the orange peel inside kind of different but in a great way! I would highly recommend trying this place based on the coffee alone! Parking seems to be rough here also!

Eightfold's new Arts District store is smaller than the Echo Park location, but has a similar clean, bright and modern vibe. Not much decoration or furniture, just a cool spot to grab coffee. There are few seats and tables in the alley way outside, and the vibe is relaxing. I had a cortado and it was quite on point. Service was warm too.

My wife opened a flower studio nearby and we’ve been coming here for the past few weeks. So far, we’ve tried the Mocha, Latte and Americano. Will try their espresso next. Their coffee is delicious and something we can drink everyday! The staff here is very friendly. Special shout out to Jasmine and Heidi! Will definitely continue to come here.

What a great coffee shop in the Arts District. It's a great place to get some laptops up time whilst sipping on a coffee. I ordered the OJ creamsicle which was delicious. It was a perfect way to give me a mid-day pick me up. I would definitely come back here for some coworking time with a colleague or if I'm looking to get away from my home office for a few hours.

I'm not bougie when it comes to coffee, but their Iced vanilla lattes are pretty good Cute small coffee shop, plenty of seating, and the tall dude working there is a scholar. Great service.

Wow, the flavors are so good! I had a hojucha latte and it took me back to Japan. It was so we'll balanced. I also tried it with chocolate and that was mind-blowingly amazing. Overall delicious drinks that are made to order. Very sweet, polite, and fast service. The seating was very nice with the big giant windows and tall ceilings. We stayed for a few hours because it was so comfortable there.

Took my friend here for a birthday cafecito and we both got Spanish lattes half-sweet with oatmilk. Fue delicioso!!! Def needed that half sweet bc the full one might've been too much very cute coffee shop, plenty of parking on streets nearby. Not very much space inside the actual coffee shop but I did see one outlet, but they had a nice large bar style table outdoors to sit at. Super cute shop if you're in the area with great coffee

A delightful gem! Prices were very fair (only $12 for both a coffee and cucumber bagel) and the seating inside was so cute and artsy. The service was quick, they were very sweet and brought our bagels right to us. As a bit of a coffee snob, I thought the espresso was high quality!

A little hidden gem! Super nice people and fast service! It is a hidden gem because it is hard to find and the outside signs aren't too noticeable. But if you find this place and make it, you'll be pleased! The atmosphere is calm and inviting. I got the Spanish Latte with oat milk and with a lemon poppy muffin. I forgot to ask where the muffins are made, but it was quite good! I came on a Saturday at afternoon and it was comfortably not busy. But there seemed to be a constant flow of people walking in :) I got my order to go, but there are decent sitting and standing options inside and out. I love the "hidden" aspect of this place in an area filled with other very busy coffee places literally around the block! If you make your way here and find parking (this could be an issue for street parking, but there is a parking structure next door), you won't really regret coming here and grabbing a cup!

Very friendly staff but not overly friendly like Dutch bros. This kind of reminds me of blue bottle but smaller chain. Barista was helpful and let me set up a hot milk tea when I told him I was trying to avoid drinking too much caffeine. the big cheese in charge chased me down the street to give me a $5 bill I dropped. nice place, cute music, clean bathroom....BUT they don't accept cash, which is classist, so I couldn't get caffeinated. I won't be going back

I visited Eightfold Coffee Shop in the Arts District with high hopes for their seasonal honey-infused OJ cold brew creamsicle, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. After just two sips, the drink tasted like an old-fashioned tonic with no sugar--a far cry from the refreshing treat I anticipated. Despite the $7.50 price tag, I decided to ask if I could swap it for a less expensive matcha. Although I understand that exchanges aren't always guaranteed, the staff's handling of the situation was unprofessional. When I approached the counter, the employee's dismissive attitude and personal judgment made me feel uncomfortable. His reaction was less about solving the issue and more about making me feel like a nuisance. He checked with his coworker, who informed me that a matcha would incur an additional charge. Seeing no resolution, I chose to discard my drink and leave. When I mentioned discarding the drink, the coworker suggested it should be free, but the initial employee still insisted on charging me for the matcha. The inconsistent and unhelpful responses from the staff made the whole experience frustrating. For a more pleasant coffee outing, consider visiting Maru Coffee or Etiquette Coffee down the street, where the quality, ambiance and service are significantly better.

