"Baltimore noodle house Ejji Ramen is scheduled to open its second location inside Bethesda’s Westfield Montgomery Mall next month. The ramen import — pronounced “e-gee” — will sit inside the mall’s food court and offer communal-style seating. Chef Ten Vong, who debuted Ejji inside Baltimore’s Belvedere Square in October 2014, draws from his Malaysian heritage to create Ejji’s lineup of Asian-inspired comfort foods. Think: a mac and cheese “ramen” hot dog that’s tempura battered, fried, and served with apricot wasabi mustard. The menu, packed with vegan options, includes umami-filled ramen bowls, coconut rice bowls, buns, and apps like vegetable gyoza. Ingredients include hormone-free and antibiotic-free meats, seasonal vegetables, and lots of spices and seasonings." - Tierney Plumb

About 3 or 4 years ago I used to live in the area and ate here a few times and just loved it so naturally now that I am in town I stopped in for dinner. Sorry to say that I was sorely disappointed. The laksa broth was quite bland - not at all spicy. The Singaporean soft shell crab was OK but the noodles were also not so good. This place is just not as good as it once was.

Google
Had the Pork Ramen and Singapore soft shell crab mazemane. Good rich taste and broth for the ramen. Noodles were well textured and sticky. Good overall.

Google
So good! Visited them in their new spot in harbor east -- they are hand pulling noodles as well as serving top notch ramen and other dishes!! Totally worth checking out!

Google
Last night we visited EJJI and I was that customer. I was the customer everyone in the restaurant business dreads. I asked a lot of questions about menu, ingredients, allergens, and of course possible dish modifications. The gentleman who was helping us patiently answered each question and we were able to both find something we enjoyed. The pulled pork was better than expected, the Tonkotsu broth was delicious, and the chicken thighs instead of breast meat like other places adds a lot of flavor. They also have veggie noodles for those looking for lower carb or vegan options. EJJI is worth a visit.

Google
Belvedere Square was once a bustling avant-garde gourmet place in the neighborhood. This restaurant seems as though it's fallen on hard times. Used to be the premiere spot to get a ramen bowl, but now $20 gets you nothing, and the broth was not piping hot the miso egg was cold. The chicken was dried out just an all-around bad experience. This was probably my last time, sad to say. Went back today. It seems they have rebounded from the pandemic. The selections are thin. If you don't eat Pork or want the vegetable broth look somewhere else. Once again the broth was lukewarm and when you add noodles and toppings it gets cold fast. I still like this place for the convenience, but the lack of variety makes me look elsewhere. P.S. The Katsu (chicken cutlet)was fresh and tasty.

Google
Very delicious. Tried the squid ink noodles which was very tasty. Service was quick and the staff was friendly, they answered questions about the menu and provided suggestions. Will come again soon. They do offer a few Malaysian dishes however doesn't taste very authentic (although very tasty). Can spice up dishes with red/green sambal and the Roti in the Roti canai is definitely worth trying.

Google
You have to get the porky bowl ramen while here, the mix of pulled pork and fried pork belly was amazing. Also had the special elk buns, very good too but I wish they hadn't been meatballs.

Google
Ramen Dog, need I say more? But really, awesome staff and awesome food! And drink selection isn't slacking either.

Yelp
I've been here several years ago, so I was excited to come back and try it. Ordered easily, they only had the corn veggie ramen this day for vegetarians, and I added tofu. the corny ramen was good, but nothing special. I feel like I was looking for more flavor. Need to try the harbor East location again and maybe try a different flavor! Easy parking outside the building, and easy to find in Belvedere square!

Aly L.

Yelp
Ejji ramen was great! They have a small but solid menu, and you have the option between picking a ramen on their menu or building your own. I got their Tonkotsu Porky Ramen with both pork belly and shredded pork. It also came with a soft boiled egg scallions, and I added corn. Overall a great dish. You can opt to dine in and eat within the Belvedere square market, or take it to go. They give you a proper ramen bowl an soup spoon if you get it for dining in. I tried the veggie dumplings as well, but I didn't love them. I wish they had a bit more flavor.

