This restaurant is very conveniently located, and the food is quite good. The curry laksa has a very rich and flavorful broth — definitely worth trying! The Pad Thai was a bit on the soft side and lacked some bite, but overall it was okay. The staff were very polite and friendly, which made the dining experience even more pleasant. All in all, I really enjoyed this meal!

I felt that the flavor had been adjusted to be milder, likely to suit the local people. Still taste good. Staff are friendly smiles. Cozy place.

First of all, I want to start to thank Ahmed the nice smiling welcoming guy who explained to us everything and suggested to us what to take based on our inquiry.. the food, atmosphere, staff all fantastic and we are more than happy to also come again. It's just next to king Cross station 🚉

Google
“Thai restaurant” is definitely inaccurate, as there are a lot of other Southeast Asian dishes on the menu. Better described as a Malay restaurant. They make fantastic nasi goreng for just £13, right next to King’s Cross.

The food was tasty, serving was quick, and the restaurant wasn't that busy on Saturday afternoon. The waitress kept reminding everyone that the restaurant is closing at 15:00. I felt a bit rushed, but that is the nature of the service at this branch. The laksa soup was amazing and worth the visit

Always on the lookout for good Thai places – London can be hard to find good places in because it’s so big, and the best stuff is often out of centre. I was pleased, then, to discover this Thai street food restaurant just down the road behind Kings Cross Station – a small chain, this place has good reviews. It’s situated about five minutes down York Way, which 25 years ago used to be a terrifying street – decent these days though. A mix of places to eat and small hotels leading up to the entrance to the big Granary Square development. Booked online – glad I did because it’s clearly popular and most tables were taken up (Wednesday night) on arrival. Simple menu with good range of choices – small plates and big. Small plates available as starters. The beer was Singha, as it was and as it should be. Ordered the crispy squid to start, which was delicious and had a good chilli kick. Pad Kra Pao for a main, served with egg fried rice and a crispy fried egg. This was pad Kra pao as it should be, with lovely, minced, chicken and a good level of spice. I could have eaten more of this – it was delicious. Overall a lovely meal, served quickly and in vibrant and modern surroundings. I would come here again for certain. One for the list.

Google
Would’ve gave ZERO STAR if I had the option! Avoid this place unless you enjoy being disrespected and served unsanitary food Absolutely disgusting experience Found a hair in our food, and when we brought it to the staff’s attention, they acted like it was no big deal Instead of apologizing properly, they offered us a pathetic £1.50 refund—as if that makes up for serving unsanitary food! When we refused, they had the audacity to tell us to leave, claiming we “couldn’t afford it.” Completely unprofessional and insulting

I had a very pleasant dining experience here - both the food and service left a great impression. First, I highly recommend their chicken laksa. The broth was rich and flavorful, beautifully blending coconut milk and the aroma of peanut butter. The chicken was well-seasoned and tender - every bite was satisfying. The Pad Thai was also good, with a nice balance of flavors, though the noodles were a bit too soft. A slightly firmer texture would make it even better. The Hainanese chicken rice was another highlight - the chicken was tender and juicy, perfectly seasoned, although the rice was a bit bland and some grains were a little hard. With some improvement there, it would be excellent. The service was outstanding. The staff were friendly, polite, and patient. They even checked in on how we were enjoying the meal, which added a nice personal touch. Food arrived quickly, making this a great choice even if you're in a rush. The restaurant is clean, calm, and not noisy - the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. It’s also conveniently located near the train station. Overall, this restaurant delivers both great food and top-notch service. I would definitely return and recommend it to friends.

Yelp
We came to King's Cross to see the Harry Potter 9 3/4 platform and were looking for a dinner spot. This place is a bit further from the main drag but totally worth it. It looked like a few tables were reserved but otherwise a great spot to escape the crowds. When we walked in, the entire kitchen staff was looking at us which was a bit intimidating but I guess they just needed something to do. The service was very fast and quick to clean up empty dishes. Our waiter was also helpful at providing menu recommendations. I tried the shrimp pad thai which hit the spot. It was the perfect portion and great flavor. The prices were also very reasonable. Very happy with our visit!