Stunning coffee shop in an old brick building in the Arts District.. what more can you ask for?! The shop is sleek, modern and bright. My cold brew was one of the best I've had in LA. Bakery is from CakeMonkey. It doesn't get better than this.

Met a colleague here for a work meeting and both of us had a hard time finding the location. Once found, the coffee shop is cute and clean. Tables are small but outlets + wifi are available which is great for working. I had the hojicha latte with oat milk which was a great unique alternative since I don't drink coffee anymore. The hojicha latte was mild, nutty, earthy and not too sweet. I believe you can add a syrup if you like your tea lattes on the sweeter side. Employees were attentive and helpful when making suggestions. Parking: Street parking or there's a public parking garage nearby but the coffee shop doesnt validate parking. Parking cost me $12 for a little over an hour.

Nice atmosphere sitting outside the coffee is heat and the girls that works here is amazing so sweet.

Really good coffee with average amt of seating. Seating to outlet ratio on the inside is pretty good but seating just isn't that numbered. Aside from coffee, they also sell soy candles, prints (I think) from local makers, and eightfold apparel with 10% going to a dog shelter. You can also purchase coffee making things here like an Aeropress, and of course they sell pre roasted whole beans. Pleasantly surprised at how good the drinks were. Baristas worked fast so we got orders in just a couple mins. I ordered the iced Americano black & the beans tasted ground fresh. Really good Americano and depending on if you take it with creamer or sugar it's also suitable for your taste. Iced mocha was also one of the best mochas I've had. Instead of chocolate I really tasted cocoa powder above anything else. I much prefer this to chocolate flavored syrup that usually comes with mochas. Very pleasant! Some of the most worthwhile drinks I've had in LA. Hours are a little wonky for working (7:30 AM to- 3 PM), but perfect for early risers. With the amount of outlets & good drinks I'll definitely be returning.

Hidden coffee shop with great service and high grade coffee. The ambiance is very calm. The shop is clean and modern. They offer inside and outside seating. The Spanish latte is delicious!

Love this place and it's such a great spot in the At Mateo complex! I've come here several times for coffee and food and I haven't been disappointed yet. The lattes are amazing - especially with the vanilla, lavender, and Spanish flavor. I also really liked the Hojicha Latte. As for food, I've enjoyed their chocolate croissants, the avocado toast, and their everything bagels (you can get them with cream cheese or avocado mash - both delicious). Love this place!

Solid spot for coffee and tea. I got their Hojicha latte with oat milk and it was creamy and had a great taste of the Hojicha tea. I also tried their Matcha latte with almond which doesn't come sweetened unless requested and it was mediocre. We also forgot to ask for it iced since it came hot but it was still good since it was a chilly morning. Overall decent coffee shop.

Service is great and ambiance is super cute. I just wasn't a fan of their drink. I got the hojicha latte and it was grainy and was not what I expected at all. It also was really bland so I felt like I was drinking grainy bland milk so I added honey to it when I got home.

Added to my all time favorite coffee shops in LA. I've been to a lot and tasted a lot and Eightfold stands out. No matter which location you visit they are consistent and good! They make a mean Spanish latte and the avocado toast is top 3 I've had in LA. Very simple with crunchy garlic on top. Staff are super friendly and the location is just always a vibe. Love this place so much I'd work here lol.

What a find! Cute coffee shop in a nice little nook in the Art's District. There were plenty of space and work tables both indoors and outdoors. ICED LATTE is strong. CHOCOLATE MILK was good.