Yelp
Located in the Belvedere square market square, this is the sister location to their Harbor East spot. Been here a few times now and ordering (phone) and pickups have been seamless. That said, as I mentioned in the review for their other location, online ordering doesn't include all of the dishes (I.e. Truffle Mazemen) or specials. I've had to call in my orders and this is the way to go although it defeats the purpose of their online ordering process. The ramen-Truffle Miso Mazemen is exquisite. (Did I mention it isn't listed online as an entree?!) I've had it with grilled chicken and with a poached egg. Truffle butter, Sun-dried tomatoes/spinach make for a must try dish! We've also enjoyed the Miso Corny Ramen-lighter, veggie version. BYO Ramen is also available. Unfortunately, the Cheeseburger Katsu has been taken off the menu-please bring it back! Service has always been friendly and upbeat. We've seen some interesting starters that we need to try (Sake Steamed Shrimp, Roti Canai). This is my Mazemen spot!

Yelp
Got the fiery schezuan and it was spicy, chewy, flavorful, hot , scrumptious!!! This place is always on point!!

Cammi P.

Yelp
best ramen in baltimore because of the selection! the miso broth was amazing and the overall flavor and freshness is exceptional. friendly staff and fast service. really great ambiance because it is located in a big eatery.

Kenneth L.

Yelp
Unfortunately I do feel that the ramen is under flavored and missing that umami that ramen should have. Each of the parts were not extra ordinary and I feel that within the food hall - there are other options that would better fill your needs The service was standard for ramen places so again. Just not bad.

Yelp
Nice for a quick ramen fix, but overall nothing to write home about I built my own ramen with tonkotsu sauce, thick noodles, three eggs, bean sprouts, & spinach I think the sauces really bring the dish together! I tried the red chili and the ginger scallion sauce and liked them both :) Quick service and the guy at the register was super patient when helping me choose my sauces since it was my first time! I love the ambiance in the market! Great for people watching haha

Angel H.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try ramen for a long time and I'm glad Ejji Ramen made my first ramen experience enjoyable. I told the guy I'm a ramen newbie and helped me selecting the ramen right for me. I ended up trying the miso ramen sans the poached egg. I subbed the egg for shrimp tempura and omg this was the best tempura I've had in a long time! Loved the ramen, the only thing I disliked was the saltiness of the broth. Not sure if all ramen is salty but overall it was good.

Vanessa B.

Yelp
My first time here at Belvedere Square and the space is great! Really spacious with lots of cool looking businesses. I've been planning to check out Ejji for over a year so I was excited to finally make it here. I ordered the veggie gyoza which was delicious. 1 order + 1 ramen bowl was a solid meal for me (although I was really hungry ). I also got the miso corny ramen with fried tofu - a perfect addition and I think it will be my go-to order here. Just like so many other restaurants, the veggie options are pretty limited, but the ones available are incredible. And there's always the build your own bowl option if you want something unique!

Joseph M.

Yelp
They refused to serve me so they could close and clean up early. Lame. I won't be coming back and neither should you.

Mary R.

Yelp
Three of us stopped in at Belvedere Square to grab a quick pre-Thanksgiving Day bit to eat for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised to find...Ejji Ramen. We sat at the bar and we all picked the same pork ramen bowl that came with pork belly and egg. I had the sesame sauce. This was such a delicious and nourishing meal on a cold fall day. The server was so attentive and helpful. We all just really loved this ramen-- I could not get over how delicious and fresh everything tasted. Thanks, Ejji Ramen! We'll be back.

Kristina T.

Yelp
Finally got to try ramen at the At Water Market We ordered: Porky Ramen The noodles were the best part! They were a nice consistency, allowing for a good glutenous texture. The broth was a little more greasy and flat than I expected. The thick cut deepfried pork belly sadly had some uncooked batter in crevice of pork, detracting from the deliciousness of the slice. The shredded pork was very delicious, and much more flavorful than I expected from a Japanese flavor profile The Roti was deep fried and tasted delicious with the curry sauce

Jeneen M.

Yelp
Ejji has a great Tonkatsu (porky ramen) that's big enough to share. It has shredded pork, scallions, a miso egg, and pork belly deliciousness. We have dined in Belvedere square and done carryout, and the experience is consistent in either case. They package everything really well so the pork belly stays crisp, the noodles, pulled pork, and egg are separate so you can heat up the broth and savor all the flavors at home. There are a few other ramens to choose or a BYO option. If you're in the square check them out!