Yelp
Came here because Ekachai was close to the hotel and I didn't feel like walking ... I got Hainan Chicken Rice (A-OK) and Chicken Satay Skewers (Not good). In general, the food is B-. Ambience is A-OK for a quick meal. This is not the restaurant to take your date to.

Yelp
Pad Thai. Probably the easiest dish to make for Thai food. Impossible you think to ruin it. Well, here is a place that will solve that one thought you never assumed - awful Pad Thai. Let's just say this. It's 11 pm. You haven't eaten in two months. Then yes this will be the best dish for you. Zero flavor. Let me say that again. Zero flavor. Noodles with tofu that couldn't soak up anything because the meal was flavorless. Oh, did I mention, it was awful?

Yelp
A short walk from Kings Cross, Ekachai is what I'd label as a SE Asian restaurant. Food: Hainanese Chicken Rice is a good sized plate with deboned chicken on one side, a heaping of rice on another, served with a few cucumber slices, ginger in oil, and homemade chili sauce that pairs well with the chicken. Beef chow fun has decent 'wok hei', and not overly salty with the beef and soy sauce. Satay comes with a nice peanut sauce, and only nit is that they use breast meat only for the satay, which makes it a bit dry. Not a fan of the duck and bbq pork plate, but chicken rice, curries, and noodle dishes are decent. Service: Prompt and friendly, orders are taken quickly and food comes out as its cooked. You may get some dishes ahead of others. Cost: Reasonable for London, about £10 per entree. Overall: Well located, takes cards, and food is fresh.

Yelp
The food was pretty good and super quick! However, I was hoping for a bit more flavor and spice from the meal I ordered!

Yelp
Food was ok, NOT GREAT. Service was not good. Charged us for an extra sambal sauce. Ridiculous! Did not even ask us for a drink. We finished eating without having any water to drink. And even if we asked them for water it did not come to our table at all. We left very disappointed. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!

Yelp
Bad first impression when we walked in because they were not friendly and wasn't willing to accommodate us at a table that we wanted even though there was ample seating available in the very cool interiors of this restaurant. But that's ok, we were hangry and just wanted some good SE Asian food. Our hotel concierge recommended this place to us and since the photos on Yelp looked amazing we decided to give this a try! Ordered the prawn and scallop sui mai, duck spring rolls, and seafood curry laksa noodle soup. Loved the open kitchen and the smells radiating from it made my senses so happy! Kind of strange that our appetizers came out like 10 mins after the larger noodle soup and we were surprised that the duck rolls were deep fried. We were expecting fresh rolls and it didn't mention that they were fried on the menu... Oh well. I'm not allergic to gluten but just a heads up to people who are used to fresh rice paper rolls, that these duck spring rolls are deep fried in wheat wrapper. The fried duck rolls weren't that great; the skin was too thick and the filling was a bit on the too sweet side but I liked the laksa curry soup! They forgot to bring out the second appetizer that we ordered, but that's ok because we were full anyway.

Yelp
Delightful and prompt service, delicious food and amazing atmosphere! Very sweet special attention to my 4-year old

Yelp
Wonderful, wonderful owner & staff. So welcoming. I got there 5pm before it started filling up, and the seafood curry (laksa) was on the table in a few minutes. The seafood laksa is medium spicy hot, the sauce is decadently rich with coconut milk and herbal accents (more a soup than a trad curry), the seafood was done to perfection. There was a simplicity about it, but with tantalizing flavor & textures, and balanced composition ("mussels, prawns, calamari & vermicelli & egg noodles in thick curry laksa gravy made of coconut milk, mixed spices and herbs"), there was nothing to fault. The interior is sleek and clean, but the lighting is very nice, and it still feels warm. It seems in some way like fast food, because it IS so fast, and they are doing a brisk take-out/delivery business (guys with helmets keep coming up to the counter and pick up bags; they have five locations), but I just can't come up with a reason not to maintain the five-star clean sweep so far here on Yelp. I'm very grateful to Yelp for dropping the breadcrumbs to this place on the long layover before the train to Leeds.

