I finally visited the Einstein Bros Bagel chain after watching a Korean reality show featuring Se-Ri Pak. This location has limited shared parking space on S. Lake Ave. Fortunately, upon entering, I was lucky enough to find the last available spot.
Unaware of the line, I went straight to the cashier and ordered two bagel sandwiches: the BACON, AVOCADO & TOMATO EGG WHITE BREAKFAST SANDWICH and the NOVA LOX. I must not have known the terminology, because after waiting for close to ten minutes, I received only one sandwich. When I asked about the second one, the cashier seemed surprised, as he thought I wanted the salmon lox package. As a first-timer, I apologized for the mix-up since I didn't know the difference and should have checked the receipt. However, the adjustment wasn't easy, as my credit card was swiped twice to make the correct modification. After waiting for almost 15 minutes, I finally received my second sandwich.
I wish the cashier had asked me which bagel I wanted, as both were plain.
The BACON, AVOCADO & TOMATO EGG WHITE BREAKFAST SANDWICH features fresh avocado slices, crispy bacon, and fluffy egg whites. It has a great 1:1 ratio of bread to filling.
The NOVA LOX SANDWICH, the pricier option of the two, was not as impressive. I've had better lox sandwiches at a local small mom-and-pop bagel shop. It lacked an adequate amount of salmon and overall, it tasted doughy for a sandwich. Additionally, I tasted more cream cheese than anything else on this sandwich.