Crishia M.

Yelp
Came back for the first time in several years only bc I saw someone mention the Curry Laksa ramen was back, but unfortunately they were sold out when I arrived. That broth is something I still crave after all these years! I had the Tonkatsu Pork Ramen which has deep fried pork belly. It's tasty at first but then the breading gets overwhelming and soggy in the broth. I'd suggest maybe trying a lighter breading recipe, if they want to continue frying the pork belly, then serving it on the side so it doesn't get soggy quickly. The broth is good, nothing super special. I'm not a fan of the fact that the standard tonkatsu doesn't come with many toppings, just meat, egg, and scallions. All other ramen places I've been to automatically come with things like corn, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and/or a fish cake. These things are all $1 extra. Overall a decent place if you're close by, but doesnt quite stand up to other ramen places in the area.

Teddy C.

Yelp
The staff are really nice and friendly but the ramen was not good. The tonkatsu ramen has this deep fried chasu pork that is overly greasy and heavy. You can only take one bite before it becomes nauseating. The broth was super salty so no flavor came through except just salt. The egg was good. The truffle mazemen was ok... it's non traditional but an interesting concept. It was too salty and I was unable to finish more then half.

Marc R.

Yelp
Just look at the two photos. Need I say anything more? It's delicious. Compliments to the Chef. Louie who works here will definitely ensure that your food is

Diane N.

Yelp
I've visited twice and enjoyed both times. Had both tonkatsu and mazeman. Mazeman was good however I usually eat it for two meals because the flavors start to get boring after a while! A little acidity would brighten it up, but that's just me!

Katelyn W.

Yelp
Amazing food, very friendly staff, and very clean! It is in a bit of a busy restaurant eatery area since it is in the Belvedere Square, but they maintain social distancing, have stickers on the floor to help with distancing, and everyone wears masks. The menu board is easy to read and the staff are friendly and helpful! We got two types of ramen and an order of Veggie Gyoza... everything was amazing. My favorite part was they kept the broth is kept separate so the noddles and toppings don't become gross. This helped tremendously as we live about an hour away from this location. We will totally be back!!

Monica B.

Yelp
Went here last night; I had been there a long time ago and loved it, but this time was a bit disappointed. The broth was just too greasy and the breading from the breaded pork disintegrates on the broth of the soup. I had better memories of this ramen since I last tried it. I had the Porky Ramen. If I go back, I will try something else

Galen S.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday for lunch and got to sit out on the patio. The service was great and food even better. Got the fiery porky noods that were a perfect blend of rich and spicy. Great portions as well!

Jay S.

Yelp
The pork belly ramen that we received looked nothing like the pictures we saw posted on here. Two bites and we couldn't stomach any more. Threw it away. Waste of money. Time to go throw up.

Ashley D.

Yelp
Ejji serves up a good bowl of ramen that satisfies the craving. The broth is good and the Japanese bottled beer is cold. I was hoping for just a bit more flavor than it packed, but overall a solid meal. I am realizing it is hard to find mouth-watering ramen without a strong Japanese community, so this will do for now. The Mac and cheese ramen dog was good but I wish there would have been a better tasting hotdog in there. The hotdog tasted as if it was on one of those 7-11 rolling warmers for a few hours then was cased in the mac and cheese. Cool concept though.

Athena B.

Yelp
A little pricey here (and all the places at Belvedere Square) and the menu can be a little confusing at first. But I like that they have a vegetarian ramen option, so that is what I got. They also have a bunch of different sauces you get to add to your ramen. I'm used to having bottles of sriracha so I can add however much I want to my liking, but here they hand you little containers of different flavors. I do appreciate that, but I still prefer bottles of sauces rather than limiting myself to however much comes in the container they give you. I had both the red and green sambal, I don't remember the difference in taste, but it did leave my ramen nice and spicy, which I like! It's not the best ramen place I've ever been to, but it's not bad either. I could see myself eating here again in the future.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I came here really wanting to love the place after talking about ramen with some friends last week. Ejji is set up in large room area with several other food vendors. The aura of the place was buzzing on a Thursday evening. To order, you stand in line. The women taking orders was a doll and had suggestions if you weren't sure on what you wanted. I ordered the tonkatsu (sp?) build-your-bowl with thin noodles, pulled pork, and spinach. The 20 min wait was fine and it was interesting to receive a phone call when it was ready. Finding a place to sit took a few minutes, as all tables were full. There were 6 in our group. Unfortunately, the ramen was very lackluster and every spoon full of broth left a layer of oil in my mouth and didn't have a ton of flavor. The pulled pork was tastey but the broth really let me down. When asking friends how they liked their food, we all had the same "it was alright" response. For parking, I found street parking as I was seeing a show at the senator, but they do have a small lot available out front. Not sure I would choose to eat here again.