Yelp
I'm a Singaporean living in the States, and it's been a long while since I've had some authentic Singaporean/Malaysian food. There are just NONE in California/New York. So when my hubs and I decided to visit London, we hit up a bunch of Singaporean restaurants, and I am so glad we came across this joint. Loved the ambiance, the authentic food, the service!! Laksa is something that rarely gets done right outside of Singaporean hawker centers, but they just make a divine one. Love you guys! Will visit you guys again when we're on this side of the Atlantic.

Yelp
Ordered the Malaysian salmon curry with rice and was not disappointed. Very flavorful meal with prompt service. Was very impressed with the size of the menu -- so many intriguing choices. This spot is a good find for Thai food lovers!

Yelp
We had a great experience dining at Ekachai Kings Cross. We were warmly greeted promptly at the door and made to feel very welcome, almost as if we were visiting a close friend in their home. The food was outstanding! Very fresh and delicious. We started with chicken satay and crispy squid. Both dishes highly recommended. For the mains we had Malaysian Chicken Kapitan and Kai Krapow. The servings were very generous, and very delicious. The prices are excellent, especially for being in central London. We hope to be able to return soon!

Yelp
I love this kind of food, and this is quite good, if nothing lush. They are here to make money and jam people in and out. The chairs are small the tables are small and it's not cheap. BUT it is quite tasty! I am not qualified to say whether individual East Asian dishes are -genuine- but overall, it scratches that itch if you are nearby. I would not bother traveling v far to come here, though.

Yelp
Awesome stuff. Got the Chai Thai Lon and seafood laksa. Very tasty. Mildly hot and was hitting the right spot.

Yelp
The hainan chicken rice is just beyond amazing. The chicken itself is tender, juicy and flavorful. There are garlic, ginger, chives, and other flavorful herbs in the sauces, which take this dish into another level. The rice is also rich in flavor and cooked in the chicken stock. And the Kangkong Goreng is well done and I ate them all. Absolutely amazing place for high quality of Thai/ Singapore/Asian food!

Yelp
An amazing Thai restaurant, food is excellent and there is a lot of it. The manager is a great lady and always welcoming. A very very good restaurant.

Yelp
Best food I've had in London. Great, speedy service and a great vibe. I will be back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Nice ambiance. Nice staffs. Food was just okay. We must have a higher expectation of Singaporean and Malaysian cuisine. There are better Singaporean and Malaysian restaurants in bay area.

Yelp
I had Take Away of 2 Hainan Chicken Rice and 1 Chicken Wonton Soup. The Hainan Chicken Rice was amazing. The chicken moist and tender, not fatty, delicious skin, right amount of ginger scallion. The Chicken Rice itself was very flavourful, mmmmm. Served with pak choy and sambal on side. Finally there is really good Chinese food in U.K. I can order Ekachai's Hainan Chicken Rice over and over. My finicky old Chinese aunt devoured a whole serving. She will definitely be ordering this for take away now. The Chicken Wonton Soup was a little different, as I am used to pork wontons. The soup was mild flavour and had pak choy, black mushrooms and chicken breast. My aunt loved the Chicken Wonton Soup. Had no time to take photos because aunt was gobbling away as soon as I put it on the plate; it looked so much of what she is used to. Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner (sorry had to say it)

Yelp
We ordered the Singapore noodles twice! Delicious food in low key and charming environment. Check it out when you are in London.

Yelp
The Thai Green Curry was phenomenal. Fast service, polite staff, and a very convenient location for travelers or locals.

Yelp
Very nice/fast service and good food (I liked the chicken pad thai although could be spicier).