Does Eightfold Coffee allow doggos? Yes, very dog friendly establishment with outdoor seating areas. Eightfold is a local coffee establishment with one location in Echo Park and another here in Arts District. This review is for the Arts District location. The staff here are always friendly. They have a good selection of various drinks and snacks, ranging from teas to lattes. I don't think they make the best coffee compared to some other coffee shops in the neighborhood, but their lattes are satisfactory. Today I tried their seasonal specialty peppermint mocha latte with oat milk. It had just the right amount of minty-ness with flavor of mocha. My favorite pastry to get here is the ham and cheese croissant. Overall, Eightfold is a good option to try if you're in the neighborhood. Street parking in this area can be challenging but there's a paid parking structure at Mateo building.

Great coffee! Love the open space and natural lighting. It wasn't noisy at all, which makes for a perfect work environment! Located in the arts district, close to the Girl and the Goat restaurant (it's a bit hidden), this place is a great addition to the area. I got the cold brew with oat milk and liked it. They do have some pastries available as well, I didn't get to try any. I love that they have outlets next to the table so you can bring your laptop and get some work done. I can definitely see myself going back to do some work or some light reading.

This is a lovely cafe. I ordered the Hojicha Latte and Kouign-Amann. The Hojicha Latte had an interesting flavor. I am usually not a fan of green tea, but I was willing to try it. The Hojicha Latte served here made me change my mind about green tea. It had a very aromatic and earthy flavor. It was the perfect milkiness and went down smoothly. The interesting earthy flavor is what interested me the most. It was very tasty and refreshing. Now the Kouign-Amann was also really good. It was a nice flaky on the outside, and soft on the inside. The outside was nice and caramelized. It was the perfect sweetness and had a tasty filling. Kouign-Amann is one of my favorite pastries, and eightfold coffee did not disappoint. The quality of the ingredients is good. The ingredients in the latte tasted absolutely fresh. The tea tasted freshly brewed, evident from its strong flavor. The pastry tasted of good quality. The presentation is very nice. They present the pastry on a very nice plate. I like the glass cup they used for the latte. The portion to price is fair. They do not overload the drink with ice. The pastry is also quite large. The price is average for your typical coffee shop. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They were also very quick in preparing my order. The ambiance is very nice. It gives a very minimalistic vibe. The lighting is really nice. The ambiance is very modern. The place was very clean. The parking is a little difficult. There is street parking, but the time I was there it was all taken. They have a parking garage, but it is very pricey. I studied there and stayed around two hours. My parking ticket cost a harsh $16 after leaving the garage. Very tasty drink and pastry. I very much recommend this place.

Okay, let me just start off by saying I totally love this place. It was my first time coming and I lovvvved it! When my cousin and I came in the cashier (I didn't even get her name) but anyways she was just so welcoming, super friendly, was just great !!! Soo I'm super hesitant about trying new things especially if it's coffee, but I was feeling matcha-E. I asked her what would she recommend, the hojicha latte w. Half oat milk and half coconut, her personal fave. Let me tell you!!! Honey that's my new fave drink okaaay. Their drip coffee is pretty good too. But overall I just loved it. You have to try it and the oatmeal and date cookie.

4.5/5 Clean, simple, inclusive. Eightfold has a great outside seating area as well a small indoor one. I ordered the hojicha latte with almond milk. It was light and delicious, not to sweet, and not too grainy. The stand out thing that I had was surprisingly the baked carrot cake donut. I mainly like carrot cake because of the cream cheese frosting, and this donut didn't have it. However, this is probably the most moist and soft carrot cake I've have. It really was delicious. I'd come back just for this donut and I highly recommend getting it. Keep in mind they don't have microwaves so they can't heat up any of your pastries (though the carrot cake def didn't need it).

Came in for a lavender latte today. Plenty of seating, dog friendly and quick service. I like that it is tucked away from the street. It's quiet but I wouldn't necessarily work here. The coffee was okay. I think I'll try something else next time. But overall not a bad visit.

After brunch at Girl and the Goat, I stopped by Eightfold for coffee. I got an iced vanilla latte which was decently sized for the price. The coffee was smooth. There are a lot of options for alternatives to whole milk, but sadly no low fat milk so I opted for whole milk. It's a small coffee shop, but there are several small tables and chairs. Aesthetically clean and cute. Parking can be difficult, but I would go here again for my morning coffee.