Elliot M.

Yelp
If you're chilling up near Baltimore, check out this market and grab Eiji Ramen. They're a pretty chill place to grab a bowl, and it's pretty damn flavorful. The pork was incredibly sweet- a great contrast to the savory broth, and it leaves you wanting more.

CJ T.

Yelp
I went here because I like ramen and was looking for something on the healthier side. The lady working there was super nice and showed me the menu. I was excited to try this without looking at the Yelp reviews first. Big mistake. I ordered a ramen bowl with corn broth, grilled chicken, spinach and rice noodles. The broth was cold. The rice noodles were tasteless. The chicken was kinda chewy. I also ordered the vegetarian pot sticker that omg was burnt! How is that possible? Sadly I couldn't eat my meal. Next time I'll check the Yelp reviews first.

Larry M.

Yelp
Ok I went to this spot TWICE, looking for an item that is oddly interesting...I finally got it!! A bread crumb encrusted, mozzarella infused cheeseburger on a steamed milk bun with lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions!! WOW!! That was a lot!! So the first time I traveled to this establishment, they were out of their "Katsu Cheeseburger, so I copped their Soft Shell fried crab sandwich on a milk steamed bun, vegetable Gyoza, and sweet potato fries. After taking a couple bites of the crab sandwich (pictured-$13.50), it was good , but I realized that I don't like soft shell crab. However if you do like fried soft shell crab, I do recommend this place. @ejjieats . The vegetable Gyoza (pictured- $6.00) was okay as well. The sweet potato fries (pictured- $1.50) were just okay I wish I had a different sauce. Okay, the Katsu (pictured- $12.50) Cheeseburger was everything that I thought it would be... deliciousness!! The bun tasted like a normal bun , it was cooked medium well , the mozzarella cheese along with the tomato , grilled onion, lettuce and Mayo , blended the entire sandwich perfectly. This spot is located at 529 E.Belvedere St., Baltimore M.D. . Inside of Belvedere St. market . There are quite a few swanky eateries in this market, give them a shot when you go . The customer service was welcoming, warm, and attentive. Parking was readily available. Overall, I'm definitely coming back to get another one of these burgers!! That's it. #cheeseburger #sweetpotatofries #katsu #friedsoftshellcrab #milkbun #bigschlimsreviews #gyoza #foodie #goodeats #musthave #ejji #baltimore #belvedarestreetmarket #deliciousness #oddity #thatsit

Amanda Q.

Yelp
These reviews don't do Ejji justice! This is one of my favorite ramen spots in Baltimore. Their ramen is super unique, the broth is flavorful and the pork is delicious. I take all my friends here when they're visiting. 10/10 recommend!

Mia L.

Yelp
I'm fairly new to ramen so I'm still learning what I like best and what I do not. Therefore, my experience with Ejji Ramen was just ok and some of that could very well be my own fault. Ejji Ramen is located in the Belvedere Square market which is basically a food hall with different stalls. Some stalls are like little restaurants serving food and the others sell prepared foods. Ejji Ramen has a counter where you can sit and enjoy your food but it's small, however, there are tables and chairs throughout the market for you to sit and enjoy your food. I ended up ordering my food to go. I was a little surprised at how busy it was in the middle of the week but it was also the day after Christmas so many people were probably on a holiday break. I ended up getting the seafood curry broth with thin ramen noodles, bean sprouts, and shrimp tempura. I had to drive over 30 minutes to get home. This is the part that I blame on myself. By the time I got home, the broth wasn't as warm as it originally was. I attempted to eat it at first but eventually had to warm it up. The shrimp tempura was my favorite part. Despite having to wait so long to eat it, it was still crispy. The seafood broth was not my favorite and I don't think I'll be getting that again. If I ever make it back, I'll try a different broth. Overall, it was ok but I have to figure out what works for me. This seemed to be a pretty popular spot in Belvedere Square so there must be something good about it.

