"If you’re looking for a restaurant that exudes the true spirit of Pontevedra, then look no further, as Eirado occupies one of the most charming properties in the town’s old quarter. Its compact dining rooms are imbued with the warmth and beauty that come with the bare stone walls that typify the character of this particular restaurant. Chef Iñaki Bretal creates modern cooking with clearly evident Galician and maritime roots, demonstrating high levels of technique and not being afraid to incorporate touches of fusion, taking flavours acquired on his travels (Mexico, Japan, Germany, Canada etc) and merging them with what he refers to as “the very best of the best ingredients”. In addition to a meticulous à la carte, he offers two interesting tasting menus (Currican and Palangre) that vary in their number of courses, accompanied by an extensive wine list." - Michelin Inspector

It was an enjoyable experience with the food quality, the attentive service and its setting in the well preserved old quarter. Especially the delicious well cooked Dorada with crispy skin. The recommended aged Albariño from a small winery was wonderful and very reasonably priced.

Small and charming restaurant in the historical centre of Pontevedra. Michelin starred. We had the tasting menu and it was wonderful. The two highlights for me were the aspargus dish and the cuttlefish, which were both outstanding. Excellent service. Good value for money given its quality and reputation.

If you like fish then this is the place to go. A 1 michelin star fish restaurant that is punching way above its weight class and wouldn't surprise me if it add a second star soon. Now let's get down to a review, if you don't like fish then you might struggle a little bit, the starter course on the A la Carte menu is a little bit limited and the fixed menus are not going to be for you. However if you do like fish then you are going to be in heaven. An amuse bouche started things off with percebes in miso and some freshly made bread which was absolutely delightful. For me being a non-fish eater (the rest of the family adore it) I had a main course of local Galician Beef with a date compote and a sprinkling of veg which was simple amazing. What you do have to seriously remember though is to leave room for pudding as if the fish is good in this restaurant the deserts are even better. I had a desert which was a play on coffe with a coffe based sponge, cofeee ice cream and coffee paper (??!!..but it worked and tasted of coffee) which was simply amazing. Now comes the painful bit (which really was reasonable for what we had) for four of us (2 adults and 2 chuldren) the bill was €172 without wine but the quality that we had this was actually very reasonable. The $64million question...would I go again? In a heartbeat.. this place is fantastic and a little gem in Pontavedra.

The food was good. The service was appalling. Fish was fresh and cooked to perfection however i wished it had more vegetables on the side or a little bit more mash potato or greens. Lamb was okay - nothing special, again could have used more veggies on the side not just for decoration. The bean dish was very well balanced and the fish super tender good. The coffee quality is not great. I wished they bought better coffee beans. Loved the presentation, the tableware was of premium quality and even some of the cutlery was Cutipol, which I appreciated. Negative: the service was very rude, the guy (Rogelio) that served us had a very bad attitude almost throwing the plates in our table, he literally looked like he hated working there. I asked to please take a picture of the wine bottle i was drinking and when he brought it back he basically slammed it on the table, my husband and I were shocked. No one asked us once how was the food, if we were enjoying it or needed anything else. Besides bringing us the dishes, the service was non existent. For a €130 bill i expect more from service, so I will not be coming back. Plenty good food elsewhere in Galicia with better customer service.

Nice location. Great local food cooked with talent. Prices are a bit high for Galicia, but the quality ratio is excellent. It’s like a Michelin star restaurant. Although they don’t have.

The nine course meal option is a series of small plates that takes you on an artistically curated journey of flavors. Each portion flowed perfectly to the next as did the service and they all had a unique presentation that added the pefect flare to every dish. Highly recommended for a meal you will not soon forget!

we had the short menu (9 dishes including desserts) and was perfectly enough for a dinner. the tuna (with a perfect spicy touch) and the egg (the mix between egg and Galician cheese is amazing) were the best. Special mention for the desserts, both of them were awesome. it definitely worth it. just to comment a point that could be checked, it was a bit hot in the restaurant (not enough to be uncomfortable) I was wondering if it was because of the government's energy policies, but all the windows were open.

Yelp
How is this not a Michelin starred chef and restaurant? Snuggled inside the adorable plaza Leña is this quite possibly best Spanish meal you've had, experience. The moment you arrive, you know it's special. It's an intimate and romantic setting you'll soon forget. We enjoyed a late lunch with a staff that fussed over us. We did not want to keep them so we opted for a la Carte vs. the delightful tasting menu. It was a great decision given what followed. Our meal began with the in-house bread. It was perfect. Total perfection. Note, no butter. Not needed, either. I enjoyed a perfect Albariño wine. Our waitstaff recommended it. All three glasses. Ssssh. And DH enjoyed the Nordes gin. I opted for the beef sirloin with peanut butter swirl and DH went for the hake fish. But first? PB&J foie. Yup, infused and the best thing since sliced bread. We ended lunch with the Santiago cake. It was brilliant - deconstructed and perfect in all ways with almond ice cream. Then came the surprise chocolates. All 8 of them! What a strong finish! The $100 Euros was easy to lay down for one of best meals in Spain. See website for more details.

Yelp
I have mix feeling about this place. It used to be one of the most innovative restaurants in town, but in a place were great value for money is abundant, somehow they managed to make themselves a loyal clientele by offering traditional cuisine but adding a modern twist. Today my impression was that the modern twist is still there, flavours were really good, so it was the presentation and the service but there was something missing. Portions were very small. When you having the tasting menu, obviously the amounts are less but we all felt we could have done with a bit more food. Normally you do not go to this type of establishments to stuff yourself like in a all you can eat buffet but leaving with hungry shouldn't also be the case. All in all if you are after a treat,or something more elaborate and fancy this is the place in Pontevedra.

Yelp
We had a couple of options that we wanted to check out in Pontevedra. When we asked our hotel about a recommendation, they immediately told us to choose Eirado. Great call. When we arrived, we were delighted to step into such a cozy and beautifully quaint spot. 'Small and elegant' seems to capture the vibe. We were excited about having a slightly more upscale dining experience, something a little different from our other evenings enjoying the local food. We chose to have the 10 course tasting menu and added the accompanying wine pairing. The meal could not have been any more enjoyable. From the start of our dining experience, everything was fantastic. Initially our server asked if we had any allergies or dietary restrictions. My wife was has a severe gluten intolerance and our server's response was an almost instant 'no problem'. From the first course (a local clam in the shell) the meal was a hit. Beautiful presentations and amazing flavors were delivered to us every time. The wine pairings were spot on as well. Working our way through the local seafood into some local meats and finally to a couple of desserts, the meal and our experience with it could not have been any better. We would recommend this lovely spot to anyone traveling in Galicia.