Stopped by for coffee on a Sunday morning and it was the perfect fix. I got their iced latte with oat milk and loved it. Their coffee is smooth without being too acidic. This location is low key and the vibe is very simple. They have a few tables inside and also some outdoor seating. Perfect place to stop by for a coffee!

This spot feels tucked in between buildings making it very lowkey. The plaza it's located in is very idle, lots of outdoor seating apart from the café. However their indoor seating is enough since it probably won't get that crowded here. They have a few tables and there are outlets. It's a cool coffee shop that sells fun little home goods. I had their hojicha latte and my boyfriend had their orange espresso tonic. It came served in glass cups since we dined in. The hojicha latte had that nutty, grain flavor that I expected. The espresso tonic was really refreshing. Has to be my favorite drink. Shoutout to the barista that was really nice and brought out our drinks for us from Thursday!

First off - Nicole is fantastic. I love her. This location is super minimalist. Street parking is available but tough in the Arts District. Yes wifi yes outlets no people. The everything bagel is classic and the hojicha latte is lovely. Overpriced but expected for LA. Would go again to study if I was around (and had already found parking!)

Great little coffee shop in the Arts District located directly behind Girl an Goat in the At Mateo structure. Perfect for a quick coffee fix, and ideal for a meeting as there is ample outdoor seating in addition to the indoor space. Perk is the adjacent parking structure. They have a small pastry menu and also offer refrigerated items to nosh on in addition to bottled beverages.

Latte are good and employees are always welcoming and friendly . 10/10 would recommend their matcha it's very subtle and good

My latte was delicious! This is definitely one of the best spots downtown for excellent coffee. The only tiny downside is that if you have to use their restroom, they don't have one in-shop and it's a pretty long walk to get there.

Got here before Girl & the Goat opened and stopped in to get some coffee. The place is white and super sleek. I ordered the ice lavender latte with oat milk and it tasted like it should. I actually had to down it because the staff at Girl & the Goat wouldn't let me drink it inside the restaurant so I didn't get a chance to savor it, but overall I would get coffee from here again.

More like "greatfold" coffee! That's how great they are! You can also buy plants here(!) and easily some of the tallest ceilings in all of Los Angeles. If you're looking for tall ceilings, plants, coffee, and baristas with the hardest shirt game in Southern California you have come to the right place. Also please note that Blue Bottle is down the street and they charge MORE for matcha and they don't even whisk it all proper like Eightfold does. You gonna tell me you're gonna roll into the Arts District in your Tesla, double park it by the bike rack, and then buy overpriced coffee from a coffee shop that is notorious in this neighborhood for having their front door constantly shattered by rocks? Yeah didn't think so. Eightfold is honest coffee you can trust and there's about 100% less shattered glass here than at Blue Bottle. Facts don't lie.

Came here for coffee in the arts district. I was eating at Afuri down the street so this was a convenient coffee shop. The shop is nice modern coffee shop. I deal for studying and pretty quite. I like the setting, high ceilings and minimalist look. For coffee I had an iced Spanish latte. I'm a sucker for a Spanish latte. Spanish latte wise it was good, but not great. I would probably get something else next time.

I live across the street, so am very familiar with all the coffee shops in the area and this place has become my favorite! I mostly get cappuccinos and iced lattes, and both have been fantastic every time. The espresso has the perfect level of acidity. Plus the people working there are super friendly!

Wish u could give this place a 4.5 star review, so I might update this when I get a chance to visit them again. Yet, without a doubt my first visit was a pleasant one. This is their newest location and though sometimes parking can be a drag In downtown, I found a spot easily on a Sunday morning. The shop is beautiful and very clean, it is definitely aesthetically pleasing. The service was superb and the coffee was delicious. They have a very simple menu but when you can make coffee as good as they do, it's probably best to let the coffee be at the forefront, I will say that I already grew to love Heart Roaster coffee from another establishment in town, but this was a great find and a worthy alternative. I had the Spanish latte with oat milk, well balanced and great texture, was a very smooth drink. Will definitely be making my way back in the near future... oh and also they have a few outdoor tables if you want to meet up with a few friends over some tasty coffee!