Cassie X.

Yelp
This is located inside the market, and it's somewhere in the back. I went up to the counter to order (came by myself), and they let me try samples of different broths (you have to ask). I got a Mac and cheese ramen hot dog and a tonkotsu porky ramen. Food was ready pretty fast, but it might also be because I came at a not so busy hour. You can choose to either sit at the bar or sit at any of the tables around. They'll give you the ramen if you tell them where you're sitting. I liked the Mac and cheese ramen hot dog - it's pretty cheesy, but it's heavy. I wouldn't recommend getting it often, but it's worth a try. For the ramen, they give generous amounts of meat, but very little vegetables (they add vegetables for garnish). The egg is pretty good though, so I'll give them that. But otherwise, ramen tastes pretty similar to other ramen places I've been to in the DMV area. But this market is pretty convenient if you want to eat multiple things at once (kinda like a food court). I'd give this place another shot.

Jackie M.

Yelp
Oh boy. My recent meal was very disappointing. Ejji has been a somewhat dependable place for a quick meal, and friendly service--sadly, not even close today. We ordered the Miso Corn and the broth was shockingly luke warm, the only hot thing in this bowl of soup were the noodles. When I tried to discretely let the counter staff person know that the broth was luke warm he was surprisingly defensive and said the broth gets cold because of the cold veggies they put in the soup (?!). Meanwhile the par boiled egg swimming in my cold soup was utterly gross. If the soup is intentionally luke warm -- please, WARN PEOPLE.

Mj O.

Yelp
Since moving out of Baltimore, we have been neglecting coming to our to go ramen spot. We finally were in the area and popped by before closing to get some ramen. I was surprised to find that they changed the menu somewhat and added 2 new noodle dishes to the menu - so me being me had to try it. The boy went with his standard tonkatsu ramen with extra pork belly but apparently forgot that he always gets extra greens. The noodles i had (i forget the name now) came with a coconut covered soft shell crab -- good but because they were packing these in to go boxes (covid problems) the soft shell crab was probably not as crunchy as normal. I wish this noodle dish had some sort of vegetable in it as I like my noodles to have something outside of protein. The dish was very good and flavorful, i'm just wishing it had just a little more oomph to it. I also similar to the others cant wait for some of the menu items from the Harbor East stall to come over here, I would totally get the hand pulled noodles here too if i could!

Jude T.

Yelp
Hell yeah! I've been wanting to come here for about a year but I usually only try new places with my partner. Unfortunately, she lives on the wrong side of town to come here, and she doesn't drive so getting her here just to eat is a long process...but we found ourselves in the area for something else, and alas...a miracle happened! I really enjoyed sitting at the counter to eat. It's a little lunch counter and you can watch the kitchen magic as your food is being made. The guy who took our order (seemed like a manager) was friendly and helpful - he suggested sauce from their list as pairings with what we ordered. I had a bowl of my own design, which had grilled chicken, corn, an egg, and snow peas, all in their corn broth. This was an excellent choice. I paired it with...a sesame sauce? I can't remember but I believe that was the one. It was very good without the sauce but the added sauce made the flavors pop more as the manager had said it would. My partner also enjoyed her bowl, which was the pork one that comes with the crispy pork on the side. Dipping the crispy pork into the bowl was magic. Finally, get that freaking hot dog, friends! The fried hot dog in Mac n cheese ramen coating on the starters list is the absolute bomb. It is everything I thought it would be and more...the crispy outside and tender, salty inside. Perfect. It won best hot dog from Citypaper a few years ago and, well, it is deserved.

Yelp
We've visited all the shops and eateries in The Belvedere Square except Ejji. Friends from out of town had a craving for ramen one night so guess where we took them? We've never been here before so of course, we all had to experience Ejji together for the first time. Belvedere Square is always a delight to walk through with all the little shops and restaurants. When we got to Ejji, we weren't as lucky to find seating. There is only a couple long tables with limited seating but luckily a group had left after about 10 minutes of us being seated pretty far from away. The service is so-so. We weren't greeted for quite a while but when we had a server come over they were able to help us with any questions we had. My fiance and I both ordered the Tonkotsu Porky Ramen which was fantastic! I was very impressed. We had plenty of pork belly accompanying the perfectly cooked noodles. The whole meal was fantastic. I think we just happened to have come at maybe the wrong time. We'll definitely be back again in the future.

Liz M.

Yelp
So I'm a total foodie. And I really love cuisine from many countries in Asia. I ordered their special- tuna on Chinese bun and vegetable gyoza. I've enjoyed similar dishes at other restaurants around town. When I was served my food- presentation was simple and artful, well composed. The tastes were OUT OF THE WORLD!!! I did not feel as though I was dining at a restaurant, but rather at a friends house, enjoying a home-cooked meal. The flavors were balanced properly. The tuna was rare and seared with decent portion to the size of the bun. 6 gyoza for 5$ and the bun special was 7$. There is also a wide selection of beers available- I saw Sapporo and I presume there are other beers from Asia. You have to make time to come by- you won't be disappointed.

Shelby S.

Yelp
I just tried Ejji for the first time last week. I switch between ramen and pho a lot because I love both equally. This time, I was craving some good rams . Honestly it was the photo of the Mac and cheese ramen dogs that sold me. They looked delicious and interesting - AND THEY WERE DELICIOUS. Comfort food is my favorite and what's better than noodles in soup with pork and kimchi???!! I wasn't expecting Nori either and I LOVE NORI. The ramen was filling and so so so so SO good. I didn't want it to end. As stuffed as I was, I still ate the ramen dogs as well (I like to eat, what can I say). Very good first impression! Will definitely eat here again.

Lauren P.

Yelp
I've been here several times over the past two years and there hasn't been a problem with the food; service is another thing but the food made up for it... until today. Came in during their lunch hour apparently and got the looks of "we're eating, go away" from the staff. Fine, I get it; you're eating; it's lunch. Anyway ordered my usual build-a-ramen bowl to eat in. It came in a timely manner. No problems there. It was delicious; until I got to the hair towards the bottom of the bowl. Given, I mostly ate the soup and never had a problem before but now I wonder what else I ate before I noticed the hair. I know Mondays are not the best day to go to a restaurant so I might come back. But I'm really rethinking coming here for if the wait staff is going to be is nonchalant and downright rude every time I come here.

Ericka S.

Yelp
Originally gave Ejji a 4 star, but after last nights amazing service, I have to up it to a 5 star situation. Everyone's idea of what ramen should taste like are different. Frankly, some of the reviews I'm reading here are borderline snobbish/elitist. We get it. You're from Japan/A home chef/Whatever. Blah Blah. That doesnt mean you know what ramen is for everyone. So keep that in mind. For myself? This is one of the best, most consistent ramen places I have found since leaving California. The service has always been amazing, the ramen has always been quality, and I have yet to be disappointed by anything I've tasted here. Has become the local meeting spot for friends when we need our ramen fix. Amazing sake mixes, great Japanese soda selection (MANGO CREAM SODA. DO IT), and ladies night on Mondays means discounted wine for me. UPDATE: This is important - Ejji has STOPPED TAKING CASH, so please come through with the card. Due to someone trying to pass off fake $20s to the ENTIRE Belvedere square, this is where we are at right now. Keep that in mind when coming through.

Gretchen B.

Yelp
Once was enough. I can't say anything more than "This is NOT ramen". It's not traditional, authentic, or even close to being for real.

Mary Grace B.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite ramen spots in Baltimore (number one is Mi & Yu). Seating can be tough on the weekends at Belvedere Square, where this is located, but I think it's worth it. The broth is pretty solid, but what I love about Ejji is the actual ramen consistency - not too soggy like other places, and just the right amount of firmness. Currently seeing a movie at The Senator and now going to head over for some ramen because I remembered I'm so close to it!

L G.

Yelp
Tried the Tonkotsu Ramen. For those who have experienced good ramen, you will leave this place extremely DISSATISFIED! Just keep driving! The broth is plane, lacks complexity, lacks seasoning. There's nothing deep or intense here! You find yourself looking around the table for any seasoning you can add to your bowl! The noodles are prepackaged and just doesn't pick up the flavors from the broth. The pork is fried in some batter and the egg is not marinated. If you have the time....head over to Kippo Ramen in Fells Point!

Yelp
Ejji is the best ramen in Baltimore. The pork belly is outstanding! If you don't know where to start, order the porky ramen and customize from there. The staff is wonderful and friendly.

Yelp
The menu has grown quite a bit since my review. There used to be just ramen back then... but now there are cold noodles, salads, rice bowls, sandwiches... I think they might have lost focus and sacrificed quality. I used to really enjoy the ramen here, but this time, the broth was greasy, gritty, and lacked the depth for flavor it had before. The pork belly slices were thicker, which made the hubby happy, but I don't think I'll be eating here anymore. ----------------------------------- Explanation of my rating system - 5*: Epitome of something, the best I've had, would LOVE to go back 4*: Great food and happy to go back regularly, but not the best of the category 3*: Food is fine. I may spontaneously decide to go there based on convenience. But no need to go back either. 2*: If you insist, I guess I'll come along. I'll find something to eat. But I wouldn't have picked it. 1*: No plans to come back. I'll try to talk companions out of going.

Yelp
Update: I changed my review from 2 stars to 1 star after the owner's response. I didn't order the build your own but the chicken shoyu ramen that should have come with Grilled Chicken (antibiotic hormone free thigh), miso egg , bonito flakes, scallions, black sesame garlic oil, and nori with Ramen noodles in a five- spiced chicken shoyu broth and dash. *Our Chicken Broth has traces of Shiitake mushrooms. At the very least there were no bonito flakes nor scallions and OMG Are you kidding me charging 18 bucks for katsu ramen on doordash and then a dollar here and there for :extra" toppings that are basic? a dollar extra for bean sprouts and a dollar extra for scallions and if you don't pay that all you get is basically just meat and noodles? Part of the problem is that there are 2 ejji webites on doordash. Make sure if you order from there you pick the one that says "ejji ramen" and not "ejji" like I did. I can't believe that was the owner's response to me....that it was basically my mistake. Ejji please delete your duplicate websites so customers are not confused. I'm voting with my feet and go to kippo ramen or akira ramen (both of whom I've never had a problem like this with) instead next time where I've never had such troubles. *** Ordered 2 katsu ramen via doordash with extra noodles. deeply disappointed. the ramen was basically just meat and noodles with a slice of seaweed and eggs. it literally had no greens or mung beans. it seriously lacked toppings. I had to add my own toppings from stuff I got @ hmart. I would go to another ramen place next time.

Yelp
We started with the vegetable gyoza which was good, nothing to brag about. The ramen was tasty but I've definitely had better. I ordered the pork belly ramen, the pork belly was breaded and I guess deep fried, the breading had a sweet taste which I didn't necessarily enjoy. My friend got a vegan version of the miso corny ramen with rice noodles as a substitute and no butter in the broth. He said his was decent but he felt like it wasn't enough food. We paid $29 for two bowls of ramen and the app, we did not order drinks. I suppose that is average for a ramen place. I'm not sure I would go back if I was at Belvedere again, I'd probably try a different place.

Yelp
The best ramen in the area! When we get a craving this is where we go. Belvedere Square is a bustling eatery with lots of unique options and typically smaller menus. Ejji fits right in and is a stand out. Works well for groups and families. We are fortunate to live just a few minutes away and we always take out of town visitors, especially when no one can make up their minds about what to eat. If you've been thinking about going, or are looking for something different then get up and go!

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat. I have enjoyed everything I have tried from them so its worth trying different things on the menu, but my favorite always comes back to the tonkotsu ramen. The broth is to die for. If you sign up for their newsletter you get a free bowl on your birthday. I could go for some upscale place if I wanted to, but honestly nothing beats the warm ramen and sake on my cold fall birthday. Definitely worth a trip!

Yelp
I can't believe I drove so far out to Baltimore to eat here. My friends and I agree that the ramen here was just mediocre. I went with the tonkatsu ramen. The pork belly was small and burnt. The miso egg was too salty and had a weird texture. The broth didn't have enough flavor, which is probably why they offer sauces (sesame garlic, scallion ginger, green sambal, etc). They get stars for presentation. You can also be "Ejji" and customize your own bowl of ramen. This is not a restaurant, but a shop inside the Belvedere Square's Market. Seating is limited with communal style tables.
